Arsenal 3 - 0 West Brom Strollers

Arsenal picked up an impressive home win over a strong WBS side Brown is more then happy with his home form but their away form is of some concern. Things are not made easier by an away trip to league leaders and still undefeated Real Madrid FC.

Brown will have to think hard about how to approach this game as one mistake could lead to a hammering. With some older more skilled players shown the door to make way for young stars of the future Brown is left wondering if his team are strong enough for their next match.

Arsenal maintain their thought process of staying in this division and build for a stronger future.

Kensington lose again

Kensington lose once more and this time at home. Patrikpatrik looked quite distraught after the match as he had this to say, barely

“Well, the 3-4-3 didn’t work, obviously. Maurice is still not fit after the pre-season form drops and now Harry Whitlow is off with an injury…Samson got sent off . We’re a losing team. We’ve scored seven goals and conceded seven and now all my players are in limbo.

We’re the middle-weakest team with the middle-weakest form and we are the seventh poorest club in the league. I’ve driven the club into the depths of the league, ruin and despair. So now it’s up to the players to cheer me up on Tuesday cos I’m all worn out.”

Gooners vs Bully Boys

These two sides hold 1st and 2nd in the table and everybody loves a 1st vs 2nd encounter. This is the first ever competitive match between FMRealism and Cathalio11 and is sure to be an interesting one.

Both sides have gotten off to a relatively good start this season, Gooners have won 5, drawn 1 and lost 1 while Bully Boys have won 6 and lost 1. A key stat going into today's game is that Bully Boys are 4/4 on the road this season.

"Gooners go into this game with poor form but I personally think that the game will have the same ending regardless. As I said before, it will be hard to get a grip on the tactics he will use and he certainly won't know how I will line-out. I think that we will both prepare against a false set of tactics and whoever gets the luckiest will win. The only way somebody can claim themselves as a tactical genious is if they are spot on. Our 3 teenage defenders are on great form and can match anyone on the pitch and I hope that one of them can get a game but we will see shortly before the game.

We are setting out to win the game and a draw wouldn't be a bad result. It's their match to lose seeing as they are home. I am under pressure and would love to get one over FMR but that isn't the point at the moment. I hope it will be an interesting game with a lot of chances. I'm backing Kangashaka to put in the performance of his life and hope that Sjunne Wenna is on form for the game. This is potentially our toughest game of the season and we are setting out to win, no matter how against the odds it may be."

White Hawk Downed

Stanley swept aside White Hawk on Friday by 3 goals to nill , Stanley were in top form as they created 8 chances whilst White Hawk did not create a single chance in the game.
Stanley opened the scoring with there first attack of the game with Cal McMac heading home a Kirk Armitage cross.
Disaster struck for Stanley when new 8million econ rated midfielder Luis Carlos Almeida was hacked down and had to be stretchered off just 14 minutes into his debut. Almeida will be out for some time as manager Markham33 was shaking his head in dis-belief and could not believe his luck. Creator turned goal scorer on 27 minutes as Kirk Armitage fire an unstoppable shot from just inside the penalty area into the top corner, in between this a Matts Wallman pile driver hitting the post Stanley were in control and the only surprise was there was only 1 more goal and this not until the 85th minute from a Tolkein penalty,

Washed Away

Going into the match against Crimea River, we were not really expeacting much, the average form they carried into the game was very impressive, so we took the approach of sitting back and duely got punished.
Kadri has admitted defending hasn't been our strong point this year and we may change focus in up coming games. Our next game is against These Charming Men, we wont let their smooth playing and talking affect us and are very determined to get a shock draw.

We All Live in a Yellow Submarine

As we live a life of ease,
Every one of us, has all we need,
Sky of blue, and sea of green,
In our yellow submarine!

Ringo may have been singing about blue skies and a life of ease, but it has been anything but easy for the 'other' yellow submarine, Santos FC. With a mere 3 points picked up from the first 5 games, Santos were sinking below sea level, in the murky relegation zone. However, the team has been able to steer the ship around and appear to be slowly climbing the depths of the treacherous RM Invitational standings.
Wins against The Vikings and Kirkbride Strollers were especially inspiring, as these teams were always a tough task for Santos, who had never won. Santos were able to grind it out against Vikings in a 1-0 game, while the last game was a brilliant display of counter-attacking football, a 4-1 smashing of Kirkbride at the Estádio do Deus.

With a faltering offence and sputtering midfield, manager Sean7 relied on his defence to pull out the victories, and the performances were captivating. A mere three chances in two games from the opposition would bother goalkeeper Alvar Rodenas. In particular, defender Felix Sandström has provided stability to the previously sputtering Santos back four. The stout defence was able to soak up pressure, and spark blistering counter attacks from their own end, effectively finishing off the game.

'It was tough, my first season', said Sandström. 'This league is much faster, tougher and physical than previous leagues I had played in. I had forwards like Totaal's Pierre van Diemen and Viking's Vassilis Papakostas, two of the best forwards constantly beating me in their runs.
My communication was also poor with (former player) Ray Goddard, allowing the opposition to batter us.
Now I feel comfortable in my role, and I'm more vocal to let my team mates know of their man marking.'

It does appear Sandström is providing match-turning performances. Four X11 selections with one captain selection have proved his worth as a game changer. Not bad for a thirty five year old, eh?

'I've still got some games left in me,' laughed the Santos defender. 'I'm not as quick and tough as I used to be. I'll leave that business for Benecio Correa and Maicon. I'm just hoping I can finish off my career like Paolo Maldini.'

Although two wins is a good sign, it will be a while before Santos are challenging for top honours. Submerged in 8th spot entering the halfway point, Santos will need a string of good performances to propel them up. Here's hoping that, like Ringo Starr, the Yellow Submarine see a life of ease in the near future.

Gooners Gossip

Interview with FMR

Q: How do you think the season has gone so far?
A: We are well placed and had a much better start than anticipated, usually we are slow starters and I was extremly pleased with the pace we set off at! The away win at Bayern is probably the one i was most happy with as i feel many of the promotion chasing pack my fail to emulate this. On the other hand the loss at Kings has undone everything we did well up to that point, if im honest i thought there might be a bad result from somewhere... i feel that it is where it happened and the manner in which it came that i have a problem with. The players obviously became complacent and i needed to remind them that neither myself or the fans are impressed by sitting on the top of division 2 and we expect alot more than that if we find ourselves in the same poisition again. The parties will begin when were plying our trade in the top flight and not before.

Q: Do you feel you recovered well from that game?
A: The next fixture at Futsal was obviously not the best result, we set out to take no risks and i feel the lads played very well. We created many chances and looked extremly comfortable throughout but as everyone knows if you dont take your chances in this game it will come back to haunt you. Seaman has also been recovering from a small knock picked up in pre-season and i think a mixture of that and the new faces we have in the team has played its part in defensive errors in every game so far bar Juventus.

Q: In a recent statement you talked about raising the level of your game versus Juventus, do you feel you did that successfully?
A: With a big game just around the corner, yes i did want to see something that would help us gain the momentum needed for such a high profile fixture! In short the answer is. No. The game was far from exciting and Juventus threw it away, we did score three but none were in open play and in fairness we didnt play well. The result certainly didnt give us the boost in morale we needed, it instead seems to have had the opposite effect on the players. The only positive i can take from that games is the first clean sheet and the fact Seaman is back at his best, which is something every fan will be very happy to see.

Q: There are rumours that some players are not happy at Gooners, can you confirm or deny any of these rumours?
A: Im not going to lie, yes Henry has been a cause for concern recently. He did not make the squad for the Kings game and refused to turn up and recieved a substantial fine. He was then picked for the Futsal game but obviously the whole thing had affected him and he looked all out of sorts. We feel it is best to rest him against Bullies and see what kind of form he has for the Crimea game. It is not only Henry Campbell also threw his dummy out after missing the Futsal game! and he will also be fined and will not play against Bullies. We have a very large squad here and the players must accept my decisions and they cannot be swayed by tantrums. The situation does seem to have effected the whole dressing room at this crtical stage of our season its is totally unacceptable and both players need to get their focus back asap,

Q: Which players have impressed you the most so far?
A: There are so many i think first and foremost is Adams soon as he walked through the door he became a first team player and has performed consistently in every game. He settled in very quickly and I have already informed him i wont allow him to retire next season. I think the next on my list has to be Captain invincible Dennis Bergkamp, he has continued where he left off last season and this season has already certainly played some of the best games of his career! I have also been very impressed by Keown and feel he still has much more to come. Lang is also looking more of the all rounder this season and i think heis stats may make interesting reading come the end of the season. Last by no means least is Cesc his enthusiasm is very refreshing and he has played some fantastic games this season. In the short time he has been at the club i would say i have found no faults in either his play or attitude and he seems a complete proffesional something very rare in a player so young.

Q: How do you see the Bullies game shaping up?
A: Firstly, i hope their manager will learn to be gracious in both victory and defeat, so far in the short space of time he has led the table his comments seem only to be aimed at other teams and when losing only at me. For ourselves of course we try to win but division three, two or one is only a path to where we want to be, I dont see it as an "achievement" beating teams that are still works in progress. As for the game itself with a much depleted and under strengthed squad it gives me many headaches. If we win it will be because the tactics were spot on and the desire was there, certainly not because we were the stronger team on the day. We certainly wont go away without a fight and win or lose its along way to the finish line

A River Ran Through Them

Round 6 and the heady heights of fourth place welcomed Crimea River after their Friday evening 4-0 demolition of PSV Eindhoven U-21 side.

It took the home side just under 10 minutes to open the scoring, a thunderous drive from captain marvel Marcel Desailly leaving visiting 'keeper Pepe Reina grasping at air as the ball rippled the net.

Form black hole Alan Smith wasted a fantastic opportunity to put the home side 2 up on 10 minutes before Andrey Arshavin rose to meet a Desailly cross and put the home side 2 up.

Recent signing Carl Spegel continued his impressive run in the first team with his second goal in two games following a defence splitting pass from Tomas Rosicky on 31 minutes and Vivién Tchameni wasted a golden chance on 39 minutes as River threatened to run riot in the opening 45 minutes.

