MVB Mood On Up

Totaalvoetbal manager Robin Meeblind was in a relaxed mood ahead of today’s clash with AFC Stanley as RM News caught up with him earlier today.

A 3-0 success over Santos FC on the back of a 2-0 triumph over ThunderCats has seen relegation fears ease around the MVB Arena.

Johan Juffing, Pierre van Diemen and Cal Beardsley netted the goals in the latest triumph with Meeblind happy the goals have been spread around:

“Obviously delighted with the win and with the clinical nature of our finishing,” he began.

“We have got a goal from the defence, midfield and forward parts of our team and that makes us a big threat. We hope to continue with this.

“The recent wins have eased the fans’ nerves somewhat and it is hoped we have turned the corner. In honesty that is what we would have hoped for when we had our side back to full-strength.

“What we have to do now is continue our run. That is easier said than done with Stanley our next opponents. They have done well against us recently so we’ll all look forward to welcoming Markham and the challenge.”

FLYING DOG

has a new manager in master reid a experienced manager is what the board wanted and we think we have achieved that, reid spoke earlier today about his appointment it is a honor to come to this club and to try to achieve great things, first up to see what these players can do, and to stay in the division, promotion is not on the a gender at this moment but will take it, today's game sees Kensington come to town, full house is expected and a good result is needed, up Bolton Hillbillies formally known as Flying Dog.

Promotion hunt not over yet

Bill Murray's promotion hopes took a big dent with a 2-0 away loss White Hawk FC but manager CM hasn't given up all hope yet: "yes, it looks badand we will need to win nearly all our remaining games but it can be done" he told the press in a bullish display. "we need to start with a win at home today. I haven't had long at the club and there has been a lot of turmoil with us having 3 managers this season but I'm here for the long haul and we will see where we are in 7 games time and take it from there!"

The Vikings 1 - 1 Reggae Reggae Sauce

Viking Land News

Vikings sneak point in hard home game.

The game started brightly for the Vikings and Papakostas saw a 6th minute effort saved by the keeper. This was the only effort of note in the first half.

The second half was a slightly brighter affair. First of all John Part shot over for the sauce in the 48th minute. Papakostas then tried to round the keeper in the 52nd minute but the sauce keeper got to the ball. Tassiopoulos then missed with a 56th minute effort as the Vikings pushed but could not break through. The Vikings were made to pay for this as Reggae Reggae Sauce got a chance at the other end and Orasan headed home in the 58 th minute to give the Sauce the lead. The game changed in the 68th mimute when Part caught Papakostas with an elbow, this cost Papakostas a bloody nose but he played on but it also cost Part a second booking and off he went. it looked like Sauce would hold on until a 90th minute corner saw Ahlm arrive late at the back post a loop a header into the net for an equaliser. 1-1 full time.

Eaglesrjh said "hah just my luck to get RRS when xpertelevener is back on form and managing properly. Hopefully he will continue to do so and others will find the sauce as hard to play!. Next up is a big game agains Villareal and a positive result could go a long way to promotion this season."

Kensington Boys Club 0 - 2 The Vikings

Viking Land News

Vikings gain revenge for earlier home defeat.

The Vikings gained revenge for the home defea suffered at the hands of Kensington Boys Club with a good 2-0 away win.

The game started wll for the Vikings and Colin Crouch got them the perfect start in the 16th minute when he picked up a pass from Ahlm and curled home a beautiful long range shot that left Kensington keeper Lorentzen looking on helplessly. Potway then narrowly missed with a header on 21 as the Vikings pressed hard. Kensington where finding opportunities hard to come by and may have felt Whitley should have done better in the 23rd minute but his header was easily dealt with by Raasch. De Vere then saw a 35th minute lob saved as KBC looked for a way back into the game. 0-1 half time of an even game.

The second half started quietly and nothing of note happened unti the 71st minute. Worthington lashed in a long range effort for Kensington and with PatrikPatrik celebrating on the sidelines the whistle then went for a clear offside to rule out the equaliser. De Vere then received a 2nd yellow for Kensington as he attempted to con the ref to win a penalty but thankfully the ref was wise to this! The Vikings used this extra man to seal the game. A set piece move saw Almandis set up Portway and he volleyed the ball home in the 87th minute. Potway then saw a 90th minute header fly over but it didnt matter and the Vikings picked up 3 valuable points.

Manager Eaglesrjh was delighted to gain revenge "It's a great result and good to gain some revenge for the earlier defeat at the hands of Kensington. We need to keep pushing on from here as the promotion race is really tight"

McCanss delight at new challenge

New Tir eoghain manager Eamonn McCann spoke of his delight at takeing the reigns" im very happy to be here and be given this opportunity i would like to thank league admin Eaglerjh for installing me into the hot seat, i have looked in detail at my squad and beleive they have a lot of promise although i do feel i have a lot of hard work ahead of me, but i do see a positive future for this club i view this as a long term job and aim to be competeing in the top division as soon as i can."

Cats Back on Track

ThunderCats bounced back from defeat in their last game with a 2-1 away success against F.C. Greatness. Greatness would have their chances in the contest, though, and Fabian Ostgard’s power shot needed saving by Magro as early as the second minute. Magro was then on hand to tip over a Faust Baronchelli free-kick and ThunderCats would take advantage by scoring through a brilliant diving header by Fabricio Cidade. Greatness responded well to this setback, though, with Fabrizio Colluato equalising by placing a header beyond Magro. The second-half would see Carlos Magro score from the spot to put the visitors 2-1 in front with only their second chance of the game. The home side would strike back with a fine effort from Mario Balotelli but the goal was disallowed for handball. Despite this setback Greatness would continue to press for the equaliser. Baronchelli shooting tamely at Magro from distance before they won a 69th minute penalty; however Fabio Cannavaro could only strike the post from his shot and the visitors escaped. Nevertheless the home side continued to press with Baronchelli having two free-kicks saved in quick succession. The three points will have been nothing less than Meelas expected and he will know they cannot afford any slip-ups with West Brom breathing down their necks. Darrencalvert will be disappointed that his side couldn’t make more of the chances they created and they will need to rectify this if they are to survive for another season in the top flight.

West Brom kept the pressure on ThunderCats with a 5-0 thumping of AC Milan. A first minute header by Cyrille Regis gave them the perfect start and the striker might have made it 2-0 but for some fine ‘keeping. Billy Bassett couldn’t make the most of his first free-kick effort of the day and he would fare little better on 19 minutes as he thumped one over the bar. It would be left to Regis to score the second of the game with a powerful header on 24 minutes although he would then go off injured. Bassett would finally curl a beautiful free-kick in for 3-0 and they were well in control despite Savino Piovanelli going close with a diving header at the other end. Richard Sneekes made it four with a clinical strike in the penalty area and although Bassett had a free-kick saved before the break the home side would be very happy with their first-half work. The second-half saw fewer chances but Bassett did think he had made it 5-0 with a fine header only for it to be disallowed for offside. Lee Hughes would net the fifth moments later, though, as he looped in an excellent header. Bobby Taylor and Lee Hughes would have late chances but neither could make them count. Dinky has his side in prime position should ThunderCats show any weakness and with a superior goal difference as well this race is ready to go to the final game. Milan look adrift and set for a stay in Division One of the RMI following a run of nine successive defeats.

New York City remained on the fringe of the title battle with a 3-0 away success at Yorkshires Amateurs. Shinosuke Isimaru would give them the ideal start with a powerful long range shot on five minutes to put them 1-0 up. Carl-Gunnar Fagregren would waste a chance on 21 minutes before Elvis MacCaran lobbed in a header for 2-0 on 35 minutes. The second-half would see the Amateurs have a Micky Cox effort comfortably saved by Sattler before they would also waste a penalty by Murray Davis; the midfielder blasting over the bar. New York would capitalise on this by winning a penalty of their own with David Sattler making no mistake from the spot. Scott Flynn would toe-poke at Bicanco but City had done their hard work in a 3-0 success. Jimmy declared himself happy with his side ‘keeping themselves in the title race’ and he will be hopeful of three more points at Milan on Friday. Danlufc13 will return to a struggling Amateurs side but he will be able to start with a clean slate in Division One next term.

Three Lions kept pace with New York as they defeated AFC Stanley 3-2 at Wembley. Stanley had an early effort by Dijedon Betimaj comfortably saved while a Zlatan Izuhimovic bicycle-kick was saved at the other end. Per-Elvis Granander headed wide for Stanley with the last effort of the half as the sides went in level at 0-0. Granander would make amends with an early powerful strike in the second-half but a toe-poke by Cesc Izukas quickly had the hosts level. The Lions would then strike the front courtesy of a flick header by Robin van Izu but Granander would drag Stanley level with a cool finish following an excellent breakaway. Stanley would look to strike the front but Garry Molseley would hit a free-kick over and the Lions would capitalise as Rodrigo Possebon hit home a long range strike to give them a 3-2 lead. The visitors searched for a point but Granander chipped over and they would go home defeated. Izuka will surely be setting his target for the season a little higher now with the title still not being out of reach. Markham congratulated Izu on a ‘good game’ and will be hopeful of his side ending the season on a high.

Tranmere Rovers continued their good recent form with a 1-0 triumph at Hun Haters. The Haters would have the first chance but Ted Caird’s half-volley went straight to Sjolund. Rovers responded with an effort by Raymond Jillhed but the forward couldn’t find the net. The game continued to ebb and flow with Finlay MacCleir side-footing wide at the other end. After the break the home side had a Don MacArthur header go over before Rovers responded with a header by Sandro Bucchi which went wide. Craig Elliston was unlucky not to give Haters the lead as his free-kick struck the bar and their woes increased when Christiano Olias converted a penalty for Rovers. Elliston would waste a late chance as he put a chip over and the Haters were beaten. The defeat leaves CC’s side just three points above the drop zone and they will realise there is plenty of hard work still to do if they are to survive. Baz’s side appear well-placed in mid-table and with some astute signings next season could offer brighter things for Rovers.

Totaalvoetbal made it two wins from two as they defeated Santos 3-0 at the MVB Arena. Johan Juffing would score from the first chance on 25 minutes and when Pierre van Diemen converted a penalty on 41 minutes things were looking good for the home side. Shivan Preetnav had a fine effort tipped over by Rodenas before Santos finally had a couple of efforts. Unfortunately, though, Fanuco Ufarte and Cesar Duarte both failed to hit the target and Totaal would add a third. The goal would come courtesy of Cal Beardsley as the defender headed home perfectly from a Preetnav corner. Meeblind was hoping that ‘the corner had been turned’ by his side following another good performance. Sean7 might also be concerned with events below his team as they sit just six points above Greatness and they face a crunch match against them on Friday.

