Foursome WBS Keep On Winning

West Brom produced another powerful performance to dismiss Tranmere 4-1 at The Hawthorns. A second minute strike by Richard Sneekes went just wide as they signalled their intent in the game. Lee Hughes would also power a shot wide before Adam Mlynarz had a side-footed shot saved at the other end. West Brom were back on the attack moments later but a Sneekes header was easily saved by Sapienza but there was nothing the ‘keeper could do as Cyrille Regis netted following a corner. Hughes quickly made it 2-0 with a powerful strike from distance while Manuel Bonda wasted a chance to bring Tranmere back into it before the interval. West Brom were once again quickly out of the blocks but Billy Bassett missed with a free-kick. Eadhard Liffey managed to pull a goal back for the visitors with a brilliant free-kick of his own and Sapienza maintained the momentum by saving from a Willie Johnston header to keep the visitors alive. However, Brendon Batson flicked a header home on 81 minutes and when Bonda unfortunately headed against a post at the other end you sensed the game was up. Willie Johnston duly added a fourth with a clever toe-poke and ensured West Brom would ease to a 4-1 victory. DD has his side scoring goals for fun and while they are in this mood they will take all the stopping this season. Baz is still awaiting his side’s first points of the campaign and they have a tough game next as reigning champions ThunderCats come to town.

Santos ensured the pressure remained on West Brom as they too won their fourth straight match with a 3-0 success at Sanity Clause. The home side did open well but Elvis MacCaran headed over before Santos took control. Panu Sarapaa had a header saved by Widlund before Torbjorn Alshammar also headed straight at the ‘keeper. Rogerio Franca was the next to waste a headed chance but he did do better moments later as he curled in a long range shot to open the scoring. It was more of the same after the interval and Santos were 2-0 up as Franca deposited a penalty with some aplomb. Sarapaa narrowly failed to make it 3-0 from a fine header but Robbie Mitchell did add another with a superbly taken free-kick on 83 minutes. Mitchell would waste a further free-kick chance before MacCaran hit the crossbar at the other end in a last act of defiance from the home side. Bus_dude2001 will see his side’s form dropping when he returns to the fold and only quick action will save them from a season of trouble. Everything remains perfect for Sean7 as his side score goals for fun and have only conceded one in four games.

Totaalvoetbal slipped into third following a 2-0 home win over The Vikings. It would be a fast start which would lay the foundations for the win as Totaal produced some excellent early football. William Ralph Dean did all the damage as he drilled in a low powerful strike on two minutes before showing a more delicate touch three minutes later to lob Raasch for 2-0. The Vikings recovered and forced a chance on 35 minutes but Rimmer held Thorbjorn Lind’s header on goal. Totaal had further chances before the break but Edwin Hayter’s powerfully curled shot was tipped over by Raasch before Ike Dyer hit a shot straight at the ‘keeper. The second-half was a quiet affair with only one further effort on goal. It came for the visitors with Murray Irwin placing a shot off-target. Robin Meeblind was happy with what he called ‘a solid victory’ but added they would have to be ‘on the top of their game’ to take anything away from a trip to Santos on Friday. Eaglesrjh admitted to fearing ‘a tanking’ after the early goals and they will look to bounce back with a home game against Kirkbride on Friday.

AFC Stanley remained unbeaten but were disappointed with a last-minute equaliser against them in a 2-2 draw at Underdogz United. Mitchell Arkwright had an early header saved by Casillas before Garry Molseley missed the goal by inches with a driving shot. The home side would respond with a free-kick chance and Robin van Izu made no mistake with a stunning strike. United might have added a second but Luca Tonizu’s effort was disallowed for offside. The second-half saw Stanley strike back and Molseley levelled with a poacher’s goal following a corner on 54 minutes. Cal McMac got his shot all wrong but still forced Casillas into action on 61 minutes before Cristiano Izuldo headed straight at Moss as the home side threatened. Jon MacClintock flicked a header too close to Casillas but Enrico Fuentes did much better with his header to put Stanley 2-1 up on 73 minutes. It would be a lead they would hold until just before time when Izuldo hit a brilliant half-volley to leave Moss helpless and the sides going away with a point each. Markham admitted he had ‘to be disappointed’ with the manner of the equaliser but has already told the players to ‘focus on (their) next match.’ Izu will be pleased with his side’s never-say-never attitude and they will need more of the same to match their next opponents, West Brom Strollers.

ThunderCats got their challenge back on track with a 3-1 home victory over Hun Haters. Juliano Leite placed his header too close to Boruc as they started on top. However, they would escape when Ted Caird’s well-placed shot was disallowed for offside. Fabricio Cidade was denied by Boruc as he tried to round the cat before he also saw a header saved. He would win the third battle as he managed to go round Boruc before slipping the ball into an empty net to give the home side a deserved half-time lead. HH responded well after the break but Iain Emery had no luck with a header which came back off the angle while Cidade missed a chance at the other end. ThunderCats scored a crucial second goal on 66 minutes when Paulino Ornelas finished a breakaway move coolly. Emery wasted a headed chance at the other end and when Leonardo Borja lobbed in the third it was effectively game over. HH did get a well-deserved consolation when Johnnie Cullen toe-poked home but it wouldn’t stop the home side picking up three points. Meelas will be pleased his side have returned to winning ways but will be less than satisfied with his side’s current fifth-place. Celticchris will be keen for his side to pick up a win soon but with plenty of money in the coffers the club looks in a good position.

Manchester United and Kirkbride fought out a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford in the other game of the day. United opened strongly and saw Wayne Rooney have a header hit the angle before Darren Fletcher had another header saved by Ted Hill. The Strollers responded with a header from Keith Ellison which needed saving by Kuszczak before United hit the front; a bicycle kick by Fletcher giving the game a spectacular opener. El Lapinho tried to produce a bicycle kick at the other end but it went wide before Hill saved from Eric Cantona to keep Kirkbride in the game. Les Curran had a chance to equalise before the break but it was stopped by Kuszczak. The second-half opened with a Michael Carrick header which was saved by Hill before Mark Blacklock looped a header over for the Strollers. Carrrick put a further header off-target before Kirkbride levelled courtesy of a fine Blacklock finish. Things might have improved further for the Strollers with Mark Simpson having a diving header hit the woodwork. Jazza thought his side ‘had enough chances to win the game’ but got what they wanted from the contest. Pakya’s side are slowly coming to terms with the division and an away game against Hun Haters gives them a chance to get their first win on the board on Friday.

Patrik's Boys Club Milan

Kensington Boys Club bounced back to life with a 4-2 away win at Milan. Despite this it would be Milan who would have the first effort with Jonte Sandholm forcing a fine save out of Timmy Lorentzen following an excellent volley. KBC were soon into their stride, though, and Samson Lockwood was unfortunate to see his header come back off the angle. Niles Worthington curled an effort over the bar as they looked to increase the pressure and they would take the lead when Maurice Jacobs powered in a shot from distance. They held this lead into the second-half but Ricardo Kaka lobbed a headed equaliser for Milan on 50 minutes. Kensington were soon back on the front foot with a breakaway goal by Aubrey de Vere who then followed with a brilliant strike from distance to make it 3-1. The forward would then complete an exceptional hat-trick with a curled effort from distance to put the game beyond Milan. A free-kick by Vittorio Cornacchini smashed into the bar as the hosts did try to respond but Dorian Lonsdale fired in a shot at the other end to keep the home side on their toes. Milan did manage a consolation with a long range shot from Sandholm on 88 minutes but it would be KBC who would push for a late goal; de Vere again proving the thorn in their side with a shot on goal which nearly made it 5-2. Patrik was relieved to pick up a win but added ‘until we can get some consistency, (he is) a troubled lad.’ Xmensch’s Milan are struggling for results at the moment but the coach has admitted he has ‘some squad problems’ and you can expect to see them solved in the coming weeks.

Pahang kept themselves ahead of the pack with a 3-2 home success over Real Madrid. An early shot by Ray Eastwood gave them a 1-0 lead in a game full of chances. Indeed, Mao Wannasathit equalised for the visitors with a powerful shot from distance on seven minutes. Samvel Mortanian headed straight at Hussain for the visitors while Kilian Strongbow’s free-kick proved no bother at the other end as both sides pressed. Pahang did regain the lead on 35 minutes as a diving header by Eastwood proved too good for Nersesian. The ‘keeper did save from Jeremias Lindeman, though, to keep his side just a goal behind at the break. Pahang opened the second-half with a header from Strongbow which was saved before making it 3-1 courtesy of a penalty by Romeo Hogg. Another chance fell the home side’s way but Nersesian denied Hogg and Madrid tried to fight back. Mortanian produced a lob of rare quality but it went just over before Wannasathit headed against a post. Madrid did manage a second goal as Aren Garabedian chipped in from inside the area but time ran out on a comeback and Pahang emerged victorious once again. MrT’s side have now won four from four and they will be hopeful of keeping their run going as they travel to AJ Rovers on Friday. Madrid found themselves on the wrong end of a tight score once again but will be hopeful of a change of luck soon.

F.C. Greatness are Pahang’s closest challengers after they outclassed PSV Eindhoven 3-0 at Cedar Road. PSV did have the opening chance but Frans Haggbring put his lob over and it was one-way traffic from that point on. Faust Baronchelli put a chip against the bar before hitting a free-kick straight at Reina as the chances started to flow. Alvaro Recoba headed too close to Reina and another Baronchelli free-kick was gathered by the ‘keeper as the score remained goalless at the interval. Baronchelli did have another free-kick opportunity at the start of the second-half but fired well-wide. Greatness did take the lead, though, as Martinus Benfari lobbed over Reina following a rapid breakaway. Agostino Filippinetti headed in the second on 79 minutes and Angelo Foggia drove home the third on 83 minutes to put a more realistic look to the score-line. Calvert will be pleased with his side’s scoring form and will look to take that on the road with them as they visit KBC on Friday. Kadri found his side edged out by the class and age difference but his side are sure to bounce back as they have in the past.

Yorkshires Amateurs remained unbeaten but had to settle for a point following a 0-0 draw at Villarreal. The Amateurs started strongly with Pedar Hasselstrom heading over before Amadeo Caviedes had a goal disallowed for a doubtful offside. Gerard McMahon headed too close to Abrey before the home side finally began to fight back. Errol Beddoe could only shoot at Bicanco, though, and the Amateurs might have been in front as Antony Wallwork put a header against the bar. Wallwork had another headed chance minutes later but put it just over the bar while Caviedes missed with a shot from a tight angle. The second-half proved in direct contrast to the first as Villarreal did all the pressing. Claudio Moura hit a shot high over the goal while Beddoe headed against a post as the home side threatened the breakthrough. Another header, this time by Richard van Mosen, went close but both sides had to be content with a stalemate. Danlufc13 bemoaned his side’s disallowed goal but was positive that his side ‘remained unbeaten.’ Cathal admitted that his focus had been elsewhere recently with fans hoping he can bring his attention back to the struggling side soon before they become embroiled in a relegation battle that would be unthinkable for a club of their stature.

