Unfinished buisness...

With the new season almost upon us excitement has reached fever pitch as the newly named Anime Allstars FC and their new stadium named The Hayao Miyazaki Stadium will host league rivals 1863 Munich to whom they still hold a grudge against. Joshy who turned 25 on the 25th of jan wil host his rivals just 4 days after his birthday and told media how he would love to end his birthday week with a win...

" We have had a bad pre-season if you look at our results but we showed no fear as we played some hard teams including new top flight club Real Madrid FC and held them to a 1-1 draw. It was a nice birthday and getting all 3 points at The Hayao Miyazaki Stadium would end my week in style. Fellow managers are in for a shock this season my style and tatics will be mixed up even more then ever as each match passes so too does my knowledge for the game so fellow managers be aware!..."

Just for the record it was my birthday on the 25th of Jan that was true and not made up so happy birthday to me :D

start

In AC Milan al what are we waiting now is start of the new season. All players are fit to play. ''It has been a long break since last season and I hope guys haven't forgot how to play football,''said the main coach on a press conference today.

Feeling my age ‘ere

Blaz Halilovic yesterday handed in a transfer request.

“I feel that it’s time for me to move on as I’m starting to feel my age here, there’s only so many jokes about farting, peeing & no2’s you can take. I have no idea how to interact with these guys, don’t get me wrong they’re a good lads but I feel out of place.”

The gaffer only had this to say on the subject; “Big Jessie”.

Santos: Afonso not for Sale

After recent news that Santos captain Marcelo Afonso was on the transfer block, manager Sean7 cleared up any rumours by announcing that the midfielder was not for sale.

'Marcelo has a tremendous influence with our club, he's one of the founding pillars of our squad. I couldn't envision seeing him in any other shirt than our own.'

The stinging rumours galvanized the midfielder, as he proved his worth in one of the best performance of his career. During the RMI cup semi-final against Vikings, there were chants from the Santos away crowd, 'Say it ain't so, Afonso!', and cheered everytime he had the ball. However a quick two goals by Vikings had the club down 2-0. The captain stepped up to the challenge, netting 2 goals in the 38th and 66th minute to tie the match. However, an 89th penalty shot by Vikings star Anastasios Tassiopoulos sealed the fate for Santos, as Vikings moved on to the RMI Cup Final.

'Regardless of the veracity of the move, I thought Marcelo played like a true skipper should. He lead the team, battled hard, and pulled us out of the hole with his play. Although we lost the match, I couldn't be prouder.
The media made a big a deal out of these rumours, we didn't transfer list Afonso but Ray Goddard, our defender. Someone in the media needs to get their facts straight.'

Indeed, in a move that came out of nowhere, long serving defender Ray Goddard had agreed to terms with Padston Villa, and a transfer of 1.85 mil was made between the two clubs. In hindsight, it wasn't much of a surprise, as the club was noticeably gaining in age. Three of the starting four were over the age of 30, and although the trio had played a long time together, they also conceded leads in big games.

'I wish all the best to Ray Goddard and the rest of his career, Villa have a battle-tested defender in their hands. He's played all of his matches in the top flight, so he should be very capable in Division 1. We may even see him again next season.'

'Right now, we are still searching for that elusive superstar defender in our squad, to complement our core. Benicio Correa looks like the next player to lead our backline, and it will be necessary to give him a capable partner.'

Before the press conference ended, a cheeky, young reporter had one final question.

'Sean7, isn't it true that you had transfer listed Afonso but later retracted it because you weren't getting enough funds for the player? I've got quotes from several clubs that you engaged them in discussions of a possible move.'

Sheepishly, the manager gave pause for a moment thinking of a response. Finally, he said
'This game is all about mind-games. I didn't want the other managers to actually think they were getting Afonso, just merely wish it. It is nice to have fantasies sometimes. Like your mother, I know she fantasizes about calling me, setting up a getaway to São Paulo, along a sunset beachshore. But we both know that cannot happen.'

'Doesn't mean she didn't try though.'

Four security guards had to restrain the furious reporter, as Sean7 casually walked away.

Stanley News

Stanley lost there first pre season going down 3-2 at Splott Rovers.

After the match Markham said "There are more positives than negatives to come out of the match , the form of Beckham has been superb scoring 4 goals in the 3 friendlies played so , the defence are still getting to know each other but overall i believe we are stronger now than we were at the end of the season"

Stanley have one more friendly lined up before the start of the season away at Tottenham on Tuesday

Ins and Outs

Town News

Morley have made a few changes this pre season as they hope to acheive their goal of promotion into Division 2 in the new season, defender Mattias Beni was sold to raise funds for new signings and training over the close season.

Frej von Sydow and Maart Kuiper have been signed on long term deals and two young Midfielders have been promoted from the youth team, sixteen year olds Kingsley Jagger and Morgan Law the lucky players to have signed for the club they have supported from childhood.

Start Build Up Youth

Pahang coach realized that youth is the biggest assets for all football team and better future.

Hence, he brought in few youth from transfer market that he think look promising in near future.

Hope everything goes fine.

Dim-Redneck contract talks 'going well"

Dimentis says contract talks with Josh Redneck are ongoing, and going well.

The center-Mid has been in exceptional form ever since he relinquished the captaincy 1 month ago but his current deal expires at the end of the season.

Dim hinted a few weeks back that he may relax his well-established 'over-30s' rule to keep Redneck at Bayern by offering him more than a one-year contract.

And, speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, the manager revealed that recent talks had been positive.

"Yes, it's going well," he said.

"Let's keep the negotiations confidential. If we get to a conclusion, we will let you know. At the moment, I think it's better we don't talk about it.

"It is not long ago [since we last held talks], a week ago, something like that."

United raring to go

Underdogz United manager Izuka has just announced that Underdogz United are officially ready for the start of the new season. United will kick off the new campaign by hosting Santos FC at the Surprise Stadium. United look a whole different side from the side that drew 0-0 with Bumerang at the end of last season with Izuka, true to his words, giving his whole strike force a makeover as well as bringing in ThunderCats midfield pair Ornelas and Borja. In defence, there is hardly any change with only Victor Valdezuka leaving to raise funds, and young Fritz Alvelin brought in in his place.

All Was Quiet

All has been quiet at Totaalvoetbal over the past week or so as the season draws ever nearer.

With Robin Meeblind waiting on his lazy youth coach to deliver a back-up ‘keeper he decided to tend to personal matters over the last seven days.

The players have been doing plenty of work on the training ground in his absence to prepare them for the opening day and the new signings are said to be settling into life at Metelo Park very nicely.

Expect the excitement to build over the coming week in what promises to be the toughest top flight season to date.

Kirkbride too good, but fight still on

Viking Land News

Kirkbride Strollers were too good in the first leg of the rmi cup final and now hold a 3-1 lead going into the 2nd leg.

Vikings Manager Eaglesrjh knows it will be tough to overcome this defecit but the away goal gives us a chance and we will be going for it in the 2nd leg.

Arsenal UK 2 - 1 wortley afc

Arsenal had a good pre-season friendly against fellow division 2 boys wortley afc. Arsenal had nearly twice as many shots on goal so they feel they should of got more goals but they were up against a strong side.

A couple of players had their debut and they impressed from start to finihs. Brown has high hopes for his team this season

AJ Olders

Kensington Boys Club are once again in the 1st division but will hopefully do a better job of it this season.
They face AJ Rovers next week who are compensating what they are lacking in form by being the outright oldest team in the entire league system.

KBC will hope not to break any hips and grab vital points in this retirement home away fixture, right after the Bingo.

I love it when a plan comes together

In 1972, a crack coaching unit was sent to prison by a Football Association court for a crime they didn't commit (probably). They promptly escaped from a minimum security stockade to the Birmingham underground. Today, still wanted by Fifa, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no-one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the Pad Team.

*que up beat up tempo rock music that is very familiar to but in no way related to the A team theme tune*

Led by Paddy "Hannibal" Mckeever a master of tactics and disguise which helps him to tactically outwit his opponents and also makes his players behave as they never know when he could be watching, these unorthodox but loveable characters have pitched up at Padston Villa, a club that was in dire straights and needed help. Using only the contents of a garden shed and some hose pipes they have built a state of the art training complex and youth facility which is the envy of clubs around the world.

The rest of the "Pad Team" consists of:

Assistant manager Ronan "Face" Keating, he is nicknamed "Face" because of his ability to use his looks to charm female chief executives around the world during transfer negotiations.

First team coach Macho Man Randy "B.A." Savage, he is nicknamed "B.A." as he will never stand for players having a "Bad Attitude". He used his skills with a blow torch to pretty much single handedly assemble the clubs new facilities. A fantastic coach who the players have a healthy fear for, his only weakness is a fear of flying. For the clubs games abroad he can be heard shouting "I aint getting on no plane" the rest of the "Pad Team" tend to slip a sedative into his milk and stick him in the cargo bay of the plane, waking him upon his arrival. Like I said these guys are unorthodox.

And last but not least we have club physiotherapist, doctor and transport manager Judi "Howling Mad" Dench. The rest of the team regularly refer to her as crazy and she tends to use that craziness to motivate injured players during their rehabilitation and to diffuse any rows between the management and players. She is also a trained pilot and flies one of the clubs fleet of planes to take the team to away games.

They have been heavily pursued by Sepp Blatter, Michel Platini and their many goons but after a crazy gun fight that the heavily outnumbered "Pad Team" won where somehow not one single person got remotely hurt, despite many explosions including a helicopter crashing into a mountain, a car full of people hurtling 400ft off a cliff and a bunker massively exploding they have finally agreed to back off. Though if Padston Villa fail to achieve promotion they said they will be back.