As You Were

Manchester United were halted in their tracks by a determined Villarreal side who came away from Old Trafford with a 1-1 draw. Eric Cantona gave United a dream start by placing home an 11th minute opener. Ronaldo would then try and increase the lead but shot wide and United suffered a serious injury to Kuszczak in goal. Nevertheless United remained on the front foot with Owen Hargreaves trying to lob Abrey but the ‘keeper managed to punch the ball away. Villarreal would stun the hosts at the start of the second-half as Rafaele Di Muri headed home to level the game. A Ronaldo free-kick hit the post on 57 minutes and he would have another effort saved by Abrey as they suffered frustration. The visitors then thought they had pinched a winner but Claudio Moura’s injury-time effort was disallowed for a tight offside. United remain four points clear at the top and Pakya will be hopeful they can take advantage of a home match against Omer to stretch that lead still further. Cathal heaped praise on Pakya being a ‘brilliant team builder from the beginning’ before focusing on his next match against The Vikings against a manager who he likens to playing ‘rock, paper, scissors on world class.’

Kirkbride Strollers moved back into the top three with a solid 2-0 home success over Kensington Boys Club. The home side would see El Lapinho hit a post early on but then not enjoy any more openings in a quiet first 45 minutes. Keith Ellison cracked an effort wide at the start of the second-half and Malcolm Graham also struck a post as the pressure began to increase on the visitors. Billy Maneater would miss the target from a tight angle before the hosts would take the lead; Stephen Robinson making good from a free-kick chance. KBC would try to strike back with a free-kick of their own but James Wilde’s effort was held by the ‘keeper and Graham shot home following a corner at the other end to put the seal on a 2-0 victory. The victory puts Jazza back in possession of a sought after promotion place but he will be keen to stress to his troops that the hard work starts now. Patrik has seen his side lose their last three games and will need to arrest that run if they are to stay in the race for promotion.

The Vikings were the team replaced in the top three as they were held to a 1-1 home draw by Reggae Reggae Sauce. Vassilis Papakostas had the only chance of the opening 45 minutes but couldn’t match power with accuracy on his driving shot. It would be the visitors who would have the first chance after the break but John Part couldn’t direct his powerful shot on target while Papakostas was denied by Taylor at the other end. Tassiopoulos also missed a chance for The Vikings before a powerful header by Timotei Orasan gave Sauce a shock lead. However, no sooner had they gained the initiative than John Part got himself sent-off for elbowing to boost the home side. The Vikings would take advantage of this by scoring a late equaliser; Melker Ahlm looping a header in to the relief of the home crowd. Eaglesrjh described his team as ‘stumbling onwards’ but they are sure to compete to the last. All RRS supporters will be delighted that their manager has ‘found time to pick (the) team and do tactics again.’ With this being the case a strong end to the season is hoped for.

AJ Rovers couldn’t make any headway on the top three as they were defeated 3-1 at home to FC Flying Dog. Rovers wasted an early chance as a Sonny Vickerman free-kick missed the goal. Sebi Cizma did better at the other end as he finished a breakaway move with some aplomb. Rovers would have a Mercourios Simos lob disallowed before the visitors doubled their lead courtesy of an Antony Cowdrey looped header. Dog saw Cizma head at Mortimer before a Collymore header hit the bar as they maintained the initiative. Collymore would add the third by toe-poking home on the hour as the game seemed out of the reach of the hosts. Simos missed a flick header while Collymore hit a half-volley wide as the chances continued. Cowdrey would see Mortimer punch his header away before Rovers would pull one back at the other end; Gregory Rowling slipping the ball past Dittmer to give the home fans something to cheer. Ultimately, though, it proved irrelevant and Rothion’s side are four points away from the promotion places. Flying Dog have moved themselves eight points clear of the relegation zone and look an attractive proposition for a new manager to take-over.

Belly Tubbies also eased their relegation fears with a 6-0 victory over St Omer at Flabbyland. A second minute strike by Graeme Sharp settled the crowd and the home side would go on to dominate. Sharp would brush a post with another effort before William Ralph Dean also hit a post with a fine header. Tim Cahill would add the second with an excellent volley and then added the third with a header on the half-hour. Adrian Heath hit an effort straight at Hamshaw before the ‘keeper also denied Kevin Sheedy’s header as Omer clung on. The fourth goal did arrive in the early stages of the second-half with Phil Neville curling in a spectacular effort. It would be 5-0 on 59 minutes as Dean headed home precisely and the rout was completed with a Heath effort from distance on 81 minutes. Fitzy has his side five points clear of the drop zone and has them in mean mood defensively as that is now five games without a goal conceded. ConyTottee will be pleased that the season is reaching its twilight period and the all-important change report will indicate what his next steps will be.

PSV Eindhoven paid the price for missed chances as they went down 1-0 at home to Pahang United. Rory MacFinlay would have the hosts’ first chance but his shot was gathered by Richert. Jonny Easter then forced Richert into a fine save with his feet as the defender tried to net with a header. Eindhoven would start the second-half with a Jose Fonte free-kick not really testing Richert while Xabi Alonso hit an effort over the bar. Pahang had their first chance with Tajo Cuevas putting a volley over while Frans Haggbring was denied by Richert at the other end. MacFinlay headed high above the goal and their frustrations would increase with a red-card for Easter and a Rano Pantow power shot resulting in a 91st minute winner for the visitors. The win has MrT’s side eight points ahead of their opponents and they will be confident of survival following the result. Kadri faces an important clash against his nearest rival on Friday and a win against Belly Tubbies becomes crucial to their survival hopes.

Cressex Crushed at Crazy Town

Bonkers remained on course for promotion with a 6-1 thumping of Cressex at Crazy Town. The goal frenzy started early with Mortimer Wainman side-footing home in the first minute to give the hosts the lead. Cressex tried to hit back but Douglas Wallberg saw his half-volley saved by Hawke while Wainman remained dangerous at the other end with a curled effort which was stopped by Stoker. Pietro Grimaldi thumped a driving shot wide for Cressex before their troubles doubled with Garry Maynard shooting home from inside the penalty area on 12 minutes. It was quickly 3-0 as Philip Calderwood hit a stunning volley from distance on 15 minutes and nine minutes late Stefan Beelenkamp curled in a free-kick to leave Cressex stunned. Tomas Tiribocchi did curl a shot in for the visitors to reduce the deficit to three and they had a chance to make it 4-2 but Carasario Falcioni couldn’t direct his effort on target. Wainman hit a half-volley well-wide with the last effort of the first-half but despite this the home side would go in the happier of the two teams. The second-half had little action until late on with Beelenkamp thumping in another free-kick to make it 5-1 and then completing a stunning hat-trick with a delightful lob minutes later. Bonkers News claimed the team ‘is buzzing with excitement’ and who can blame them as they score goals for fun and sit at the top of the table. Cressex slip into the relegation zone on the back of this defeat but they will know that matches won’t come much tougher than Bonkers away.

Keeping in touch with Bonkers are the unrelenting White Hawk FC who have now won four straight after a 2-0 home victory over Bill Murray FC. The game was marred by serious injuries to Martin Keown and Cianan Cathan as both sides had to reshuffle. The home side would cope the better, though, and saw their hard work pay off during an impressive second-half. Adan Donahue went within inches of opening the scoring before a Matts Perman header did give them a 56th minute lead. A minute later and Donahue might have doubled the lead but sent his free-kick wide. He would enjoy a quick chance at redemption, though, as his team were awarded a 59th minute penalty and he made no mistake in giving his team a 2-0 lead. With the visitors unable to create anything themselves the defeat might have been heavier but Donahue enjoyed no luck with a free-kick which struck a post and the final score remained 2-0. Hawk are five points clear of fourth and while promotion remains their number one priority they will still be looking at overhauling the leading Bonkers. CM will be assessing his side ahead of his first full season in charge and they might still force themselves into the promotion race if they can put a late run together.

The Lone Wanderers are the third team in the promotion area after a 6-0 home win over Norfolk N Chance. The result was never really in any doubt once a lob by Mart Rosbottom found the corner of the net on three minutes. William MacAvish hit a post with a fine strike on 10 minutes and the forward would then see a driving shot well-held by Olausson. Arsim Kule did make it 2-0 with a diving header and MacAvish eventually got his goal with a cool finish from a breakaway move. It was 4-0 on 24 minutes as a diving header by Albert Scully proved too much for Olausson and Rosbottom added his second by coolly rounding the ‘keeper on 34 minutes to give his side a 5-0 half-time lead. The second-half proved a much quieter affair with just the one chance. It fell to the home side as MacAvish curled home his second of the game to complete a 6-0 home victory. HH had words of praise for Howemiester’s approach to the game saying he has ‘a will of iron and a heart of steel.’ All of the Wanderers are now focusing on their match with Bonkers in what is being billed as ‘the game of the season.’ A Wanderers win and the title race will be blown wide open. As for Norfolk the season’s success will be decided by the change report with the league looking on to see if the youngsters have developed as hoped.

These Charming Men are still in the promotion race after a dramatic 3-3 draw at Los Samgeles Kings. Lorn Rajabi gave the visitors a flying start with a stunning header on two minutes and they might have doubled their advantage but Linus Streicher had a header saved. Chano Delgado would put them 2-0 up however as he drove in a shot from distance. To their credit the Kings wouldn’t let this poor start get them down and Evgeni Malkin halved the deficit by finishing a swift breakaway on 18 minutes. Dan Scuderi might have levelled matters before the break but his header hit the bar. The second-half saw TCM start well and they re-established their two goal lead with a Delgado header looping in on 51 minutes. Jorge Carril might have made it 4-1 but his free-kick smacked into a post while Rajabi’s header didn’t trouble Ersberg. The home side responded once more but Luc Robitaille put his header over while Ersberg was alert enough to deny Delgado with a brilliant save. The Kings would go close to pulling a goal back as a mishit shot by Dan Scuderi struck a post before TCM gifted them a route back in. A poorly placed back header by Jordi Rodri evaded his own ‘keeper to make it 2-3 and when Delgado missed a chance to extend the lead again the home side capitalised. Michal Handzus curled in a stunner from outside the area to send the home fans delirious. This would prove the final chance of the game with the sides taking a point each away from the encounter. The point takes Stripy’s side out of the drop zone and they will be keen to build on the momentum they gained from the latter stages of this game. RDCM wryly said that they ‘should have won etc etc’ but the manager is experienced enough to know these things happen. He will also ensure they are in the right frame of mind when they travel to Kroklund on Friday.