Bonkers continued to improve on their shaky start and defeated White Hawk 2-1 in their latest outing. Stefan Beelenkamp headed in the opening goal on five minutes and Philip Calderwood might have made it 2-0 but Dankoi was the equal to his shot. There was nothing the ‘keeper could do about Edip Bayrak’s powerful strike on 22 minutes, though, as Bonkers did increase their lead. However, White Hawk fought back quickly with Ryan Dharmsingh looping a header over Hawke to reduce the deficit. A free-kick by Beelenkamp never really threatened the goal and it would remain 2-1 at the break. Hawk improved after the break and Adan Donahue went close as his header brushed a post. Donahue then put a volley well-wide and Glenn Rjssel put a header over as Hawk wasted their chances. Beelenkamp unfortunately hit the bar with a header for Bonkers while Dharmsingh wasted a late headed chance as no further goals were added. Bonkers News explained that the ‘older experience of the squad’ helped them to victory and that their goal this season was ‘promotion.’ Hooraymee’s side remain in mid-table and if their strike-force can start to fire a season pushing for promotion might be in the offing.

One side that are in the thick of things at the right end of the table are Hicktown Hillbillies after a 1-0 win over AJ Rovers put them in third. The Hillbillies controlled what was a tight game and created the only two chances of the contest. Billy Bob side-footed in the goal on three minutes and this enabled them to play the match on their terms. Another chance fell to Bob in the second-half but Mortimer made a flash save and the game ended 1-0 to Hicktown. Gary_C called the win ‘very boring’ but won’t be too concerned so long as his side keep picking up the points. Rothion will need his side to become more creative if they are to move up the table but the talented managed is sure to find a solution at some point.

Blakey Gets Better of Brown

Carthage won the battle at the top of Division Two with a 4-1 success at Arsenal. Carthage opened well but Eric Fray’s chip was punched away by Almunia. They would be stung just after the half-hour with Tomas Rosicky heading Arsenal into a one-goal advantage. Carthage, though, would continue to impress and Fray headed them level before the break. The second-half saw Caleb Spencer shoot Carthage into an early 2-1 advantage while Eduardo da Silva rattled the bar with a lob at the other end. It would be Carthage who would take control of the game still further as Amin Mansourian smacked in a superb 52nd minute goal to give them a 3-1 lead. Quincy Lansbury hit a post with a fine header while Arsenal looked to hit back but Andrey Arshavin hit a free-kick too close to Aurelius while Abou Diaby headed wide. Carthage would then seal the win as Lansbury placed the ball beyond Almunia to clinch a 4-1 victory. Carthage News reported that they ‘were clearly the better team’ and they will look to stretch their lead at Juventus on Friday. Despite the defeat DomBrown looked on the positive side saying that they ‘are still only 1 point off 1st and (they) will bounce back.’

Futsal remained unbeaten and moved into third as they defeated Reggae Reggae Sauce 3-1 at Sauce Bottle Arena. It would be the home side who enjoyed the first chance but Tyrone Barratt’s header was easily saved. However, it would be his namesake who would strike first at the other end; Robin Barratt heading beyond Mullen for the opening goal of the game. Futsal would then double their lead as a flick header by Samson Heskey proved too good for Mullen on 21 minutes. However, a mishit shot by Alfredo D’Addadzio on 40 minutes gave the home side hope going into the half-time break. Ricky Routhledge put a chip over for Futsal at the start of the second-half as they looked to re-establish their advantage and Sauce might have equalised but Jurkovic held Christiano Torres’ header. This proved crucial as moments later Rowley Forrester curled in a free-kick to make it 3-1 to Futsal. Barratt headed wide for Sauce and Leroy Nugent saw a shot saved as they ran out of time and succumbed to another defeat. Jake has his side in great form as well as only two points off top as things look set for an exciting season. RRS sit in familiar territory in the bottom three and the hope of success for their long-suffering fans seems as distant as ever as the season progresses.

Splott Rovers look primed for a title challenge after another impressive performance saw them defeat Juventus 4-1 at Star Centre Arena. Winston Badger shot them into an early lead with a calm finish in the area and a free-kick by Reed Fantastic might have made it two but it was too close to Fuentes in goal. Eddie Venom smashed an effort into the crossbar before they did make it 2-0 with Frank Punisher converting a penalty on 20 minutes. A free-kick at the other end saw Mairthin Foley go close but it was Splott on top again before the interval with Badger striking in the area again for his second goal of the game. An early free-kick at the start of the second-half saw Fantastic brush a post but it would be Juve who would strike first with Obadele Eliakwu despatching a penalty to make it 3-1. Foley brushed a post as Juve looked to stage a remarkable recovery but a free-kick by Fantastic needed saving at the other end. Splott would seal the game on 79 minutes with Matt Daredevil finishing a breakaway with some aplomb to cap a fine performance by the hosts. Carbonmonoxide got his wish of a ‘hat-trick of wins’ against Juve and will now look for his side to push on against The Lone Wanderers on Friday. Juve continue to struggle and things don’t get any easier as they play the league leaders next up as they search for all-important points.

These Charming Men edged an exciting game against The Lone Wanderers by the odd goal in five at Irregulars Arena. There were to be plenty of chances in an open game and William MacAvish went close for the visitors on six minutes with a lob which went just over. TCM responded with the opening goal as Loran Rajabi rounded Peyton expertly before slotting home. Maurice Capdevila couldn’t make it 2-0 as his chip went over before Jordi Rodri skimmed the bar with a half-volley. Arsim Kule tried to respond for the visitors but his header was saved while Leroux Calabuig also had a shot saved by Derksen. TCM would retain their goal advantage going into the second-half and it would be swiftly doubled after the break; Capdevila rounding Peyton for a carbon-copy of the opening goal. Rodri went on to have another shot saved before the Wanderers responded by pulling a goal back via a Brad Kavanaugh header. Kule tried to make it 2-2 but put his header too close to Derksen while Peyton was alert at the other end to deny Rajabi. MacAvish did manage to level for the visitors with a powerful strike from distance and Stephen Julius might have put them in front but his mishit shot struck a post. This proved costly as Rajabi managed to curl in a beautiful strike on 87 minutes to put TCM back in front. Once more the Wanderers responded but Kavanaugh had a goal chalked off for offside. A late chance for Linus Streicher was saved before Rajabi missed the goal as TCM tried to add further goals. Indeed, Peyton needed to save from Stuart Cooksey to deny TCM again but this didn’t stop the visitors falling to a one-goal defeat. RDCM will be pleased with his side’s start although has admitted that they ‘have a long hard season ahead of (them).’ HH, meanwhile, will be hoping results improve as he ‘prepares to regain control over the club.’

Belly Tubbies enjoyed a much-needed three points following a 4-1 thumping of Kroklund. Beach Ball went close early on before Graeme Sharp placed a header beyond Kangashaka for the opening goal. Peter Reid was then denied by the cat from a header before Kangashaka also saved from a chip by the midfielder. Kroklund responded with a shot by Bosse Bong but Fitzsimmons made the save comfortably. Tubbies ended the half on a high as Sharp shot home cleverly in the area for a 2-0 half-time lead. The second-half saw Aatu Vuokki give the visitors hope with a fine strike from distance but once Sharp had completed his hat-trick from range the result was never in doubt. Paul Bracewell quickly added a fourth with a diving header to give the home fans something to cheer. Kevin Sheedy demanded a fine stop from the ‘keeper before Sharp hit a post with a placed effort. Sharp still had time to have another effort on goal but Kangashaka was the equal to it. Fitzy was delighted that his side had ‘bloody well scored’ and after getting that particular monkey off their back they will now look to kick on. Bossebong will look for his side to respond to this poor performance as they take on Arsenal on Friday but they will need to be much tighter at the back to get anything from the contest.

Los Samgeles Kings eased to a 3-0 home win over St Omer in the other game of the division. An early header by Alexander Frolov gave them the ideal start and they remained in control throughout. Luc Robitaille powered in the second from distance on eight minutes and although Bruno Vasa had an effort at the other end it was easily saved and the Kings went in with a two-goal cushion. The second-half brought more chances for the hosts with Rain saving well from Derek Armstrong’s shot before catching a header by Dustin Brown. Vasa thought he had scored for the visitors but it was cruelly disallowed for offside before Michal Handzus added insult to injury with a lob header to make it 3-0. The Kings might have added a fourth but Sam Harding put his shot wide and they had to settle for a 3-0 win. It will come as a welcome triumph for Stripy’s side and after moving up to mid-table they will look to take more points from a home encounter with Reggae Reggae Sauce. Omer remain pointless and goalless and will continue to blank everything out as they progress with their programme of youth development.

Gooners, Wortley Fire In Classic

Gooners’ first match under FMRealism ended in an exciting 3-3 draw with wortley afc. The chances came early as an Alan Shearer header went wide before the forward also hit a powerful shot off-target. Gooners continued to impress and only a fine save denied a Kyle Lang header before on nine minutes they finally took the lead; Jim Hotte chipping Perry Gareth for the opening goal. Wortley didn’t take long to equalise, though, as Walter Willock produced a clever chip of his own on 18 minutes. Rai Kike came close to putting wortley in front with an excellent volley and the score remained tied at the break. Gooners started the second-half on the front foot but Hotte placed his shot wide. Harold Hankers did better with his header, depositing it in the net following a corner for a 2-1 lead. 3-1 followed a minute later as Lang also headed in to give the hosts a grip on the game. Shearer forced Gareth into a save as they looked to put the game safe but wortley would hit back. Orlando Bhoendie produced an excellent diving header to halve the deficit before a powerful strike from Willock made it 3-3 with just minutes to go. This proved the last action of an entertaining match-up. Thegreatlordbags will be pleased with his side’s resilience and they sit well-placed in second following an unbeaten start to the campaign. Meanwhile, FMR explained that he is ‘new’ to the game but added that he has ‘proved (himself) to be very capable.’ With this in mind there may be exciting times ahead for Gooners’ fans.