The "Pad Team" haven't been at Padston Villa long but their unorthodox methods seem to be working. Maybe they can finally stop running and put down some roots at this once terrible but now great club. We look forward to the season commencing.

Balancing Act

Gooners are still carrying out transfers close to the season kick off and sources inside Highbury are suggesting there is still more new faces to come. FMR was chasing playmaker Edu but the deal has come to a halt regarding the transfer fee, although talks are on going. With the season approaching quickly FMR decided not to take any risks and bring in Rocastle to blanace the Midfield.

As Rocastle came through the doors of Highbury it was a different story for Kevin Campbell as the manager lost patience with the players lack of goals and lack of effort in training. Campbell was sent on a season long loan to Reggae Reggae Sauce in division three, in a bid to speed up his development and get him some first team football. The manager said he will follow Campbell's season and if he sees sufficient improvement, he will get a second chance but as Gooners look to head in to division one next term you have to wonder wether Campbell has it in him to become a world class striker. The Highbury scouts have also been seen watching some very young strikers and should FMR make a move on one of these young talents then Campbells return would most likely be short lived anyway.

Heres what FMR had to say on this weeks events.

We are still in talks over Edu and he will be returning to Highbury, the player has requested a transfer but Corinthians are stalling on the deal and we are not going to be held to ransom in this inflated market. Wether he comes now, mid season or next season we are not sure but i can assure you we will complete the team with Edu and are not tracking any other play makers.

As for Campbell i shall be in constant contact with Xpertelevener to see how his season progresses, the main thing i would like to see is that he scores lots of goals if he is able to get a run of games that we cannot provide him with season. I hope the Reggae Reggae Sauce will look after him and return him in good shape, if so i maybe willing to do such a deal again in the future with one of my young starlets.

We are also happy to welcome Rocastle into the team but he will need sometime to get into shape as his season finished sometime ago and its been awhile since he trained. All the new faces will play in tonights game including Rocastle and i hope they are welcomed by our fantastic supporters. As for the first game of the season its doubtful wether any would be called upon, a place in the starting eleven will need to be earned in training! It will be interesting to see how these new faces gel into the team and as always i expect at the very least for them to give Smurfs a hard time, wether they can get a result remains to be seen.

As for our scouts looking at young strikers its true, im currently looking to bring a very young raw talent that can be shaped into a Gooners/RMI legend. Why Henry is still here it makes perfect sense for us to bring in an under study. Although this young player would need all the right qualities to begin with, this would be more important than his level of ability to me and there is no rush to bring him into the team with Henry, Wright and Wiltord we have all the fire power we need currently. So our supporters should not expect a new mega signing but instead a young player that maybe in three seasons time will be ready to lead the line.

Nearly There

With the seson approaching, Cony Tottee once again laid out his plan to try and bring the youth players through.

Cony said 'It's been tough on the fans watching us get stuffed every week but hopefully it will all be worth it in the long run when our players hit top form'.

Player involved in a car accident.

Fran Mérida was involved in a serious motorway accident yesterday, and his car came within inches of being crushed by a huge lorry. Despite serious damage to his vehicle, Fran Mérida miraculously escaped unharmed. The experience has given Fran Mérida a new-found respect for life, and he is determined to make the most of everything. As a result, he throws himself into training and his form soars.

Going well!

Bully Boys FC are looking very strong as they prepare for their first game of the season which will be away against Juventus on the 29th.

Cathal Brennan said that he is confident that his side will get something out of the game.

The side will be in very very very good nick going into the side and they need their performance to match their form!!!!

Tough start for the Amateurs

Yorkshires Amateurs were given the toughest possible start back in the top division. They face 4 away games in their first 5 matches which will be a severe test of their mettle in an increasingly competitive league.
Their only home match in these fixtures is against champions West Brom Strollers, it is fair to say that theirs will be a baptism of fire and manager Danlufc13 will have to ensure his team hit the ground running to pick up points early on.

slowly slowly catchy monkey!

THe Smurf is currently finding himself a frustrated man.

Direct transfers have not gone thru as either clubs want too much for their players or choose to sell them elsewhere.

The transfer markets a pain, can only list 3 players at once and can still only bid on 2 players to take me up to the 20 players even though 3 are for sale!!

This means that the team is not coming together as quickly as would have been liked and we will have to hope that the slower approcah of selling first and then buying will pay dividends in the long run.

Shuttlewood in debut against former club

Rod Shuttlewood made an exceptional debut against his old team Padston, setting up 2 of the goals in a 3-1 away win for Splott. At the end of the game he went into the centre-circle and cupped his hands to his ears Tevez stylee in a clear signal to his former manager Paddy. Rumours are going around that players are desperate to leave Padston after carbonmonoxide received a text from former player Remy Gambit begging him to sign him back. Luckily for Gambit, AFC Stanley came in for him and we wish him success in the top division.

After the game carbonmonoxide said he was surprised by the player's reactions as he thought Paddy was a decent guy "there's obviously a lot going on behind the scenes I don't know about - players are coming and going everyday but I'm sure Paddy will get his side settled soon. As for us, I'm delighted to have Shuttlewood in our side and I hope he continues in this vein of form"

Paddy was unavailable for comment, saying he had to consult his magic eightball about who to sign next.

come on

This team is getting on my nerves. last game proved this. Team played like they wanted to draw. but hopefully the team can keep up their form so that the future looks good as there are a lot fo young talented players. but getting into division one is the first priority after this preseason. who won the cup by the way?

Setting Boundries

Sheikh Zayed Stadium wasn't a bad spot as stadiums go. Seats around 50k safely, could support many different sports functions and had a neat retractable roof. It wasn't the monster stadium you find in other locations but I don't have any complaints. Today is a perfect day for practice too. A light breeze, 75 degrees, and not a cloud in the sky. Winter weather in the UAE is almost always perfect. Still to warm for the suit jacket I chose to wear, so I decided to take it off. As I was setting it down on the bench the satisfiying sound of leather on leather as shoe struck ball stopped and I looked up.

The Sheik was crossing the pitch between the players who were standing aside repectfully to let him pass. As always the man exuded confidence and strength. His pristine white dishdasha and red checkered keffiyeh billowed behind him as he walked towards me with an easy grace. Its true, I'm jealous. With a charming smile and a handshake he greets me.

"What do you think of my team now that you have had a chance to see them play?" The Sheik asked me.

I paused for a moment, not sure how The Sheik would handle my raw thoughts and looking for words to soften the edges.

"There is a lot of good talent on this team Your Majesty. But very young talent and precious little to balance them out." I said diplomatically.

"Are you trying to tell me that you cannot win with this team?" The expression on his face did not change and his tone was neutral, but the look in his eyes told me all I needed to know about what he thought of that.

"Winning in our division will be difficult and I expect we will struggle for points most of the season. Though I do expect to bring home victories despite the fact that most of the teams we will be facing are both more skilled and more experianced. But no that was not what I was trying to say Your Majesty. I was asking you for money to try and purchase a few more experienced players to teach my youngsters how to kick the ball around. There was precious little money in the team accounts."

He gave me a sidelong glance that I couldn't quite read.

"You will have to make do with what you have and the 1.2 million I will give you each week. League restrictions, you understand." He waved his hand airly.

"League restrictions an influential man like yourself could not get waived?"

"League restrictions that an influential man like myself will not seek to circumvent on principle." Its hard to get angry at a man while at the same time he is earning your respect.

"Then I am going to sell Chalmers and Fraser. I will need the profits from those sales to keep the rest of the team in shape." I said quickly.

He paused for a moment and gave me another look.

"May I make a suggestion?" He said in a tone that said it wasn't a suggestion.

"As long as that is all it is Your Majesty." I tried to keep the tone of my voice respectful because so far the man had earned that much from me, but I was NOT going to be a figurehead coach.

"It is only a suggestion... this time." We locked eyes and stared hard, each testing the other's will. Without letting my eyes go he continued to speak.

"Sell Chalmers if you must, but keep Fraser. I believe that he has a great deal of potential having watched him play last season."

"I have already put both of them up on the market Your Majesty. If no one bites on Fraser I will keep him and see what can be made of him."

"I see. Very well then. But next time see me before making changes to the roster. I am... attached to my players."

"As you wish Your Majesty."

Turning back to the players and their practice I breath an internal sigh of relief. That went better than I expected it to.

FMR Delivers

Gooners fans have had much to get excited about recently with many new quality signings during this transfer window. After last seasons disappointment, the manager called on the fans to see the bigger picture and promised to deliver a team capable of taking the Divion Two title and progressing through Divison One. These were big asks of the new coach as there was no money in the coffers and many a fan thought he would have to sell many of their star players!

FMR has delivered on both his promises though whilst only selling two players he has managed to bring in four, whats more amazing is the two replacements are of a higher standard and bought at the same cost and then there are two midfilders who cost a combined total of eight million econ, This is not bad going for a club who were on the brink of bankruptcy last season after chasing promotion and a title.

These players include:

Cesc Fabregas 21 year old midfielder, who maybe one of the hottest young prospects currently in the RMI, FMR will hope he has a good season and can join Lang and Bergkamp next season in the middle of the park and learn his trade from two old masters. Fabregas shows alot of potential but has yet to find the finishing product... something that should come with age and experience. He is still one to keep an eye on this season and is sure to make a name for him self very soon.

Tony Adams 34 year old Defender, this signing is a stroke of genius with alot of players coming through the ranks in defence it never made sense to add a long term player here and set back the careers of the likes Bould. What they needed was an experienced head and a player to take them into Division One, Adams fits that bill perfectly.. a beast of a centre back who still looks fit at 35 and slots in perfectly. He even scored on his Gooners debut FMR must be happy with this signng and the fans have already forgiven him for releasing Lauren.