River kicked off the second half at the same high-tempo as they had finished the first and soon found themselves 4-0 up as Alan Smith crashed a header home from an Arshavin cross.

Despite having been on the back foot for most of the match Eindhoven came to life as the match drew to a close and took the game to their tiring hosts with Claudio Collauto, Iwan Balkaran and Yang Sheng Nanmeng all finding River custodian Lukasz Fabianski equal to the task.

"Satisfied, quite satisfied," proclaimed a satisfied Crimea River head coach post match, "though to be honest we didn't learn too much today. But the lads had a job to do today, they could have slacked off and taken it easy but they put in a solid, professional performance. At least up unil the last ten minutes or so when they started show boating and presented Eindhoven a few openings."

"Tactically we were maybe a bit naive and quite lucky that Eindhoven lacked the quality to punish us, other sides will probably not let us off as lightly."

"After a performance like that you cannot really single out any individual performance but young Carl put in a shift and a half up front. Two goals and assist in his first three matches suggest that the lad is tip top form and has a bright future ahead. Hopefully he will stick with us for the long haul," concluded the head coach.

Where to go from here?

Yorkshires Amateurs failed to score for the fifth time in seven games as they went down to AFC Pop Punk. The Amateurs can count themselves unfortunate to have been playing the newly managed and rebranded Underdogz United in their new manager’s first game.
In truth the Amateurs were hopeless and their quest to avoid relegation is looking increasingly forlorn with each passing match.
They next face Totaalvoetbal who will be eager to return to winning ways after their defeat at in form Real Madrid. The task of taking anything from this game looks daunting but they need points soon to ensure they do not get cut adrift at the bottom of the table.

AC Milan admires new kit

Caught up in admiring the new kit of Padston Villa, AC Milan forgot how to strike at goal... this showed in the final stats in the game with AC Milan having more chances at goal but not capitilizing on any of them whereas Padston Villa only had four chances and scored three of them, one unfortunately been disallowed for a very close call offsides... me thinks AC paid that lines man but forgot to pay the other one.

Magnificent Seven

Town News

Morley continued their excellent form with a totally dominant win against an inexperienced St Omer side, Arnautu opened the scoring on 13 minutes at The Five Percent Stadium, Velez's corner found the unmarked Arnautu who made no mistake with his finish.

Velez and Ashe both went close with headers before Kwekeu managed to get his toe to von Sydows driven corner, it was enough to divert the ball past Zacharias Rain for Towns second. Velez almost added a third but his shot cannoned back off the post, Kwekeu was more fortunate though with Morleys next opportunity, his miss-hit shot trickled past Rain for his second and Morleys third.

The second half was much less eventful than the first but is was still all Morley, Pennock and Kwekeu missed opportunities and Munzberg was unusually wayward with with a free kick, by the 90th minute it looked like that Morley had settled for a three goal margin but a 92nd minute corner saw Ashe grab his 5th of the season with a header.

Morley face a trip to the Sauce Bottle Arena on Tuesday to face Reggae Reggae Sauce where they will hope to continue their impressive form.

slightly depressed

Viking Land News

The Vikings manager Eaglesrjh described himself as slightly depressed by the season so far.

We looked good pre season and really wanted to be challenging for the title but it is already looking like mid table for us again, we have dropped 4 points by missing penalties, 2 games we should have won became draws, and today to relinquish a 2 goal lead is shocking. The players know more is expected from them and we will look to get back to winning ways against White Hawk.
?

Comfortable Victory Makes Job Easy

We came away with a 3-0 home victory against Bayern Munich. This game marked the return of Vuokki and our playmaker Bosse Bong who was injured in the game against These Charming Man while Vuokki was injured since the first game of the season.

Perotie, Wenna and Behrands were our scorers today as we remain first.

In other games, Gooners needed a dirty Juventus side to hand them 2 frees and a penalty in which all were converted for a hard fought 3-0 victory to keep them second. These Charming Men survived a scare against Abu Dhabi to keep them in 3rd while Crimea River won to take them into 4th.

Next up are Gooners in what is sure to be an exciting game. With a full squad for both teams, it is sure to be a slobber-knocker of a fight.

"The side are confident but I am not. It will be tough and whoever wins will be lucky because none of us know what the other is going to do so it's the luckiest who will come out with the win."

Time To Fight Back!

F.C. Greatness three game losing streak as upset the fans and the directors of the club. Manager Darren Calvert is under the pressure with the local media and now the reports of a bust up with Benfari in training, shows the club are falling apart.

Benfari spoke out this morning saying: " We are under pressure and we must improve including me. I'm the oldest of our strikers and the all-time top scorer. I need to bang in the goals, specially with Balotelli's long term injury. With me & the manager thats a private matter which will keep in doors!''

Darren Calvert spoke out hours before Cardiff City: " We are under pressure, but its still early days. No doubt were looking forward to going for promotion and I believe we can still win the league. We have the talent to do so. Like Benfari said this morning, the situation is a in door matter. I expect a different performance tonight & I expect the three points!"

at home today

Today we will be seeking for three points against Padston Villa. Even though they have a new manager, their 3rd place on the table shows they are good team with high ambicious.
We hope our present problems with form and goakepper won't be bigger than our colective play!

Time to step up a gear

TCM currently sit in a comfortable 3rd place however boss RDCM is refusing to become complacent;

"I still expect to be fighting for the title this season, we've missed out 2 seasons in a row by a whisker in the promotion race, however this season we have a strong enough squad in my opinion to be fighting it out at the top. We've unexpectedly dropped a couple of points and the team must fight harder to ensure we avoid slipping out of the top 3"

This statement was made after a gungho away performance left TCM with a point in a 2-2 draw against Dream Team. Despite taking the lead twice through Loran Rajabi and Mauricio Capdevilla, RDCM's men did not show enough defensive discipline to hold onto the 3 points.

Not too down

Despite another defeat, this time 2 -1 away to 1863 Munich, Cony Tottee is not too disapointed at the moment.

Cony said 'We've come along way in the last few seasons so I'm pretty happy at the moment. Hopefully in a few more seasons we'll be challenging the big boys'.

Bye Izu, Hello Paddy

Underdogz United saw Izuka bid them farewell but they couldn’t make it a winning one as they slipped to a 2-0 home defeat by title challenging Real Madrid. With United having an uncertain start to the season and Madrid flying high the visitors were favourites for another success. Nemanja Vidizuka hit an early driving shot over for the hosts while Vladimir Aleksanian lobbed over at the other end as the sides traded chances. Ashod Marderosian would come close to giving Madrid a lead with a header which struck a post while Beeton kept them level with a good stop from a Leonardo Borja free-kick. Borja would have another set-piece effort before the break but it would lack accuracy and the sides would go in goalless. Madrid would put in a much stronger second-half performance as they looked for the points which would keep them pressing at the top. Samvel Mortanian would give them a priceless lead on 53 minutes with a fine header and the same player nearly made it two but Casillas made a good stop from another header. Kevin Gabriele would continue the aerial attack with a looping header which went over but Madrid would seal the game on 89 minutes as Federico Quintana planted a header beyond Casillas and into the net. There was better news for United fans after the game as Izuka was quickly replaced as manager by Solongsuperman. The club was renamed to AFC Pop Punk and Paddy said that key players were already ‘looking forward to helping me try and drag the club away from the relegation spots.’ Meanwhile, FredRizzo has his side flying high and with a home match to come on Friday they look like setting the pace as the season reaches the halfway stage.

Totaalvoetbal continue to go point for point with Madrid following a 2-1 win at last season’s champion West Brom Strollers. With the sides in contrasting form this term but with the Strollers enjoying home advantage this game was a tough one to call but Totaal put together an impressive performance. The visitors would produce a strong first-half and might have gone in front but Johan Juffing put a lob well-over. However, Shirsh Vajpayee would give them a half-time lead as a driving shot from inside the area proved too much for Valdezuka. The second-half started in similar fashion with William Ralph Dean brushing a post with a drive. However, West Brom would stir into action as Lee Hughes tried to round Leemans but the ‘keeper somehow got his hands to it. Ramiro Verona saw a volley saved for Totaal and they would be pegged back as Cyrille Regis powered in a driving shot on 74 minutes. Totaalvoetbal would respond well to this setback, though, and Pierre van Diemen produced a bit of quality to lob in a long range shot to put them back in front. Regis tried to pull West Brom back for a second time but placed a shot wide and although Vajpayee missed a late toe-poke the away side claimed the three points. Robin Meeblind was ‘delighted with three massive points away from home’ but admitted they ‘would need another monumental away performance on Friday.’ DD will know his West Brom side aren’t in good enough form at the moment and results will remain patchy until this gets rectified.

AFC Stanley are the third unbeaten side left in the top division and they enjoyed another good victory as they edged Yorkshires Amateurs 1-0 at The Thorp Arches. The home side went into the contest on the back of a morale-boosting win last time out and with Stanley looking impressive a quality match was on the cards. The Amateurs looked to make a lightning start but Amadeo Caviedes put his lob over the bar. Stanley’s first chance came on 33 minutes and Matts Wallman made no mistake with a textbook free-kick. Per-Elvis Granander thought he had made it two moments later but had it pulled back for a 50/50 offside call. Meanwhile, Derek Naples curled a shot into the stomach of Hessbo at the other end while Caviedes also put another lob over the bar. Stanley were nearly boosted by home defender Vince Brightwell before the interval but Bicanco made good ground to tip the header over the gap remained one at the break. Amateurs had the first chance of the second-half but Brightwell got too much on his lob before Salvador Borgues smashed a lob of his own into the bar. Luke Riou would mishit Stanley’s only effort but it wouldn’t matter as they held on for the victory. Markham33 will be in confident mood as his side continue to give nothing away defensively while also looking dangerous at the other end and with the top two meeting on Friday they will see this as the perfect opportunity to gain ground with a home match against White Hawk. Amateurs News reported that they ‘have now failed to find the net in four of their opening six’ games and this will need to be rectified as they look to pick up some important wins.