Dream Team carried on their merry way with a 5-2 success at Glory Hornets. The visitors were quickly into their stride with Kris Krafty converting a penalty for a 1-0 lead on 13 minutes. Warren Wish failed to make it 2-0 as his lob went over while Paolo Ballotta stunned the leaders with a fine strike following a corner to level matters. Mil Moody would see to it that the parity wouldn’t last long, though, as he produced a clinical strike in the area and the visitors would go in 2-1 in front at the break. Ronaldo Ready headed straight at Blacksmith before Raphael Dearden deflected the ball past his own ‘keeper to give the visitors the ideal start to the second-half. The Hornets had an effort by Toma Popadic saved while Garry Gain curled an effort wide for DT. A free-kick by Dudley Dream narrowly missed but it would be 4-1 as Dream shot home from inside the area. Moody flicked in a header for his second and his team’s fifth of the day and although Popadic placed home a nice goal for the Hornets, Dream Team emerged worthy winners. MrJames was understandably pleased with the win and the fact that his team had ‘scored the most’ this season. GregPerkins’ side is enduring a nightmare start and they will need to improve their form if it is to get better any time soon.

Morley Town returned to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 home success over Mighty Mojos. Zacharias Ashe forced a decent save from Housham before Helder Velez headed in the opener on eight minutes. Ashe then chipped against the bar before Mojos hit back with a chance of their own; a free-kick by Jayden Stevens being easily held. The Mojos would have a goal disallowed before the break as Ferdinand Quinn was denied for handball while Florian Arnautu saw a shot saved at the other end. Morley opened after the break with a powerful shot by Dustin Wotton which went wide while Angres Kafka hit a free-kick over. A volley by Abraham Ashorn for MM needed saving but Morley would secure the win with a fine shot by Wotton on 76 minutes. Morley News reported that ‘Edward Shore looks to be on his way out’ of the club as Leeg21 looks to keep his side progressing. Spikyjamie’s side fell to their first defeat with this result and the manager will need to keep closer watch if there aren’t to be more to follow.

Rolling Thunder maintained their good progress with a 2-1 away win at Jammas AllStars. A fifth minute header by Bojan Krkic gave them the perfect start. The AllStars worked their way into the contest with Clyde Henderson going close to equalising on 29 minutes with a well-placed shot. The second-half opened with a chance for Beltran Bergantinos but the defender’s effort was saved by Sherwood. Thunder would then have a free-kick by Danilo Bauza miss the target while Krkic did likewise with a header. They looked like paying for these misses when Amadeo Larreina converted a penalty at the other end to level proceedings. However, Thunder would have the final say as a well-placed header by Erland Hangeland won the game on 89 minutes for Jimmy’s side. Jimmy now has them well-set in fifth and with the team getting to know one another the signs for a successful season are good. Jamma will be keen for his side to pick up another three points soon but the manager will realise that his is a long-term project.

EspAda won their first game under Malteseexpert with a 3-0 triumph at Norfolk. A seventh minute strike by Andrea Gualco brushed the post before the midfielder then hit the angle with a half-volley as EspAda started strongly. They duly got their goal courtesy of a powerful long range shot by Diego Maradona and the forward was only denied a second moments later by fine work from Clemens in goal. Maradona would also hit the angle with a brilliantly curled shot as the visitors went into the break fully in control of the match. The second-half continued in similar fashion with Maradona having an effort saved before finally getting his second with an expert header. Norfolk had their only chance on 58 minutes but Tajo Juanjo’s lob went over. EspAda’s third goal came on 80 minutes and it proved to be Maradona’s hat-trick as he placed the ball beyond Clemens. Malteseexpert at least has something to build on when he next logs in and if he can improve their form they may still have a big say in the season. Nothing much changes for Howemiester with the future being all-important at Norfolk.

Alsancack picked up an impressive win as they triumphed 2-1 at Cressex. Chances would come at both ends during an interesting contest with the first being a free-kick for the hosts which Emil Rojas put wide. Gabriel Agbonlahor side-footed wide for Alsancak before Rojas had another free-kick effort this time saved for the hosts. Cressex would miss a great chance to take the lead as Lauro Poggi put a penalty against the angle before Fraizer Campbell smashed a mishit shot against the post for Alsancak. The score would remain goalless at the break but the second-half would see more chances arrive. Tyrggvi Valsson put a header over before he did much better with his second effort to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. Gabriel Baldwin responded for Alsancak but his free-kick was saved by Clooney but they would level as a powerful strike by Mark Noble wasn’t to be saved. A minute later and Baldwin brushed the post with an effort as the visitors stepped up the pressure. They would be rewarded as Agbonlahor again mishit his shot but this time found the back of the net. Eoghan Millar missed a late chance but it wasn’t to matter as the visitors held on for a priceless win. Wienersnitzel has his young charges in sixth and with good form they could take some scalps this term. Villan_RAS will hope his side bounces back following their first defeat of the season and they look in with a good shout as they travel to EspAda on Friday.

Amateurs remain unbeaten

The Yorkshire Amateurs maintained their unbeaten start to their season with an entertaining game at Estadio EL Madrigal earlier this week. The big talking point was a disallowed goal in the first half for the Amateurs, referee Will Taykabribe bizarrely ruling out what seemed a perfectly good goal.
Villareal played much better in the second half and were probably decent value for a point in the end.
The Amateurs take on high flying Hicktown Hillbillies in what is sure to be a fascinating match up at the top end of the table.

Away win

Kensington Boys Club managed a great win against Milan, scoring 4 goals away. This causes a headscratch or two for manager PatrikPatrik.

"It's difficult at the moment. I mean sure, I can see some hints as to why we lost 5-0 the last match and now won 4-2 but when we lose we tend to do it really badly. Those sort of matches, I feel like we might as well could have not prepared for the match at all and concede less goals. I'm happy for the last win but until we can get some concistency, I am a troubled lad."

Point For Stanley

Before the game Markham would have took a point against an improving side managed by a quality manager , but was slightly disappointed not to come away with all 3 .

" We had more possesion and created twice as many chances you have to be disappointed especially to conceed a last minute goal to a dubious free kick, credit to the lads we are missing our number one keeper, star midfielder and quality forward who is capable of turning a game for you all through injury, I`ve told the lads to be not too disappointed in the dressing and focus on our next match"

Gooners Unlucky To Only Get A Point

With the arrival of the new manager came expectation, and Gooners didnt disappoint. They went at wortley straight from the whistle and it should have been 6 - 0 by halftime. They did manage to lead the game easily for 89 minutes until leaking the eqaulizer right at the death the final score was 3 - 3.

Gooners manager finally caught up with the press and had this to say, "Im fairly new to Xpert Eleven having only joined from halfway through last season but i see this as an advantage and not a handicap. I think i have proven myself to be a very capable manger in my 1st season already".

As for the team they were unlucky today and i can take many positives from the performance! Although they will need more organizing at the back. From the little i seen so far they keep the ball well and are very good attacking. Its a shame our best striker is out for some time and we will endevour to speed up his recovery but overall im very happy with what the previous manger did before he left. Of course i will add my own stamp on the team and business is already well underway in the transfer market and as everyone knows i do love a bargin!

As for the future, i think this team can and will step up a level now and i never look further than the next game which is a six pointer against Dream Team. Its the kind of game i live for ;)

Back on Top

Carthage have made it 10 points out of 12 with a convincing win over former rivals Arsenal. Arsenal have perhaps over achieved recently and their previous results have been outstanding. However in todays clash Carthage were clearly the better team and ended up triumphant with a 4-1 away win pushing Carthage back into the top spot.

With Juventus up next followed by 2 home games Blakey0500 is confident of another 3 wins on the trott. All eyes are focused on the VIP prize of remaining undefeated and Blakey0500 is optimistically confident.

Winning Streak Ended

Arsenal failed to win their 10th game in a row with a disappointing home defeat. Manager Dom Brown released the following statement after the game,

"Well the run had to end sometime and i had a feeling it would be today as we were up against a stronger team and we played 3 at the back to try and rotate the team abit more. We are still only 1 point off 1st and we will bounce back"

Arsenal must be feeling the loss of star goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski and everyone in the Arsenal camp hopes he can return soon

Back in top3

Hicktown are back in the top 3 after a very boring 1-0 win against AJ. We next play Yorshires who are directly below us and still undefeated at thier patch. This will be another tough game but the lads are looking for a positive result.

Creditable Draw

Kirkbride Strollers managed their first away point of the season with a 1-1 draw away at Manchester United. The game was a close hard fought affair with UItd grabbing an early lead only to be pegged back by a Mark Blacklock header, though with the Strollers keeper Ted Hill claiming the mom award it may well have been a lucky result.

Strollers manager jazza1958 decided to throw youngster Noel Rumney into the match despite him only joining the senior squad 24 hours earlier. This decision came to be a mistakie with young rumney only lasting 15 minutes before having to come off injured. young Rumneys future looks to be away from the club with him being put onto the transfer list.

Manager jazza1958 said "Rumney is without doubt a great young player and will go onto have a great future but club funds are tight and his future could well lie elsewhere. As for the match, we wanted a point from the match and we got one but I feel we had enough chances to win the game"

Return to Winning Ways

Town News

Morley emerged victorious this evening with a 2-0 win against Mighty Mojos, a return to winning ways after their disappointing loss to Gooners, goals from Helder Velez and Dustin Wotton were enough to see Morley clinch the win and three valuable points.

In other news Edward Shore looks to be on his way out of Morley as the transfer listed defender has attracted a number of bids which are believed to be higher than Morley's valuation of the player.

we won yes you read it right we won

Fitzy took a long look at the date after his teams 4 1 victory.

Seeing it wasn't April 1st he gave a whoop with delight.

'We won and we scored I said things could only get better and they have.'

Graeme Sharp scored a hat trick on his recall.

His only concern was that Kroklund Kings manager Bossebong made the bizarre decision to tightly mark his keeper.

'I know he is the best player in the league but marking him seems to be a strange thing to do.'

a little better

Bonkers got their second win of this season against old rivals the White Hawks. It was a strong effort by them but the older experience of this squad kept it together and won the game. This quickly moves the team up to sticking distance of those all important promotion spots. That is the sole aim of this season. So the team will be looking to win every game just to make sure that they are playing first division football next season.

Gooners Sign New Manager

Gooners today revealed new manager F.M.R... He was not available for press today and the pres were given this statement by a team official.

Unfortunately the new manager is busy preparing for the game against Wortley, his last minute arrival means he is thrown in at the deep end, with such a crucial game today! He is now meeting the players and will make a full press statement after todays game.

Tír Eoghain get new manager.

In a surprise move Tir Eoghain ended up getting a new manager as old manager Tyroneabu had been removed from the xperteleven membership!

Thankfully there was already a manager waiting for a team and we welcome FMRealism to the league.