Igor Akinfeev 20 years old Goal Keeper, for some time now there has been a worry around the camp that after the manager let Lukic go he was unable to replace him as keepers are fetching a premium on the market currently. With FMR looking for a world class keeper with little funds to play with and Seaman getting no younger the fans began to talk after FMR trialed a host of inexperienced youth. Their main concern being that the younger talents wouldnt be honed in time for Seamans retirement and should Seaman become injured or for a player that young to gain experience he would end up being more of a liability. FMR was obviously more than aware of their concerns and Akinfeev was an astute buy, he is the perfect age and ability to play if called upon and has the perfect qualities to make him a future Gooners legend and will learn alot from one of the best in Seaman. He cost 200,00 more than Lukic was sold for and has alot more potential.

Gooners and FMR are currently chasing their last senior transfer of the window in Eduardo César Gaspar and FMR would love nothing more than to see this midfielder return home to Highbury. The deal is almost finalized and he would add much depth to the squad in terms of skill, experience, playmaking and goals. Edu is now 35 years old and again would be a short term signing, which makes perfect sense as Pires, Cesc and Overmars come through. He is said to be thrilled with the opportunity to come home to a club which is still beating in his heart and would love nothing more than to retire in London. Gooners will know wether they have aquired his services at tonights 12am deadline.

FMR had this to say of his new signings:

I hope i have now delivered on my promise to the fans and they are as happy and as excited as we are about the coming season. My goal was not to disturb the balance already within this squad and only add depth and strength to it. We already have the core of the team and that will remain the same players such as Lang, Bergkamp, Sol, Dixon & Henry are fantastic players, what i have done is add to the youth and made us less totally reliant on certain team members.

Our next game against smurfs we will use to introduce all the players properly to the fans! Then we have our first match versus PSV at home and with this being my first full season in charge i have the intention of setting a pace that others will need to follow if they want to challenge us. It goes without saying we will again look to entertain our fans also and produce the same style of tantilizing football as last season.

Looking at the fixture list this season we have a nice run and should be in a commanding position by the time we face our rivals and that fantastic derby clash versus Arsenal UK. We must use this to our advantage and take all we learnt from last season and apply it if we are to win. It is not an easy Division to come out on top of but i feel confident we will be more than a match for anyone if we stay on top of our game an steer clear of injuries to our important players.

Gallas Moves On

Arsenal paid tribute to Gallas this morning as the talented defender has swapped the emirates for the paddy dome. A move which sees Gallas move up to division 1 and Marcel Desailly move to Arsenal in division 2 once all the paperwork is complete.

Desailly is a highly skilled and very experienced player, two qualities that Arsenal boss Brown has been looking for. “We score a lot of goals but we let too many in, my focus has been to bring in a strong defender to help out at the back and Marcel Desailly fits the bill perfectly”

Brown would like to thank the Padston Villa manager for making the transaction an easy one and hopes Gallas aid’s their promotion run.

Anime Allstars FC update

New team name, new team logo and many new names but in some cases still the old faces. In with the new and out with the old has been Joshy's motto. The average age of the sqaud as dropped and Joshy is clearly building for the future. After he vowed the spending was over again he dipped his hands into his pockets and spent more money. The Econ is running low but belife runs high.

In their second from last pre-season friendly Anime Allstars FC traveled to the Santiago Bernabeu where they faced top flight giants Real Madrid FC under the clever guidence of FredRizzo who got the club promoted last season following a great season which saw them end up as runners up of Divison 1. To the credit of Real Madrid FC they did controll large periods of the match and looked set to record a victory. Nothing is certain in football and the visitors were to leave the Santiago Bernabeu with a result. Joshy didn't play all his youngsters but there were quite a few out on show and same went for the hosts. It ended 1-1 but it didn't tell the full story.

On the 67th minute Mai Tokiha bundled the ball into her own net gifting the hosts a 1-0 lead but it had been coming. Heads might of dipped but not from this ever changing team. Just 2 minutes later and it was 1-1 Luna Gusuku spared Mai's blushes as she headed home from close range to make it all sqaure and despite Real Madrid FC's best efforts Anime Allstars FC held on to record a fine draw.

The pre-season is coming to end but Anime Allstars still have unfinished buisness with 1863 Munich when they tarvel to The 1863 Fortress where Joshy lashed out at Anderson after rejecting a invitation to come to Mojo Arena but responded by offering a invitation to The 1863 Fortress Joshy excepted and had these comments on his build up to the coming season...

"Things are going well and we might not been done in the transfer market just yet. Friendly result are not too important as it gives the managers a chance to try a few things before the new season starts. I myself am happy with the progress the club has been making and one final touch will take place before kickoff day. As for ANderson rejecting my invite to come to Mojo Arean and then offer me one back instead i do not mind at all i will face hime where-ever it is not my problem if he is scared of Mojo Areana. The opening day of the season is when we see how we stack up when it really counts. Id be fibbing if i said this pre-season friendly against Anderson's side means nothing but i would like to go away with a result. "

NEWS JUST IN: we can also reveal the new name for the stadium will be The Hayao Miyazaki Stadium named after one of the most famous Anime directors ever and in his own field of work refeared to as a God.

Cup fever hits Kirkbride

Kirkbride Strollers claimed their place in the cup final with a fine 3-2 victory away at Pahang United. Two goals from Mark Simpson and one from Billy Maneater saw off the lower league team. The game was a bit easier for the Strollers than the final result looks with chances going 12 to 5 in favour of the top league side.

Manager Jazza1958 was delighted after tha match and said " We had an early shock but the lads pulled together and ran out deserved winners. We know how difficult the final will be against The Vikings and 2 close games are going to be fought out.."

The league games last season were mirror images of each other with both home sides winning 2-0.

Padston Villa a selling club?

Responding to claims that Padston Villa are heavily in debt due to Owner/Manager/Mascot Paddy Mckeevers failed investments, Paddy had this to say:

"Its true, we're in desperate need of the cash, the club received a winding up order and the league have withheld our television payments to pay money we owe to other clubs. I'm not really sure how this happened, I mean less than a month ago I had a billion pounds, why oh why did I invest it all in cheese rope! I thought if people liked cheese string they would love cheese rope! I probably should have tasted it first before I invested every penny I had, though I'm glad I didn't after all those people died who did. Who'd have guessed that cheese and acid don't make for a great snack?"

When asked if the sale of Remy Gambit and the proposed sale of Dustin Moss would allow his side to remain competitive in the coming season, Mckeever said

"They were two players I'd hoped to keep at the club for the next ten years but selling them gives this club a great future, I've now hired a magic eight ball to make all my financial decisions in the future to avoid anything like this happening again, the only consolation is the players are going to other clubs in the league so maybe we can bring them back one day."

Mckeever the new Redknapp?

We asked Paddy Mckeever what he thought about being compared to Harry Redknapp in the press, due to all of his wheeling and dealing.

"I can't believe you think I'm so ugly and dodgy!" Paddy said in between tearful sniffles.

We passed him a packet of tissues and after blowing his nose loudly and messily he passed us the now disgusting tissues back and managed to stifle his crying long enough to carry on talking.

"When I saw the headline in the papers, "Mckeever likened to Redknapp", I thought they meant Jamie, I mean we're both handsome chaps, we've both had a lot of fun with Louise Redknapp, we both played in midfield and we've both advertised the Nintendo Wii, though my advert didn't make people want to stab themselves in the eye"

We then explained that Mckeever was likened to Redknapp for the amount of wheeling and dealing he had done throughout the pre season and not for his looks or excessive use of "triffic" which language experts have told us actually means "terrific"

Mckeever carried on crying for a while but explained he had been watching The Notebook with his squad in a bid to make them bond and more sensitive towards each other, though seeing as his squad were nowhere to be seen and we were at his home we're pretty sure he was lying.

Finally he turned to us and replied "Well that's ok then, as long as nobody thinks I look like Harry Redknapp or suspects me of tax evasion I'm happy and I'll continue to wheel and deal and if occasionally some of the money ends up in my own bank account then that's just the way it'll have to be!"

Summer Training Gone To Plan!

F.C Greatness have had a quiet summer, with only 23 year old Casian Ponor coming in. Ponor the attacking defender comes in as a suprize to the fans. But Calvert ensure he'll come a great player at the club, as he as every attributes that the club are looking for in a player.

We asked who will standout in 2010:
I have to say that Cristian D'Agostino as come on amazing at the club, at 24 he's very talented in defense and going forward, defiantly a key player at the club. Talk about talented younger Massimiliano Cardone is another that as comes in last season and impressed. Hard working and priced at nearly 13 million a lot of team are watching him. I see a lot of Colluato in him, he's gonna see a lot more playing time this season and become a star.

Happy to keep Fabrizio Colluato:
Well Fabrizio is our star man at the club, Greatness born and he as no ambition leaving the club. It was true that RobinMeBlind and the club approached us about Fabrizio, and others. Which will happen, he's one of the best midfielders in the league and coming into his prime.

Were do you see the team this season:
Were always a team that is looking for promotion leaving RM Division hurt us and the players had scares from it last season. But were hungry and so is the fans and summer as helped us. Trianing in Africa as been amazing and as worked on the players fitness, including watching the Africa cup of nations too. The reports are not true that we were scouting for talent. We were just admiring the football. And now were back! we have a little friendly with Underdogz United and Uzi which will be fun tomorrow and building up to fridays first game of the season.

Division 1 - Attempt 1

So it's been two promotions on the trott for Carthage Fc as Blakey0500 takes on divsion 1 for the first time.

With an 'overall' 2nd strongest team in the league Blakey0500 will be pretty confident of success yet again.