Kroklund were embroiled in a 3-3 draw of their own as they fought back for a point at Futsal. The home side would start the quicker of the two but Rowley Forrester hit a free-kick over and they would find themselves behind. Gabriel Galtier would show his striking instinct with a fine toe-poke to give the visitors a fifth minute lead. Their joy would be short-lived, however, as a well-placed header by Rick Tuttle levelled matters a minute later. Galtier tried to re-establish his side’s lead but put his lob over and they would be behind on nine minutes as a penalty was duly converted by Freddy Kennedy. Robin Barratt toe-poked wide and Mirciulica Bardes missed the target with a header as the home side continued to press. Indeed, Barratt would put a power shot wide as they struggled with their finishing. The second-half saw Forrester hit an early free-kick at Kangashaka before Ryan Prisk made it 3-1 with a looping header. Kroklund would respond well to this setback, though, and Bosse Bong pulled a goal back with a fine header on the hour. Futsal continued to look dangerous but Barratt had a lob saved before the ‘keeper also denied him from a power shot. Kroklund looked for the equaliser with Aatu Vuokki shooting wide. Galtier would have better luck on 79 minutes by placing a clinical shot in to make it 3-3. Both sides would have a late chance to win it but Chris Collin and Bosse Bong were denied by the respective ‘keepers and the sides would have to settle for a point apiece. The point takes Jake’s side to within three of safety and they will look to close the gap further with an away match at Bill Murray on Friday. Meanwhile, bossebong’s side are three points above the drop zone and they will look to keep this gap in place as the games tick by.

Real Madrid enjoyed a welcome win with a 2-0 success at home to Juventus. A fourth minute header by Stu Mackay gave them the ideal platform on which to build their success. Juventus would try to hit back through Alberto Morante but his half-volley went over. Mackay would then have a header saved before hitting the post with another headed effort. Kapo Kachadorian would double the lead on 38 minutes, though, as he shot home from inside the penalty area. The second-half saw Juve search for a way back in but two free-kicks by Mairthin Foley were easily saved and they saw time run out on their chances. Madrid and its supporters have been in a much happier state since FredRizzo returned ‘fully focused’ after dealing with ‘some urgent personal issues.’ With the club now six points clear of the drop zone they will expect to finish in a respectable position and move on to better things next term. SuperJuve finds his club in a similar position and they will look forward to a home match against Los Samgeles to further distance themselves from the bottom sides.

Carthage Champions?

Carthage extended their lead at the head of Division Three with a 3-1 win at The Champs. Guido Eliseo made the most of a chance from a corner on 19 minutes but had his goal disallowed somewhat dubiously for offside. A volley by Eric Fray went over for the visitors before Leigh Ellefson missed a chance at the other end. The first goal did arrive as Marcus Spillane struck in the penalty area. Fray would miss a headed chance before the break and there would only be a goal in it as they went into the sheds. Fray would enjoy the first chance of the second-half and he headed home precisely to double their lead. A powerful low shot by Ellefson did halve the deficit within moments but you sensed Carthage were always in control. Eliseo had a header saved and Spillane fired a free-kick wide as the pressure intensified. The third goal did arrive as Amin Mansourian flicked a header home on 89 minutes to seal the win. Blakey can start planning for life in Division Two and even marked the date ‘Trophy Day’ in his calendar as his side’s superb form continues. The Champs’ hopes are fading and they will need to find form soon to arrest their slide down the table.

Dream Team are now their nearest challengers as they saw off Grey Area 3-0 at the Stadium of Dreams. Rinaldo Lupatelli set them off on the right foot with a clever toe-poked goal on five minutes and it might have been 2-0 just three minutes later but a Gianmarco Siligardi chip struck the bar. Lupatelli made Kerrigan make a save on 12 minutes with another lob and the pressure continued to build on the visitors. Milorad Gavrancic had a header saved by Kerrigan before the break but the second-half would bring more of the same. Adem Tumer made it 2-0 on 48 minutes with a fine driving shot to put the game out of reach for the uncompetitive visitors. They did see Sheldon Skiverton head over but a Warren Dillin strike made their evening more uncomfortable as they fell 3-0 behind. Lupatelli was thwarted by the ‘keeper once more before volleying wide. He would have one final chance in injury-time but again would find his shooting boots had deserted him, however his side still eased to a comfortable victory. The victory will have been a relief for MrJames who had explained that they would be in ‘a lot of doo doo’ if they had lost again. As it is they are three points clear of fourth and will be hopeful of securing a promotion place. Grey Area continue with their season of mediocrity with the fans hoping Trecool will bring happier days next season.

Wiltshire Warriors picked up an important three points as they defeated rivals Arsenal at The Fortress. The match was as tight as everyone had anticipated with chances few and far between. Robin van Persie did think he had given Arsenal the lead but he had failed to time his run properly and was well offside. The forward would then go off injured to disrupt Arsenal’s plans and a well-placed header by Farshid Jalali dented their ambitions still further with the opening goal for the home side. Arsenal then suffered a further injury as Theo Walcott hobbled off. They did have the only chance of the second-half but a Sid Peyton strike was well-saved by Hogg and the points belong to the home side. The Warriors now sit just two points behind their vanquished opponents and they are perfectly placed if one of the sides above them should slip-up in the run-in. Indeed, Big K is predicting a tough run-in even for ‘champions elect’ Carthage who he hopes to give a ‘banana skin’ to on Friday. DomBrown explained the manner of the defeat ‘was hard to take’ and they will be looking to get their injured players fit as soon as possible.

Another side keeping their outside promotion hopes alive were wortley afc who defeated Morley 2-1 at the western. An early header by Brandon Hiller failed to go close for the hosts while Zacharias Ashe hit an effort at Jenning as the game had an open beginning. Gwilym Cullip hit a free-kick at the ‘keeper for the visitors while Walter Willock couldn’t make a header count as the sides continued to trade chances. Brandon Hiller would then have the next couple of chances and after putting a header over he drilled in from distance to give the hosts a 1-0 lead. Walter Willock might have made it 2-0 but his header struck the post and Morley tried to respond. Reno Robredo hit a shot well-wide, though, as he couldn’t overcome a tight angle but Florian Arnautu did strike from inside the penalty area as the sides would go in level at the break. Morley would have the first effort of the second-half but Daniel Sa Pinto saw his header brush a post and they would find themselves behind as Hiller netted with a diving header. Rai Kike shot at Zubeldia as the home side tried to add a third while Ashe shot wide with a half-volley at the other end. Arnautu would also go close for the visitors while Hiller wasted a golden opportunity for wortley by hitting a penalty against the bar. Morley had one final chance to try and pinch a point but Cullip couldn’t make a free-kick count and they would go home empty handed. Thegreatlordbags has his side six points off the pace but they have everything to play for as the season enters its final stretch. Leeg21, meanwhile, will probably be concentrating on a good change report now as promotion looks out of their reach.

Alsancak and Glory Hornets took a point apiece away from a 2-2 draw in an entertaining clash at Mosquito Alley. It would be the Hornets who would looked like taking an early lead but Toma Popadic’s strike was ruled out for a doubtful offside decision. Gabriel Agbonlahor saw Blacksmith punch away his effort as the home side had their first chance on 25 minutes but they would find themselves behind four minutes later as Popadic hit home brilliantly from a free-kick. This lead wouldn’t last long, though, as Rory Burston shot home in the penalty area on 34 minutes. Mark Noble would complete the turnaround as he found the net from distance to give the home side a 2-1 half-time advantage. The second-half wouldn’t see much action in the penalty area until the latter stages when Lionel Monk toe-poked home the equaliser for the Hornets. The home side had late chances but Andrew Taylor was denied by Blacksmith while a header by Rory Burston missed the target. It was another encouraging performance by Wienersnitzel’s side and on another day they might have had the full three points. GregPerkins has his side tucked into mid-table and with a good change report big things will be expected of them next season.

Spartans defeated Chester United 4-0 in Jimbob’s last match in charge of the away side. An early lob by Aiden McGeady made it 1-0 on seven minutes for the hosts. A penalty on 35 minutes would then make it 2-0 as Ezequiel Garay made no mistake from the spot. Chester saw Alan Shearer hit the angle of post and bar in a rare foray forward while Xavi Hernandez missed a chance at the other end. Sonny Baron had an effort saved by Neuer before the home side took control once again. Wesley Sneijder made it 3-0 with a smart finish from a breakaway move. Bojan Krkic hit the post with a smart effort on 57 minutes before finding his goal seven minutes later with a well-placed shot which left Raberg with no chance. In truth both clubs have insecure futures as Tomsayshii hasn’t been seen at the club for a little while and Jimbob never really enjoyed the challenge before resigning.

Chester have a change

I'm delighted to report that Chester United have found a new manager and a new name in the midnight hours!

Tyroneabu has taken charge and has wasted little time in renaming the side Tír Eoghain. The club will be hoping that the new manager is the real deal and can push the team forward.

Admin Eaglesrjh is delighted to have the vacany filled and wishes the new manager the best of luck with his new team.

We're on the Bend

Cathal Brennan today said in his press conference that the next few games will decide if Villarreal will be promotion contenders when they get onto the homestraight.

"Nobody can argue with the record we are holding at the moment and are spirits are high aswell. Our last loss was against this very team and we are determined not to lose on Friday.

Our next 2 games are against our 2 closest contenders for promotion, The Vikings and Kirkbride Strollers. To be honest I am in a bit of a muddle with setting tactics for our game against the Vikings and of course we are aiming for the win but I say a draw will keep the ice cream on the cone.

We were very happy with the performance against Man United and I feel that brings alot of confidence to the squad for our game against Kirkbride Strollers next Tuesday.

But first up are The Vikings and we are hoping to return what they did to us last month!"

Have Carthage won?

It is a daunting prospect, that a team can win a division with just over half the games played. Carthage may be right in their claim, however he has to tackle Dream Team and Arsenal away from home to take that trophy off of MrJames!!

Time will tell.

Reporter, Alex Gardner.

Champions Elect

Big K was to say the least slightly surprised with Blakey’s press realise today confirming themselves as champions elect whilst no one can argue with their awesome display’s of goal scoring and confidence this season the comment that “the competition is not up to scratch “ will not go down well with the other managers.Big K’s own view on the tile is that there are plenty of points up for grabs and good teams like Arsenal and Dream Team will not throw in the towel lightly and Carthage only need to hit a bad spell and the chasing pack will soon be on there heels. Commenting on Friday’s game against Carthage big K knows it will be a Herculean task to get anything from the game but then again we did take the honours in the last meeting so maybe it’s banana skin time !!!!!!!!

