Keeper Rain's Goal Flooded

Town News

Five first half goals and a solitary second half strike saw Morley hammer St Omer in an almost totally one-sided encounter, it took Town just a minute to open the scoring and put their mid season slump behind them.

Maart Kuiper has hardly set the Division alight since his 5.2 million econ move to Scatcherd Park in the close season but he looks like he is finally adapting to life in Morley and is starting to repay his manager with the goals he was bought to score.

It was Kuiper who opened the scoring, his long range thunderbolt giving Rain no chance, Velez and Ashe missed glorious opportunities before Mitchell Pennock grabbed his first of the season with an exquisite lob. Town ‘keeper Gaughan kept Morley’s two goal advantage with an excellent penalty save to deny Cony Tottee.

Morley made the most of their good fortune and soon added a third, the increasingly impressive Kuiper turned provider as his cross was headed past Rain by Ashe, Maart Kuiper headed a goal of his own four minutes later to take Morley into an unassailable 4-0 lead.

Town won a penalty of their own but this time the result was to be expected as ArnĂ£utu continued the deluge of goals into Rain’s net as he converted from the spot, after the excitement of the first half the second period was a huge let-down. Only one chance was created and it took until the 91st minute for the chance to be created and it was the excellent Kuiper who set up ArnĂ£utu to round off the scoring.

Morley face Tottenham on Friday and Leeg21’s men will be hoping to make it three wins on the bounce especially as Tottenham will be without Wilson Palacios and will have to give a late fitness test to influential defender Ledley King.