Blakey0500 stated 'This will be our hardest season yet, it's looking a very very tight division and anything could happen from relegation to promotion, however as always our expectations are to be right there at the top.

The first game is at home to Bumerang in a game that Blakey0500 expects 3 points from, Blakey0500 is said to fear no team and fully expect a strong start to the season. With no poorly skilled youths this season, our team won't need to be compromised in certain games, those on high form, will play no matter what.

The season gets underway soon and Carthage FC have been raring to go for some weeks.

Beware of the Hannibal.

180!

Town News

After being knocked out of the pre season cup Town News have decided not to report on the previous match but have decided to concentrate on something much more interesting,

Art Boyle decided to enter a darts tournament for a lark and not only discovered a natural talent for the game, but won the tournament. The player was so delighted to find a new hobby and his sucess in the tornament that his form improves.

It looks like Art will have a new career once his Football career comes to an end.

Semso Glavina and his Jelly baby fetish

It started when I was a young boy, living at my ma's flat in Leyton. My old man bought me a bag of Jelly babies as a treat, as a 5 year old I scoffed the lot... since then I've been hooked on them.

As I grew older and got into football I started eating them before, during and after matches. Obviously I'd get a few odd looks from the spectators but I didn't care, Mr Yellow baby always gave me that boost I needed during a match. Never a black one though, oh no, that would give me the runs.

In my early teens I tried to cut back on them as at that point in my life I was starting to attract a few football scouts so i didn't want to scare them away. Then Arsenal came knocking. My mates told me that Arsenal have a habit of signing fetuses when they're young, how could I say no?

Four years into my career at Arsenal, the cracks were starting to show, I was diagnosed with Diabetes and I just went from one bad experience to another. I attended rehabs, physiatrists, even the legend Tony Adams said I was a lost cause. Paul Merson was no help either, he told me to make the most of it while I can.

Arsenal dumped me soon as I turned 25, I then got out of football all together for a few years, then Tottenham gave me some hope a few weeks back. I don't think the new gaffer understands my addiction, he has no patience with me so I have to leave to find a new club.

"If anyone would like to buy this freak off me, just give me a buzz as I'll listen to ANY offer!" said ocs18.

New Season Approaches

With the new season underway, and the first game coming closer and closer, Dream Team are confident. MrJames believes he is one of the strongest sides. "This, combined with good tactics could win me a league."

"However" he says, "I will not grow complacent about my position in the heirarchy. This is still a competition and many teams can take away my glory, just like some teams had done the previous season."

Does MrJ have a reason to be complacent? This can only be judged with opinion. However, statistically the team have every chance of becoming the Division 2 victors.

Gooner Get His Man?

There have been some interesting moves both by managers and players recently in division two of the RMI abd there have been many bold statements by some of the teams claiming to have title aspirations. Some have been so bold as to say the other teams will need some form of luck in next seasons fixtures, which have now beeen drawn and are there for all fans to see.

Coach FMR on the other hand has played something of a joker in Thomas Cruise and has played his hand very close to his chest and not unlike a devious poker player he knows that everything may yet be decided in the turn and river cards. Gooners made a record signing in Fabregas which was a player that stated their intent for the future.. but whilst the others may believe they have what it takes now to challenge the in form Gooners, FMR may yet have a suprise or two in store for his rivals.

FMR had this to say:

Well it has been an interesting pre season and as we head into the next one i think most business or the main part of it from other teams has been done and while im impressed with some of what has gone on behind the scenes.. i still beleive we are the ones to beat if you want to get your hands on silverware this season. As for Thomas Cruise and some of the others that have been on trial here, i will have to admit that they were to make us look weaker than we currently are! As you can see now the real strength is now shown and our last deals wont be done until the dying moments before the season and possibly just after.

I promised the fans much at the end of last season and im still intent on delivering that promise, I think the squad can already challenge any team in any division and certainly is on the brink of producing some great players that would see us overtake the likes of Dream Team and all our other rivals imho. Although our main focus obviously is getting these younger players to the next division so we can get the most from them as they come through and its an exciting time for this club, if you look around at the younger players we have. With this in mind I have sat back and sized the other teams up and i have been putting funds together to ensure we have the required squad to get us through what looks to be a tough season!

Having evaluated the opposition for sometime i feel ready to make a decision on the players we require to complete the team but we wont be rushed into buying them and as I've said I aready feel comfortable with what we have.... so it will be a priority not to upset the balance of the team and make sure these players strengthen the squad and can slot straight in.

For all our fans i can confirm we are making moves on the first of these players and that the player will add alot of options tactically.. i cant say more than this at this time and as always I ask for patience. The philosophy will be the same as last season to remain strong and as a unit but to be inventive and attacking wherever possible, we plan to entertain but must keep our dominating style of play. Last season the players gave me 150% and i am sure this season they will continue to put themselves on the line for this set of goals we have set ourselves!

Our message to the other teams is a clear and simple one, we wiont give an inch this season and our goal is silverware we intend to go into division one on a high and at full momentum. We will put everything on the line to get there and will show no weakness this time round. Every player in the squad is now at a stage where they can play and therefore we have no excuses and i have none prepared. I came here as a rookie but am now ready to make full use of this fantastic squad and together we will reach where we want to be. We will be better equipped this time round and we intend to set off at full pace, we will match any strength and technically we are blessed in all departments and I assure you that we are certainly more prepared than anyone will have anticipated!

Snnooozzzeee!

A stats of apathy has fell upon These Charming Men due to the transfer activity around the the place.

Once again fans have waited with baited breath to see whether boss RDCM dips his hand in his pocket......

It seems not once again.

Roll on 29th January ;)

Deal Finalised

Cathal Brennan has been offered a 5 seasons contract at the club in which the club wants him to finish in as a strong member of the top division. This will entail 2 promotions.

Brennan himself set a goal of winning the league!

Afonso on the Move?

In a strange development that adds to the peculiarity surrounding the club, sources have learned that defensive midfielder and team captain Marcelo Afonso has been transfer listed on the market. While this may be a shock at any other club, for Santos, it's just another day at the club.

However, unlike previous instances where a player left due to poor performance or sexual deviancy, the reason for the potential sale is unclear. Afonso has been a mainstay at the club since its inception, playing the 3rd most matches in club history. Afonso is not a man of many words during media conferences, only saying the right things. His under-rated but effective defensive play on the pitch has helped the defence immensely, while adding further potency to the Santos attack. He has not been involved in any scandals, and regularly contributes to the community through various charities and events. Naturally, news of the transfer has angered many Santos supporters, saying the manager and board have 'lost the plot', and comparing the ineptitude of Sean7 to Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez.

'Remember Xabi Alonso? remarked Gavin Stacy, head of the Santos Supporters Trust. Last season, Liverpool competed to 2nd spot, and after the season didn't think they needed his abilities. Yet when he's gone, they were worse off for it, they aren't even in qualification!. I fear the same situation is happening here, and it will take alot for Sean and the board to re-gain the supporter's trust. We aren't a debt ridden club, so why the need to sell one of our top players, especially our captain?'

'I've always supported Santos and Sean7's policies for a long time, said another un-named supporter. He took us from a midtable Division 2 side to a competitive force in the RMI. But if this move happens, I hope this will be the last season for the gaffer. We need someone with a bit more sense!'

Afonso, in his usual typical indifferent demeanor, shrugged off suspicicions that he would be playing for a new club before the season began.

'Whatever happens, will be in the best interests for the club. My family and I have been here for a long time, my kids born and raised here. I would be sad to go, but I understand this game is a business.'

Manager Sean7 was not available for comment.

Stanley Update

Pre -Season has gone ok , last season scoring goals were not a problem it was the other end of the pitch , from having one of the best defences the season before last we have turned full circle to having one of the worst last seaon.

Left my forwards alone apart from sacking youth . Midfield introduced Beckham with the world cup this year he needed games under his belt in an attempt to get in the World Cup Squad and he gladly accepted my offer . Should be very competitive in midfield this season.

Defence will be the key for the coming season , there was speculation about Wallman leaving but he has signed a new contract , brought in Richards who will be a huge success , still feel we need a quality defender hopefully before the start of the season we will have one on board.

This league gets tougher and tougher.

Bargain!

Underdogz United have pulled off a huge bargain with the signing of Fritz Alvelin today. The young goalkeeper cost United only 260 000 econ but has produced world class performances in his rare appearances for his old club, and is still in his developmental phase.

"We're very pleased with Fritz. He will wear the number 12 jersey, and hopefully he can produce similar performances to the ones that convinced us to sign him," said Izuka to reporters earlier today.

Totaal Cruz-ing Towards Season Start

Excitement was building at Metelo Park last night as two more signings came on the back of the league being set-up by admin Eaglesrjh.

Jaap Cruz arrived at Totaalvoetbal bringing with him a wealth of experience to a backline which, in truth, was in desperate need of it. It is believed that the 35-year-old defender owes much of his success to a dedication in training not seen in many of his counterparts.

Meanwhile, Nicholaus de Bilde slipped in almost unnoticed in a 426k deal to provide back-up to the strikers whilst also looking to develop his own career. Scouts picked up on his thunderbolt right foot and while he might not feature too many times in the coming season he is sure to learn much from messrs Dean, Izuhimovic and van Diemen.

Robin Meeblind explained he was still on the lookout for a backup ‘keeper but was happy to bring in Cruz after a long search:

‘We’ve had disappointments in our search for a defender,’ he began.

‘We’ve been outbid at the last minute, we’ve been foiled by the seller letting go hours before the deadline just as we were biding our time, we’ve seen negotiations within the league be fruitless so patience has been the key. This may be the key as we look for cover for Leemans too.

‘Thankfully, this patience has paid off and we hope Jaap will do a professional job in there.’