FMRealism is a fairly new manager to the game but i'm sure with some time he can become a great manager.

Time to Kick On

These Charming Men held Splott Rovers to a 1-1 on Friday night in what was pretty much a damp squid of a game with just 2 chances to both side. Rovers had to rely on a Frank Punisher penalty to draw them level after Rajabi had opened the scoring for TCM. Although it make it three game undefeated for Rovers the boss is hoping to start picking up a few more 3 pointers soon, hopefully starting with tonight's match against Juventus. The teams have met twice before with Splott Rovers coming out on top twice, and carbonmonoxide will be hoping to make it a hat-trick of wins by the end of the day.

Santos Sweep to 9 out of 9

Santos won their third game in a row with a solid 2-0 success at home to Underdogz United. A second minute free-kick by Robbie Mitchell set the tone for the afternoon by striking the angle. The forward then struck a low shot wide before tapping to Rogerio Franca who also hit an effort off-target. They duly got their goal on 28 minutes as Franca made no mistake from the spot and might have been 2-0 up had Asmar Golkas’ half-volley not brushed the post. Rico Raffaelli sent a header wide before Underdogz responded. Luca Tonizu lobbed against the angle with a clever effort and Benicio Correa nearly gave them a helping hand when he headed close to his own goal. United would carry this revival into the beginning of the second-half but once Zlatan Izuhimovic had wasted a chance their resilience seemed to fade. Mitchell headed in the hosts’ second with an accomplished finish and further goals might have followed but Rafaelli headed at the ‘keeper before Mitchell hit a free-kick off-target. Sean7 met with the media after the win and explained that the club had formed ‘contingencies in the event (their) game plan falters.’ With this being the case there doesn’t appear a more prepared side in the RMI this season as they bid to claim their first title success. Izuka called the result ‘a bad loss’ before admitting his ‘mind was elsewhere’ on the day.

West Brom Strollers are still the side to catch following a 4-2 away win at Hun Haters. Following a quiet start a Lee Hughes lob needed saving by Boruc before Billy Bassett’s free-kick also needed palming round. There was nothing Boruc could do about the opening goal, though, as Cyrille Regis headed in accurately on 39 minutes. HH did find a response before half-time with Craig Elliston netting with a stunning free-kick. Lawrie Gow nearly produced the most remarkable turnaround but his chip narrowly failed to make the grade. The second-half had a quiet start also but Regis put an effort well-wide on 65 minutes. They looked like paying for missed chances when an Iain Emery lob put HH 2-1 up with only 17 minutes to go. However, West Brom responded like the all-star team they are and a Hughes header levelled matters on 82 minutes. It was quickly 3-2 to the visitors as Bassett placed home from inside the area and an insurance goal came from Regis as he chipped over Boruc to make it 4-2. Dinky will be keen for Carson to step up his game in future matches as the ‘keeper nearly cost his side their 100% record. However, scoring goals for fun the Strollers look tough to match on current form. Celticchris will have been disappointed with his side’s late capitulation but will concentrate on the positives with his side showing great intent going forward.

Kirkbride Strollers won their first game in the division with a stunning 2-1 home success over reigning champions ThunderCats. It was the visitors who had the opening opportunity but Placido Polo was denied by Hill. A similar chance ensued at the other end with Magro denying Billy Maneater. El Lapinho would have more success for the Strollers with an accurate shot finding the corner to give them the lead. Maneater failed to make it 2-0 with a header and the champions hit back as Juliano Leite drilled home a penalty. There was still time for Polo to have a free-kick effort but Hill made the save and the sides went in level. ThunderCats had the first chance after the break and Hill was called into action once more to save from Fabricio Cidade’s header. With time running out the visitors saw a powerful shot from Leite hit the woodwork before disaster struck at the other end. A free-kick by Stephen Robinson having too much power on it for Magro to handle to give the Strollers a superb 2-1 win. Jazza called it a ‘priceless 3 points’ before going out to celebrate the win. Meelas’ side has had a mediocre start to the season by his own high standards and will now need to find a run of form to chase down the five point gap on top spot.

AFC Stanley kept up their impressive start to the campaign with a 1-0 home win over Tranmere. Stanley had the opening chance but John MacClintock shot some distance wide. He produced a better headed effort moments later but found his luck out as did Luke Riou who hit the post with a placed strike. Kirk Armitage also saw a header miss the target as the score remained goalless at half-time. Tranmere finally had a chance in the early stages of the second-half but Kartsen Seibert’s header hit wood and went safe. Stanley eventually made the breakthrough on 61 minutes as a brilliant free-kick from Matts Wallman defeated Sjolund in goal. Tranmere tried to respond and came within inches as Eadbhard Liffey hit the angle of post and bar with a fine strike on 74 minutes. This proved the last chance as Stanley went home with three vital points. Markham33 was pleased with the victory but according to Stanley News was left ‘hoping there are no more injuries to the squad.’ Baz has seen his side lose their opening three games narrowly and will be hoping for a change of fortune soon.

Totaalvoetbal returned to winning ways with a 2-0 away win at renamed Sanity Clause. Clause had the opening chance with Elvis MacCaran forcing Leemans into an early save. However, it would be Totaal who would strike two quick blows. Johan Juffing hit in a thumping opener on 10 minutes before debutant William Ralph Dean volleyed in number two on 11 minutes. The home side tried to hit back through MacCaran but his header went over and the half-time score remained 2-0. Totaal opened the second-half with a Shivan Preetnav strike which was saved by Widlund. Leemans was forced into action at the other end to deny MacCaran once more and the forward would suffer more disappointment as a header was gathered by the cat. Eugene Kameni Idriss had a free-kick saved and when Yves Vairelles was sent-off the home side’s chance had gone. Bryan Robson had a late free-kick saved but they had already done enough to secure a solid 2-0 win. Robin Meeblind was happy that Dean had ‘settled in with the team’ quickly and looks forward to seeing a blossoming partnership between him and van Diemen. Bus_dude2001 will look to stamp his authority on his new team in the hope to get them off the bottom of the table in the coming weeks.

The other game saw Manchester United and The Vikings fight out a dour 0-0 draw at Old Trafford. In a tight game neither side found any attacking fluency. Indeed, the only chance came late in the game with Anastasios Tassiopoulos mishitting his shot. After he had gotten over the boredom Eaglesrjh declared it ‘not a bad result’ as his side maintain their unbeaten start to the season. Pakya’s side now have their first point on the board and they will look to build on that against Kirkbride on Tuesday.

Pahang Pickpockets Go Top

Pahang United kept up their perfect record with a smash n grab away win at Hicktown Hillbillies. In a game light on chances Hicktown would pay the price for wasting theirs. Billy Ray Bongle chipped the ball over on 15 minutes in what proved to be the only opening of the first 45 minutes. The second-half was similar as Billy Bob hit a free-kick too close to Hussain as Pahang stood firm. They were rewarded with their only chance of the game and Rano Pantow showed great composure to head home in injury-time to claim three points for United. Mr T will undoubtedly be delighted with his side’s mean defence and they will look to extend their winning run to four with a home game on Tuesday. Gary_C saw his side lose their first game of the season but won’t push the panic button as they sit well-placed in fourth and look a solid unit.

Yorkshires Amateurs kept close order at the top of the table with a 5-0 thumping of Kensington Boys Club. A second minute header by Antony Wallwork sent them on their way and the forward came close to making it 2-0 as his header hit the angle of post and bar on nine minutes. A free-kick on 15 minutes saw Andrew Potts hit a post before a lob header by Amadeo Caviedes made it 2-0 on 22 minutes. This would be the end of the action for the first-half but the Amateurs would be quickly into their stride after the break. A lob by Micky Cox swiftly made it 3-0 on 47 minutes and although Adrian Gray and Aubrey de Vere had efforts at the other end the result was never in doubt. Caviedes added his second with a powerful strike from distance before Cox was denied by Lorentzen. A set-piece on 73 minutes saw Potts add his first goal and the Amateurs ran out worthy 5-0 winners. Amateurs News called it a ‘resounding victory’ and added the side ‘will look to maintain their unbeaten form’ on Tuesday. Patrik asked if his match could be left ‘out of it’ when it came to the reports and the manager will be keen for his side to erase it from their memory banks as they move on.

White Hawk and F.C. Greatness remained unbeaten following a 1-1 draw at White Stadium. Greatness saw Angelo Foggia lob home on 11 minutes only for it to be disallowed for offside. This didn’t deny them for long, though, as Fabio Cannavaro thumped in from distance to open the scoring on 26 minutes. This proved to be the last chance of the first-half but the game opened up after the interval. Cannavaro hit an exciting bicycle kick at Dankoi while Charly Chan Jet Soe volleyed over at the other end. Hawk had a header by Matts Perman saved but the midfielder did equalise as he hit through Rachao’s legs on 52 minutes. A free-kick by Faust Baronchelli was saved as Greatness looked to regain the lead and the forward was unfortunate as he hit wood with a fine header. Meanwhile, Ryan Dharmsingh headed straight at the ‘keeper before back-heeling straight at Rachao as the chances came and went. Hawk would have a guilt-edged effort from the spot but Perman hit a poor shot but Greatness couldn’t capitalise as Angelo Foggia headed off-target. This proved the last of the openings and Darren Calvert sees his side slip to third but still unbeaten following an impressive opening to the season. Hooraymee has his side in mean mood defensively and when they start scoring more freely they could be one of the teams to watch in a tight section.

PSV Eindhoven won their first game of the season in an exciting 3-2 success over AC Milan. The first chance fell to the visitors with Jonte Sandholm unfortunately hitting wood with a super effort. Milan continued to impress early and Bernard Lormor forced Reina into a save. Eindhoven responded on 17 minutes with Claudio Collauto hitting a powerful low shot against a post. Milan were the next to try their luck but Savino Piovanelli couldn’t make a side-footed effort count before a free-kick by Vittorio Cornacchini hit the bar. Timmy Simons headed wide at the other end before the deadlock was finally broken as Victor Moses made good from distance for the visitors. The lead proved short-lived as Simons hit a low shot beyond Levein. Moses saw a header go close for Milan before Piovanelli did head them back into the lead on the stroke of half-time. Eindhoven would improve greatly in the second-half and Simons went close on 47 minutes with a looping header. Colluato would equalise following a swift breakaway while Lormor was denied by Reina as Milan looked to hit back straight away. PSV were looking good by this stage and Levein needed to be sharp to deny Xabi Alonso while the ‘keeper found Jeremiah McNally’s effort somewhat easier. The home side would strike the front, though, as Simons netted his second following an excellent counter. Ray Summerville looked to bring Milan level but got his shot all wrong and PSV edged the points at the end of a thrilling encounter. Kadri will be happy that his young side have points on the board and it will serve as a good confidence booster ahead of their trip to Greatness. Xmensch will hope his side can bounce back at home to KBC and there was a lot to be proud of in their performance.