Kirkbride Strollers continue to make ominous progress up the table after a 2-1 home win over Arsenal DB. With DomBrown still experimenting with his Arsenal side Kirkbride were hoping their strong home form would be enough to clinch the points. Arsenal did begin positively with Francesc Fabregas firing an early free-kick wide before Faustino Aspirlla also went close with a strike. Kirkbride had their first sight of goal on 26 minutes but Malcolm Graham’s shot was held by Aitkin. They would find the net with their next effort, though, with Stephen Robinson showing a cool head to finish well in the area. Hill would ensure their lead remained intact moments later as he gathered at the feet of Asprilla before Andrew Harrison nearly made it two at the other end with a flick header which hit the angle. Mike Bell would waste a further chance for the hosts and Darren Gibson made them pay with a fine header which levelled just before the break. The second-half tightened up with the only chance coming very late in the half. It would fall to Harrison and the brilliant midfielder steered home a shot in the area to give Kirkbride a late, late win. Jazza has his side looking as tough as ever and they will need every ounce of this toughness as they travel to Santos on Friday. Dom Brown was said to be ‘disappointed’ but Arsenal News reported that the manager remains determined ‘to try everything out at least once before he can make a call on what the current crop of players can do.’

ThunderCats continued their topsy-turvy season with a 4-2 success at struggling White Hawk. With the home side having failed to pick up a win so far in the RMI, ThunderCats were hopeful of picking up an important three points to get their season back on course. The first-half would prove an exciting contest as both sides went for the throat. An early free-kick saw Adan Donahue bring the best out of Magro in the visiting goal before a header by Charly Chan Jet Soe rattled the woodwork as Hawk made the early running. ThunderCats would reply with a Placido Polo free-kick which was off-target before the same player put a powerful low shot wide. Polo was seeing a lot of chances come his way and he had already put a diving header off-target before he put another header well-wide. Silvio Falcao would show his partner how to finish on 23 minutes, though, as he poked home a clever shot in the area to put the Cats 1-0 ahead. Hawk’s response was good, though, with Soe producing a similar finish to level on 31 minutes. This parity soon became a lead with Donahue despatching a penalty on 37 minutes much to the delight of the home fans and they would remain in front at the break. However, the second-half would prove a different story as the visitors took control. Falcao would level on 71 minutes with a stupendous volley from distance and the same player completed a simply stunning hat-trick with another volley, this time from inside the area to put ThunderCats 3-2 up. Raimundo Lange had a powerful strike stopped by Dankoi but Fabricio Cidade would make it 4-2 with another thumping hit in injury-time. Baz will be hoping to bottle the second-half performance as in that form and finishing mood they will take some stopping. Hooraymee has found little cheer so far and a trip to Stanley provides little respite for the troubled side.

Santos would pick up their first win of the season as they edged The Vikings 1-0 at Estadio do Deus. With the sides having contrasting starts to the season The Vikings went into the game with the better record but it would be the home side who would dominate proceedings. A tight first-half saw just one chance with Robbie Mitchell putting a flick header off-target. However, the hosts would find a way through The Vikings rearguard on a more regular basis in the second 45 minutes. Mitchell would have another headed chance and this time would make no mistake as he powered the ball into the net for an opener on 50 minutes. They would then see a couple of late chances with The Vikings seemingly unable to make an impact on the contest. Asmar Golkas would waste a headed chance before Mitchell put a further header wide by a clear margin. Nevertheless the win will have come as a relief to Sean7 who will now look to put a familiar run together and climb the table. Eaglesrjh admitted ‘not much went right’ in the game and will want to quickly put it out of his players’ minds as they prepare for ThunderCats on Friday.

Rothion's Rovers Rise to Top

AJ Rovers hit the heights in Division One with a 5-1 success over Carthage FC. Both AJ and Carthage came into the contest in good heart following a decent start to the season but nothing could have foretold a scoring blitz by AJ. They began well with a powerful strike by Gordon Hogg finding the net to give them a lead on four minutes. Hamilcar Barca would head straight at Morell with the visitor’s first chance before Chad Atlee missed with a header at the other end. The second-half would be more explosive than the first and Taylor Grape had an early chance but got too much air under his shot. AJ would make it 2-0, though, as Mercourios Simos delivered an accurate lob over Aurelius on 50 minutes. Carthage would attempt to fight back and Hannibal Barca had a drive tipped round before Ad Herbal toe-poked straight at Morell. Ham Barca would fare no better with a headed chance on 66 minutes while Sonny Vickerman also wasted a free-kick at the other end. AJ would seal the game on 79 minutes, though, as Hogg headed home accurately to make it 3-0. Herbal would see a free-kick tipped round for Carthage and proceeded to watch Vickerman show him how it was done with a stunning strike to make it 4-0. This would soon become five as Simos steered in a clever shot and although Ham Barca quickly lobbed in a header to make it 5-1 Carthage were well-beaten. Simos had a late chance to make it six but couldn’t find a finish but it proved largely irrelevant. Rothion will be delighted with the five goals and seems to have ticked all the right boxes to enjoy a prolonged promotion challenge this season. Blakey was disgusted with the result saying ‘5-1 my arse’ and adding that ‘he was prepared and had much higher form.’ Sometimes it just isn’t your day.

Smurftastic Smurfs slipped from top spot but took a valuable point away from a 2-2 draw with Kensington. With Kensington having slipped into form in recent weeks and Smurfs boasting superstar Ernie Ormondroyd this was a much-anticipated match-up. The Smurfs saw Minoru Hara head them into a lead on six minutes and this set the tone for an exciting game. Ormondroyd had a quick chance to make it 2-0 from a free-kick but Sampson made a fine save. At the other end James Wilde produced a stunning free-kick to level matters but this didn’t last long as Jeremy Cumming defied a tight angle to put the Smurfs 2-1 up. Wilde tried to respond again for the hosts but put his chip over and they would go in behind. Aubrey de Vere would level at the start of the second-half, though, with a precise header and Wilde saw a free-kick held as they looked to hit the front. The free-kicks would keep coming and Wilde nearly netted with his next effort which struck a post before de Vere put a spectacular back heel against the angle. Gabriel Islas had a rare chance at the other end but Lorentzen made the save while Wilde wasted another free-kick. This would prove the last chance and the points were shared at the end of a pulsating match. Thesmurf described his season as ‘not bad’ so far and will now focus on getting back to winning ways against Bonkers on Friday. Patrik sees his side continue to progress and another home match offers them the chance to close the gap on the top three.

Splott Rovers are in third following an entertaining 3-2 home victory over F.C Greatness. With the sides going in opposite directions over the past few matches the home side were fancied for the win and they didn’t disappoint. Eddie Venom would try to give them a flying start but Calvert stopped his toe-poke while Faust Baronchelli had a free-kick parried by Roschach at the other end. Greatness would continue to press and Massimiliano Cardone was unfortunate not to put them in front with a lob which struck the bar. Splott would also look dangerous and Venom hit a strike just wide before Matt Daredevil’s diving header struck a post. Greatness would stun the hosts, though, as Baronchelli curled in a beautiful long range shot to put them in front on 36 minutes. Reed Fantastic quickly had the home side level with a thumping free-kick and the sides would remain tied at the break. The second-half saw Daredevil put Splott in front for the first time with a flick header on the hour-mark while Agostino Filippinetti had a goal disallowed at the other end for offside. Greatness would level, though, on 82 minutes as Baronchelli clinically struck in the area to please the travelling fans. However, Splott would have the final say deep into injury-time as Daredevil evaded the visiting defence to head home and deliver the home side three important points. Carbonmonoxide will be more than happy with his side’s progress and they will take this into their top-of-the-table clash with Rovers on Friday. Darren Calvert is thought to be ‘at a loss to explain recent results’ and they will expect nothing less than three points against Cardiff next.

Padston Villa enjoyed a good day with a 2-1 win over Pahang but were then thrown into turmoil amidst differing rumours over their manager. Some sources suggest the manager walked while there were also contrary reports indicating the boss was sacked. Whatever the truth, Padston would be manager-less following the game. The first chance of the game fell to the visitors but Ray Eastwood’s header hit a post. Padston would see their first chance go begging as Ray Goddard’s half-volley was held by Hussain. There would be more action in the second 45 minutes with Kilian Strongbow having an early free-kick saved. The home side responded with a brilliant header from Jermaine Jackson which struck the bar while Hussain had to be alert to hold from Richard Madeley’s powerful header. Pahang would the stun the home crowd with a goal from Strongbow; evading markers the forward shot home from inside the penalty area. The lead wouldn’t last long, though, as Jackson found his range from distance to level on 64 minutes before Handez protected their parity with a save from Strongbow’s header. Handez would also save from a Till Gloden half-volley and the home side took advantage with Luigi McKeever heading in the winner on 87 minutes. What followed would be dramatic as Paddy was said to be ‘shocked’ at his ‘sacking’ while long-time RMI servant Robin Meeblind said ‘the Padston chairman assured me Paddy walked after seeing a top-flight vacancy come up. Perhaps we’ll never know the complete truth.’ MrT, meanwhile, will be disappointed with his side’s defeat and a tough trip to Carthage now awaits them.

AC Milan moved out of the relegation zone as they edged Bumerang 2-1 at Darkdale. Going into the game Milan knew a win was important to keep them in touch with the other sides in the division but with Bumerang in decent form a tough game was in the offing. Quigley Addison had the first chance of the game and a super long range shot from the defender had Milan in front. Jonte Sandholm then put a lob over before Bumerang had their first chance; Shinosuke Isimaru forcing Hindle into a save from a powerful strike. The second-half would also be an intriguing contest with Sten Stille hitting the bar early on for the hosts with an excellent header. However, they would be stung moments later as Andrea Pirlo side-footed home following a corner to put Milan 2-0 ahead. Bumerang’s response would be swift with Rikard Lind drilling home a free-kick and they were nearly gifted a leveller but Lorenzon De Gasperi’s back header went over. Bernard Lormor tried to extend the visitor’s lead but he steered over before Sandholm headed straight at Stancu. However, these misses wouldn’t prove costly as they ran down time on an important win. Xmensch now has his side within four points of the top following an indifferent start to the campaign and they will hope to take advantage of a troubled Padston on Friday. Coolboy’s side are also just four points from top but having seen his side lose three of their last four he will be keen just to pick up a win as soon as possible.