Meeblind went on to speak about the excitement of seeing the season’s fixtures laid out:

‘Firstly, Eagles has done a magnificent job in replacing managers and we look to have a great batch ready for Season Six. At the club we want to send our thanks for his hard work.

‘Secondly, could he have given Totaal a much tougher start? We have last season’s top six in the first six games. We’ll certainly know where we stand when we have finished with that little lot.

‘We wouldn’t have it any other way, though.’

cup progress

Viking Land News

The Vikings are having a nice run in the preseason cup, progress has been made to the semi finals and the managers competitive streak is out as he would like to be known as the cup winner, but there are still 3 other very good teams in the way, first up a very difficult game against santos FC

out but in

Got dumped out of the cup on attempts on goal. tough going that. but the new season is drawn and it is looking like the team has to work hard to gain promotion. but the team is improving year by year even with the lose of greats liek wainman. but first we need to train for the hard first game against greatness.

AJ Rovers mission

AJ Rovers will set their target to qualify for RM Invitational next season. therefore all the players, management and supporters must support the club and qualify. Rovers will open the account by facing Kensington Boys Club at AJR Arena on 29th of january.

CUP. Semifinal

Boss Pahang United can't believe that his team able to go this far and saw the real challange has come.

Pahang United is the only team that come from the lower division and still confident that his team gonna make it to final.

I do hope I win this cup but going this far is very good enough.

The Smurf lands!

The Smurf has landed and appoiinted himself the saviour of the hun haters!!

The first act will be to get rid of this name, pending approval the team will be renamed the "Smurftastic Smurfs"

Rebuilding work will need to be done, 2 players have already had their marching orders and a few more are likely to be in the dole queue or sold off soon as the new manager battles one of the worst change reports imaginable!

Money is available though and between a few purchases and form training we should get this squad back on track!

Thanks for the invite and for the warm welcome from the admin and a few others too.

New Name, New Place

Departing the Eitihad plane at Abu Dhabi international I am once again struck by the luxury and service that they provided. Despite the fact that the flight from Heathrow was 14 hours and I am ready to sleep for a week I have a smile on my face. As I pass through customs the state of the art digital cameras find my face and continiously take detailed photographs as the customs agent glances at my face and compares it with my paspport photo. The agent isn't rude but he has to look at me three times before he stamps my passport. I can't blame him really as I look nothing like that picture anymore. I expected to see the small man with the peice of paper with my name on it where he would take me to the hotel, but this time not so.

To my utter surprise, standing there alone and confident without body guards or entourge, was The Sheik himself. Which sheik you ask? That is always an important question when in the UAE as there are more sheiks than you can shake a stick at. The truth of the matter though is that I will have to leave you wondering as I have been told, in no uncertian terms, that I am not allowed to say. So have fun speculating. He welcomed me with a warm smile and a hand shake. Despite being royalty he was warm, respectful and pleasent in his demeanor. Having been brought up in a democracy who seperated from a monarchy there has always been preconcieved ideas about royalty and The Sheik shattered them all in a moment.

The drive into the heart of Abu Dhabi was... exciting as it always is for those of us from America. They didn't drive as badly as europeans but I did still fear for my life on one or two occasions. The road construction was just as bad as I remembered it. The Sheik let me know that while all the arrangments had been made for me to take over his newly purchased team, my office and whatnot was not ready and that I would be working out of The Beach Rotana for a while. No skin off my back!

They dropped me off out front of the hotel and told me to be ready to go at 8 sharp, when they would pick me up and we would go visit the team. As always the bellhops were there to open the car door and and I went up to the executive lounge on the 18th floor. Despite the fact that I hadn't been back here in over a year, the people there called me by name without even looking. The servers brought me my black tea without even asking, and asked me how my trip had been. Did I mention that I really like this hotel? Looking out over the city scape I can seen that the place is still under heavy construction and that the crane is still the national bird. Even in poor economic times (and the UAE has been hit just like the rest of the world) they are still buidling like mad. Shaking my head I sign all the paperwork needed to agree that at least someone will pay the bill. I am told that all the files The Sheik left for me are waiting for me in my room and I head off to settle in and get some sleep.

Despite my exhaustion my heart is light and I can't help but feeling that this might be one of the better jobs I've picked up in my life.

RMI Legend Joins Bully Boys FC

5 seasons with high flying Villarreal CF. One RM Invitational league trophy won out of that. Cathal Brennan is already in the Hall of Fame.

Bossebong had turned Bully Boys FC into a great side but surprisingly the Finn left the club.

Cathal Brennan was appointed the new manager of Bully Boys FC in the early hours of the morning.

"A few days ago I was prepared for the season but I suddenly thought that I want to have fun this season and when this side came up I was constantly licking my lips.

I am happy to have the job at this club and my short term goal is to get promoted and my long term goal is to win the league. I am hoping to have that completed by the start of Season 11 but if not, it won't matter."

a few welcomes and changes

firstly a change of manager.

Cathalio11 has left Villarreal and headed to Kroklund Kings in div 2 after the surpirse resignation of bossebong.

Thesmurf comes to us from the newbie league and takes over the money, sorry i mean the team at hun haters. good luck and enjoy spending it!

also joining us is Talinmer who looks to be an excellent manager and also a good pr writer. he takes the job at Villarreal to continue on with cathalio's work! Good luck with that.

A big welcome to the league to both our new managers.

Richard

Change

It was all change this week for St Omer as four players left the club, while another four were brought in.

Cony Tottee had to sell some of his star names to ensure the money was available for training during the forth coming season, which will probably not be enough to see them close to promotion.

Jerome Housham shown the door

The goalkeeper club ledgend has decided to hang his gloves up for good after Joshy completed a player for player deal worth to be around 2 million Econ which has seen Ildo Rosadilla leave to Padston Villa and seen John Sapienza move to Mighty Mojos to beef up the Mojos defence. Housham decided to walk rather then be pushed it offically says sacked but he left on good terms as Joshy looks set on signing a much younger reserve keeper.

Also in the news recently is Mighty Mojo's Midfielder ace Ferdinand Quinn who has been linked to Gooners and Padston Villa, the Midfielder is set to be worth around 4.7 million Econ as of yet the club have not released any comments regaurding the rumours.

Arsenal youth shine

Arsenal's youth put in a good display as they beat FCR Cressex 3-0. Brown fielded all his youth players to try and gain abit of team working skills for the future, sometihng Brown plans to do more in the coming seasons.

Arsenal will look to more friendlies before the season starts and has opened the door to any invites

Momma Mia!

Paddy Mckeever dismissed his sides 2-1 defeat to Totaalvoetbal as "irrelevant, they are a fantastic side and we didn't expect to have a chance of beating them so for it to be so close for long periods we're delighted with that!"

Mckeever declared himself delighted with recent signing Mario Mckeever brother of club legend Luigi Mckeever. "Mario was amazing today, I didn't mention him when I discussed all the new players as I wanted him to earn a mention and some praise and he took his chance really well today! They dominated possession but as our defence, especially Remy Gambit were in such good form we managed to limit their chances but as they are such a quality side they only needed a few to beat us!"

"We hit them on the break and Mario scored a wonderful long range shot. I've shown my faith in him by shipping Johnny Douglas out of the club, when Johnny found out he wasn't in the starting line up he had a hissy fit and stormed off, he's not a temperamental player but I've been picking on him all week, he looks a lot like Ivan Drago from Rocky 4 so I've been making him say silly catchphrases and do the Ivan Drago training montage instead of normal training, it was one of the reasons I left him out of the side to be honest because all that messing about had worn him out, plus all the rumours about being reunited with Cath, it all got a bit too much for him I think."

"Mighty Mojos will be a wonderful home for him, he'll play regularly I'd imagine and he'll have a more supportive manager than me and I think he'll flourish. Its nice for Luigi to have another Mckeever to come in and play as he winds down his career, I've got high hopes that Mario may just become a club legend!"

Paddy declined to comment on rumours that Mario and Luigi Mckeever were italian relatives of his that he had brought into the country to play for Padston Villa and work for Paddy's plumbing business. The rumours suggest Paddy got to keep any signing on fee's and transfer fee's that were involved.

We don't wish to cast doubt on Paddy but it would explain how he managed to afford to develop a genetics lab that managed to produce a dog the same size as Clifford the big red dog. The dog which was named Paddington has been chained to the home ground of Padston Villa and guards the ground against terrorist attacks and away supporters who don't put their rubbish in the bins provided

swap shop

A few eyebrows were raised in Splott as carbonmonxoxide let top defender Gambit go to Padston and then paid an extra 750k to take wantaway midfielder Rodney Shuttlewood to Cardiff. In a frank interview for Splott weekly he said: "To be honest I wasn't even thinking of bidding for Shuttleworth, let alone lose a top defender in Gambit, but I was having a few pints of Brains SA with Paddy while the was in Swansea... personally I can't stand the stuff, they don't call it Skull Attack for nothing round here.... but anyway, I was a bit worse for wear and Paddy suggested the deal - in fact he asked for a bit more cash than I paid, the cheeky git, but luckily I hadn't finished my 10th pint and still had a little bit of awareness left in me... but seriously it's a great deal for both clubs, we still have 4 top defenders and I will endeavour to get some back-up in too, it also solves our midfield puzzle - there's a big age gap there and Badger & Punisher may well retire soon, we need to look for the future and Shuttlewood does that for us... also he can take a mean freekick and we didn't have any backup for Fantastic .. so all in all, once the hangover wore off, I was delighted

Shuttlewood shuttles off?

In what Paddy Mckeever described as a "David Unsworth moment" Rodney Shuttlewood has left Padston Villa after 7 days at the club.