Snide Remarks

'Bonkers are a great team, shame about the manager, he doesn't have the bottle to match his teams skill.''Wainman is past his sell by date, I wouldn't be suprised if he retired soon.''Rosbottom is on fire, he will destroy any defence I play him against.''Bonkers may be scoring, but they won't get past my strong defence, of balanced youngsters and seasoned oldies. Bonkers will be no threat.'

Surely everybody knows the game of the season is coming up. The match to end all matches, and what will be a true test of both managers credentials.
RM Invitational proudly presents:

Praise For Howemiester

HH came out of The Capital Wasteland today with praise for not only his team, but his counterpart and managerial rival: Howemiester.'My team were great today, against the worst team in the league we ran out 6-0 winners. We could afford to relax in the 2nd half because of the great job my boys have done, Rosbottom has been my personal Man Of The Match, but all the players played their part. I am now looking at keeping up some form on my players and getting them ready for our run-in. Howemiester has my respect, he tried a gutsy approach in trying to create a strong young team, in my opinion Howemiester is my manager of the season for having a will of iron and a heart of steel. He will no doubt turn out to be a top-class manager if he stays in the RM Invitational.'

Carthage FC declare themselves champions

Carthage FC have boldly declared themselves champions of Division 3 with still plenty of games still to play. Blakey0500 amazingly claimed that all of the competition simply are not upto scratch in order to catch Carthage FC.

Promotion is virtually guarenteed largely thanks to Carthage's 100% home record with a fantastic 8/8 wins at home.

Blakey0500 has marked in his calender 'Trophy Day'.

another good win and game

What a game. The new signing is showing more than his worth. That is 6 goals in three games. And bought for only a few coins in the pocket as well. Who could ask for more. The next game is pretty easy as well so the team is buzzing with excitement. The only hope is that the following teams in the league can start slipping up and fall a few points behind. That would give a few points cushion for a team that can blow a little cold now and then. Like the name says, BONKERS!

Arsenal loss leading goal scorer!

Arsenal lost their main striker who is currently the highest scorer in the league to injury early on.

Arsenal manager Brown is abit disappointed that they lost 1-0 considering both teams only had one shot on goal.

"We knew it would be tough against Wiltshire, but to lose in the manner we did was hard to take, we took to massive injurys in that game and it was hard for us to recover"

Brown is left wondering why a team like Wiltshire do not sit higher in the league, they are still 3rd and remain on track for the projected top 5 finish this season.

Meeblind Meets Media

Manager Robin Meeblind caught up with the club website after their recent victory over ThunderCats F.C.

Goals from Shirsh Vajpayee and Pierre van Diemen gave the Dutch side a deserved 2-0 win in a game which lifted the spirits of the fans who have suffered a troubled campaign with defeats and injuries.

“It’s true that it hasn’t been an easy time,” began the manager.

“We’ve had a difficult season. We have worked hard in the transfer market only to suffer misfortune with injuries. This has therefore had a negative effect on our playing performances and obviously results have not been as we expect.

“It is fair to say, though, that this was our best performance for some considerable time. We were playing the best side over the past two seasons and I think we thoroughly deserved the points. We have that potential when we have a full squad and with the Shuttle due back tomorrow that is what we will have.

“That said, we have a lot of hard work to come if we want to avoid relegation. There are some good sides down there and they don’t care about reputations.

“If we can finish mid-table this season, enjoy a half-decent change report then hopefully we can see a brighter future.”

Fred Rizzo reassures fans

Real Madrid FC manager, Fred Rizzo issued a statement on the club's official website explaining the team's current situation.

"Unfortunately, I have had to take care of some urgent personal issues and could not concentrate 100% on the club. I now return fully focused and together we will try to salvage the remainder of this season and end in a respectable position."

Totaal Prove Top Cats

Totaalvoetbal opened up the championship race while boosting their own survival hopes with a 2-0 away win at ThunderCats F.C. In a solid first-half performance they would take the lead with the opening chance of the game. An excellent header by Shirsh Vajpayee beat Magro after a telling cross from willing forward Ike Dyer. Pierre van Diemen might have made it 2-0 on 39 minutes but his shot hit the post however he wouldn’t be denied his goal and a well-placed header on the stroke of half-time gave Totaal a 2-0 lead. The second-half saw Totaal sit in content with the lead they had. ThunderCats would force a couple of late chances but Carlos Partini shot well-wide and Jake Sephton couldn’t keep a header down as the champions slipped to defeat. Despite the defeat they remain at the head of the table by a point but Meelas will demand a response as his side travel to Greatness in their next match. Robin Meeblind, meanwhile, was delighted with the performance saying it ‘was their best for some considerable time.’ However, he did add that there ‘was still a lot of hard work to come’ if they want to avoid relegation.

West Brom Strollers took advantage of the leaders’ slip with a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Yorkshires Amateurs. A Lee Hughes strike gave them a second minute lead and they would never look back after Scott Carson denied Fred Franklin at the other end. Bobby Taylor’s lobbed header made it 2-0 on 21 minutes and only a quality save from Bicanco stopped Tony Brown from making it 3-0 with a header on 39 minutes. The third did arrive at the beginning of the second-half as Billy Bassett finished with some aplomb and Hughes probably should have done better with a header just after the hour. Taylor did force Bicanco into a fine save after hitting a lovely driving shot but the fourth goal would finally arrive when Bryan Robson headed in powerfully on 81 minutes. The win will have pleased Dinky as his side looks to keep the pressure at the head of the table and with a home match against Milan next they will be hopeful of another three points. Danlufc13 will already be planning for life in Division One as his side fell 13 points behind the safety mark but the coach will be determined that his side come back stronger after a troubled campaign.

New York City kept up their hopes of a first RM Invitational crown with a 1-0 home victory over F.C. Greatness. City saw Eugene Kameni Idriss go close with a free-kick before Fabian Ostgard volleyed wide at the other end. Greatness continued to pose an early threat but Arnaldo Sifredi lobbed hopelessly over and this seemed to affect their confidence. A well-placed header by Shinosuke Isimaru would give City a half-time advantage after leaving Rachao helpless in goal. Idriss had an early free-kick effort after the break but couldn’t hit the target and a header by Elvis MacCaran suffered the same fate. City continued to press but Scott Flynn also missed the target with a volley and a late power shot by MacCaran proved easy for Rachao. Greatness thought they had levelled with a late Faust Baronchelli header but the goal was disallowed for handball and the points belonged to the home side. City now sit just five points behind the top spot and if they can take advantage of a match against the Amateurs on Tuesday may close the gap still further. Darrencalvert cut a frustrated figure at full-time and snapped that he ‘thinks this game is stupid.’

AFC Stanley remained five points behind as they were beaten 3-1 at Santos FC. A diving header by Rogerio Franca needed saving by Hessbo before a 10th minute header by Adriano Ribeiro proved too good for the ‘keeper to give Santos a 1-0 lead. Ribeiro would nearly add a second but saw his looped header hit the bar before wasting another headed opportunity minutes later. Patricio Bento missed a side-footed effort as the pressure continued to build and Ribeiro eventually made it 2-0 with a well-executed finish. Ribeiro would try to score his hat-trick goal but blasted over from a tight angle before Julien Motson amazingly halved the deficit with a clinical strike at the other end. Alan Martindale missed the chance to level the game for Stanley and Patricio Bento nearly made it 3-1 but saw his powerful header hit the bar. The second-half would prove much quieter but Santos would create two further chances. Asmar Golkas was unlucky when his chip hit the angle of post and bar but Bento would seal the game with an excellent header on 81 minutes. Sean7 spoke about this season being ‘less satisfying’ but added that he thought the future looked brighter and that they ‘are aiming for a top 3 finish.’ Remaining just five points behind Stanley still have a chance at the title but can ill afford any more defeats as the season reaches the business end.

Tranmere and Three Lions battled hard for a point each in a 1-1 draw at Prenton Park. Fernando Mella tried to give the Lions an early lead but was denied smartly by Sjolund in the home goal. Tranmere’s first effort came via a free-kick with Christiano Olias being very unfortunate as he hit the angle of post and bar. The Lions started the second-half brightly with Zlatan Izuhimovic forcing Sjolund into a save before a free-kick by the same player brushed the outside of the post. Rodrigo Possebon also had a near-miss with a powerful low shot and Tranmere responded. Adam Mlynarz demanded an excellent save from Casillas and the Lions would take full advantage. A brilliant long range shot by Cesc Izukas gave them the lead with just 13 minutes to go. Raymond Jillhed would have a response for the home side, though, with a clinical header which brought them level and they might have won the game late on. Christiano Olias’ free-kick needed saving by Casillas before Jillhed shot wide when well-placed. Baz will be content with his side’s mid-table place but will be keen to push on with a win or two to cement their place for next season. Izu was disappointed at failing to ‘keep the egg’ but will be more than happy with his side’s current position.

Hun Haters took advantage of an unorganised Milan side to triumph 6-1 and move out of the relegation zone. Alexandr Prohazska might have given the Haters a lead with a header before Victor Moses' long range lob put Milan 1-0 up on 18 minutes. Ted Caird was denied by Speroni as the visitors tried to get level and Milan might have made matters worse but Kaka put a free-kick over the bar. Iain Emery did level matters from distance for HH and a free-kick by Craig Elliston quickly had them in front. Kaka wasted another free-kick chance before the break and they would go in a goal behind. Emery doubled the visitors lead with an early second-half header and he then completed his hat-trick with a clinical strike in the penalty area. Elliston hit the post with a strike before hitting a free-kick at Speroni as HH tried to extend their lead. Don MacArthur finished a breakaway to make it 5-1 and Ashton Crosby nearly made it six but missed his steered shot. Caird did manage to direct in their sixth and although Elliston missed a chance to make it 7-1 the visitors were worthy winners. Celticchris now has his side looking at mid-table and they can make that reality if they can defeat Tranmere in their next match. With MarkieRich absent things are looking bleak for Milan and a trip to West Brom Strollers will not be something the fans will relish at the moment.

Crouch Gives Vikings Big Win

The Vikings won an important clash with Kensington Boys Club to move back into the top three and into the thick of the promotion race. The Vikings would net from their very first chance as Colin Crouch curled in a beautiful long range shot to give them a 17th minute lead. Justin Portway narrowly failed to make it 2-0 with a header before Alfie Whitley had KBC’s first chance but his header was easily held by Raasch. Raasch then made a more theatrical save to deny Aubrey de Vere’s lob and the score would remain 0-1 at half-time. Niles Worthington thought he had put KBC level but the goal was disallowed for offside before their woes got worse with the sending-off of de Vere for simulation. The Vikings would hold the upper hand for the remainder of the game with Justin Portway hitting home a half-volley for the second goal before he flicked a header over in injury-time. It wasn’t to matter, though, as The Vikings recorded an important three points after Eaglesrjh had openly admitted that he ‘only thought a draw was likely.’ Patrik’s KBC are still handily placed but their next match against Kirkbride now takes on added importance.