Cardiff were the other winners on the day as they defeated Bonkers 3-0 at Fratton Park. With both sides struggling at the bottom of the table a tight contest was anticipated but the home side blew Bonkers away in an attacking display. Tommaso Miceli had an early shot saved by Hawke before the ‘keeper also punched away a lob header by Osorio Sao as the home side pressed. Chano Paya would then put a lob over the bar before Franklin Bodin had a half-volley caught by Hawke. Bonkers would briefly respond and Oswald Rickers’ lob needed tipping over by Peyton before Henrik Larsson’s well-placed shot was also saved by the ‘keeper. At the other end Sao would be unable to overcome a tight angle but he would do better with his next effort before the break which gave Cardiff a 1-0 half-time lead. Cardiff were soon back on the front foot after the interval and Arsim Kule had a curled effort strike the bar as they looked for a second goal. This would arrive on 59 minutes as Micheli chipped Hawke following an excellent breakaway move. Paya then delivered a stunning diving header to make it 3-0 on 74 minutes and put the game out of Bonkers’ reach. The visitors would see Edip Bayrak put a header straight at Peyton before Sao had a late driving shot saved by Hawke at the other end. Ultimately it would be the home side who would be enjoying their post-match drink more following an important three points. Uwfb will be hopeful his side can push on from this win and with the section so tight there is no reason why they cannot do so. GarethLloyd will continue to be perplexed by his side after an opening six games which has seen them fail to pick up a victory.

Bully Boys Four-ce Way to Top

Bully Boys FC took advantage of slip-ups elsewhere to hit the top of Division Two following a 4-2 success at PSV Eindhoven. With PSV needing the points for differing reasons to BB the end result would be a scintillating display of attacking football. Sjunne Wenna would get the Boys off to a brilliant start with an excellent diving header to put the visitors in front. However, the hosts would reply with a Rene Maslovsky penalty which he despatched with a minimum of fuss. The game continued at a frantic pace with Dominic Smythe having a steered shot saved by Weston before Sakari Reimari missed the target from a free-kick. Tero Perotie was the next to try his luck for Cath’s side but his header was also off-target while Wenna also flicked a header wide. Berti Behrends would have the Boys back in front on 27 minutes with a fine header and moments later Perotie had a header saved by the ‘keeper. Rory MacFinlay nearly stunned the visitors with a brilliant lob but Tolvanen tipped it over and the home side would remain behind at the break. Iwan Balkaran would drive a shot wide to start the second-half while Reimari had a shot go close at the other end. Arjen van Loenhout would waste a headed chance for the hosts but they remained in touch as Weston saved from a Perotie header. Bully Boys would then see Behrends lob over but they did take a grip on the game when Toini Vasama defied a tight angle to blast home and double their advantage. However, PSV’s response was swift and a powerful low shot by Iwan Balkaran had them back within one on 80 minutes. Bully Boys wouldn’t panic, though, and a lob header by Perotie made it 4-2 on 90 minutes to put the seal on an excellent win. Cath admitted he ‘got lucky with those tactics’ but declared himself ‘happy’ and added ‘results around the division went my way too.’ Kadri will be proud of his side’s display and the future appears bright with his squad of players.

Gooners conceded a late equaliser as they were held at Futsal in a 2-2 draw. After suffering a defeat last time out Gooners were looking to get back on track against free-scoring Futsal. Cesc Fabregas put the first shot of the game over the bar before Dennis Bergkamp did put Gooners in front with a fine header. Gooners continued to dominate the first-half and had further chances; Iain Wright putting a free-kick off-target before David Rocastle put his effort too close to Roberts. The second-half would see both sides look for goals in what proved a fabulous 45 minutes. Rowley Forrester hit a wild free-kick to begin with for the hosts while Fabregas’ steered shot was well-held by Roberts at the other end. Ricky Routhledge would put a driving shot too close to Seaman and Rocastle would head at Roberts as the chances continued to be shared. Futsal would level on 66 minutes courtesy of a driving shot by Graeme Haynes and Forrester had a free-kick chance but could only put it straight at Seaman. Gooners did respond and a Bergkamp header brought the best out of Roberts before Wright did put them back in front with a cracker from distance. Bergkamp might have sealed the win with a precise header but it drifted just wide and the home side would fight back. Routhledge put a powerful low shot just wide and Wright was unlucky at the other end with a shot which struck a post. Futsal would then strike with Forrester delivering a textbook free-kick to rescue a great point for Wildy’s side. They have seen their start to the season be a little inconsistent but they have shown they can compete with anyone and will look for three points against wortley on Friday. FMRealism wasn’t disappointed and said ‘every point away from home counts.’

These Charming Men were also involved in a 2-2 draw as they were held at Dream Team. With Dream Team struggling to live up to early season expectations These Charming Men will have travelled in good heart. Loran Rajabi boosted the visitors as well as he shot home clinically in the area on six minutes but they were soon pegged back as Adam Aspire headed in at the other end. Mil Moody had a shot stopped by Derksen as the home side looked to hit the front in an open game. Jordi Rodri would have a chance at the other end but he too would be denied by the ‘keeper as Delirious made a fine stop. The second-half saw the game continue apace with Mauricio Capdevila putting TCM back in front on 52 minutes as he shot home from inside the area. Tord Jakobson then put a header narrowly wide while Ronaldo Ready hit a free-kick straight at Derksen at the other end. Aspire would level for the home side with a good header on 66 minutes to put the game back in the melting pot. TCM looked for a winner with Rajabi demanding a good save from Delirious with a lobbed effort while Rodri’s driving shot was also stopped by the ‘keeper. Shaun McFadden would then see a header held by Delirious and Rajabi would complete a TCM onslaught by brushing a post with a powerful low shot. Dream Team then tried to pinch a win but Garry Gain’s diving header was kicked away by Derksen and a point apiece was the end result. RDCM rued his decision to ‘play offensive away’ but hailed a ‘respectable result.’ @peace will know this point was a good one but will also recognise the need for wins as his side look to make ground at the top of the table.

The Kings edged an exciting game at the western as they defeated wortley afc 3-2. Coming off an impressive win against Gooners, The Kings were hopeful of another three points but were made to work hard by an attacking home side. The Kings began strongly with Otis Dove rounding the ‘keeper to slot home on two minutes. Wortley’s response was a Paulinho Santos free-kick which went over before Dove had an effort blocked by Gareth at the other end. Rai Kike would hit a soft shot at Fitzsimmons before the ‘keeper made a better save by tipping over a Curt Pryor lob. Wortley began well after the break but Curt Pryor’s shot was saved by the ‘keeper. They would then see Walter Willock chip over the bar but they would get a fortuitous equaliser as Pryor mishit a shot past Fitzsimmons. Dove’s response would be to chip over at the other end and wortley then took the lead courtesy of a powerful strike by Kike. Jamie Sinclair headed wide at the other end but Juve would be boosted by a red to Orlando Bhoendie for a crude tackle from behind. The Kings would then win a penalty which was duly converted by Fitzsimmons and they then pinched the points as Kevin Sheedy placed home a beautiful finish deep into injury-time. Hitman will be ecstatic with the points and with a home game against Dream Team to come they will be hopeful of pushing further up the table. Thegtreatlordbags is seeing his wortley side struggle in a higher division and they need three points against Futsal next up.

FC Bayern Munchen continue to be upwardly mobile after a 3-1 home success over Juventus. Riding a three-game unbeaten run going into the game Bayern were hopeful of home advantage being a key factor against an inconsistent Juve side. Gunther Westerville nearly gave them a first minute lead but his lob hit the bar and went safe. Chuck Ewing would give them the lead, though, with a fine header on 15 minutes before Sam Jakestown volleyed them into a two-goal lead on 18 minutes. Juve’s first chance came on 37 but Kristoffer Lindfors couldn’t find the net with a powerful strike while Ewing hit a post at the other end after beating Tonetto. Tonetto would save a curled shot from Uncle Sam before the break but Juve went into the sheds with it all to do. They came out strongly after the break, though, and a fine strike in the area by Joaquin Messi quickly pulled a goal back. Jacobo Chacros then gave the home side a scare by thumping a free-kick against a post as Juve threatened to turn the game round. Jakestown would settle home nerves, though, with a clinical finish in the area on 64 minutes and a penalty should have made it four but Tonetto saved by Billy Bob. Ewing would then smash a header off a post but it proved irrelevant as the home side held on for the points. Dimentis will be looking towards the top three now but they face a test of their promotion credentials as they travel to Bully Boys on Friday. SuperJuve sees his side slump into the relegation zone and they too have a tough task on Friday as they take on Gooners.

Crimea River were 2-0 winners in the other game of the division as they left Abu Dhabi pointless. Both sides were looking to get back to winning ways and ultimately it would be the home side who would edge an attacking game. Carl Spegel lobbed the first chance of the game over before Jamie Hayes hit the bar with his effort at the other end. A penalty gave Abu Dhabi the chance to take the lead but Fabianski saved comfortably from Claudio Moura’s effort and the sides went in goalless. Crimea would begin the second-half the stronger of the two sides and Alan Smith headed them in front on 50 minutes. Hayes tried to respond but headed straight at Fabianski and Andrey Arshavin nearly made it two but Bonner made a smart save from his free-kick. Crimea would then miss a penalty of their own as Thomas Vermaelen smashed over while Arshavin hit a free-kick over. Samir Nasri would see a half-volley held by Bonner but Spegel would put them two ahead as he fired home in the area. Regillio Jordan saw red for the visitors to make their task harder and Jonathan Boulding had a free-kick saved. Abu Dhabi still pushed but Ilppo Visavuori’s precise header was brilliantly saved by Fabianski and the home side collected the points. Ith explained that ‘the game had everything’ and was happy ‘to be back on track.’ Talinmer bemoaned the referee who punished his side for every challenge and admitted a rethink might be in order with similar referees in the future.