"Rodney is a great bloke but clearly whipped and not the sharpest knife in the draw as he said his wife wanted him to be nearer to home, when he signed we were on our pre season tour of Swansea and I think he thought that's where the club was actually based, though I remember telling him many times we had to head back to birmingham, I think he thought that was some sort of punishment for the squad and in a way I guess it is!"

"He was in great form in training and in the one match he played for the club but realising his mistake he asked if he could possibly move, so I contacted our good friends in Cardiff, Splott Rovers and we worked out a mutually beneficial deal. They get Shuttlewood and we get Canadian international defender Remy Gambit and some cash, I must admit its a great deal for us making an instant profit and solving our defensive woes and I think given his form and ability its also a fantastic deal for Splott. There will be no hard feelings when we play them on tuesday"

When asked about his other transfer dealings Mckeever had this to say

"We needed a new long term keeper and I really liked the look of young Dustin Moss so we traded him with AFC Stanley for Micah Richards, Richards is one of my favourite players but we felt one good season would give Moss the chance to be our keeper for years to come and generally add to the long term value of the side."

"We also offloaded one of our highest earners in Sapienza and we got a decent amount of money for him and another good young keeper in Rosadilla, Rosadilla knows the score, he has a month to a season to show me he's worth his place in the squad otherwise we'll sell him on and overall that'll be very financially beneficial to this club."

"I also saved Tolkein from the dole que in a deal with another club we're friendly with Gooners and like Rosadilla he's got a month to a season to prove he's worth his place in this squad and if not we'll also make profit there enabling us to compensate for any retirements"

We also asked Mckeever about rumours Cathal Brennan favourite Johnny Douglas might be leaving the club so soon after joining

"Everyone at the club already loves Johnny, he's going to be a fantastic player if he gets a good season under his belt, its just that despite my billionaire status most of my money is tied up in shares of cheese rope. Its a cheese string alternative that hasn't really taken off so money is tight and there's a reasonable chance I'll be bankrupt soon. So if the right deal is available Johnny would probably be the one to go to raise money for some more quality in midfield and one or two younger players. We'll have to see what actually happens, I guess its Johnnys job to make himself indispensable and other clubs jobs to make a good deal! Though I have heard rumours if Cath leaves Villarreal he might be looking to be reunited with Douglas, though I don't know if he means in a transfer or if he just wants them to get back together after their turbulent yet loving relationship when Douglas played for Cath"

Asked why he had been so quiet for most of pre season Mckeever said
"I thought Cath had been doing enough talking for everyone and I've been pretty busy with my new album coming out, its got guest vocals from all the top singers and rappers, Chico, Andy Murray, John Barnes, Nelson Mandela, all the greats really! Also I tend to be busy making deals in pre season and also I'm pretty sane before the pressure of the season gets to me and I start eating lots of sweets with e numbers in and getting so drunk on shandy bass that I wake up four days later having missed the whole weeks training and trying to figure out how I'm going to find my way back in time for our next match when I've just woken up on a fish boat on a canal in Belgium!"

Mckeever still crazy? We think so but is he managerial genius? probably not! but we won't know for sure at least until the end of the season.

Amateurs draw at Carthage

Yorkshires Amateurs played out a rather uneventful 0-0 draw against Carthage earlier this week. Manager Danlufc13 was reasonably happy with the shut out having fielded an inexperienced side against Totaalvoetbal and being given a hiding.
Although results are of little importance in pre season some harsh words were handed out to the side. With the opportunity to build up form in pre season manager Danlufc13 will not want to repeat this performance when they square off against Bayern Munchen later today.

out the cup

Splott went out of the cup by one measly chance in a stunning 2-2 draw with Underdogz. All I can say is well done Izuka and hope you can go on to win it. We now have a friendly lined up against Padston Villa to keep the players match fit.

We are also in the market for a good midfielder around the 27-28 age mark who can add some depth to the midfield.

The Wright Stuff

After along time coming to a decision about Wright FMR has finally decided that he should remain at the club until retirement, something all Gooners fans will be happy to hear! After a long term injury last season and even though he never recovered his form fully he still managed to have an amazing goal ratio and big impact in the big games.

Add to this he is the only real threat Gooners possess from a dead ball it would have been a very brave decision to let him go at his current market value. FMR is still looking to add to his squad before the season kicks off but with limited budget he will have to spend wisely as Gooners still need three players to add depth to the squad.

Top of FMR's to buy list is a keeper and the scouts have been doing the rounds in order to find Seamans long term replacement, the way its looking they will have to bring in a youth player and hope seaman will play for atleast another two seasons and they will be in no hurry to let him go anyway having been a star performer last season.

In more upbeat news the youth team has produced something of massive potential in Marouane Chamakh a young eighteen year old striker. FMR has been waiting for a long time for something of his quality to come through the doors at Highbury and this young player will now heap more pressure on Campbell who has not been in the managers plans for sometime now. FMR is also aware that now he is creating a team very much based on the future and whilst this is part of his long term plan Gooners are intent on having a real go this season and may need one or two more experienced player in their line up, where FMR can get the money for such buys remains to be seen and time is not on his side.. it will be interesting to see what moves he makes in the following weeks.

Gooners played Wortley recently in a pre season friendly and were not troubled in any department and walked away with an easy 2 - 0 victory. FMR was quoted as saying the silly season is now over and its time to put another run together as we enter the new season, I have booked fixtures against many of our rivasl in Division two to see where we are and what needs rectifyng before, it's to late. Although we will save the real clashes for competetive games we dont want to spoil the occasions! Next up is Villarreal.. they were season one champions.. did you know. Its a game we will use to test our younger players ability to get a result and Cath is a manager i have yet to pit my wits aginst.. on the field anyway!

Arsenal left feeling abit dirty

Arsenal boss Brown had to take a series of showers after his friendly against West Brom Strollers where they managed a 1-1 draw.

Brown played a new formation of 5-3-2, a far cry from their normal attacking atyle but Brown felt he had to try new things, in doing so he felt dirty and violated afterwards

Defenderless

23-year old Stan Fitzgerald has left the club for just under 2 million econ. Patrikpatrik has come under some criticism for letting a talented defender go and the recent signing of Oscar Partridge and Decembers signing Frederick Smythe has put the manager under some pressure.
Kensington Boys Club are reportdedly in negotiations for a new player - possibly a defender - but as the club is quite strapped for cash it seems unlikely they will be able to compete as well as they had hoped for the next season.

preparation

AJ Rovers still looking for a new player for this season. unfortunately the financial constraint limiting the objective. so once again rover must rely on the same players and for the next season, they are planning to maintain their status in division 1.

Arsenal Face The Champs

Arsenal have been lined up to take on the Champs, West Brom Strollers. A repeat of the thrilling cup final last season were Arsenal somehow managed to pull the double over West Brom Strollers.

Brown is looking ofrward to this test and hopes that an extremely strong looking West Brom Strollers don't walk all over his team.

the Arsenal boss is a great admirier of West Brom Strollers and hopes to one day challenge them for the RMI title.

Joshy signs new 1 year contract

With less then 25 days left on his old VIP contract Joshy has finally put pen to paper and signed a new 1 year VIP deal which will keep him at Mighty Mojos . The news will no doubt make his enemies grin with glee at the prospect of playing Mighty Mojos once again and his loyal supporters will be over joyed at the good news.

2nd Round Cup exit

A convincing loss to top division side AFC Stanley saw TCM fall out of the cup.

A game in which the top division side gave a great exhibition of clinical finishing.

TCM continue to have another low key silly season, will boss RDCM ever dip his hand into the clubs minute promotin coffers??? Probably not

Stanley Pull Off Major Signing

Its been a busy couple of weeks for Stanley manger Markham33 , following the end of the season no fewer than 4 players have left the club as Markham tries to improve his squad for the season ahead.

In comes Virgil Beckham to add some depth to midfield , but the big signing came off today with the signing of Spannish star Lucio Rodriguez to help bolster there defence, Markham said of the defender :

" I got a call last week to say he wanted to try out the RM Invitational and to be honest i thought there would be a host of clubs in for him , but we moved quickly and he is delighted to be joining us , there maybe 1 more signing before the start of the season" Markham said

Transfer Explosion at Totaal

Robin Meeblind has continued his activity in the transfer market as he looks to build a formidable side for Season Six in the RM Invitational.

Rodney Shuttlewood made the journey to join Padston Villa earlier in the week and left with the best wishes from the manager and fans.

His void in the midfield was taken by the experienced Antonello Ballarin while Marco Vermeeren was drafted into the defence to develop as the future free-kick taker for the side.

Also, in the last few hours Robin Meeblind has brokered a deal which has seen Underdogz United striker Zlatan Izuhimovic join the club in a move which had fans gathering outside the club’s training ground looking for a first glimpse of their new star.

Ike Dyer will be going in the opposite direction when the cash becomes available to the United manager in a move which suits both clubs.

Meeblind had this to say:

‘We are sad to see Ike leave but we needed to bridge the age gap between Dean and van Diemen. Dyer was the guy who could make the deal happen and I believe he’ll be a big success at United.

'Zlatan will give us all sorts of options up front and it should prove harder for clubs to shut us down.

‘Our spending isn’t done yet. Izu Metelo will be leaving us tonight so we will need another ‘keeper and also some developmental players in the various positions. We are getting closer, though.’

Yabba-Dabba-Dino

With the recent purchase of cool-headed Italian Dino Pino, Santos Manager Sean7 was in a nostalgic mood, re-counting his days of watching the Flintstones on the telly, with Fred Flintstone's pet, Dino. It was then that he sang a song for the confused midfielder...