Bonkers also picked up their first victory with a 2-1 success over Real Madrid FC. They opened up quickly and were in front courtesy of a Stefan Beelenkamp lob. Aren Garabedian and Samvel Mortanian missed opportunities to draw Madrid level as they forced their way into the contest while Joel Weymouth got a lob horribly wrong for Bonkers. Madrid managed the first effort of the second-half but Kevin Gabriele missed a header and their task was doubled as Philip Calderwood steered home Bonkers’ second goal from inside the area. Madrid did pull a goal back as Garabedian side-footed in neatly but the only other chance fell to Chris Sutton for the hosts and even though Nersesian saved easily the points belonged to Bonkers. GarethLloyd will undoubtedly feel better now his side have registered their first three points and they will have their sights further up the table as the season unfolds. FredRizzo will be frustrated with his side’s start and it doesn’t look to get much easier with a trip to table-topping Pahang on Tuesday.

AJ Rovers and Villarreal fought out a tough 0-0 draw at AJR Arena in the other game. AJ had the first chance on 27 minutes but Sonny Vickerman hit a free-kick over. Eustace Bain did think he had scored moments later but was disappointed by the assistant referee’s flag. The second-half saw Rovers start better again but Morgan Deane’s shot was held by Abrey before the visitors had a fine effort from Ilppo Visavuouri tipped round. Villarreal also wasted a chance through Jonathan Boulding as he hit an effort over while Daniel Tabaranu did likewise at the other end. The visitors were unfortunate not to pinch all three points as Boulding hit a free-kick against wood and with Ger Wattamaleo’s sending-off they had to settle for a point. Rothion’s side have the full set following their first three games but will be looking for more goals as the weeks go by. Cathal’s side now have their first point on the board but expectations will be higher than a relegation battle and they will look to move upwards in future games.

Kroklund Top Sauce

Kroklund Kings progressed up the Division Two standings with a hard-fought victory over Reggae Reggae Sauce. RRS had an early blow when Shay Mullen was forced off and with no second ‘keeper in the squad it was left to defender Terry Jenkins to step into the firing line. They would have the first chance of the game, though, with Alfredo D’Addadzio seeing a speculative bicycle kick go close to giving them the opener. A free-kick tapped to Christiano Torres resulted in the forward firing wide as RRS continued to impress in the first-half. The second 45 minutes saw Kroklund come more into the game and indeed they would open the scoring with their first effort as Curt Elliott steered in on 53 minutes. RRS had a response on 74 minutes but Tyrone Barratt’s fierce shot was disallowed for offside. They would find the equaliser on 90 minutes, though, as Fernando Ronaldo produced a calm finish in the area following panic in the home defence. However, Kroklund were stung by this and Bosse Bong was denied by stand-in ‘keeper Jenkins before, on 94 minutes, Gabriel Galtier headed home superbly to give the home side all three points. Bossebong was a relived man after admitting that he had ‘forgot the game today’ and so a top three standing will be well-received in Kroklund. Xpertelevener sees his side in familiar territory following a winless start to the season and he will be working hard in an effort to turn the season round for the club’s long-suffering supporters.

Arsenal maintained their 100% record with an enthralling 3-2 home victory over Juventus. Arsenal had an early chance but Andrey Arshavin’s free-kick was easily gathered by Fuentes. Eduardo da Silva would fare no better against substitute ‘keeper Danotti minutes later following an injury to Fuentes. Juventus would then create an opening of their own but Jorn Fruh couldn’t make a powerful shot tell while da Silva chipped against the angle at the other end. The second-half started in fast fashion with Carlos Vela narrowly missing for Arsenal before they were hit at the other end as Alberto Morantes planted in a timely header. Arsenal were gifted a route back into the contest as Claude Blanquet put past his own ‘keeper just after the hour and Arshavin then headed home to put the hosts in front. Arshavin would hit a free-kick straight at Danotti before hitting the crossbar with another set-piece. They would get their third goal as da Silva calmly slotted home a penalty to give them a two-goal cushion. Blanquet would miss a headed chance and Thomas Vermaelen nearly put through his own goal as Juventus produced a spirited response. The chances continued to come in injury-time as Abou Diaby had a goal disallowed for offside while Mairthin Foley did pull a goal back for Juve with a flick header. This proved too late to save them, though, and Arsenal sit two points clear following an impressive start. Arsenal News reported the loss of Fabianski a ‘big blow’ ahead of their crunch match with Carthage. Juve, meanwhile, still remain with only one point and another tough match awaits away at Splott Rovers.

Carthage FC warmed up for their big match with Arsenal by slipping past Belly Tubbies 1-0. Carthage always looked the more accomplished side although a penalty by Marcus Spillane was saved by Fitzsimmons to give the Tubbies an early boost. Ad Herbal would also waste a late chance in the half as the sides went in goalless at the break. The Tubbies forced the first chance after the interval but Kevin Sheedy’s header was saved by Aurelius and it was all Carthage from this moment on. Herbal would get his goal on 74 minutes with a clever flick header and although he had a shot saved and Eric Fray was also denied by Fitzsimmons the damage was done. Fitzy was in honest mood when he said ‘3 games, 0 goals. Things can only get better.’ Meanwhile, Blakey will be in confident mood as his side travel to Arsenal after only conceding one goal in their first three matches.

These Charming Men and Splott Rovers put in strong performances to cancel each other out in a 1-1 draw at Irregulars Arena. It would be the home side who would strike first as Loran Rajabi struck well from inside the area on 15 minutes to leave Ghostrider with no chance in goal. However, Splott would respond well to this setback and had already seen Frank Punisher go close with a header before a penalty by the midfielder levelled the game on 37 minutes. The second-half tightened up even further with just the one more chance. It fell to the home side but Stuart Cooksey’s shot missed the goal by some distance. Both sides have five points and remain unbeaten as managers RDCM and Carbonmonoxide respectively look to lead their side into Division One for next season with the latter admitting that his side was ‘lucky to get a draw today.’

Futsal moved into fourth with a comfortable 4-0 away success at St Omer. In truth both sides enjoyed chances in an open game but it was Futsal who showed the greater composure in front of goal. Ricky Routhledge forced Hamshaw into an early save in the home goal before Omer responded with Joseph Radders hitting an effort wide. Rick Tuttle would disappoint by hitting tamely at the ‘keeper before Rowley Forrester did give Futsal the lead with an excellent free-kick. The second-half saw more chances with Omer having an early Radley effort go wide. Radders would make it 2-0 rather luckily with a mishit shot while Alf Ackroyd lobbed in number three just before the hour. Omer kept plugging away but Arne Seiffert’s effort was easily saved and they were 4-0 down as Ackroyd headed in his second of the game. Cony Tottee’s header was saved at the other end while Futsal wasted a penalty as Hamshaw made a theatrical save from Forrester. Lucas Ravelli fired the last chance off-target for the home side as Futsal added a clean sheet to their impressive day. Jake appears to have his side moving in the right direction and they will fancy their chances of another three points at RRS on Tuesday. ConyTottee’s side keep losing but while they remain strong form-wise it will be well worth it come the season’s end.

The Lone Wanderers and Los Samgeles Kings fought out a 1-1 draw at The Capital Wasteland in the division’s other game. The home side started brightly and a back heel by Arsim Kule opened the scoring on 11 minutes while a toe-poke by Frans Fleischer demanded a great save from Ersberg. The Kings did fight back but Anze Kopitar’s effort was too close to Peyton in goal. A free-kick from Dragos Ceaun missed the goal as the lead remained just one at the interval. Alexander Frolov fired an early warning for the home side as he shot just wide as the Kings looked to draw level. The equaliser did come on 56 minutes as a well-placed shot by Dustin Brown proved too accurate for Peyton to the delight of the visiting fans. Stephen Julius missed a late chance to win it for the Wanderers as Ersberg gathered and both sides had to settle for a point apiece. HH will be happy with his side’s unbeaten start to the season but will want them to kick on. Stripy will be keen for his side to pick up their first victory but there has been enough in their opening three games to suggest they will take some scalps this season.

Is it time for another win?

After two lost matches there will be a time to win a match. We still have some squad problems, especially in defence but that might be solved till tomorrow when we expect a new defender, furthermore we count on him to be our first man in defence! But we have to wait till tomorrow to see if he will decide for us or maybe some other team will give him better offer.

Perfect Start Not a Dream

Dream Team put in a dominating performance but left it late to eventually defeat EspAda 3-1. Luke Light gave Dream Team an excellent start by planting a header beyond Kerrigan on 14 minutes while Warren Wish nearly added another as he chipped over. Diego Maradona did likewise with a lob at the other end as the half finished quietly. The second-half began with Adam Aspire being denied by Kerrigan before Wish skimmed the crossbar with another effort. These missed chances came back to haunt the home side as Sidney Motter placed a calm shot home for EspAda on 68 minutes to level matters. DT set about trying to reassert themselves but Ronaldo Ready missed the target before Light was denied by Kerrigan from distance. Garry Gain saw a driving shot saved before he placed a header way off-target as they continued to be frustrated. Gain wouldn’t be denied forever, though, and on 84 minutes he drilled in a powerful low shot which put them back in front. Two minutes later and it was game over as Wish connected well with a powerful strike to make it 3-1. MrJames gave a celebratory ‘woop’ on victory and things look to be going very much according to plan as they sit top of the table with the maximum nine points. New manager Malteseexpert has the task of moulding his side and with the season still in its early stages there is every chance he can make an impact.

Wortley afc also have nine points after the first three matches as they edged out Glory Hornets 3-2 at the western. The Hornets had the first chance and Toma Popadic saw his miscued effort come back off the post and cleared. The home side responded through a Walter Willock driving shot which flew past Rosbotham for the opening goal. However, the Hornets were still well in the game and Popadic fared better with his second effort as he hit the back of the net from distance. Lionel Monk swiftly made it 2-1 to the visitors with a powerful strike. Brandon Hiller did manage to head in an equaliser on 40 minutes for the hosts but it was the Hornets who were pressing before the break as Popadic missed a headed opportunity. The second-half belonged to wortley, though, as they looked for the goal which would give them three points. Willock would have a side-footed effort held by Rosbotham before Quincy Bowey was sent-off for elbowing as the home side’s task became harder. Despite this they would continue to press with Willock missing with a header before placing a fine shot beyond the ‘keeper for a dramatic 90th minute winner. Thegreatlordbags will be pleased with the resolute nature of his side and if they can continue in this scoring fashion they look set to make a big impression this term. GregPerkins has had the exact opposite start as they are now pointless from three matches and the manager will need to work hard to turn things round.