Rose Blooms for Alsancak

Alsancak continued their bright start to the season with a tight 1-0 win at AFC Boo Boys. Finding themselves in the top three after the opening five matches Alsancak were looking to consolidate their place and they managed to do so courtesy of a late winner. The early stages proved quiet until Danny Rose curled a powerful shot on target only for Ersberg to make the save in the home goal. The second-half proved a livelier affair and Boo Boys saw Derek Armstrong waste an early chance by blasting off-target. Lee Cattermole would go very close to giving the visitor’s a lead on 52 minutes but his header cannoned back off the woodwork. Boo Boys response was a fine breakaway move but Michal Handzus lobbed the ball over the bar before Conrado Arrieta had a curled shot caught by Frost. The home side continued to press and came within a whisker of opening the scoring when Handzus put a chip against the angle with the ‘keeper beaten. However, this would prove their last chance as Alsancak re-established themselves in the game. Rose would see a header turned round by Ersberg before the same player placed a shot home on 88 minutes to give the visitors an important three points. Wienersnitzel will have to match the rising ambitions of the fans and he will be conscious of doing this without sacrificing his players’ development. Skoolyou has seen his side lose their last four games following a good start and will be eager for his side to end this sequence against Rolling Thunder on Friday.

Morley continue to look impregnable at the head of the table following another routine 3-0 win at Tottenham. Having won five from five it was feared before the game that the new Tottenham side were just too much in their infancy to trouble Morley and so it would prove. A Florian Arnautu header would go wide before Tomas Master hit the bar with a brilliant free-kick as the sides traded early chances. Zacharias Ashe would open the scoring on 33 minutes with a well-placed shot while only a good save from Gomes prevented Adolf Munzberg from making it two before the break. Morley would continue to attack in the second-half and a header by Helder Velez brought another fine save out of Gomes. Ashe would then see a header easily gathered by the ‘keeper while Tom Huddlestone also headed straight at Zubeldia at the other end. Ashe would get his second goal on 74 minutes, though, as he produced an exquisite chip which proved unstoppable. Arnautu nearly made it three but Gomes made a smart stop with his feet before Munzberg hit a free-kick against a post. The third goal would arrive on 88 minutes, though, as Arnautu flicked in a deserved goal. Morley still continued to press and Ashe thought he had netted his hat-trick goal but was pulled back for offside. Nevertheless they had taken the points in a comfortable victory which keeps them flying high and Leeg21 will surely be confident of promotion at the very least. Ocs will be ignoring the results as he looks to develop his side for success in future seasons.

EspAda are also putting together an impressive campaign and remain in second following a 3-0 win at FCR Cressex. With Morley continuing to press on at the top of the table EspAda knew another win was essential to their title challenge. Cressex would give as good as they got in a tight first-half but Emil Rojas put a free-kick wide while Ubaldo Andre also headed well-over. Valentino Boccaccini gave the home fans a fright by putting a back pass too close to his goal for comfort and Gregor Muller would nearly put EspAda in front with a driving shot but it would unfortunately strike a post. The second-half would see more chances and the away side took a lead on 48 minutes courtesy of a fine Diego Maradona header. Andre tried to reply at the other end but Kerrigan made the save before Maradona saw a driving shot held as they tried to make it 2-0. A free-kick for the hosts saw Rojas put a strike on target but Kerrigan gathered comfortably and Cressex’s task became harder with the sending off of Tomas Tiribocchi for simulation. Andreas Sommer would make it two with a thumping free-kick and the same player headed in a third to cap the win on 84 minutes. Maradona still had time to look for his second of the game but lobbed over before Herbert Stigsson hit a low shot straight at Martinzon. Crismorena will be in confident mood following another fine win and a home match against Tottenham will hold few fears. Villan_RAS will accept his side are still a little young at the moment and will hope they progress and learn from these defeats.

Rolling Thunder are just outside the promotion places following a 2-0 success at Reggae Reggae Sauce. Coming off the back of a good win last time out Thunder were in confident mood they could make further strides and eventually wore down the home side. Sauce would begin with an early chance but Terry Jenkins headed well off-target. The response from Thunder would be a Francois Rouland lob which was punched away by Mullen before the home side produced a neat free-kick which resulted in Christiano Torres blasting at Jorquera. Thunder would edge the latter stages of the half and Jovan Gagic headed at Mullen before Marcelo da Silva did give them the lead from the penalty spot. The second-half would belong to the visitors and they looked a much more confident side with the lead. Goncalo Cook hit a half-volley too close to Mullen while Ludo Cappellacci also hit a volley at the ‘keeper. However, Rouland would finish the game with a breakaway goal on 90 minutes to complete a 2-0 win. Vehusheia will welcome another home game on Friday and will be hopeful of reaching the top three on the back of another three points. Xpertelevener can at least console himself that his side aren’t in last at the moment but the fans won’t exactly be delighted with that stat.

1863 Munich were the other winners on the day but they were made to work hard by St Omer. Both sides had endured an up and down start to the campaign but it would be Munich’s extra experience that would count in this game over Omer’s superior form. Seth Eaves put an early shot wide for the hosts before Timmy Svenson stunned the home crowd on 37 minutes with a header which put Omer in front. It wouldn’t last for long, though, as a tremendous volley from distance by Fabrizio Gualtieri ensured that Munich would have a half-time lead. Alex McQuillan gave Munich an early boost in the second-half with a header which beat Hamshaw and it might have been three but Paolo Ballotta’s header went against the bar with the ‘keeper beaten. Cony Tottee did miss a good chance for Omer with a header which went wide while Eaves got a shot all-wrong at the other end. Gualtieri fired a late volley which needed saving but Munich had already done enough to secure the three points. Despite the win Anderson will understand that his side needs to improve their form if they are to challenge the stronger sides in the division. CT will be pleased with how his side is competing and if they can pick up a couple more wins and a good change report all will be rosy for the youthful club.

The other game of the day saw Anime Allstars and Crimson Tigers fight out a 0-0 draw. Both sides had begun the season with relative success despite their young squads and a tight battle was always on the cards. However, it would be the home side who would do all the pressing as the Tigers sat in for a point. Miharu Sena-Kanaka drilled a powerful shot at Clemens late in the first-half but the ‘keeper would be equal to it and the sides would go in goalless. The second-half saw more chances for Allstars but their finishing would prevent a winning goal. To-Love-Ru Lala fired a free-kick off-target before Johnny Douglas also missed the target with a header. Douglas would look to make amends on 71 minutes but saw a powerful shot strike a post as the Tigers held on. Joshy will be happy with the performance if not the finishing and will look for a more clinical side to his team against Cressex on Friday. Paul will still be happy with his squad’s form and said that with the ‘spirit building’ all looks ‘good for the future.

not bad

not bad, not bad was the response that the smurf gave when asked how he felt about the season so far. sitting in the promotion slots at the moment but many hard games to come and big decsions also to be made on when to play a number of the youths especially the young keeper. decison making never ends!

Gooners To Return To The Top?

After five rounds of holding the top position in RMI Division 3, the team finally relinquished their lead against Futsal and went on to give away first place in the dying moments in a comfortable game against The Kings! It was by no means a disaster and in both games they played well but have yet to find the cutting edge in this new look line up. Gooners are still the strong side they were last season and still manage to dominate the play for ninety minutes week in week out but just recently they seem unable to kill teams off when given numerous opportunities.

Then there is the defence which last season was almost unbreakable, whilst this season even when easily winning games they seem to always leak atleast one weak goal. Seaman was something of a legend last season and has now regained first team form and the manager will look to him to stop the opposition dead in their tracks. You must also consider the change of personnel, for instance the departure of Lauren who was a massive part of their success last season... on the other hand they brought in Adams who has been an amazing player for them since his arrival.

Even with their recent slip in form it's still hard to find any major faults in the team and it may just be a case that they havent played together long enough to find the understanding required. After all they still have led convincingly for a long period whislt racking up some above average score lines along the way and as they proved last season they are a team that can take everything the opposition can throw at them and still come back stronger than before. The fans are sure they are on the brink of seeing something special from their team and who would bet against this as with each passing game the team work becomes stronger and stronger and the new players find their feet.

With that said Gooners now enter a tough period of fixtures, facing Juventus whilst on low form and then moving on to current league leaders bully boys. Gooners will need a convincing victory against Juventus to carry them through into what may prove to be their toughest fixture so far. Then again if any team can come out the other side intact it is Gooners with their winning mentality and never say never attitude. The coach will need hardly any words of motivation after what can only be described as stupid irrational rants by the Bully Boys coach who obviously feels extremly threatened at the thought of facing a weaker and less skillful side.

Here what coach FMR had to say after recent events:

It has been an interesting period for us and i dont really see that many negatives after dropping from first to second, we were never going to hold first place for the entire season with so many similary skilled teams in one divsion. Being off the top spot may be a blessing in disguise as it takes the pressure off of us and gives us something once again to aim for, we will of course try to win the division but a top three finish is the main goal along with improving the young squad we have. I feel only an "idiot" would make predictions in a division such as this i expect the top spot to change quite frequently and for there to be many an upset along the way... not including injuries, cards and improvements from other teams. The winner will be the strongest team over the whole period and the team that can deal best with the many hurdles a season can throw at you, who that is remains to be seen.

As for Gooners as usual we are too busy concentrating on our own game to be intrested in what goes on else where, I have a tough fixture against Juventus next as the puchase of Anelka has upset the camp quite a bit and form is very much at an all time low. What I need to see from my players now is the charachter that proves we can bounce back from anything this season might throw at us. In the last round we were despreately unlucky in reality and I think the players already showed me what I need to see. Against Juventus we must give everything and get a result that raises our game to the next level, for sure we are on the verge of something special with this squad but we must maintain our high standards this season whilst bringing through the quality youngsters we have.

As for Anelka he is a very serious addition to the squad and we will endevour to get him to a level ASAP where we can get him first team football as a late developer the window of opportunity is much smaller. Although we feel he has a very bright future ahead of him here at Gooners and if he reaches his targets he is sure to fetch many econs on the transfer market and it is a win win situation for us, with that said the main reason behind his purchase was goals and when he is ready we feel he will be among the top scorers in the league. That is some way off though and with Wiltord and Henry we feel we have plenty of time to bring him through the ranks and mould him into quite a player!

3 out of 3

Having beaten Cardiff City comfortably 4-1 Splott Rovers made it 3 wins out 3 by edging out F.C. Geatness thanks to a 92 minute winner from Matt Daredevil, his second goal of the game. Splott are now starting to find their feet and with the recent siging of Gallas to bolster the defence a promotion push isn't impossible. The injuries and suspensions seemed to have stopped for now so lets hope our good fortune continues with a tough game coming up against leaders AJ Rovers, who look the team to beat having just smashed a good Carthage side 5-1

decent away draw

Paulc333 was fairly pleased with an away draw at Anime Allstars FC on Tuesday, we didnt create anything but we also limited the opponents and building good spirit like this will be good for the future, being able to defend well will help and in the future goals will come from these strikers.

