Morley made it seven wins out of seven with an easy 4-0 triumph at St Omer. With Omer still young and Morley carrying all before them only one outcome was really expected. The game would prove very one-sided as Morley created all of the chances. Florian Arnautu would put them ahead on 13 minutes with an accurate shot before Helder Velez’s lob was tipped over minutes later. Zacharias Ashe would have the next chance but his flick header went wide. It would be 2-0 on 24 minutes, though, as Vivian Kwekeu toe-poked home in the area to give Rain little chance in goal. Helder Velez nearly made it three with a shot which struck a post but it wouldn’t be long in coming as Kwekeu mishit a shot home for his second of the contest. The second-half saw more of the same with Mitchell Pennock only being denied by a good save from Rain after an accurate header. Kwekeu would waste a headed chance for his hat-trick goal while Adolf Munzberg put a free-kick wide. They would get a fourth goal, though, as Ashe got in on the act in injury-time with a fine header. Another clean sheet and victory will undoubtedly please Leeg21 who has seen his side open up an eight-point gap on fourth. CT will have expected this defeat but will give his side more of a chance in their next match against Tottenham on Tuesday.
EspAda also continue to look impressive and they eventually wore down Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 at Huco Mundo. With Tottenham still looking for their first win nothing less than three points was good enough for the home side’s title hopes. The first-half would be a tight and dull affair with neither side seeing a sight of goal. However, the home side would gain the upper hand in the second 45 minutes. Andrea Gualco had a header saved by Gomes before the ’keeper also punched away a looping header by Geoffrey Stiles. The opening goal would come on 72 minutes, though, as Ronaldo Bettencourt thumped home a free-kick and the win was sealed shortly afterwards as Diego Maradona toe-poked home a neat finish in the area. Crismorena will urge his side to keep the pressure on Morley and their next assignment is an away match at Anime Allstars. Ocs will be glad to see the back of this campaign so he can see his side develop and become more competitive.
Crimson Tigers complete the top three following a tight 2-1 home victory over Alsancak. With both sides enjoying successful campaigns given their relatively young squads an intriguing match-up was in prospect. Miroslav Burkhart thought he had given the home fans some early cheer but his good finish was made irrelevant due to the assistant’s flag. Dan Ruffer would put them in front on 15 minutes, though, with an excellent toe-poke before Andy Howe hit the bar with a fine header as the Tigers took the game to the visitors. Evgeny Kuryanov saw a chip punched away by Frost before Alsancak responded with a Miles Beckett lob header which went over. The second-half began with Fraizer Campbell levelling early in the piece with a clinical finish in the area to stun the home side. Andy Howe would nearly put the hosts back in front but his powerful low shot found a post while Rory Burston also hit a post at the other end with a well-placed effort. However, it would be the hosts who would strike again as Howe put in an inch-perfect lob before seeing a header saved by Frost. The game would have another turning point, though, as Alsancak won a penalty but, much to their chagrin, Burston put his shot too close to Gow who made the save. This would prove their last chance as the Tigers saw out time on a 2-1 triumph. Paul admitted he thought grand ambitions were beyond his side this term but with them ‘7 games in and currently in third’ promotion has to be thought about. Wienersnitzel is in a similar position but his current ambition will be for his side to bounce back against Cressex on Tuesday.
Rolling Thunder would slip-up in their promotion challenge as AFC Boo Boys travelled well in a 2-0 triumph. The sides have had up-and-down starts to the campaign and both were looking for a little more consistency going into this match-up. The first chance fell to the visitors and Lennox McCarroll fired them into a lead with a thumping strike from a free-kick move. Alexander Frolov had the chance to make it two but missed the target with his header while Ludo Cappellacci hit the angle with a looping header at the other end. Marcel Holub would see a further headed chance which would, this time, be saved by Ersberg before Jovan Gagic also had another header held by the ‘keeper. At the other end Michal Handzus went close with a header before Torben Kummel’s diving header was turned over by Jorquera. Jorquera would make another save as he tipped a Handzus shot round while a volley by McCarroll was also held by the ‘keeper. Boo Boys would continue to have chances but Ross Scott put a lob over the bar and the home side tried to hit back. Gagic would have a sight of goal but put his shot over and they would go in a goal behind. The second-half would be quieter with just a further chance each. Boo Boys would strike a crucial blow as Handzus produced a cleverly flighted finish to make it 2-0 on 52 minutes. Thunder’s chance to get back into the contest came on 73 minutes but Marcelo da Silva’s free-kick struck the woodwork and they slipped to a 2-0 home defeat. Skoolyou will be pleased with a return to form and a home match against Munich offers further hope on Tuesday for more points. Vehusheia will be disappointed with the defeat and it places more emphasis on the clash with Tigers next up.
1863 Munich picked up another three points as they made the most of their chances to defeat Reggae Reggae Sauce 3-0 at The 1863 Fortress. Despite Anderson’s relative inactivity of late Munich had managed a win last time out and fancied their chances against the disappointing Sauce. Sauce began well but Christiano Torres could only put his header over and Adrian Fontenla made them pay by thumping home a header at the other end on 11 minutes. Turlough Daly then rounded Mullen for 2-0 on 22 minutes and when Fontenla added his second of the day with a powerfully curled shot the scene was a familiar one for the visitors. Sauce would enjoy the only chance of the second-half but Zinnari punched away a lob by Torres and they slipped to another heavy defeat. Despite two recent wins Munich fans will be hopeful Anderson resumes managerial duties soon as they will come up against stronger opposition in the future. Xpertelevener seems unable to get his team moving in the right direction and it’s tough to know where they will go from here.
Anime Allstars put together an impressive away performance to leave Cressex pointless. With the sides on a similar standing in the table the contest was thought to be a tight one but Anime put together a better performance to win the day. Anime started strongly and a free-kick by Sonsaku Hakufu went just wide. The home side responded with a free-kick move from Cabbar Saatcioglu which flew into the back of the net on five minutes. Cressex had a chance to make it two but Dan-Ake Rothflod could only volley over before Emil Rojas couldn’t capitalise from another free-kick. Anime would be better after the break but Chobits Chii couldn’t net from a clear sight on goal. Miharu Sena-Kanaka then saw a header saved before Asuna Kagurazakaa saw a diving header fly into the net for an equaliser on 53 minutes. The same player then had a curled shot held before Sena-Kaknaka put a shot wide. Cressex briefly threatened but Ubaldo Andre’s power shot was brilliantly saved by Sapienza and the visitors continued to press at the other end. Chii would power in a header which needed saving by Martinzon but the ’keeper couldn’t do anything to prevent Sena-Kanaka from shooting home in the area to put Allstars 2-1 up. This lead quickly became two as Chii powered in a shot from distance to complete a happy trip for Joshy’s side. They will be hopeful of pushing further up the table but with a young side, EspAda will be tough opposition next. Villan_RAS also has a young squad and development will be the key to how successful their season is this term.