Tir Eoghain put an end to Morley Town’s unbeaten start with a 4-0 victory at Parc Oilean na Ghull. The home side were dominant throughout and had already gone close through Broderick Shilton before a precise header by Harold Hankers gave them the lead. Andres Iniesta made it 2-0 on 19 minutes as he hit through the legs of Zubeldia. Reno Robredo did try to respond for the hosts but his free-kick hit the woodwork whilst Iniesta’s set-piece at the other end nestled in the back of the net for 3-0 to the hosts. Shilton made it 4-0 on 42 minutes by completing an excellent breakaway move and the game was over as a contest. The home side remained the better side after the break but Iniesta’s header was saved before Jim Hotte put his diving header wide. Adolf Munzberg did miss the goal with an effort at the other end in what turned out to be a thoroughly disappointing day for Morley. Tyroneabu is living up to the early season claim that his side ‘are ready’ as they sit unbeaten in third and with a big match against wortley next up we will learn even more about this progressive side then. Morley News reported the performance as ‘abject’ and will expect a big improvement on Tuesday.

Rolling Thunder and Cressex were involved in the game of the day as they shared six goals to finish with a point each. Thunder started brightly and an eighth minute penalty gave Marcelo da Silva the chance to put them in front. John Obi Mikel had a shot saved by Clooney before he put another effort over the bar as the home side remained on top. A breakaway move saw Danilo Bauza miss the target while Cressex emerged as an attacking force as Luca Scolza shot wide at the other end. Carasario Falcioni headed wide shortly afterwards before Augusto Ferrazzoli powered in a low shot from distance to make it 1-1. Cressex were buoyant and Douglas Wallberg placed the ball through the legs of McArraway to make it 2-1 on 40 minutes. The second-half continued in attacking fashion with Thunder opening up by equalising thanks to an excellent Bauza free-kick. The same player then placed the ball beyond Clooney to complete the turnaround moments later. However, Cressex wouldn’t be quietened at the other end as Ferrazzoli added a sumptuous lob to make it 3-3 on 53 minutes. Thunder saw Erland Hangeland head over while Ferrazzoli was denied by the ‘keeper at the other end. There was still time for Benjamin Unesson to have a chance to win it for the hosts but he placed his shot too close to Clooney and the game ended in stalemate. Jimmy will be pleased with how his side is responding to his management and they will only get better the longer the young coach works with them. Villan_RAS has his side unbeaten on five points and they look equipped to have a much better season following their recent relegations.

Mighty Mojos are also on five points after winning a tight game at Jammas AllStars. The Mojos opened the scoring on 16 minutes as Jayden Stevens shot home in the area and the goal would prove the match-winner as defences remained on top. A shot on 79 minutes by Ferdinand Quinn narrowly failed to make it 2-0 but they had done enough to secure three valuable points. SpikyJamie will be more than pleased when he logs back in to see his side well-placed in sixth and looking defensively sound. Jamma’s side will encounter tough matches such as these as the manager looks to build a youthful side but they will reap the rewards in seasons to come.

Alsancak won the battle of the young teams as they defeated Norfolk 4-1 at Mosquito Alley. An early header by John Burston needed saving by Clemens before Fraizer Campbell headed wide. Evgeny Kuryanov responded by heading off-target for Norfolk but Dante Allegri did manage to put the visitors in front with a clinical header on 17 minutes. Alsancak kept their cool, though, with Campbell placing the ball home accurately 12 minutes later to level matters. Burston followed suit with a precise header on 33 minutes to put Alsancak in front and although Campbell had a goal disallowed Burston did make it 3-1 before the break with another excellent header. The second-half saw fewer chances but Burston did net his hat-trick goal with a thumping volley on 66 minutes. Andy Howe wasted a chance at the other end but Norfolk were well-beaten and their day ended more disappointingly as Rowan Whitlow was sent-off late in the day. Wienersnitzel will be relieved to get his side’s first points of the season as they look to compete while remaining in good form throughout the season. Howemiester will be happy with his side’s first goal but they remain whipping boys of the division.

Back

After a week in hiding, HappyHibee1991 has poked his way in quietly back into The Capital Wasteland. 3 games down and 2 where he has absconded. Leaving in a hurry he ran past the waiting media as he prepares to regain control over the club and possibly his personal life.

Manager Eaglesrjh said after the game. " hmm, wha, oh you've woken me up, boring, boring game. Can you come and help me wake the two keepers they appear to be comatoze through inactivity! Seriously that was a boring game, on reflection a point here is not a bad result but we will play much better than that this season!"

Boring Boring Santos

It didn’t matter whether Santos FC picked up the full 6 points against Tranmere and Underdogz United. It didn’t even matter that Santos sit in second place after 3 games. No, what fans saw, was a completely different team to the one a season ago.

Manager Sean7’s words have come to fruition when he declared that a change in their style would be needed. Too many times had Santos suffered from inconsistent play from both sides of the ball. One season their offence was invincible, yet defence invisible. The reverse happened in the second season, with the offence stagnating. A change in personnel would be needed to keep with the ever-changing scope of the RM Invitational.

The past two results have confirmed this. The 1-0 win at Prenton Park was reminiscent of George Graham’s Arsenal, with fans half-heartedly declaring ‘1-0 to the Arse’. Midfield general Panu Sarapää scored the lone goal in the 35th minute, a powerful header past the outstretched arms of Gunvald Sjölund. The second half, the squad was content with keeping possession, daring the opposition to get the ball from them. At the final whistle, the away fans, while pleased with the win, were still coming to grips with this change.

The next game, hosting Underdogz United, Santos reverted back to their old self in the first half, peppering the opposition goal with 6 shots, yet only 1 goal to account for it through a penalty by Rogério França. Robbie Mitchell put the game away in the 69th minute with a tidy finish from a corner. Nonetheless, Santos were again content with playing possession until the final whistle. The once vibrant Estádio do Deus seemed to resemble Riverside Stadium on a December afternoon. Even Santos legend Sonny Ozzinho commented that this was a different team than which he played in.

‘They are much stronger on the ball, more fierce, and challenge well in the midfield. The last couple of games I’ve seen from them, they run the opposition right out of the park. The tenacity and desire to win the ball, is something that cannot be under-estimated. I feel that is the real reason to their success in the early going.’

Nonetheless, there have been quiet rumblings throughout the fan base that they are turning into long-ball team. With many of their goals coming from set pieces, not open-play, the fans haven’t been as enthusiastic with their support of the change. Sean7 understands their concerns, albeit with puzzling analogies.

“If you eat caviar every day, it's difficult to return to sausages. However, I hope the fans understand that our approach will vary game-to-game. With a stronger league comes the need to form contingencies in the event our game plan falters. Our home advantage is one of the best in the league: there is no one else that has better fans as our club. And that is why we need full support from the fans. A football team is like a beautiful woman. When you do not tell her, she forgets she is beautiful.”

At this point, a glint came into the gaffer’s eye, and he walked away indifferently, a bemused smirk forming from his lips.

Strength, flamboyance, pragmatic…add enigmatic to Santos vocabulary.

Not too bad

Underdogz United have started out well in their second season in the RM Invitational, earning two wins and a loss after three matches. For one of the weakest teams in the league, it has been a huge achievement to defeat Sanity Clause and one of the best teams in the league, Totaalvoetbal. Underdogz United will next host AFC Stanley at the Surprise Stadium.

Matt Finish For Stanley

An 80th minute wonder strike from Matts Wallman was the difference as Stanley defeated Tranmere 1-0, in a one sided first half Stanley failed to convert any of there 4 chances whilst Tranmere failed to muster a single chance.

The second half was a quieter affair with both sides only having 1 chance each, but the difference was Wallman who sent the home fans home with a smile on there face.

The victory came at a price though as midfielder Dijedon Betimaj joined Allan Martindale on the long term injury list leaving manager Markham33 hoping there are no more injuries to his squad

Happy Ending for Totaal

Totaalvoetbal had an up-and-down week as they followed a 2-0 home defeat to Underdogz United with a 2-0 away victory at Sanity Clause.

The Underdogz United game proved a disappointing home opener as Izuka’s side came to Metelo Park and dominated proceedings. Setting up in a defensive manner they stemmed much of what Totaal could produce and showed attacking incision when it was their turn to break.

Robin van Izu was the match winner as he headed in sublimely from an Ian Wright cross before beating the hapless Rex Rimmer with a well-taken free-kick.

In the days between the Underdogz match and their trip to Sanity Clause manager Robin Meeblind busied himself in the transfer market in a player plus cash deal for William Ralph Dean.

It had been no secret that the manager had wanted to bring in some experience up front and he sacrificed young midfielder Akerboom to get his man.

The signing proved inspired as a surging Totaal took the Clause game by the scruff of its neck to open with two goals in 11 minutes. Johan Juffing had already found his range from distance before Dean opened his account after linking up with Pierre van Diemen to produce a clinical strike inside the area.

Totaal never looked in danger from this moment and took the points which give their start a more promising look.

Meeblind was pleased with the response:

“The boys were down after the United game and we have looked to lift them with a fresh face in Dixie,” he opened.

“He has settled in with the team and his goal will also help. There will be no more signings unless disaster strikes but hopefully the youth team can provide us with timely boosts as the season progresses.

“We have a massive home game next but due to my terrible record against Eagles I have left the team in the capable hands of Fletcher Bisceps in the hope he can produce a strong performance.

“I shall watch the game from inside the stadium and welcome Eagles for a quick drink after the game before heading off to watch my beloved Barnsley play Manchester United’s fifth-team in the Carling Cup.”

Amateurs thump Kensington

The Yorkshire Amateurs saw off their southern counterparts earlier this week with a resounding 5-0 victory at the Thorp Arches. The Amateurs went for an attacking formation with 3 up top and this paid dividends with all the strikers getting on the score sheet. Amazingly for such an impressive attacking performance it was defender Vince Brightwell who walked off with the man of the match award after an imposing defensive performance. His more attack minded centre half partner Andrew Potts managed a goal and an assist too as the Amateurs really hit top form. They will look to maintain their unbeaten form when they visit the Estadio El Madrigal for their next game against Spanish giants Villareal.

Just Criminal

Adolf Münzberg has been arrested for alleged money laundering. The player refutes the allegations completely but faces a lengthy trial process in the High Court. Apart from the loss of a player for around a month, Morley Town F.C.'s reputation suffers as a consequence.