Bruise A Naughty Boy

Crimea River bounced back from a disappointing 2-0 defeat to These Charming Men in round 5 with a 2-0 victory in a, literally, bruising round 6 encounter with Abu Dhabi United.

Talinmer's side set what would prove to be an early marker for the tone of the match as Claudio Moura and Regillio Jordan found themselves in referee Manuel Ficuz book within the opening 10 minutes. Quickly followed by Crimea midfielder Andrey Arshavin, United midfielder Jonathan Boulding and Crimea defender Rodrigo Rios.

With meaty tackles the order of the day both sides struggled to create much in the way of chances until referee Ficuz handed United a lifeline with a spot kick award on 40 minutes. Fortunately for the home support United forward could only muster a weak effort easily saved by 'River custodian Lukasz Fabianski.

United continued the second 45 as they finished the first 45 with Ilppo Visavouri the fourth United player in the referees book mere seconds before Alan Smith opened the scoring for the home side with a point blank header from an Arshavin cross.

A 59th minute injury to inspirational River skipper Marcel Desailly looked to dent Rivers chances of taking anything from the match. Even more so when, on 65 minutes, 5th choice penalty taker Thomas Vermaelen stepped forward to take a rather harshly awarded penalty, despite every single other penalty taker in the Crimea penalty taking order being on the pitch. And, of course, the defender hit his penalty into row Z to let United off the hook.

The home side did wrap up the three points on 76 minutes when Carl Spegel reacted fastest in a goal mouth scramble to prod the ball home for his first ever Crimea goal.

The home side then settled down to see out the remaining 14 minutes, though 16 form, 8 skill freekick taker Arshavin did manage to find time to miss somewhere in the region of a Grahams number of freekicks.

"Disappointed," remarked a visibly disappointed River head coach post match, "frankly we should have put United to the sword out there on Tuesday. And we would have too had Andy not decided to punt the ball into the stand at every freekick and Thommo rather unexpectedly step forward to take the penalty."

"Still, the lads kept their heads against a side only here not to play football but to engage in some sort of competition to cause the most serious injury they could. We were fortunate to only lose player to a side leaping into tackles like they were in some kind of cage fight."

Izuka spins in his xpert 11 grave

In a move that has shocked the world of football, former manager of hated rivals Padston Villa Paddy Mckeever has been appointed new boss of Underdogz United.

We caught up with Paddy at his unveiling at the Surprise Stadium:
"this has all come out of the blue really, after my shock sacking today at Padston I was happy to bide my time take loads of money off Flavio Badgertorie in court and then probably manage Nigeria at the world cup but then out of the blue the phone rang and it was the Underdogz new chairman Gary Coleman, he'd been watching sky sports news when the story of my sacking broke and he told me he'd always been a big fan he asked what it would take for me to come save his side from relegation, I told him that I wanted the club moved to England from Malaysia and for him to be honest with me about funds and recruitment. A few hours later the Surprise stadium had been airlifted to a field in the Midlands along with forty thousand Malaysian Underdogz fans so I couldn't turn him down then and the opportunity to manage in the top flight is one I'm looking forward to"

We asked Paddy how he thought his new players would react to his arrival given the back and forth in the press between former manager Izuka and Mckeever:
"That's all in the past, myself and Izuka had a love hate relationship, there was always some mutual respect there and Henning Bade has already come and apologised to me and told me he's looking forward to helping me try and drag the club away from the relegation spots"

Well there you have it, just when we thought we'd lost the inane ramblings of Mckeever from the RMI for good he pitches up at his biggest rivals!
Ironic? Definitely but we sensed that Mckeever is deadly serious about keeping the Underdogz in the top flight and proving himself as a manager.

Padston fans in uproar!

Despite manager Paddy Mckeever leading the club to 4th place in division one, whilst overseeing an overhaul of a terrible squad into a competetive one all within tight financial constraints, the clubs new owners Angry Badger PLC particularly new chairman Flavio Badgertorie have decided to sack the mercurial manager.

Fans are said to be in uproar at this decision as Mckeever has consistently blooded the young talent and performed miracles in the transfer market despite the board reneging on an agreement to resign Logan Macanish and cutting his budget at the last minute meaning the fact he's managed to get such highly skilled players to the club is a miracle.

We managed to catch up with Paddy at the training ground as he was loading his training gear of a blow up doll, some cones, a bag of footballs and a shetland pony as well as a box full of the canteens finest silverware:
"I'm shocked to be honest, me and Flavio had a bit of a falling out over the Macanish situation but they seemed happy with all the wins I was getting them, I know there were claims in the press I'd headbutted Luigi Mckeever but he's my cousin, that's how we say hello! anyway I'll be seeking compensation via tribunal and whilst I'm sad to leave Padston I'm looking forward to not having to get up early once a week to visit the training ground and not having to deal with that race fixing idiot Flavio"

A black cloud has desended over the Badgerdome today, with many fans laying flowers outside the ground as if a relative or a hero of theirs has died. Tough times ahead for Padston unless the new owners can be forced out.

and what of Paddy Mckeever? what's next for this outspoken but brilliant manager?
only time will tell.

Last Gasp Heartache

Arsenal were left feeling abit hard done by as they went down to a 90 min goal away to Kirkbride Strollers. Brown was disappointed to come away with nothing but understands that each game is massive in this division and the longer he keeps changing formation and tactics around the harder it will be to pick up points. Brown seems determined to try everything out at least once before he can make a call on what the crop of current players can do.

To matter worse Arsenal also lost start defender through long term injury, he will miss the next few games.

Blakey0500 Furious

Blakey0500 has slammed his side's latest performance, after a 5-1 drubbing away to AJ Rovers. Blakey0500 had outclassed the other manager tactically and provided the team with ample training in preparation for the match, however a dismal performance from the team nearly led to a 5-0 walk over. An 88th minute goal regained a shed of Pride for the promotion hopefuls.

Blakey0500 was said to be cursing and blinding at half-time and after the game.

'This is simply an unacceptable performance, they should all receive 10 lashes to whip them into shape, if this team doesn't manage a comfortable win at home to Pahang United on Friday then the team can kiss goodbye to their daughters ...., half-time donughts. Enough is enough with these time wasters, perform or you're outta here'

In other news, Blakey0500 has said his acupuncture treatment has worked miracles for his temper.

Back to square one

Yorkshires Amateurs suffered a disappointing 1-0 home defeat to AFC Stanley earlier this evening. A solitary set piece from Matts Wallman was enough to end the Amateurs all too brief upturn in form.
Although the Amateurs created more chances it was once again their lack of a cutting edge in front of goal that cost them dear.
The Amateurs have now failed to find the net in four of their opening six league fixtures and their profligacy in front of goal continues to present a real problem for their manager.
Next up are Underdogz United and it remains to be seen if Izuka will still be in the hot seat by the end of the week.

Bully Boys Leapfrog Gooners

A very nice day for us in terms of results: We, ourselves, won 4-2 away against a young PSV Eindhoven side which was obviously the best of the results from our perspective today.

Gooners were held by a weak and inactive Futsal side leaving them in dis-belief.

TCM were robbed by Dream Team, a contrast to his brother's result. This left Bully Boys on top of the table.

Our next opponents, FC Bayern Munchen, won which leaves them in good form going into our game next Friday but may the best team win.

At this stage in the season the teams I think will be promoted are Bully Boys, These Charming Men and it could be a big foot-race between slowly rising, Crimea River and homesick Gooners.

Totaalvoetbal Held

Totaalvoetbal fought out a 1-1 draw with Kirkbride Strollers as their run of massive fixtures continued.

Antonello Ballarin fired in a free-kick to put Totaal ahead but a strong second-half by the visitors meant the points would be shared.

Malcolm Graham would head in the equaliser and while both sides had chances to win the contest a draw would be a fair result.

Robin Meeblind met with the press after the game:
‘The point was okay,’ he opened.

‘We hope to win our home games but on the balance of play we didn’t do enough.

‘Obviously the next best thing is to ensure we are not defeated. Kirkbride can overwhelm any side on their day so it’s a point gained.’

Vajpayee Fires Victory

Shirsh Vajpayee was in fine form as Totaalvoetbal edged out The Vikings 3-2 in an explosive clash at Metelo Park.

Totaal would have the better of the first-half but were unable to take any of their chances. Their anxiety was then added to as Ferdinand Quinn shot the visitors into a lead on 54 minutes.

The sides would trade goals as Ramiro Verona levelled only for Justin Portway to have Eaglesrjh’s side back in front on the hour-mark.

However, Vajpayee would set-up William Ralph Dean for the equaliser before Antonello Ballarin converted a penalty which gave Totaal an important win.

Vajpayee was delighted with his performance and also the three points:
‘I was delighted the manager gave me the playmaker role for the contest,’ opened the midfielder.

‘I thrive on the responsibility and think I gave a good performance.

‘The three points were massive because we have total respect for The Vikings at Metelo Park. We have now got to continue to work hard.’

Potts Fires Shots for Amateurs

Yorkshires Amateurs picked up their first win since their return to top flight football as they overcame White Hawk FC 3-2. With both sides enduring a winless streak to start the season this match took on extra significance but the game proved to be open and entertaining. Hawk would look to strike the first blow and moments after Urby Jerome had seen a header saved by Bicanco, Charly Chan Jet Soe curled in a beautiful opener on eight minutes. The visitors wouldn’t take long to find their rhythm either but Antony Wallwork could only curl a shot wide on 18 minutes. Ryan Dharmsingh would then waste a chance to make it 2-0 to the hosts as he saw a lobbed header tipped over by Bicanco before another strike hit a post. The Amateurs would then enjoy a fine spell before the break and Derek Naples was unlucky with a shot which went just wide. Amadeo Caviedes would be the next to have a go but his powerful strike was parried by Dankoi. Nevertheless the visitors wouldn’t be denied their equaliser as Andrew Potts hit a long range shot beyond the ‘keeper on 44 minutes. The second-half wouldn’t see as many chances but would see plenty of goals. The Amateurs took the lead when Caviedes drilled in from distance on 63 minutes and once Potts had converted a penalty 10 minutes later they looked well in control. Hawk did manage a late consolation via the spot on 94 minutes courtesy of Adan Donahue but they had run out of time to snatch a point out of the game. Amateurs News reported that ‘a slightly more adventurous line-up’ paid dividends and they will now look to build on that against Stanley on Tuesday. Hooraymee has another home match next and will understand the necessity for three points as they remain winless.