"Santos, Meet The Santos,
We run our affairs very differently,
From the shores of Brasil,
We are all about fluidity
Let's take a quick run through with the club,
You'll not find many steroids or drugs,
When you're with the Santos,
You'll be surrounded by some fit girls
some wearing big pearls,
you'll have all the gorgeous girls!!!"

Unfortunately, Dino was not impressed with this introduction. Part of it was due to Dino not understanding English.
Upon conversing with his translator, the young Italian muttered 'What have I gotten myself into...'

Still transfers to be done

Rumours are that Underdogz United manager Izuka is still searching for a couple of good strikers to add to his squad. His recent signings seem to be settling in well with the rest of the club, but Izuka is still unsatisfied, especially with no quality replacements if either of his main strikers picks up an injury or suspension.

Cathal to return to real world soon!!

It appears that Villarreal manager Cathalio11 is having far too many dreams.

The manager is clearly living in dreamland probably brought on by living in the past and thinking constantly of the first season of the rmi when his team won a chamionship that did not include super manager Eaglesrjh.

This latest dream for some reason invollved Eaglesrjh in his bedroom!! we can only imagine why Cathalio is dreaming like this but this thought that Eagles is leaving xpert11 is sheer fantasy.

"I can only imagine that Cathalio feels that he would have more chance for success if he tries to get rid of quality managers!" said Eaglesrjh "I xan confirm that I am going no where, Cathals dream is nearly true! The wife did crawl into bed beside me, but believe me she wanted me for an entirely different reason!! :-) "

Cathalio should get himself out of dreamland and focus on the nightmare that is his team and management! :-)

Buta to end career at Mojos

Back in 09-11-09 Joshy splashed out 1.7 million Econ for 34 year old Timotei Buta. He ended up scoring 6 times in his 14 appearences from the closing end of the season. Joshy only bought him originally to add some fire power up front. Joshy never planned to keep him the following season and transfer listed him after the end of season. Reports suggested his skill was starting to lower due to older age and after no clubs showed any signs of interest in Buta he asked to have a private word with the boss infront of the team and said the following...

" I don't have much left in me now im 35 you see, after moving to this club last season i have very quickly fallen in love with the club and its players and my last dream in my football career is to end it here with Mighty Mojos. "

Joshy listened to Buta and as actknowledgement he will not be selling Buta anymore and said the following...

" Buta was picked as a tempory fix last season but we could never of dreamt of him fitting in so well, he scored 6 goals for us in total and he sure has more in him. After expressing his feelings towards the club i will honour his loyalty and let him see out the remender of his career here at MIghty Mojos. He will be a force to reckon with next season as im sure if it is to be his last season he will surely like to go out on a high. "

Arsenal Out of Cup

Last seasons holders failed to reach the heights of last season when they were knocked out of the cup by Dream Team. Manager Brown knew he was up against a stronger side and Dream Teams 3 front men proved just too much for his 3 man at the back.

Many fans were left wondering why Brown went with 3 at the back against such strong strikers but Brown felt their home record was good with a 3-5-2 formation so "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but many are sure Brown will rethink that method the next tim ethese two clash during next season.

Form is still good in the team, Arsenal will just sit back and get everyone ready for the coming season as there are alot of stronger teams in division 2 next season.

Brown also wanted to extend his best wishes to everyone next season and hopes for another cracker

Eagles Forced To Quit Xperteleven

After the very successful comedy tv show, "Manager School" finished filming its 8th episode where Cathal Brennan gets sent to jail for false qualifications, rumours have been rife that the real Eagles is being forced to quit Xperteleven.

We had our top spy Ilmari Jukka hiding in his wardrobe watching the events. This is him reporting to us now:

"It was a very frightening moment. Eagles had entered the bedroom with his PSP and then hid under the bed and logged on to his Xperteleven account. Soon though his wife came into the bedroom and was wondering where he had gone. She bent down to pick up her slippers which were under the bed, where she caught a wrinkly Eagles who hadn't shaved in 3 days under the bed logged on to Xperteleven. This left her very distressed and all hell broke loose. First...hey look a basketball, AH MY ******* FINGER!!!!!!!!! OH DEAR GOD!!!!!!!!!!!"

Transfers aplenty at the Thorp Arches

Yorkshires Amateurs boss Danlufc13 has been busier than Jermaine Beckford’s agent this week as he performs a dizzying round of transfer negotiations. No fewer than 6 players have signed for the Amateurs since the turn of the year, the most notable acquisition so far, Lucas Ravelli from the St Omer production line.
Boss Danlufc13 has been working hard to bring down the average age of the squad with five players leaving in recent days, including 35 year olds Hasselstrom and McMahon who played a pivotal role in their promotion. Time and tide waits for no man though and it is these older players, on the verge of retirement who have had to make way for new blood.
It is a risky transfer policy but as long as the Amateurs can maintain a reasonable average age then they will hope to preserve their top flight status this term. The spending is not yet complete though and deals will hopefully all be concluded within the next few days.

Need to move quickly

After a week and a half of in charge, Wildy1974 has already played three friendlies, winning two and losing one to Rolling Thunder. Frustraitingly for Wildy1974 he still hasn't been able to make his mark on the team with the club rebranding or any signings. With the new season around the corner he needs to move quickly.

Gooners Gossip!

Today we bring you all the latest news from Highbury and the managers thoughts on the way his team/season is shaping up, plus much more! This surely is a must read for any Gooners follower.

Q: Lets begin with the RMI Cup, whats your thought after such a tough run in the Cup?

A: Obviously we were delighted with our first round result and beating a very tough opponent in Thunder Cats and i hope we added some romance to what is a fantastic competition! The game was all the more memorable as it was Laurens last in a Gooners shirt and he showed the same level of commitment he has always done and will be missed dearly by the team and supporters. Obviously for the second round we hoped to get a team of a lesser ability and as you know we got Kirkbride Strollers after that it was always going to be tough to make the next round but then thats what a cup is all about and my lads gave it a really good go and i cant fault any of them, I think we proved again this evening that we can compete with the best and we certainly aren't one season wonders. On the other hand we led for sometime and defeat is hard for all of us to swallow, but what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger and this is a team thats based upon the future aswell as the present.

Q: You mentioned Lauren just now and you have sold or retired some players that have served you well espcially last season, can you explain your reasons for this?

A: Admittedly Laren was probably one of our biggest performers last season alongside Adams in a legendary defence and will always be remembered in Gooners history, the reason i decided to change things around was to strengthen the team in the youth department considerably. As can be seen from recent results i think we still have a very strong back line and theres more to come in this department as we have great young players coming through. As for Gilberto he refused to move elsewhere and although we initially agreed a pay as you play contract, i decided in the end that now was the right time to add to the next crop of Midfielders. Lastly i sold Lukic who was by no means a bad player and had a effective role in last seasons success and im sure his future in the RMI will be a successful one but as Seaman approaches the end of an amazing carreer i had to make a decision on wether Lukic was the man to carry us through to the top tier and do a job there and obviously i felt we needed a keeper with more qualities, so the in my mind to make the change now with Seaman still number one was the correct one. At the end of the day its about having the right players ready as a unit when we reach the place we want to be at, the top!

Q: So can you tell us something about your new signing and potential future transfers?

A: Certainly! As mentioned in a previous press release we were lookng to add the qualities missing from midfield as a priority. Bergkamp and Lang are great at what they do and I just wanted to add to what is already an amazing partnership. Cesc is a record signing and states this clubs intentions hes young with a massive margin for improvement, he adds pace, hes not afraid to have a go and above all else handles himself well in the midfield. As you can see today he handled himself well in what was a big game to make your debut, even for a player with alot more experience. For now though we will keep his games to a minimum while he progresses but is definately one to watch for the future. As for future signings we are looking for a keeper and getting the funds together to make a move, we want someone we feel comfortable with investing the money and time involved training and not a gap filler! If by any chance we could find a experienced defender at the right price we may also bring one in or maybe after the season begins, a decision hasn't been made as yet.

Q: You havent mentiond Thomas Cruise why?

A: I know many managers look at this player and think i was silly to keep him and i don't want to put the lad under to much pressure, he is a player i like and am willing to take under my wing and revive his career! I am certain given time that he will prove to be a valueable and committed asset he has much raw talent but needs the guidance he has been missing for sometime now.

Q: Your thoughts on season 6 RMI?

A: I think for Gooners it looks good the team is maintaining the levels we saw last season and is still hungry. I think the teams in division two are at very different levels of ability though and this may help our new younger side acheive its goal of promotion. With that said the managers in this division are alot more wiley and i think you would need more than just strength to finish well. As for the RMI on the whole i think theres a few new managers who i see doing well in division three and im glad we were promoted when we were. There are already a few rivalries i cant wait to get my teeth into and by the end of the season i expect to have gained a few more!

Welcome to Manager School where we give free lessons of managership to amateurs so they can become some of the best managers on Xperteleven. Today we will be tracking Cathal Brennan. He is also known as Il Cathalio, winner of Season 1 of the Robin Meeblind Invitational.

------Skips to final scene-------

Student: What do you mean tighten the centre prevents teams who use through plays from getting more chances, it doesn't make sense.

Teacher: Listen Eagles(rjh): If you tighten the centre, it prevents the other side getting simple break aways.

Student: But wouldn't it be alot better to just tighten the wings?

Team Looking Forward

Dream Team ran strong through this season, and are looking to be in the top three in the next season. However, the teams progression through divisions is not as important as growing the team skills wise. If it is more economic to stay in this division, then that will be the case.

Dream Team is doing well in the pre-season cup, knocking out a very strong team today, although it was an extremely close fought match.

Good luck to all teams in division two this season, you'll need it!

Manager, MrJames.