To add to Morley's woe they suffered a heavy defeat to Tir Eoghain after an abject performance by every player on the pitch, Morley manager Leeg21 has read the riot act to his players warning them that promotion must be acheived after two seasons of dissapointment.

3 outta 3 for Arsenal

Arsenal kept their 100% record with a 3-2 win. They did however lose their new goalkeeper through injury which is a big blow heading into the next match against old division 3 rival Carthage FC.

Hard Fought win

The Strollers needed a 94th minute free kick to see off defending RM Invitational champions off at The Bush. Stephen Robinson stepped up and rifled the ball home to send the home fans wild and manager Jazza1958 to the pub happy.

Earlier in the game El Lapinhios' strike had been cancelled out by a highly dubious penalty. The game however was marred by an injury to the highly influential Nélson Queimado of The ThunderCats and all at Kirkbride wish him a speedy recovery.

Manager Jazza1958 said " These were a priceless 3 points as we need to win our home games to have any chance of staying in this division. Our win takes us out of the bottom 3 but we now have another 2 games on the road so we need to work hard to see if we can get an unbeaten run together, the fixture list has been particularly hard on us with 4 of our first 5 matches away from home"

"Now is the time for celebration though so it's beer O'Clock for me"

Cisco FC change manager and name

Cisco FC are very pleased to be able to unveil their new manager after 802094511 (Big K) stepped down to concentrate on other teams.

The new manager is Bus_dude2001 who is a manager returning to the game after a period of abscence.

The new manager has already changed the team name to Sanity Clause and the club are hoping that this new era will bring success.

The club released a statement saying "We have heard good things about this manager and hope his skills come to to the fore quickly and take the team forward"

Admin Eaglesrjh was again a happy man to fill the vacancy quickly!

Espada move quickly to fill vacancy

Espada wasted no time in finding a new man to take the team forward after the surprise departure of Lone_Totti.

the new manager is Malteseexpert and the manager seems to be new to the game and the club will be hoping he can learn quickly and move the team forward.

A club spokesman said. "yes the manager is unproven, but he may therefore be unpredictable and we are certain we will be moving in the right direction soon."

League Admin Eaglesrjh said "I'm delighted to get the vacancy filled very quickly, we have always welcomed new members to the site into the league and am sure Malteseexpert will fit in well"

West Brom Outpace Strollers

West Brom won the battle of the Strollers with Kirkbride to set the early pace atop the RM Invitational. A free-kick in the first minute saw Hill have to save from Billy Bassett while Stephen Robinson demanded a save from Godden at the other end. Cyrille Regis would put West Brom ahead somewhat fortuitously on 20 minutes as he mishit a shot beyond Hill. Derek Statham powered a shot wildly off-target before El Lapinho stunned the home faithful by heading in an equaliser. West Brom would respond swiftly, though, as Regis netted his second by striking in the penalty area. They would continue to dominate the contest and Bassett had a free-kick saved before the break. The home side would continue to create chances after the break and Lee Hughes had already struck a post before shooting home inside the area to make it 3-1 on 64 minutes. A flick header by Richard Sneekes needed saving by Hill before Bassett added a fourth by lobbing the ‘keeper on 89 minutes. DD was happy his side had ‘worked hard today’ which allowed their ‘class to shine through.’ Jazza admitted the ‘step up (had) been a big one’ and added some of the squad ‘are struggling for form.’

Santos made it two wins from two as they edged Tranmere 1-0 at Prenton Park. Santos would make the only chance of the opening half count as Panu Sarapaa headed in on 35 minutes for the crucial goal. Tranmere threatened after the break but Logan MacCanish and Marten Wessman missed the target with strikes. Eadbhard Liffey did likewise from a free-kick and Raymond Jillhed had a header saved by Rodenas as Tranmere met with frustration. Adriano Ribeiro had the chance to double Santos’ lead but Sjolund turned the header away. This proved irrelevant, though, as the visitors held on for three points which keeps them on track with the early pace-setters in the division. With Sean7 saying his side are ‘ready for the challenge’ this promises to be an exciting campaign for Santos. Tranmere have opened up disappointingly and will now go on the road in the hope of picking up their first points of the season.

Underdogz United continued their fine start to the season as they outplayed Totaalvoetbal at Metelo Park to record a 2-0 victory. The first-half was a quiet affair with only a dangerous back header by Alexeij Ogliarki causing any goalmouth excitement but Valdezuka was the equal to it. Totaal had their first chance at the start of the second-half but Pierre van Diemen could only head wide. This proved costly as Robin van Izu flicked in the opener at the other end and when Rodney Shuttlewood placed an effort wide Totaal’s chance had effectively gone. A free-kick by van Izu sealed the win as Rimmer continued to have a horror game in goal and only a poor effort by Cristiano Izuldo stopped the score from getting worse. Izu explained that he had ‘played youths’ in the hope of a draw and so was pleasantly ‘surprised’ at the result. Robin Meeblind admitted he’d been given ‘a masterclass’ by his counterpart and responded by bringing in the experienced William Ralph Dean to add some firepower up front.

The Vikings continued to adapt well to life in the top flight as they edged out Cisco 3-2 at Viking Land. A free-kick by Aris Almanidis opened the scoring on 18 minutes as he left Widlund helpless in goal. This lead was nearly doubled but Justin Portway’s header went just over. Cisco’s reprieve didn’t last for long, though, as Evstathios Gourmas lobbed home from some way out on 26 minutes. Cisco had their first chance late in the half and Elvis MacCaran made it count to reduce the deficit to one with a clinical header. Lewis Branston would miss a late header as the score remained 2-1 at the break. The second-half opened with Colin Crouch curling an effort against the post for the hosts before Thorbjorn Lind had a header turned over by Widlund. Cisco emerged as an attacking force just before the hour with Ralf Kron forcing Raasch into a good leg save. They would find an equaliser on 72 minutes as Hans Bruckner headed in to quiet the home crowd. However, The Vikings had a response and Almanidis missed narrowly from one free-kick before tapping another to Portway who lashed into the net for the winning goal. Eaglesrjh was happy with his ‘first top flight win’ and explained that he was already trying to plot his way through the season with regards his squad. Big K’s side remains pointless after their opening two games and the coach shocked many by leaving his position with immediate effect.

ThunderCats got their first win of the season in defence of their crown as they thumped Manchester United 4-1. Nelson Queimado headed wide early on before Cristiano Ronaldo stunned the home crowd with a brilliant free-kick to give United a shock sixth minute lead. Leonardo Borja hit a free-kick too close to Kuszczak before the ‘keeper tipped a Placido Polo lob over. Kuszczak continued to excel as he denied Silvio Falcao a goal following a fine move. Micky Wyatt then hit the bar for United before Queimado finally equalised with a great header on 37 minutes. Borja quickly put the Cats in front with a free-kick of rare quality and they would take this advantage into half-time. Polo opened the second-half with a header too close to the ‘keeper while Falcao missed the target with a driving shot. Disaster struck for United when Ronaldo put too much on a back pass and beat Kuszczak to give the home side a 3-1 lead. Borja saw another free-kick saved before he then received his marching orders for a horrible elbow. United saw Darren Fletcher force Magro into a save from a powerful strike while Wyatt was also denied by the ‘keeper. Queimado completed the scoring with an excellent header on 90 minutes to give ThunderCats a thoroughly deserved 4-1 triumph. Meelas will be satisfied with his side’s start but knowing the competitive coach he won’t be happy until his side are top of the division once more. Pakya has seen United lose twice and will be hopeful they can adjust quickly to the higher demands of the top flight.

In the division's other game Hun Haters and AFC Stanley fought out an exciting 2-2 draw at Scotlands Shame. Garry Molseley opened with an excellent strike from distance while Ted Caird missed with the home side’s first effort of the day. Iain Emery did manage to level with a clever toe-poke on 21 minutes and Caird had another effort go wide as HH continued to press. Emery was on hand to put the home side in front on the half-hour by striking in the area and they withstood a Molseley header which hit the bar. Per-Elvis Granander headed straight at Boruc as Stanley went into the break a goal down. The visitors emerged with a purpose after the break and Granander forced Boruc into action once more. Craig Elliston did fire a warning shot at the other end but it missed the target and Stanley were back on the attack moments later as Dijedon Betimaj placed a shot straight at the ‘keeper. A free-kick on 63 minutes saw Matts Wallman go close and they eventually drew level as Kirk Armitage looped in a quality header 12 minutes later. Stanley went in search of the winner but Luke Riou chipped over and both sides had to settle for a point after an eventful game. Markham has seen his side go unbeaten during the opening two games and everything looks in place for another competitive campaign. Celticchris will be hopeful of building on this point but he will want his defence to tighten up when they face West Brom on Friday.

Great Start for Calvert

F.C. Greatness made it two wins out of two with an emphatic 4-0 home win over Bonkers. Faust Baronchelli was the first to test the ‘keeper on 21 minutes but Hawke was equal to it and dealt with it. Gino Calacone hit a post with a dangerous back pass before Alvaro Recoba headed Greatness into a 34th minute lead. This was quickly doubled as Martinus Benfari also headed in and Greatness were dominant as they went into the half-time break. The second-half opened with Agostino Filippinetti lobbing over Hawke to make it 3-0. Bonkers finally created a chance on 68 minutes but Elton Hills chipped over and it was then 4-0 as Benfari added his second of the game from distance. Stefan Beelenkamp had a free-kick saved and Benfari was sent-off for two bookable offences but neither incident threatened to dampen the Greatness mood. Darrencalvert was in jubilant mood as he exclaimed, ‘top of the league’ with a big smile on his face. Bonkers News reported that GarethLloyd ‘is not comfortable at the moment’ and this will remain the case while his side try to adapt to life a division higher.

Pahang United made it six points out of six with an impressive 2-1 home win over Villarreal. Errol Beddoe actually shocked the home side with a bicycle kick on 7 minutes which gave Villarreal the lead and Pahang’s problems might have worsened had Jonathan Boulding made more of a headed opportunity. Rano Pantow did threaten for the hosts but his header narrowly missed while Romeo Hogg lobbed over. Villarreal threatened again before the break as Ger Wattamaleo headed over but they would still take their advantage into the second-half. Pahang would improve after the break and Pantow’s side-footed effort needed saving by Abrey. Ilppo Visavuori had a header saved by Hussain as the visitors looked for a key second goal but it was not to be. They would pay for this as Hogg hit home the equaliser from distance and then nearly saw Wattamaleo gift them the advantage with a dangerous back header. Pahang weren’t to be denied, though, as Tajo Cuevas placed the ball beyond Abrey for what turned out to be the winning goal. While MrT has explained that he is very busy at the moment he is managing his side expertly and has them in early contention. Cathal will be looking for his side to record their first points sooner rather than later as they look to kick-start their season.