The Vikings produced a storming first-half performance to defeat Arsenal DB 3-1 at Viking Land. On the back of defeat in their last game and with Arsenal in good form the home side knew they would have to be on top of their game and they wouldn’t disappoint. Ferdinand Quinn set the tone for a one-sided first-half by shooting home on just four minutes to delight The Viking support. Justin Portway quickly chipped in a second and Ferdo Pecar narrowly failed to make it three when his curled shot went just wide. Portway forced Aitkin into a decent save on 15 minutes from a placed shot but Thorbjorn Lind did add to their lead on the stroke of half-time with a clinical strike in the penalty area. Arsenal managed to restore a little pride in the second-half and pulled a goal back on 56 minutes when Francesc Fabregas placed home from their first chance. The same player might have set alarm bells ringing on 72 minutes with a header but it would brush a post and the home side would run down time on a fine victory. Eaglesrjh pronounced himself ‘still pretty happy with the progress so far’ and they look to be in prime position for a continued push for the title. Dom Brown admitted he is ‘trying a different formation each game’ in readiness for ‘next season.’

ThunderCats enjoyed a return to form in a 3-1 success over struggling Santos at Thundera Grounds. With Santos unable to find a win in their opening matches and ThunderCats also in need of a win something had to give in this match-up. The home side started in positive fashion with Silvio Falcao heading just wide but they would be stunned on 12 minutes as Robbie Mitchell powered in a header to put Santos in front. However, they would gift ThunderCats an immediate route back into the game as a miss-kick in front of his own goal by Torbjorn Alshammar resulted in the equalising goal. Falcao would then double Santos’ pain by putting the Cats in front with a finish of quality and the same player then defied a tight angle to put the home side 3-1 up on 31 minutes. Santos did try to get back into it before the break but a shot by Asmar Golkas went well-over and they faced a two-goal half-time deficit. The second-half began with Placido Polo putting a free-kick into the arms of Lukic while Mitchell forced Magro into a leg save at the other end. Mitchell would try his luck from a free-kick on 61 minutes and unfortunately saw his effort strike the angle of post and bar before Marcelo Afonso put a header poorly off-target. Santos continued to press but Mitchell’s luck was most definitely out as his free-kick struck wood again and this would prove their last chance. Carlos Partini missed a late chance for the home side but it proved irrelevant as they returned to winning ways. Baz will now look for his side to move further up the table with three points away to White Hawk and in this form they will be favourites. Santos News reported that ‘Sean7’s reluctance to spend on training sessions in order to get another superstar defender’ might be to blame for the side’s stuttering beginning to the campaign and they will need to find some wins soon to avoid a season of struggle.

At the top of the table Totaalvoetbal were held 1-1 by a strong Kirkbride Strollers side at Metelo Park. The home side were in confident mood after a good win last time out but came up against a resilient and impressive Kirkbride unit. It would be Totaal who would start the most impressively and they were in front on 10 minutes as Antonello Ballarin delivered a delightful free-kick which beat the despairing Hill in goal. Ramiro Verona would waste a chance to double the lead as he headed wide while Mark Simpson hit a tame shot at Leemans at the other end. The half ended as it began with a Ballarin free-kick but this time Hill was well-positioned to make the save. The second-half would see the visiting side become the more progressive unit. However, they had to survive an early Shirsh Vajpayee header which needed saving by Hill. Simpson would then see a volley saved by Leemans at the other end but they would find their equaliser moments later as a lob header by Malcolm Graham found the net. Billy Maneater then pressed Leemans into further action with a shot from close range before Stephen Robinson hit a post with a thumping free-kick. Totaal would respond but Zlatan Izuhimovic’s header was saved and they were once more indebted to Leemans who saved well from Graham at the other end. There was still time for Jaap Cruz to try and pinch the win for the home side but his booming drive struck a post and the sides settled for a point each. Robin Meeblind was ‘nothing more than satisfied’ with a point but admitted Kirkbride ‘will challenge all season for the title.’ Jazza’s side are just three points back of Totaal and they will now look to take advantage of a home fixture against Arsenal on Tuesday.

Real Madrid are still locked on points with Totaalvoetbal at the top as they took a point from a 0-0 draw with AFC Stanley. With both sides unbeaten following impressive starts to the campaign a tight match was expected and that is exactly how it panned out. The first-half proved a non-event as Stanley enjoyed a lot of possession but couldn’t make any chances while Madrid seemed content to just sit in. There would be chances after the break, though, and Jon MacClintock brought the very best out of Beeton from a steered shot before Garry Molseley got his shot all-wrong when well-placed. Madrid hit back and saw Samvel Mortanian bring a good save out of Hessbo before he then struck a free-kick too close to the ‘keeper. A late diving header by Vladimir Aleksanian went wide and the game would finish goalless. FredRizzo will see this as another positive display and his side continue to impress in their debut season. Markham looks to have his team primed for another strong season and will be looking to put themselves in contention at the halfway stage.

Underdogz United and West Brom Strollers played out a 0-0 draw in another tight game at Surprise Stadium. With time running out on Izuka’s stay at Underdogz his side put in a tiresome display to hold last season’s champions to a draw. Lee Hughes did nearly give West Brom an ideal start with a lobbed header which struck the woodwork but that would be the only chance in an otherwise quiet half of football. West Brom would also enjoy the first chance of the second-half and Hughes once again struck the woodwork this time with a half-volley. They would suffer more misfortune on 56 minutes when Willie Johnston side-footed beyond Casillas and, once again, the frame of the goal came to Underdogz’s rescue. The home side would force a chance on 72 minutes but Leonardo Borja couldn’t beat Valdezuka from a free-kick and 0-0 would be the final score. With Izuka looking like having one more game in charge of United he will be hopeful his side can give him a winning exit at home to Madrid. DD has seen his side struggle to score goals of late but with Bassett due back in their next game their title aspirations will surely improve.

MacCleir Magic Cruel for Milan

Smurftastic Smurfs hit the heights in Division One with a tight 1-0 win over AC Milan. However, the score only tells a small picture of a game in which Milan gave more than as good as they got. A quiet opening 45 minutes saw Quigley Addison have a free-kick caught by Bogefeldt with the visitor’s chance while Ernie Ormondroyd put his free-kick over at the other end. The game would enjoy more chances after the break and the majority would go the way of the visitors. Addison had another free-kick saved and they would be punished as Finlay MacCleir headed the home side into the lead on 59 minutes. Jonte Sandholm would respond by driving a shot too close to the ‘keeper before Lorenzo De Gasperi also failed with a thunderous strike. Savino Piovanelli’s flick header would be pushed round by Bogefeldt as Milan continued to press and Addison saw another free-kick miss the target. The Smurfs would have a headed effort courtesy of MacCleir but it would go high over the bar and they nearly paid the price as Bernard Lormor placed a header beyond the ‘keeper only to see it come back off a post. This would prove their last chance and the home side could celebrate three hard-earned points. Thesmurf is said to be happy with his side’s start and hopes that ‘things will continue to be good as form improves and as teamwork values start to gel.’ Xmensch will be disappointed with this defeat to say the least and will want his team to show more of a cutting edge to go with their play on Tuesday.

Pahang are level on points with the Smurfs at the top of the table after they edged out Bumerang 1-0. With both sides on seven points a tight game was expected but the home side would warrant their points. A strong first-half saw them create all the chances in the game and a power shot by Tom Hording nearly had them in front in the very first minute. Hording would be denied by Stancu moments later as the ‘keeper gathered at his feet but Pahang would be rewarded for their fine start on 19 minutes as Kilian Strongbow headed home. Strongbow looked to add a second before the break but his chip was punched away by Stancu and 1-0 would be the half-time score. A tighter contest would follow after the break but the first chance would again fall to the hosts; Strongbow’s header falling into the grateful arms of Stancu. Bumerang’s first chance would come on 63 minutes but Sten Stille side-footed wide. They would come very close to the equaliser on 71 minutes but Joseph Heffer’s luck was out as his diving header hit a post. Pahang would also strike the woodwork before the game was out but Harold Yates’ mishit shot didn’t really deserve to find the net. However, the home side did deserve their win which sees them up to second in the table. MrT thanked Harold and Strongbow for ‘outstanding games’ and hopes his team can maintain their high position. Coolboy will realise his side underperformed in the contest but knows a home win against Milan on Tuesday will get them back on track.

Carthage complete the top three following a stunning 2-1 success at F.C. Greatness. With both sides having enjoyed decent starts to the season any result seemed possible. Greatness would enjoy the first chance of the game but Fabian Ostgard’s free-kick was saved by Dido and the home side took control. Miguel Angelo put them in front following a corner on 14 minutes and Paul Glimsjo then went close with a header. Fabius Maximus also had a header saved on the stroke of half-time but the visitors would be in control at the break. Greatness opened the second-half with an equaliser courtesy of Fabrizio Colluato as the talented midfielder finished clinically. Hannibal Barca would respond by firing wide before Massimiliano Cardone missed the target at the other end. Barca would waste another chance for the visitors before Angelo was denied by Calvert. Carthage’s task got a little tougher moments later as Delis Eribenne was sent-off for brutal play as the game became fraught. However, Carthage would overcome this as Torsten Post converted a penalty to put them back in front. Ad Herbal might have added another but missed with a free-kick before Angelo also put a header wide. The missed chances weren’t to matter, though, as Blakey’s side held on for a brilliant three points which had the manager singing, ‘we only had 10 men.’ Darren Calvert will be unhappy with his side’s mid-table position as promotion is definitely on the agenda this term.