Splott 3 Juventus 2

Splott Rovers progressed in the cup with a win against previous Div 2 rivals Juventus. After having 5 put past us by them last time in the league this was sweet revenge for Splott and the players showed only a few signs of rustiness after a long christmas break. Roll on the next game!

Busy Pre-Season

At PSV we have been very busy lately. 5 new players have been signed with a combined fee of just over 5m econs. We have had a look at the league we'll play in next yr. Dont think we will survive releagation, so we thought we'll fully concentrate with our youngsters, hence why veterans Xabi, and Agger are no longer with us. Jose Fonte is also in the search for a new club but we are planning to hold on to Pepe Reina.

GAMES

We played Arsenal in the cup and lost 3-1. 2 subsequent friendlies have followed. I was encouraged by todays game with Arjen scoring on his debut. In all my time in x11, I have noticed players with his SQ tend to be top players amongst other strikers.

WARNINGS

Rory and Nanmeng have had an official warning today, if they do not step up in performance this season, I will not hesitate placing them on the transfer list. They are a specialcase tho as players of their quality tend to be very good indeed.

FUTURE

Our fans have a lot to look forward to in the next coming season. I have built a team from scratch numerous of times before so they know we are in safe hands. I have been really selectice of the players we have signed this time round. Also the top teams in the league have really set off in a league of their own, so they are easily catchable.

I look forward to working with this young lads hence why Ive put pen to paper on a 3 yr contract.

Paddy kicks Cath's ex-dog!

It has become clear that there has been a feud between Paddy and Cathal recently but things became legal on the 8th of January, 2010 when Paddy kicked Cathal Brennan's former dog, which he gave to Paddy just a few days ago, in the head giving the dog concussion.

The dog, Johnny Douglas, is believed to be in a critical state and was taken to vet immediately by passer-byers who just couldn't block out the noises of plates smashing in the house of Paddy.

Paddy starts war in empty house

We suprised Padston Villa manager Paddy Mckeever at his home trying to catch a quick response to Cathals comments about their upcoming game, when we get there his house was absolutely trashed, when we asked him what had happened he said

"No one was in and I really needed to argue and taunt someone, so I started an arguement with myself, we were too evenly matched and I just couldn't win and I think the house got wrecked in the process, though I'm not really sure as I blacked out with rage"

After calming Paddy down and giving him a hug we asked his thoughts on todays game "we're delighted with todays win mainly for the confidence and form it hopefully brings, we appreciate some teams are in the process of building from youth including St Omer and Villarreal but it doesn't mean we can underestimate them, the reason I've been taunting Cathal so much is to keep my players focused so they take the right attitude into every game this season, relegation is hard to recover from so I'm just trying to lay the foundations for a successful season!"

Paddy then said he was going to get some dinner and kick the dog so we left him to it as he seemed like he wanted another arguement.

*No animals were harmed in the making of this interview, (we think)*

Paddy would start war in an empty house

Villarreal beat Tottenham Hotspurs today with limited problems but that wasn't what was on manager, Cathal Brennan's mind.

Their next game is a friendly in which they are massive underdogs against Padston Villa.

In the build up to the game Cathal had some not so friendly words to say about Padston Villa manager Paddy:

"This guy has been talking about our game all week as if it is a close encounter with two equal sides which will end up in us getting hammered. Maybe he doesn't know that our team is full of youngsters. He should spend less time looking at his teamsheet and more time looking at his opponents. The taunts he has been giving off this week leads to me wondering when there is nobody around, does he taunt himself. Paddy would start a war in an empty house."

Cup into 2nd Round

Pahang united accidentally won their first cup matches whereby they won by 1 goal different.

This time round, again we have to play away from home. This is a bit difficult for us but im confidence that all players is ready for tonight matches.

I saw afc stanley very stong and it is difficult for them to beat us im sure.

Many belated welcomes

Well it's been a busy end of season with a number of manager changes for a number of reasons.

So i'd like to formally say welcome to the following new mangers

Dimentis, who took over Hicktown Hillbillies, he has straight away renamed the side to FC Bayern Munchen and is already making waves with a good cup victory. Welcome to the league.

Wildy1974. Takes over Futsal FC and seems content with the name for now, quietly getting on with preseason. Welcome to the league

Hitman10. Takes over Belly Tubbies and has also not yet changed the team name. Again quietly getting to grips with his new team. Welcome to the league.

Ocs18. Known to many of us, brings in a new team in Tottenham Hotspur, who will replace Jammas Allstars in the league. Welcome to the league.

Coolbooy. Has wasted no time changing Sanity Clause to Bumerang. Quietly building in pre season. Welcome to the league.

Skoolyou. Renames Bittersweeters to AFC boo boys, building for a run in div 3 next season. welcome to the league.

Welcome to all our new managers, hope you enjoy it here and feel free to pop into the scribble for a chat!

Sale

Due to serious financial problems, St Omer manager Cony Tottee knows that he will have to sell some of his crown jewels if he is to continue training his youngsters.

Hopefully an offer will come in soon that will allow him to carry on his building.

Young starlet promoted to 1st team

"I am delighted to welcome Gareth to Tottenham," said the manager ocs18 this morning. "It is no secret that we have been looking to strengthen our defence, and in Gareth I feel we have recruited a potential world class player.

"Gareth has been a central figure in our u18 academy side for many years, and I have been an admirer of him for a long time. He is quick, cool under pressure and reads the game well and will be an influential figure in the dressing room in years to come."

Gareth Bale is 17, the youngest player in a very young Tottenham team. His hero as a nine year old was Stuart Pearce – it wasn't his aggressive side or his timing for tackles but it was Pearce’s ability to take Freekicks that caught Bales eye.

“Just you wait, in a few seasons time this man will be the heart of our defence and hopefully scaring the living crap out of the oppositions goalkeepers with his freakish free kicks!” said a happy ocs18.

Cup exit

Kensington Boys Club got crushed after even attempting to redeem their terrible season by entering the RMI cup.

KBC ended 5th but just 3 points after victorius Yorkshire. The pre-season work with the players unveiled a failure in developing the defensive sides of the squad but KBC now has a midfield and offence that may result in a promotion next season.
It is clear that work is needed in the defensive side, seen to development and Stan Fitzgerald is officially on his way out.

One in and, erm, one in??

ocs18 said: “Dawson is a great signing and we're thrilled to get him in. He has bags of experience for such a young guy, which is exactly what we've been targeting this winter.

He has always been the kind of player opposition teams and supporters love to hate, a thorn in the forwards side, and that's why we're delighted to now have him.”

But even for ocs18, the addition of such a volatile character as Dawson will prove a tough task as it’s normally bad enough training teenagers, let alone a bone idle 20 something year old who thinks they know it all.

Ocs18’s management style is refreshing. Some players like it, while others do not. If Dawson and co are sulking in the stands and out of the Tottenham team in a couple of months, we'll know exactly where they stand with their new manager.

Meanwhile reports are circulating that Tottenham have bought a player without the managers say so, said a BBC reporter. "I have a source who has told us this morning that ocs18 had nothing to do with Wallace Albright signing, which leaves the chairman. Hopefully we will have more on this later on."

Fear Factor

Today saw another group of ties played in the first round of the RMI Cup, there were some great games played with some shock results and amongst them surely must be Gooners versus Thunder Cats! Thunder Cats are a well established team in the RMI and already have top league trophies in the cabinet, Gooners are a team who aspire to have the success the likes of Thunder Cats have seen and are just starting out on this journey under the guidance of rookie coach FMR. Although currently its Gooners that have built a reputation in the RMI for being almost unstoppable on their day.

The game was played at Thundera Grounds giving the Cats a nice home advantage but it must be said Gooners had kept their form much better during this pre season period. FMR has had much success with his tactics where ever he has gone with defence being his strongest quality and even away from home you knew the Cats would struggle to break Gooners down. This was a game where the first goal would be all important.

Many of Gooners players are in the middle of contract negotiations and many thought this may play some part in their performances, most notably of which was Lauren their star defender last season who has already signed a contract elsewhere and this would be the last time he would pull on a Gooners shirt. Gooners bossed the game for the entire first half having all the play and all the chances, Thunder Cats didnt even see a sight of goal in the first half and it would seem Gooners were already back in their flow and up for a game.

It was Lauren who managed to penetrate first with a great ball to Viera who atlast took his chance with conviction and put Gooners into the lead. Thunder Cats had put several men on Henry and it needed some one from the middle of the park to use the extra space and Viera stood up to the plate yet again in the second half to score the winner. In fairness Thunder Cats gave it everything in the second half to make it a nail biting fiinsh but its was probably due to this that Viera found the space required to kill the game off and score his second of the day.

Both Lauren and Viera are listed for sale and FMR would need real quality to replace them and some of the fans are worried by his decisions to sell such high performers but he sees his team reaching the top tier soon and is preparing for this already. If they do not make it then many would not be happy and see the sales as the reason but on todays performance he may be justified in carrying out such big changes. One thing is for sure now no one will want to meet Gooners in the second round and it would seem Gooners are living up to their reputation and are not just able to play their game against the lower league teams but also against much bigger opposition. FMR is hoping to draw Dream Team or Wortley in the second round although he stated he fears no one and loves being the under dog. Although he also said that as our reputation grows larger the games will become more difficult as teams may try to play more defensively and as you saw today Henry got a rough ride, it's something we will have to consider for the next season and maybe try some new things.

Lauren was quoted as saying... Gooners is a club he loves dearly but is ready for new things, although he would have rather stayed he still has much respect for the manager and has always given everything for him and if the opportunity ever arised he would love to come back one day and thinks Gooners under FMR will see much success in the near future. He sent his best wishes to all the fans and told them to keep the strong belief they have built up around the club.