Manchester United remained on top but they had to battle hard to defeat a much-improved Reggae Reggae Sauce 2-1 at Sauce Bottle Arena. Indeed, the home side might have taken an early lead but Stefano Counago’s shot struck a post and the visitors survived. United had their first chance on 25 minutes but Aisha Abdul-Malik headed off-target. The home side immediately responded with a Fernando Ronaldo header but it failed to test the ‘keeper and they would fall behind to a brilliant Cristiano Ronaldo free-kick at the other end. Sauce responded well at the start of the second-half and levelled through an excellently placed header by Timotei Orasan. United responded well to this setback, though, and Karim Benzema re-established their lead with a fine header while he was unlucky not to make it 3-1 as his low shot struck a post. Benzema was on fire at this point and hit another shot wide as did Abdul-Malik as the pressure increased. Taylor then had to be on hand to save from a Ronaldo header but Sauce did try and respond with an Orasan volley which needed saving. United might have added a third in injury-time but Gibson shot straight at Taylor although it ultimately wouldn’t matter to the result. United enjoy a four point lead at the head of the table and keep grinding out excellent results. Xpertelevener will surely be heartened by this display after admitting they have ‘been very poor recently.’

Villarreal CF sit in second spot after a confident 5-0 home victory over St Omer. Jonathan Boulding opened the scoring on five minutes with an opportunist toe-poke finish. Cony Tottee then made matters worse for the visitors by putting through his own goal a minute later and Postdam Erplatz then had an effort saved as the pressure continued. Johnny Douglas had lobbed over before Bernardo Almeida scored the third goal from the penalty spot on 19 minutes. Joe Radley gave Omer some brief respite but his chip went over and it was 4-0 thanks to a header from Douglas. The fifth arrived courtesy of Erplatz with a cool finish when one-on-one and that completed a super first-half performance by the promotion hopefuls. The second-half was a non-event as Omer battled hard to make sure the score would remain the same. Cony Tottee will have been pleased with this response after a difficult first-half and they will be even happier to see the change report looming on the horizon. Cathal, meanwhile, admits his side ‘are definite contenders for promotion’ but admitted that ‘it will be hard to get any sort of result’ out of their match with United.

Kirkbride Strollers dropped out of the top three as they were defeated 1-0 at AJ Rovers. The first-half was an incredibly tight affair with no chances of note but proved an intriguing battle nevertheless. The game would open up after the break and Morgan Deane gave Rovers a priceless lead from the penalty spot on 54 minutes. The Strollers saw Mike Bell have an effort stopped by Morell before El Lapinho’s cheeky back-heel went over the bar. Daniel Tabaranu was unfortunate not to extend the home side’s advantage but his lob smacked off the angle of post and bar and the game remained in the balance. The Strollers had one final chance to pinch a point but El Lapinho put his shot wide and the points belonged to Rovers. The win takes Rothion’s side to within three points of the top three and they remain a threat in the race for RMI football. Jazza’s side won’t want to dwell on this defeat as the important matches keep coming with a home match against KBC on Tuesday.

Belly Tubbies put in another defensive master-class as they defeated Pahang United 1-0 at Padang MPK. Fitzsimmons was called into early action for the visitors but he saved comfortably from Jeremias Lindeman. The Tubbies then had an effort through William Ralph Dean but his header was punched away before a lob by Kilian Strongbow went over the bar at the other end. The second-half proved tight with an excellent save by Fitzsimmons from a powerful low shot by Rano Pantow keeping the score level. The Tubbies would then take advantage as Dean clinically finished on 89 minutes to give them a massive three points. Fitzy’s side are now out of the relegation zone and if Fitzsimmons remains in such brilliant form between the sticks the only way might be up from now until the end of the season. MrT sees his Pahang side sit just five points above the drop zone and will be keen to pick up a quick win or two to settle any nerves.

FC Flying Dog had an excellent 3-0 home win over PSV Eindhoven but then suffered disappointment with the resignation of Tivvymike. Remigiusz Smoczek gave them an excellent start with a clinical strike in the penalty area on five minutes and only Loki Weston prevented Clint Dickson from making it 2-0 with a lob header. PSV tried to strike back at the start of the second-half but Xabi Alonso’s lob was saved and a toe-poke by Stan Collymore at the other end made it 2-0. Ljubisa Novak narrowly failed in making it 3-0 before a header by Rene Maslovsky was saved as PSV kept plugging away. Thorvald Faste chipped in number three on 89 minutes as Dog kept searching for more goals. Maslovsky and Collymore would miss late chances for their respective teams and it would be Flying Dog who would come away with three important points. They now sit five points above the drop zone but will hope to make a good appointment following the disappointment of losing Tivvy. Kadri is ‘now back’ after attending to other matters and promised that they will ‘get back to the level we can play at.’

Kings Reign Over Futsal

Los Samgeles Kings produced a solid away performance to pick up a priceless three points in a 2-1 victory at Futsal. They had early chances with an Alexander Frolov lob being punched away by Heckingbottom before Dustin Brown’s diving header hit a post. Despite this it would be the home side who would notch first as Robin Barratt powered home an 18th minutes header to put them 1-0 up. Frolov tried to level but put a lob over the bar and the Kings would remain behind at the break. An early powerful strike by Derek Armstrong needed saving by Heckingbottom but it wouldn’t be long before the Kings got themselves back to parity; Torben Kummel curling home a 49th minute free-kick. Futsal hit back but Freddy Kennedy was denied by a good reflex save by Ersberg while Dustin Brown was denied at the other end. Kennedy had a headed chance but was again denied by Ersberg and the Kings would take advantage with Frolov finishing a breakaway move with some aplomb. The win was massive for Stripy’s Kings as it keeps them just a point from safety and also brings two or three other sides into the relegation equation. Jake will have been disappointed with the loss and with his side now four points adrift things are starting to look very difficult for Futsal.

Cressex kept their heads above water by taking advantage of a home match against Norfolk in a 6-0 win. They had put the game to bed early as a header by Tomas Tiribocchi and a looping header by Lauro Poggi put them 2-0 up after three minutes. Pietro Grimaldi lobbed a shot over and a flick header by Douglas Wallberg hit a post as the chances kept coming. Wallberg would suffer further woodwork pain as he placed a header onto the crossbar but the side did find their third goal with Tiribocchi flicking home an 11th minute header. Emil Rojas was the next to try his luck but his power shot was saved by Olausson who then produced some brilliance to deny Grimaldi’s header. He would have an easier time from a tame side-footed shot by Tiribocchi before Grimaldi made it 4-0 with a well-placed shot from a breakaway. Grimaldi would soon make it 5-0 with a brilliant lob from distance but Rojas couldn’t add to the score as he headed over. Cressex would add a sixth before the break with Wallberg placing a header beyond Olausson. This left Norfolk facing the likelihood of being beaten by double figures but they came out and put in a spirited second-half display which produced no chances for either side and allowed them to escape without further damage. The win was vital for Villan_RAS’s side and they will be keen to make it back-to-back wins but face a massive task against Bonkers on Tuesday. Howemiester will be keen to keep boosting his side’s form ahead of the all-important change report and won’t be worrying too much about such defeats.

At the other end of the table Bonkers maintained their smooth progress with a 1-0 away win at Juventus. Bonkers would edge the first-half proceedings but Stefan Beelenkamp put a lob over the bar before Philip Calderwood suffered the same problem from a powerful strike on goal. The second-half saw Juventus come into the contest and an early free-kick by Mairthin Foley saw Hawke have to make a leg save. Foley demanded more excellence from Hawke with a precise header before a powerfully curled shot by Alberto Morante went wide of the target. Bonkers would make Juve pay for missed chances as Beelenkamp hit home an 88th minute free-kick to deliver three crucial points as they chase the championship crown. GarethLloyd will know the need to keep winning as the sides around him don’t look like giving up the chase any time soon. SuperJuve will have seen this defeat as a blow to his side’s hopes but with just six points separating them from third spot they will know it’s still all to play for.

White Hawk were able to keep the gap between them and Bonkers to just two points as they put in a resolute performance to defeat Kroklund Kings 2-1 at Dont know yet stadium. Hawk would take a 10th minute lead as Adan Donahue chipped home following a corner but the lead would last just one minute; Aatu Vuokki heading in clinically from a Curt Elliott cross. Elliott would then put a diving header over before Dean Kouakou restored the visitor’s lead with an excellent flick header. The Kings would see Elliott hit a post as they tried to level once more but they would go into the break a goal behind. Tero Perotie thought he had levelled for the hosts but was ultimately disappointed with a dubious offside call. Both sides had a late chance each as Vuokki brought a fine save out of Dankoi with a precise header while Kangashaka had to be alert to keep out his team-mate Tapani Visavuori’s misdirected kick at the other end. In the end it would be a vital three points for Hooraymee’s side as they attempt to secure promotion while also challenging for the league title. Bossebong knows his side still have work to do to keep the side in the division for another season as only three points separate them from the Los Samgeles Kings in the relegation zone.

These Charming Men put in a strong home performance to keep themselves in the thick of the title battle as they defeated Real Madrid 1-0 at Irregulars Arena. Stuart Cooksey nearly gave them a dream start as his powerful header struck wood but it wouldn’t take too long before they did hit the front. Lientur Rial would be the scorer as he powered in a long range strike on 14 minutes to put the hosts 1-0 ahead. A free-kick by Jorge Carril forced Nersesian into a save as TCM continued their first-half dominance and they would go in with their 1-0 lead intact. The second-half was a more even contest. Kevin Gabriele’s powerful long range shot threatened to bring the visitors level but Avellino made a good save and TCM might have added to their lead at the other end. Carril would hit a post with another brilliant free-kick effort but it wouldn’t matter as TCM held on for a 1-0 victory. TCM News called the result ‘a much needed home win’ and declared their manager would ‘be ensuring his team train hard’ to keep in touch with the top three. FredRizzo’s attention looks to be at the foot of the table as his side sit four points above the drop zone and they face a massive home match against Juventus on Tuesday.

Carbonmonoxide’s first match in charge of the revamped Bill Murray FC ended in a 0-0 draw at home to The Lone Wanderers. The hosts saw Robbie Fowler put a tame shot straight at Ibehre early on while Mart Rosbottom was denied by Hiller at the other end. Arsim Kule had a further chance for the visitors but could only steer his shot over the bar. The second-half saw the contest remain even with William MacAvish forcing Hiller into a smart stop while a Shmuel Peha header nearly won it for the home side but it missed the goal by inches. Ultimately the game would end goalless with CM telling press that he ‘expects some big performances over the rest of the season’ from his new side. Meanwhile, HH still has his side in the right place at the head of the table and with just five points between them and first the end of the season promises to be an exciting one for the club.