Hicktown Hillbillies had to be resolute to record their second victory of the season as they triumphed 1-0 at Real Madrid FC. Madrid had the opening chance of the game as Samvel Mortanian hit a free-kick tamely at Boston in goal. Kevin Gabriele did likewise with a shot on goal while Billy Bob shot over at the other end in a quiet first-half. Madrid also had the first attempt of the second-half but Gabriele lobbed well over. They had a further chance through Mortanian but he horribly mishit his shot and Billy Bob made matters worse for the hosts as he headed in from a corner. Pasi Lintu wasted a headed chance as Madrid tried to respond and he was then denied by Boston as the Hillbillies showed great determination to secure the three points. Gary_C admitted that his side had ‘rode (their) luck’ and said that the ‘performance will need to improve’ against Pahang. FredRizzo will be disappointed that his side couldn’t find a cutting edge to their performance but will also realise results will come if they carry on creating chances in this manner.

Yorkshire Amateurs recorded their first win of the season as the defeated PSV Eindhoven 3-2 at Phillips Stadion. PSV started the better but Turrini coped well with Rene Maslovsky’s powerful shot. The Amateurs responded in fine fashion as Antony Wallwork lobbed in the opener on 19 minutes while Andrew Potts nearly made it 2-0 as his chip hit the bar. It would be 2-0 on the half-hour, though, as Glyn Arnold completed a smart breakaway. Warren Hibbitt instantly hit back for the hosts with a fine finish in the area and it remained 2-1 at the break. The visitors started the second-half well but Gerard McMahon’s shot lacked the power while Wallwork had a shot saved by Reina. Both sides had free-kick opportunities with Potts having a shot saved for the away side before Jose Fonte skimmed one over the bar for PSV. Frans Haggbring did level the game with a fine header on 79 minutes but the Amateurs found the perfect response as Arnold did likewise at the other end on 89 minutes to win the game. Danlufc13 will be pleased his side have got their first win on the board following a tough campaign last time out while Kadri will be hopeful his side can pick up their first points soon after this late defeat.

Kensington Boys Club picked up their first points of the season with a 2-0 home triumph over AJ Rovers. A free-kick by Aubrey de Vere hit the angle as the hosts started with a purpose while Mercourios Simos shot over at the other end. Charles Tilly also fired high before heading at the ‘keeper as the chances kept coming. Tilly did get his goal on 37 minutes as he headed in a corner before Sonny Vickerman hit a post and Byron Simon hit a tame free-kick as Rovers searched for an equaliser before the break. The second-half started with Tilly hitting the angle with a toe-poke before de Vere smashed a volley against the bar. Seymore MacRanald did have a scary moment in front of his own goal and Simon hit two free-kicks close as Rovers maintained a threat. However, the second goal would go to the hosts as Maurice Jacobs drilled in a low shot and it might have been three but Gilbert de Clare couldn’t quite make good with a diving header. Patrikpatrik will have been over the moon with a strong home performance but will be keen to take it on their travels as they go to Yorkshire on Friday. Rothion will be hopeful this was just a blip as they look for a better performance on home soil against Villarreal.

White Hawk maintained their unbeaten start with a 1-0 away triumph at AC Milan. A free-kick by Adan Donahue was saved by Levein before Charly Chan Jet Soe headed over as Hawk enjoyed the only two openings of the first-half. The second 45 minutes began with a chance for Quigley Addison but his free-kick was straight at Dankoi while a lobbed header by Donahue hit wood at the other end. Donahue would make the breakthrough, though, as he volleyed in brilliantly from distance. Matts Perman tried to add a second but his half-volley was saved while Jerry Raafenberg headed poorly when well-placed. Milan tried to respond but Andrea Pirlo’s diving header went high over the bar and their opportunity in the game had passed. Hooraymee keeps progressing his side through the divisions masterfully and if the start to the campaign is anything to go by this one may be no different. Xmensch will be keen for his side to bounce back after a disappointing display but will know he has a lot of work to do following their mismanagement under previous bosses.

Gunners Fire Early Warning

Arsenal are the only side with a 100% start in Division Two as they won 2-0 away to Belly Tubbies. They enjoyed the perfect start as William Gallas headed in their opener from their first chance on 20 minutes. Eduardo da Silva would then waste a chance before demanding a fine save from Michael Fitzsimmons. The forward would get his name on the sheet before half-time, though, as he lobbed over the ‘keeper on 39 minutes. The second-half saw Arsenal maintain their dominance but they couldn’t add a third goal. Chances for Andrey Arshavin, Thomas Vermaelen and Theo Walcott all failed to trouble Fitzsimmons but it would be Arsenal who still emerged victorious. Arsenal News called it ‘an impressive win’ and looked ahead at a ‘thrilling match’ against Juventus next. Fitzy was only half-joking when he said he needed to ‘sign a beach ball’ following two games with no goals. However, the season is young and with the manager looking to enter the transfer market things could pick up very soon.

Carthage maintained their unbeaten start to the season but had to settle for a point in a 1-1 away draw at Reggae Reggae Sauce. The home side had the better of the opening 45 minutes and Alfredo D’Addadzio headed them in front on 39 minutes to give them a massive boost. Todd Osborn had the chance to double the lead but Calum Cumbo was equal to it and gathered at the midfielder’s feet. The second-half saw Carthage immediately hit back as Marcus Spillane rounded off a fine breakaway with a cool finish. Leroy Nugent immediately tried to put RRS back in front but his powerful shot from distance missed the goal narrowly. Carthage would then finish the stronger but Ad Herbal headed off target while Mullen saved well from Spillane. Spillane would have one further chance but his curled shot struck the bar and both sides had to make do with a point each. With Blakey0500 wanting ‘back-to-back league titles’ this will be seen as two points dropped but the signs are that they will cope with the higher level of football this season. Meanwhile, Xpertelevener will be pleased to have a point on the board and will be looking for a better campaign this time round.

These Charming Men picked up their first win of the season with a strong 2-0 away success at Juventus. Maurio Aiardi headed an early chance over the bar for the home side and they also saw Alberto Morante fire a shot wide. They would pay the price for these misses as Loran Rajabi lobbed in the opener for TCM on 19 minutes. Juventus were still presenting a threat and Orlan Canito could count himself very unfortunate as his header crashed off the bar on 37 minutes. TCM would also have another chance before the break but Rajabi’s volley was saved by Fuentes and a one-goal lead would be the advantage they took into the sheds at half-time. The second-half saw TCM put in a very controlled display to nullify Juventus while continue to create chances themselves. Rajabi thought he had made it 2-0 but was disappointed by a dubious offside but he wouldn’t be denied as he headed in to double the advantage on 77 minutes. The striker would be denied a hat-trick by an excellent save from the ‘keeper while Shaun McFadden also saw a header saved as Fuentes kept Juve close. Ultimately, though, it was a deserved three points for TCM and they look well-set for a strong season. RDCM said that he was ‘happy with 4 points out of 6 so far’ with promotion the aim this term. Juventus will look to put this result to one side as they prepare for a tough trip to Arsenal on Friday.

Futsal FC and The Lone Wanderers remained unbeaten after an exciting 2-2 draw at Futsal Arena. Futsal began quickly but Luciano Salvatori’s shot was easily saved by Peyton and the visitors responded with a Frans Fleischer lob which struck the bar. The Wanderers then took a ninth minute lead as William MacAvish volleyed in and although Futsal tried to hit back Rick Tuttle couldn’t make his chance count. Tuttle would level matters on 24 minutes, though, as he netted from distance as the game continued to excite. Niall Hedges would fail to put the visitors in front before half-time as his header lacked the necessary pace and accuracy. The second-half remained tight although Futsal would assume the ascendency as Rowley Forrester netted from the spot. The final ten minutes would see plenty of action as MacAvish missed a chance for the Wanderers before Tuttle was denied by Peyton as he looked to win the game for Futsal. This miss would prove costly as Albert Scully scuffed an 82nd minute shot into the goal to rescue a point for HH’s side. HH will be pleased with the fighting spirit of his side and with four points from their opening fixtures things look good for another successful season. Jake will be disappointed with his side’s defensive display after calling on them to be ‘solid’ but will still be encouraged by a strong opening to their campaign.

Splott Rovers continued their good start with a 2-1 home victory over Los Samgeles Kings. Splott started well as Frank Punisher shot home from distance on five minutes to give them the advantage. The Kings responded in fine fashion, though, as Anze Kopitar showed a coolness in the area to equalise before Michal Handzus demanded a good stop from Roschach. The second 45 minutes was every bit as tight with the Kings seeing a Handzus effort stopped by the ‘keeper. Rovers would capitalise on this as Paul-Phillip Ravage chipped over the advancing Ersberg to give them a 64th minute lead. Splott might even have added a third but Eddie Venom hit the angle of post and bar with his header and they ran out 2-1 victors. Carbonmonoxide praised his side’s ‘character’ after an unbeaten start to the season and warned ‘there is better to come.’ Stripy8 will be eager for his side to post a win soon after this unfortunate defeat but there appear plenty of positives for the manager to work with.

Kroklund Kings enjoyed their evening’s work with a 6-0 home win over the youthful St Omer. They started like a house on fire as Gabriel Galtier rounded Rain to open the scoring on two minutes. Roberto da Luz hit the post with a powerful shot at the other end but it would be Galtier who would net again with a fine lob on eight minutes. Bosse Bong had a free-kick saved by Rain before making his second chance count on 15 minutes to make it 3-0. Arne Seiffert hit the post after beating Kangashaka as Omer continued to suffer misfortune and Curt Elliott rubbed salt into the wounds by making it 4-0 with a powerful header. Omer would see Joe Radley shoot wide before the break as they remained four behind at the interval. The second-half began with the home side on the attack but Galtier shot over. Bong would be denied from another set-piece as Rain made a fine stop while Radley missed the target for Omer in a rare attack. Cony Tottee would also be denied as Omer kept plugging away but an Aatu Vuokki shot added a fifth on 87 minutes. There was still time for Galtier to place home his hat-trick goal to complete a 6-0 home win for Kroklund. Bossbong will have been pleased with the performance and after being left out of the fancied teams for promotion he may feel his side have a point to prove. Omer News reported that they have now lost ‘eighteen on the trot’ but manager Cony Tottee is unconcerned as he has found comfort elsewhere as his side struggles on.
