Boys in Regal Form Against Kings

Bully Boys strengthened their position at the top of Division Two with a 3-1 home victory over The Kings. With the Boys having enjoyed a comfortable last week or so they knew they had to be more alert against a better prepared side this time out. Tero Perotie would enjoy a piece of fortune on 13 minutes to put them ahead as he mishit a shot beyond Fitzsimmons and into the corner. This would be the only chance of a quiet first-half but they game would open up after the break. Valio Kapiala would have the Boys 2-0 ahead on 47 minutes with a fine chip before he also went close from a free-kick moments later. The Kings would emerge as an attacking force on 62 minutes but Jairo Neftali’s header struck a post. Calum Jeeves would then head poorly off-target while Archie Rigg’s diving header was turned round by Kangashaka. Trudell Conway made matters worse by heading home for the hosts to put them 3-0 ahead and Curt Elliott might have added another but put his header off-target. Otis Dove would give The Kings a boost with a fine strike from distance but when Klyde Mister mishit a shot wide on 88 minutes the game was up for the visitors. Cath continues to see his side sit atop the division and will be confident of staying there for some time. Hitman will be keen for his side to forget this match as they now face a relegation six-pointer at Juventus on Tuesday.

Gooners would enjoy a return to form with a 3-0 home victory over These Charming Men. With TCM chasing top spot and Gooners seemingly more interested in development this match might have been expected to go the way of the visitors. They would enjoy the first chance but Jon Hardy enjoyed nothing but bad luck as his lob struck the bar. Gooners’ response was a powerful low shot by Thierry Henry which went well-wide but they would hit the front on 38 minutes as Dennis Bergkamp curled a free-kick home. More chances follow after the break and Henry had a power header saved by Avellino early on. Henry thought he had made it 2-0 on 52 minutes with a stinging shot but it was ruled out and the game stayed in the balance. TCM would see Stuart Cooksey hit the angle with a fine lob and to rub salt into the wounds Kyle Lang headed home to make it 2-0 for the hosts a minute later. Mauricio Capdevila would see a shot go wide as TCM tried valiantly to get back into it but it wasn’t to be and Henry made sure by shooting home from distance to make it 3-0 in injury-time. FMR explained that ‘the players (he) needed to had high form’ while RDCM admitted they won ‘the midfield battle’ and looked to move on in the coming weeks.

Dream Team continue to threaten the top three as they edged PSV Eindhoven 2-1 at Philips Stadion. With a youthful home side in opposition, DT will have expected nothing less than three points to continue their recent resurgence but it would prove mightily close. Rene Maslovsky put the first chance over the bar as he couldn’t keep his header down while Iwan Balkaran had a header of his own saved by Delirious. With DT unable to force any chances in the first-half the sides would go in deadlocked. They would begin the second 45 minutes in better fashion, though, as Dudley Dream put them ahead on 56 minutes from some way out. Bernardo Frois would see a header saved as they began to look good but PSV would keep them honest as Drasko Mrdjic forced Delirious into a save from a header. The home side would level on 83 minutes although Ezequiel Avila’s goal was somewhat fortunate as his mishit shot deceived the ‘keeper. With confidence at a high Maslovsky came close to putting them in front but saw his header saved while Dream was also denied after hitting a decent free-kick on target. DT would get their winner deep into injury-time to break home hearts as Kris Krafty chipped home in the area to silence the crowd. @peace will be more than happy with his side’s recent form but will urge them to maintain it as they travel to face the Special Ones MKII on Tuesday. Kadri believed his side ‘played well enough to take a point’ but will be boosted by the performance nevertheless.

Crimea River stayed in fourth after a 1-1 draw with wortley afc. With wortley struggling, the home fans were hopeful of three points even though they had some young heads in key positions. Mikael Silvestre would boost Crimea by curling in from distance on 21 minutes and Fabianski protected the lead by holding well from a Rai Kike header. However, wortley would level on 26 minutes as Jasper Marshfield rounded off a breakaway in excellent fashion to leave the ‘keeper beaten. Andrey Arshavin would try to restore the home side’s lead but his free-kick went well-over before he had a volley strike a post. Wortley would see Marshfield lob a header wildly over before the break and the sides would go in level. The second-half would prove relatively quiet with only the one chance. It would fall to Crimea but Alan Smith would balloon his penalty over the bar to cost his side the chance of victory. Crimea News explained that the side ‘had been cruelly denied a deserved victory.’ Meanwhile, Thegtreatlordbags will be boosted by this point but will recognise it is the Ws they need as the season approaches the business end.

Special Ones MKII got a welcome three points as they defeated Juventus 2-1 at The Reccy. Following the appointment of Ajtrader100 the home fans were hopeful of something better than they had seen in recent weeks and they wouldn’t be disappointed. Rick Tuttle would power in a shot on eight minutes to but had it chalked off although it served as inspiration to the fans and players alike. A free-kick on 10 minutes saw Tuttle get his goal with a super half-volley while Jacobo Chacros was denied by Roberts at the other end. Rowley Forrester would hit a free-kick wide before doing much better with his next effort which he curled into the top corner. Ricky Routhledge would see a steered shot go just wide before Tonetto had to save from an Alf Ackroyd header as the Ones threatened to run riot. Routhledge would see a lob saved by Tonetto before the break but the side went in to a standing ovation. The second-half began with a Forrester free-kick which went wide before Chacros pulled a goal back for Juve with a thumping set-piece of his own. However, the home side would remain composed and Samson Heskey headed just over before Chacros saw red for brutal play. Forrester would waste a couple of free-kick chances but it wouldn’t matter as AJ got off to the perfect start. AJ was already ‘looking forward’ to his side’s next game after this win to show the league just why he is called the ‘Special One.’ SuperJuve has seen The Special Ones leapfrog them and a home match against The Kings takes on greater importance on Tuesday.

Abu Dhabi United would pick up another three home points as they defeated Bayern Munchen 1-0 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium. Following an impressive performance last time out, Abu Dhabi were in positive mood ahead of this match. Ritchie Morgan hit an early shot wide before Jack Wilshere looped a header over as United started well. Potsdam Erplatz had a header saved by Syvaluoma before the ‘keeper denied him once more from a diving header. The sides would end up going in deadlocked and the second-half would be a more even contest. Jonathan Boulding would brush a post with a fine header before Munchen had their first chance as Billy Ray Bongle missed by inches with a header. Bongle would go close with a side-footed effort but it would be the home side who would produce a dramatic ending. Wilshere would rise well in the area to put a precise header past the ‘keeper to the delight of the home fans. Tal will be happy with his team’s recent improvement in results and will hope for this to continue over the coming weeks. Dimentis’ side will see this as a setback to their promotion ambitions and they will need to produce better against TCM on Tuesday.