Alsancak Amaze at Alley

Alsancak claimed only their second win of the season but an impressive one it was as they saw off Wiltshire 3-2 at Mosquito Alley. A lob header by Gabriel Agbonlahor gave the youngsters a wonderful start on six minutes. This seemed to fill him with confidence and he quickly added a second with a more direct header from a corner. In keeping with the explosive start the WW struck back quickly with a header of their own from Wesley Bird to halve the deficit. The aerial bombardment continued but Wayne Butters was denied by Hogg to keep the Warriors within one. The Warriors tried to level but Robert Merson couldn’t keep his shot down and they were then reduced to 10-men following some brutal play by Bird. They defied this to have a free-kick by Bob Lake smash against the crossbar but they went into the sheds a goal behind. Lake had the opening chance of the second-half from a free-kick but would make this one count by rifling home to level proceedings. Jack Balshaw nearly handed the initiative straight back to Alsancak but fortunately his ‘keeper was well-placed to stop his misdirected kick. As the game continued to ebb-and-flow the Warriors saw Liran Chaim miss the goal with a strike before the decisive moment came at the other end. A beautiful lob by Wayne Butters eluded Hogg in goal and put Alsancak ahead for the third time. Richard Stearman might have extended the advantage but saw his shot hit a post before Agbonlahor had an effort chalked off for offside. Nevertheless they had done enough to secure the three points which will give their fans a boost. While the win does not lift them from the bottom of the table there is clear evidence that Wienersnitzel is progressing his young side. The Warriors are three points off the promotion pace and the word coming out of Warriors News is that the defeat was blamed on Bird’s red-card with a ‘one more strike and you’re out’ warning being given to the midfielder.

Carthage put in an outstanding performance to leave wortley well-beaten 5-1 at Carthage City. Carthage struck first with an excellent volley by Marcus Spillane finding the net and the same player might have made it two but his header went just over. This would prove the last chance of the opening half but the second 45 minutes would more than make up for it. The visitors would sting the home side when Quincy Bowey mishit his shot beyond Aurelius for the equalising goal. The ‘keeper was alert enough to make a save from a Bowey diving header moments later and the home side would then find a response. Amin Mansourian lobbed into the crossbar before Quincy Lansbury put them back in front with a calm side-footed finish. Mansourian did get his goal when he netted from distance on 67 minutes before Bowey missed a chance to bring wortley back into it at the other end. Marcus Spillane had a free-kick saved by Jenning before a cool strike in the penalty area by Nicholas Crowe put the hosts 4-1 up. Aurelius stayed alert to deny Bowey once more before Spillane put the icing on the cake with an excellent header to make it 5-1. Blakey’s side keep their five point lead at the top and seem confident with the manager adding ‘I think that’s promotion sorted.’ Thegreatlordbags may be seeing his side’s promotion hopes slip away as they are now seven points adrift of DT who occupy the final spot and if they do miss out it will be defensive deficiencies that have proved fatal.

Arsenal took advantage of a disorientated The Champs side as they defeated them 2-0 at The Emirates. Arsenal dominated the first-half and saw Samir Nasri hit the angle of post and bar as they sought an early lead. Sid Peyton would then try to chip the ball over Irving but the ‘keeper was more than the equal to it as he tipped over. Robin van Persie was the next to try his luck but his header brushed the post and a low shot by William Gallas struck a post as the score remained 0-0 at half-time. The second-half saw much of the same with Andrey Arshavin striking the bar with a superb free-kick. Irving was then alert to punch away a Nasri drive before van Persie saw his header blocked. It would take a slice of fortune to give Arsenal the lead as van Persie mishit his shot beyond Irving but it was nothing more than they deserved. Bruce Collinge nearly stunned the hosts with an immediate equaliser but it was disallowed for a foul and then The Champs troubles worsened as Robert Hammevik went off injured and Wylie had neglected to name any substitutes. Theo Walcott duly made it 2-0 with a fine header and this sealed a comfortable victory. DomBrown was already concentrating on the next game in his press conference as he said the Warriors are ‘a really good team’ and they therefore ‘expect a tough match.’ They will go into it with confidence as they sit in second place just five points back of Carthage. The Champs are seemingly out-of-form at the moment and they cannot afford many more slip-ups as not naming subs if they are to push for promotion.

The Glory Hornets returned to form with an excellent 3-0 home victory over promotion chasing Dream Team. An early diving header by Lionel Monk flew over the bar before Warren Dillin shot wide at the other end. The opening goal wasn’t far away, however, as Paolo Ballotta headed in for the hosts on 14 minutes. A shot from Wallace Baker on 23 minutes crashed into the post before the second goal arrived courtesy of Ballotta once more with a fine header. The second-half saw just one more chance but it was enough for Toma Popadic to make it 3-0 with a brilliantly curled long range shot. It was an excellent performance by GregPerkins’ side and if they can put a run together in this kind of form they might still force a late challenge for a top three spot. Meanwhile, MrJames blamed himself for the loss due to ‘forgetting to set tactics.’

Spartans kept up their recent improvement with a 3-0 win at Grey Area as both sides decided to play without the back-up of substitutes. A powerful shot in the third minute by Sergio Aguero gave the visitors the lead while Allan Bound put a shot over at the other end as Area looked to strike back. A diving heard by Xavi Hernandez duly made it 2-0 before the break and the visitors went in with a confident swagger about them. Area would suffer an injury at the start of the second-half but Diego Maradona might have equalised with a diving header which he put wide. Geoffrey Stiles then hit a powerful shot which was saved by Neuer before Kerrigan produced a decent save of his own at the other end to deny Aiden McGeady’s chip. The third goal did arrive for Spartans as Wesley Sneijder flicked a header home. Area suffered another injury this time to Sidney Motter and Bojan Krkic might have made it 4-0 if he had shown a bit more assurance in front of goal. Maradona had a late header for the hosts but put it wide in a disappointing display. Trecool will be looking at which players he will be keeping for next season and after this display there might not be many who survive the cull. Tomsayshii will be doing likewise at Spartans but will want to keep a closer order on things to keep the form up in the build-up to the change.

Morley Town were involved in their second successive 0-0 draw as Chester United made the trip to Scatcherd Park. Zacharias Ashe was unlucky not to score for Morley early on but his volley smashed the bar and went safe. Chester were another side on the day who went in without substitutes but they may have taken the lead before the break as Neo Routhledge demanded a brilliant save from Zubeldia with a fine header. Ashe brushed the outside of the post with a header of his own before putting another one wide as Morley struggled in front of goal. Routhledge would also shoot wide as the game struggled to come alive. Chester were lucky not to be punished for their lack of subs as a Niko Tervola injury saw them play the remainder of the game with 10-men. They did survive, though, and Jimbob will be satisfied with a point as he continues with his first steps in RMI management. Leeg21 will want to add goals to his side quickly as their defensive efforts match up with the best the division has to offer.

Back Again

After spending the week in Preston for business. PSV Eindhoven manager is now back. I had very limited access to the internet while I was away and subsequently (especially at this level) your team suffers. We will now focus again and get back to the level we can play at.

Santos Strikeforce MIA

The last season had Santos getting high like paper planes, but their sophomore campaign has been lacklustre, with a current standing of 7th in a very tough season. Last season, the goals were pouring, but more were pouring in for the opposition. This season, while the defence has improved, the strikeforce has resembled Fantastic Four’s Sue Richards: nowhere to be seen.

It is strange indeed, that the two top scorers in the league from last season, golden boot winner Torbjörn Alshammar and Adriano Ribero, have combined for a paltry 8 goals in 18 matches together. Alshammar’s form has been somewhat of a mystery..speculation has surrounded the prolific scorer, from the stress on the pitch to deliver, to his shooting boots giving him injury problems, to unrealistic wage demands from his agent..

Nevertheless, manager Sean7 is more optimistic of the team’s chances ahead.‘Certainly, after last season, this campaign has been less satisfying. Now we are about developing the youth players, our midfield in particular is looking strong..Franca is proving to be a future superstar, Ferrari is a driving force box to box, and Raffaelli has certainly impressed. As for the strikers..well, no one's starting place is safe anymore, that's all I'll say. We are currently mid-table, but we are aiming for a top 3 finish.’

Villarreal Success Expected To End!

Villarreal have won 19 out of a possible 21 points in their last 7 games in Division 1 having not conceded for 6 games. The last time they conceded was against their next opponents, Manchester United when Villarreal defeated them 3-2.

This time around though Man U are expected to triumph against the season's surprise package.

"I am very happy with the performance we have been putting in lately and now that we are 2nd I still think that we are definite contendors for promotion. We may not be favourites to win promotion but we will give it our best shot. A few weeks ago I was confident with this trip to Manchester but now I think that we will be definite underdogs. Their form lately had been brilliant and it will be hard to get any sort of result out of Tuesday's game."

Three Lions gain and lose egg

A 1-0 win over Santos FC earlier this week handed Three Lions FC the coveted fried-egg-on-the-thermometer which signifies 5 wins in a row, but the Whites lost it on just the next gameweek as they drew 1-1 away to Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park.

"We tried our best but we failed to keep the egg. Excuse me while I go to the washroom," said Izuka in an interview with reporters earlier today. He then left to go to the washroom and stayed there for a solid hour.

TCM get the Real win

After losing to the league leaders Bonkers with the last kick of the game, TCM regrouped and got a much needed 1-0 home win against Real Madrid FC.

A 14th minute long range stunner from Lientur Rial was enough to ensure TCM got the much needed victory.

With Los Samgeles Kings coming up next, RDCM will be ensuring his team train hard as a loss could see the top 3 start to pull away.

Arsenal move up to second

Arsenal picked up another win which saw them move up to 2nd place. They next face Wiltshire Warriors, manager Brown stated "they are a really good team and we fully expect a tough match"

Bill Murray starts with a draw

Carbonmonoxide has taken over management of rebranded team Bill Murray FC - the clubs fans insisted that the team be named after the voice of garfield and their ghostbusting hero and that a statue be erected in his honour.

On the pitch the team got of to a modest start with a 0-0 draw but the new manager expects big things from his team in the next few weeks. He told the press "there are some great players here and we aren't in a bad position in the league, I demand and expect some big performances over the rest of the season"

On Your Bike

Big K was fuming tonight with Wesley Bird one of his most influential players for getting Red carded for the second time this season this cost us 3 points against a very young and inexperienced Alsancak side who on paper should have been there for the taking but loosing Bird after a mere 33 minutes gave them the encouragement to carve out a very good win.