Splott Rovers continued their improved form with a storming 4-1 away success at Cardiff. Having recorded their first win in their last game Splott were looking to take advantage of a Cardiff side struggling with confidence. Cardiff did receive a welcome boost, though as Franklin Boden shot home after a corner to give them a lead on eight minutes. The start didn’t seem to unduly worry Splott and Paul-Phillip Ravage soon levelled with a clinical header. Chano Paya responded by having a header saved for the home side before Frank Punisher also put an aerial effort off-target. Punisher would get his goal, though, with a more precise header to leave Peyton beaten. This would become a familiar feeling for the home ‘keeper as moments later Ravage lobbed in another header to make it 3-1 to the surging visitors. Cardiff did have a late chance in the half but Paya’s shot was well-held by Roschach and Splott’s two-goal lead remained intact. The second-half saw Boden open with a volley which narrowly missed and from that moment on Rovers assumed control once more. Ravage would flick a further header off-target while Punisher had one saved by the ‘keeper. Reed Fantastic would net a fourth on 80 minutes with a fine strike and Rodney Shuttlewood might have added another late on but couldn’t make his driving shot count. Carbonmonoxide has seen his side adapt to the required level needed in this division and the manager will now be hopeful his side can go on and challenge for promotion. Nothing Uwfb has seen in his opening matches will have changed his opinion that the task is a tough one but he will be expecting his side to compete well against Bonkers on Tuesday.

AJ Rovers moved into fifth on the back of a 2-1 home win against Padston Villa. After struggling for goals in their opening batch of matches AJ put together a much more attacking display to edge out the talented visitors. Mercourios Simos opened up by driving narrowly wide before Gordon Hogg did put them in front with a powerful header. Padston came back well but Percival Horsfield’s header was saved before Luigi McKeever put a free-kick wide. The second-half would remain an entertaining contest with Villa equalising courtesy of a fine McKeever header. The home side’s response would be a Hogg drive which was held by Handez before Ferdinand Starck narrowly missed with a chip at the other end. The game would have a good flow to it by this stage and Eustace Bain went close with a header as the home side searched for the three points. Bain would follow up by putting a lob over but Rovers would be rewarded for their late pressure as Sonny Vickerman hit a stunning free-kick on 93 minutes. Rothion will be delighted at his side’s display and if they can follow that up with a similar display against Carthage they will be looking good. Paddy admitted ‘3-4-3 wasn’t for him after this defeat’ and the manager will be keen for his side to get back on track in their next outing.

Kensington picked up their second win of the campaign as they left Bonkers frustrated in a 2-1 success at Crazy Town. With Bonkers winless so far they were hopeful of opening their three-point account but came up against strong opposition in Kensington. The away side had the first sight of goal but Charles Tilly saw his header tipped over and Bonkers would then take the lead as Innocenzio Filippinetti steered home in the area on 15 minutes. Henrik Larsson would follow up by going close with a chip before the away side looked to respond. Niles Worthington would do just that by finding his range from distance to level and on the stroke of half-time Tilly headed in to turn the game round. After the break Larsson looked to level for the hosts but lobbed over while James Wilde missed with a powerful shot at the other end. Filippinetti would try for his second of the game on 67 minutes but couldn’t direct his free-kick accurately enough and this would prove their last chance. Dorian Lonsdale tried to extend the visitor’s lead but mishit his shot while Adrian Gray came very close with a steered effort which struck the woodwork. James Wilde would also strike a post on 90 minutes as Kensington finished strongly to secure a 2-1 triumph. Patrik looks to have steadied the ship since his troubled start and with the side in excellent form and only three points off top things look promising for another promotion challenge. Gareth Lloyd’s response was to say his side need ‘a right kicking up the behind to get their act together’ so we will await their next match with interest.

Memory Lane Win for Cath

Cathal enjoyed a winning return to his old club as Bully Boys FC edged out Abu Dhabi United 1-0 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium. With Bully Boys suffering their first defeat in their last game this one took on extra significance against a side who have been performing brilliantly this term. Bully Boys would put together a strong first-half performance and might have taken the lead had Berti Behrends managed to direct his shot a little more accurately. Dominic Smythe then had a powerful shot punched away by Rossell but the visitors would take the lead as Toini Vasama converted a penalty with ease. Abu Dhabi responded in the second-half but had to survive a Trudell Conway lob which smashed against the bar. They would then have a chance to pinch a point but Ritchie Morgan blasted a penalty over the bar and they fell to their first defeat of the campaign. Cath offered his opposite number commiserations before adding that he was ‘thrilled with the win.’ Talinmer said the ‘result was expected’ but rued the missed penalty.

Gooners slipped to a first defeat as The Kings came out deserved 2-1 winners at Masters. With Gooners in confident mood going into the game the home side knew they had to be at their best to get anything and they wouldn’t disappoint. Kyle Lang scored from the visitor’s opening chance as it looked like business as usual for FMR’s side. They might even have made it two but Marc Overmars headed wide and Allan Akerboom then hit the home side’s first chance wildly over. Akerboom then put a diving header too close to Seaman and it would be the leaders who would go in with a goal lead. However, the home side would be a different animal after the break with Paul Bracewell steering an opening shot wide. They would be level on 69 minutes as Trevor Steven directed in a header and Fitzsimmons protected their new found parity by saving from a Freddie Ljungberg shot. The Kings would be back on the attack as a Pat van de Hauwe free-kick brushed a post and they would then take the lead as Akerboom placed home an excellent header. Gooners tried to level instantly but Sylvain Wiltord’s shot couldn’t find the net and it might have been 3-1 but Trevor Steven’s lob smashed against the bar. Ultimately it wouldn’t matter as The Kings clinched an impressive win. With this victory behind them Hitman10 will be looking for his side to push on and force themselves into the promotion race; starting with an away match at wortley. FMR won’t be pleased by his side’s defeat and a response will be vital at Futsal.

These Charming Men joined Gooners on 12 points as they overcame Crimea River 2-0 at Irregulars Arena. With Ithaqua having got an instant response out of his side RDCM had his troops well aware of the threat the visitors would pose. A tight first-half would see only one chance and Fabianski proved the equal to Chano Delgado’s header. The rest of the half would be a battle of attrition as the sides fought for supremacy. The second-half would see TCM open up and they duly took the lead when Loran Rajabi steered home a shot from inside the area. Bryan Higginbottom then skimmed a chip over the bar before powering in from distance to make it 2-0. Crimea River did have a late chance to make an impact on the game but Eduardo da Silva was denied by Derksen and they were defeated. RDCM will have been delighted with three points against a dangerous opponent but another one awaits them in the next round as they travel to meet Dream Team. Ithaqua has been busy in the transfer market since he took over the Crimea hot-seat and his side are sure to be a work in progress for a little while.

Futsal and FC Bayern Munchen battled out a 1-1 draw in an entertaining clash at Futsal Arena. With both sides competing in the middle of the table they were looking for three points to move them up towards the promotion pack. The opening half would belong to the visitors as they created all of the chances. Billy Bob would be the first to try his luck but put a powerful shot over the bar, however, Sam Jakestown would do better with a lob which beat Roberts and found the net for the opening goal. Bob would then place a header wide as the score remained 1-0 at the break to the visitors. The second 45 minutes would see Futsal come into the contest. However, they had to survive two Bob free-kicks; one of which was tipped over by Roberts while the other was off-target. Futsal’s first chance came via the boot of Ricky Routhledge but he put his chip over the bar. However, they would be level on 72 minutes as Freddy Kennedy converted a penalty with the minimum of fuss. Kennedy might have put his side ahead but missed with a powerful shot. Routhledge would also miss the target with a drilled effort and the sides would take away a point each. Both Wildy1974 and Dimentis will be happy enough with their starts but will recognise they need a couple of wins to force themselves upon the top three or four sides.

Dream Team finally got back to winning ways with a 4-2 home success over wortley afc. With both sides enduring a stuttering start to the campaign they needed the points and it would show in a pulsating encounter. Wortley would begin by opening the scoring courtesy of a cheeky toe-poke by Brandon Hiller on four minutes. Moments later Paulinho Santos had a free-kick turned round by Delirious in a breathless start. Garry Gain began the attacking for DT with a powerfully curled shot which levelled matters on nine minutes before the same player missed by inches with a powerful header. At the other end Rai Kike put a diving header over before DT struck the front as Warren Wish headed home accurately. Hiller would waste a chance for the visitors by heading off-target before Santos had a free-kick held by Delirious. The second-half saw more of the same as the sides attacked the game. Curt Pryor drove in a stunning equaliser for wortley on 49 minutes and the same player headed too close to the ‘keeper as they looked for the lead. DT wouldn’t play second fiddle for long, though, and Gain placed home a header to put them back in front. Wish would waste another headed chance but DT would double their lead as Ronaldo Ready thumped home a free-kick. Mil Moody might have added another goal but his curled effort hit the angle while Pryor lobbed over the bar at the other end. Hiller would then see a header held and DT also still looked dangerous as Wish hit a post with a placed shot. Santos would then waste wortley’s last chance to get back into the game by hitting a free-kick too near to Delirious and DT had got a much needed three points. @peace will be relieved at his first win at the club but they face a tough challenge next as TCM come to town. Thegtreatlordbags continues to see his side entertain but a more cynical edge might be needed to survive this division.

Juventus got a much needed second win of the campaign as they disposed of PSV Eindhoven 4-0 at Delle Alpi. In need of points Juve sensed the opportunity to put the young PSV to the sword and they did what was required in an efficient performance. Orlan Canito opened the scoring on four minutes with a diving header and Jorn Fruh came within the width of a post of making it two with a header on 13 minutes. Kristoffer Lindfors did make it 2-0 on 25 minutes with a clinical strike in the area and worse was to follow for PSV as Jacobo Chacros delivered a super free-kick. Ezequiel Avila wasted the visitor’s only chance of the half and they went in three behind. A quieter second-half ensued with Rory MacFinlay heading tamely at Tonetto with the first chance. Juventus duly made it 4-0 on 63 minutes as Lindfors headed home his second of the game to complete a routine win. SuperJuve will now be hopeful his side can make it back-to-back wins as they travel to Munchen on Tuesday. Kadri admitted Juve ‘countered them well’ and ‘were very clinical in front of goal.’