Big K has told Bird that one more Red card and no matter how important he his to the team ( when on the pitch ) he will be on his bike !!!!!!!

The Vikings 0 - 0 AJ Rovers

Viking Land News

Bore draw leaves Vikings uninspired!

A goalless draw at home with AJ Rovers was not what the doctor ordered as the Vikings continue to be in a bit of a slump.

The game actually started brightly. AJ Rovers had a chance as early as the 1st minute but Robers' toe poke was easy for Raasch. More troubles for the Vikings next as playmaker Gourmas was taken off with a serious injury. Portway then had what was to become the Vikings only chance in the 21st minute but the Rovers keeper made the save. 0-0 half time, 1 chance each.

The second half was all about 2 freekicks. both to Rovers but Vickerman sent the 49th minute one over and the 74th minute one wide. rovers then suffered an injury to Simon before Papakostas picked up a needless yellow card that will keep him out of the next game. 0-0 full time.

Eaglesrjh had this to say after the game.

"ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, is it over yet? I dozed off, boring boring game and we must do better next up"

Elvis Shakes Dutch

Totaalvoetbal slipped to another defeat as pressure on manager Robin Meeblind grew with his side slipping perilously close to the relegation zone. It might have been a different story had Cal Beardsley made more of an early half-volley or Pierre van Diemen had struck a shot on goal more accurately but as it turned out they were chasing the game from the 18th minute. A free-kick was tapped to Elvis MacCaran and he ripped the ball into the net for the opening goal.

Totaal should still have had parity at the break but van Diemen hit a penalty hopelessly to give New York a let-off and allowed them to keep their one goal lead intact.

The visitors were then shut-out during the second-half and New York might have scored through a Benjamin Folan volley before a penalty by MacCaran did double the lead.

The home side confidently played out the remainder of the game and left Totaal nervously looking over their shoulder at a relegation battle which has arrived on their doorstep.

Meeblind was obviously concerned:

"To be honest we haven't played too badly today considering certain factors," he began.

"However, the end result is no points and we are in a real battle for survival."

Man Utd under 12's set to play RRS

Xpertelevener started his press conference with "Can you believe how bad we've been recently?" This just about sums up Reggae Reggae Sauce's latest run, with their latest game seeing them defeated to St. Omar, the worst side in the division.

"Great isn't it? How you've just been beated by the worst team in the division then you have to host the top of the league." Says a disapointed Xpertelevener.

"I among many other people wouldn't like to put a bet on us tonight, or indeed any game. We have been very poor recently. I think a lot of people don't see the point of Man Utd making the long trip to wherever the Sauce Bottle Arena is but they have to come and pick their 3 points up, we can't post them the points."

The press statement shows the lack of confidence that Xpertelevener has in the squad and the press conference eventually took place with only xpertelevener and the press as Sauce supported were kicked out for their postests, determined to have Xpertelevener sacked!

Thunder to Strike Twice?

The top of the table clash at Garden Street saw ThunderCats demonstrate their champion quality to leave AFC Stanley beaten 3-0. The visitors would put in a devastating first-half display which left Stanley chasing the game. ThunderCats looked dangerous from their very first attack as Nelson Queimado struck a post with a powerful header. The lead would come on 12 minutes courtesy of a stunning strike from a tight angle by Paulino Ornelas which left Hessbo motionless. A breakaway on 20 minutes saw the visitors double their advantage with Fabricio Cidade placing the ball home nicely and they might have added a third before the break but Queimado couldn’t direct his header accurately enough. An injury to Thorbjorn Lind didn’t help the hosts after the break but a free-kick by Matts Wallman might have given them a route back in but his effort lacked accuracy. The ThunderCats then reasserted themselves with Jake Sephton driving just over before Cidade placed an effort wide. The third goal duly arrived courtesy of Johannes Ackesjo who produced a devastating header to put the game beyond Stanley. Leonardo Borja had a couple of late free-kick efforts go close as the visitors saw out time on a comfortable 3-0 victory. Despite the victory which saw his side go four points clear Meelas was demanding more from his forwards and added that he hopes ‘they work harder in the next match.’ With such a driving force behind them is it any wonder the champions have become such a feared foe? Markham was class as always following the defeat admitting that ‘ThunderCats tactics were spot on.’

F.C. Greatness caused West Brom Strollers problems once again as the league hopefuls fell four points behind ThunderCats following a 1-1 draw. Greatness made an excellent start with an opportunist toe-poke finding the net on seven minutes to stun the visitors. Tony Brown tried to overcome a tight angle on 32 minutes but found it too great an obstacle and a Fabio Cannavaro header might have doubled the pain but for some alert ‘keeping by Scott Carson. Both sides suffered injury problems during the first-half as well but it would be Greatness who would be the happier as they went in with a 1-0 lead. The Strollers emerged a much more focused unit in the second-half and Cyrille Regis showed his class in front of goal with a calm finish through the legs of Rachao to level matters. Derek Statham’s header needed saving late on while a free-kick by Faust Baronchelli at the other end was also well dealt with. The Strollers would have late chances either side of Paolo Serena’s red-card for Greatness but Richard Sneekes couldn’t make the most of his lob while a free-kick by Billy Bassett proved no problem for Rachao and the sides would go away with a point each. The point will be a welcome one for Darrencalvert and Greatness but they will be aware that a big battle to avoid the last relegation spot is brewing up below them. WBS News reported how well the promoted sides are doing and they will hope that there is still a fairytale ending for them. Meanwhile, Dinky has another important date on his hands and the league wishes him well for his wedding on Friday.

Three Lions defied a host of home chances for Santos to come away with three points in a 1-0 success at Estadio do Deus. Torbjorn Alshammar wasted an early free-kick chance before Fredrick Winnerljung was foiled by Casillas as the home side started the quicker of the two sides. The Lions would then enjoy a bit of fortune as they opened the scoring with Cristiano Izuldo hitting his shot so badly that it fooled Rodenas and ended up in the back of the net. Santos were quickly back on the front foot but Ray Goddard’s power shot went wide and another free-kick by Alshammar brought the best out of Casillas. A precise header by Asmar Golkas was also saved by Casillas while Robin van Izu wasted a free-kick at the other end. The second-half started with Santos once again on the front foot but a Winnerljung header was dealt with by Casillas before Patricio Bento also saw a shot blocked by the excellent ‘keeper. Alshammar would be unfortunate with a free-kick which struck a post before he repeated the dose on 68 minutes as the crowd sensed their luck was out. The Lions had some misfortune of their own, however, as van Izu hit the angle of post and bar with a splendid free-kick of his own. Santos had one final chance to rescue a point but Alshammar couldn’t produce with his final set-piece of the day and they slipped to a 1-0 defeat. Izuka keeps his side within six points of the leaders and he will undoubtedly be keeping an eye on the events unfolding above them while they first retain their top flight status for another season. Sean7 has seen his side slip into the relegation battle in recent weeks and he will be keen for a victory to ease the pressure which might be building on his players.

Tranmere continued their move clear of any trouble with an emphatic 4-0 home win over troubled AC Milan. An early free-kick by Jari Sjoholm went over the bar before Humphrey Biehn gifted the hosts the opener with a slack back header which defeated Speroni in his own goal. Sjoholm wasted another free-kick chance as he shot wide before he finally got it right on 17 minutes to double their advantage. The free-kicks kept coming and Raymond Jillhed was given a headed chance from one but Speroni comfortably gathered. Karsten Seibert lobbed well over before Sjoholm demanded excellence from Speroni from another set-piece. Speroni was on hand to save well from a Sandro Bucchi diving header and Milan were relieved to hear the half-time whistle moments later. The second-half brought much of the same with Jillhed heading wide early on. Marten Wessman did add number three with a clinical strike in the penalty area and a late powerful long range strike by Leroy Upson made it 4-0 on 88 minutes. There was still time for Sjoholm to have another free-kick effort but he couldn’t direct it on target and Tranmere had to settle for a 4-0 victory. Baz will be more than happy with how his side is progressing and with another home game on Friday he will be looking for his players to keep their form going. MarkieRich’s Milan look to be struggling for form and leadership at the moment and, sitting seven points adrift, they look nailed on for relegation.

Totaalvoetbal slipped deep into relegation trouble as New York City were the latest to beat them in a 2-0 victory for the home side. Totaal actually put in a good first-half performance and Cal Beardsley had an early half-volley saved by Sattler. Pierre van Diemen would also have a chance but shot wide before New York made them pay with the opening goal. A free-kick tapped to Elvis MacCaran resulted in the forward drilling past Rimmer to give them the lead. Even so Totaal should have equalised but van Diemen was off-colour from the penalty spot as he shot hopelessly off target. This would be their last chance of the half and they would go in a goal behind. An early volley by Benjamin Foran might have made matters worse for the visitors but he shot wide. It wasn’t long before they were 2-0 behind, though, as MacCaran succeeded where van Diemen had failed by thumping home a penalty. With the belief gone out of the visitors, New York comfortably saw out time on a deserved victory. Jimmy has navigated his side into fifth place and they look far too good to be embroiled in a relegation battle this term which will give the boss vital time to build an even brighter side for future seasons. Robin Meeblind admitted his side are in ‘a real battle’ for survival and with a trip to ThunderCats to come things are only going to become more difficult.

Hun Haters picked up a vital three points to close the gap on the teams above them as they defeated Yorkshires Amateurs 4-1 at The Thorp Arches. A lob from Dougie Gunn gave them an 11th minute lead and they always looked the stronger side. Gunn had a further effort saved before Andrew Potts had a free-kick tipped over at the other end. Micky Cox lobbed a header over for the Amateurs but they would go in a goal behind. HH had the first chance of the second-half as Craig Elliston forced Bicanco into a brilliant reflex stop and the Amateurs would take advantage by equalising through a Murray Davis penalty. HH responded well to this setback, though, and saw Ashton Crosby flick a header in to restore their lead. Jimmy Meire’s mishit shot was easily saved before the ‘keeper had to be alert once more to tip over from his own player Martin Vaclavik’s dangerous back header. Ted Caird did make good with a powerful long range strike to put the Haters 3-1 up and Meire completed a fine victory with a well-placed shot on 88 minutes. Celticchris’ side have bridged the gap to their nearest rivals now and they will look to take advantage of a game against Milan to move out of the relegation zone. Danlufc13 will probably focus on making his side competitive for future seasons once he returns to the hot-seat but for now the season looks sure to end in disappointment.

Strollers Marching On

Kirkbride Strollers eased to an impressive 4-0 home win over PSV Eindhoven to move into second place in the Division One table. A ninth minute diving header by El Lapinho sent them on their way as they outplayed the visitors. Xabi Alonso did have a lob skim the crossbar as the visitors attempted to hit back but a 27th minute penalty by Keith Ellison put them two goals behind and firmly up against it. Kees Splinter also got a lob wrong for PSV while Stephen Robinson had a free-kick effort saved at the other end by Reina. Robinson would test Reina again before the break but once more the ‘keeper was up to it and the score would remain 2-0. The second-half saw PSV lose Pepe Reina to a red-card and from that moment on there was only one side in it. Robinson put a lob over before El Lapinho made it 3-0 with a precise header. Malcolm Graham swiftly made it 4-0 with an excellent strike in the penalty area but Robinson met with more frustration from two set-pieces, both foiled by Loki Weston in goal. In truth it didn’t matter as Kirkbride eased to a 4-0 win and Jazza was in buoyant mood claiming his side ‘have plenty of goals’ in them so they can ‘look at catching Man Utd.’ Kadri won’t react to one poor performance in a season of uplifting ones and will focus on getting his side right for their next match; an important trip to FC Flying Dog.

Manchester United struck a crucial blow in the title race as they defeated Kensington Boys Club 3-2 at Kensington Grounds in a game full of chances. United would have the first one of the game but Cristiano Ronaldo disappointed from a set-piece and they paid the price as Charles Tilly headed in at the other end to give KBC a 1-0 advantage. Seymore MacRanald tried to lob in number two but Kuszczak made a fine save and it was soon level with Eric Cantona converting a penalty for United. Charles Tilly was the next to be denied by Kuszczak before the ‘keeper saved with his legs from a Maurice Jacobs diving header. Ronaldo missed another free-kick chance before Rafael da Silva had a powerful strike brilliantly turned round by Lorentzen. KBC were still creating chances of their own, though, and a super volley from Tilly was well-saved as the sides went in level. United would be the dominant force in the second-half with Ronaldo firing an early free-kick which needed saving by Lorentzen. A penalty by Seymore MacRanald would shock the leaders on 74 minutes to put KBC 2-1 up but United would respond. Ronaldo finally made a free-kick count on 80 minutes and a powerful header by Darren Gibson should have been more accurate as they searched for a winner. Gibson did make a better attempt with a strike on goal which brushed the post but it was left to Karim Benzema to score the winner with a clinical strike in the penalty area. Ronaldo would waste a further free-kick chance but United had the points in the bag to give themselves a four point advantage at the top. Pakya will know they cannot relax, though, as a bunch of teams have grouped behind them ready to capitalise if they should fail. KBC News bemoaned that ‘United had Ronaldo and sometimes that’s enough’ after a valiant effort came up just short. They are sure to remain in the mix, though, as they first celebrate manager Patrik’s wedding with the whole league wishing him all the very best.

Villarreal CF and Belly Tubbies battled out a 0-0 draw at Estadio El Madrigal in what was the visitors third goalless draw on the trot. The home side would have the first chance of the game as Claudio Moura headed wide. Kevin Ratcliffe would have a similar effort at the other end but Cecil Abrey made the save to keep the score level. Both sides would suffer injury problems in the opening half and it seemed to disrupt the rhythm as these would be the only two chances created in the first 45 minutes. Moura would have the first chance of the second-half also and would get his header on target this time only for Fitzsimmons to make the save. Meanwhile, at the other end William Ralph Dean got his shot all wrong when well-placed. The hosts would have a final chance to pinch the win but Rafaele Di Muri couldn’t direct his shot on target and the game would finish with both sides claiming a point. Cathal was pleasantly surprised to ‘still be third’ following the game and admitted that he is ‘still trying for promotion’ while juggling the ‘ME.’ Fitzy’s hopes will be to get out of the relegation zone with the same old story being lack of goals. This is seemingly the only thing stopping the side becoming a real force in the division.

The Vikings and AJ Rovers also battled out a 0-0 draw as both sides kept themselves in the promotion hunt at Viking Land. Rovers saw Leigh Roberts not really test Raasch early on before The Vikings were disrupted by an injury to Evstathios Gourmas. The home side did have a sight of goal through a Justin Portway shot but Darryl Moore made the stop and the game remained goalless at the break. Rovers would look the more likely after the break but Sonny Vickerman’s free-kick efforts couldn’t quite make the grade. His first one went just over before he thumped an effort wide as the game was destined to finish with both sides claiming a point. Rovers did suffer a late injury to Byron Simon but will have been happy with their point from a tough trip. Rothion has them four points behind the top three and if they can be a bit more free-flowing in front of goal they have every chance of gate-crashing the promotion party. Eaglesrjh called the game ‘an unexciting draw’ and admitted to having ‘striking dilemmas’ ahead of the next match. However, his side sit just a point behind and will have a major say in the race to come.

St Omer delighted everyone at Five Percent Stadium as they picked up their first three points of the season following a 2-1 success over Reggae Reggae Sauce. They started positively with Roberto da Luz heading in following a fifth minute corner and they remained on the attack as Dennis Bogarde went close with a lobbed effort. Sauce were looking disappointing and Omer might have made it 2-0 before the break but Joe Radley put too much on his chip and they had to be content with a one goal half-time lead. The visitors came into the contest in the second-half and had an early chance but John Part put his shot wide. Ruslan Gorlukovich made the visitors pay for this miss with a fine shot after a corner to double the advantage. Sauce did strike back quickly as Tyrone Barratt found an excellent finish from inside the penalty area. Both sides had a late chance but Dennis Bogarde missed for the hosts before Derick Maley came within inches of pinching a point on 88 minutes as he headed off the post with the ‘keeper beaten. ConyTottee was said to be ‘delighted’ with the win although he ‘isn’t expecting’ it to continue in upcoming games. However, this will serve as confirmation that they are on the right track. For RRS it continues to be a disappointing campaign and it looks certain to end in consecutive relegations after this ignominious defeat.

Pahang United picked up a victory in a home match against FC Flying Dog; edging out their visitors by a 2-1 score-line. The sides exchanged chances in the opening 25 minutes with Tom Hording heading at Wellens before Clint Dickson opened the scoring for the visitors with a long range shot. This lead might have been doubled but Arnold Atlee’s well-placed shot struck a post and Pahang got a new lease. Simun Klip powered in a shot just after the half-hour to equalise and the sides would remain that way until the break. Gerd Hirschauer got a header wrong on 48 minutes before Pahang hit the front for the first time with Holger Pfitzner heading home accurately on 50 minutes. The visitors saw Remigiusz Smoczek smack a crossbar as they attempted to get back into the game but Pahang also remained dangerous. Strongbow hit the crossbar himself at the other end with a fine header and both sides had a final chance each. Smoczek hit a lob just over and Strongbow also missed with a driving shot but wouldn’t be concerned as Pahang ran out 2-1 winners. MrT now has his side just five points off the promotion places and won’t be ruling anything out at this stage. Tivvymike has been busy in the transfer market of late and will be hopeful that these new players make their mark in the coming weeks to aid their efforts to stave off relegation.

Bonkers Win at Irregulars

Bonkers and These Charming Men were involved in a dramatic game at Irregulars Arena as the league leaders emerged 3-2 victors. Things didn’t start well for Bonkers, though, as a Tord Jakobson header had the hosts in front as early as the third minute. They did respond well to this setback with a Stefan Beelenkamp header being well-saved by Derksen in the home goal. Derksen could do nothing to prevent Oswald Rickers heading in on 18 minutes but the ‘keeper was relieved to see the assistant referee flagging for offside even if the call was somewhat dubious. Bonkers maintained the pressure and saw Beelenkamp have a free-kick saved by Derksen and they would go in a goal behind. The second-half started with Beelenkamp heading well over before finally making a chance count with a further header. Beelenkamp continued his assault with a free-kick blasted over while he placed a headed opportunity onto a post. Linus Streicher responded for the hosts with a header which went over before Beelenkamp was afforded another free-kick from which he made no mistake to put them 2-1 up. Shaun McFadden had an immediate response for the hosts with a clinical header to level at 2-2 and Stuart Cooksey saw a header saved as he looked to turn the game round. Ultimately, though, it would be Bonkers who would pinch the winner as Neo Clemence made the most of a 90th minute headed opportunity to give the visitors a 3-2 victory. GarethLloyd was pleased with victory against ‘a very good team’ and they move happily on in their unique way which looks like leading to a league title. RDCM was obviously disappointed with a ‘last minute winner’ but can take heart from a much improved performance against a side who had beaten them so convincingly a short while ago.

White Hawk ensured the pressure would remain on the leaders as they defeated Los Samgeles Kings 2-1 at Staples Center. The visitors put in a dominating first-half display, creating seven chances to the home side’s none. Adan Donahue got a lob all wrong as they began on the front foot while Ryan Dharmsingh shot straight at Ersberg. Dharmsingh would waste another chance minutes later before a free-kick by Donahue was well-claimed by the ‘keeper. Donahue would get his revenge moments later with a superbly struck set-piece which gave them a 1-0 lead although he couldn’t make it two as he wasted another chance moments later. Dharmsingh did make it 2-0 on 33 minutes as he placed a header beyond Ersberg and although Derek Armstrong had the ball in the net at the other end it was chalked off for a cruel offside decision. The second-half saw Hawk continue to be the superior side but Dharmsingh’s shot was saved and the home side would fight back. Armstrong found some redemption with a super header on 52 minutes but Michal Handzus couldn’t level with a shot six minutes later. Hawk attempted to re-establish their wo goal lead but Dharmsingh had one lob tipped over while another effort comfortably cleared the bar. Los Samgeles tried to level through Torben Kummel but he couldn’t test Dankoi and Hawk might have made it a 3-1 victory with the last chance of the game as Byron Somaroe cracked a half-volley off a post. Nevertheless a 2-1 win keeps them within two points of Bonkers and well-placed to take the title race down to the wire. Meanwhile, the Kings remain in trouble at the bottom of the table and they face a crucial match against Futsal on Friday.

Charlottenburg responded to a 3-0 home defeat to Kroklund Kings by sacking Wazza as manager. Kroklund put in an excellent display with Dead Two lobbing in the opener on 18 minutes. Curt Elliott forced Andre Abels into a save on 22 minutes before Sjunne Wenna made it 2-0 with an excellent header on 25 minutes. Robbie Fowler did try to respond for the hosts but his header went over and Tapani Visavuori completed the home side’s first-half misery by chipping in delightfully for the third on 42 minutes. Kroklund continued to look the more likely immediately after the break but Valio Kapiala saw his free-kick saved before Shmuel Peha had a rare effort at the other end but missed the goal comfortably. Peha did have a powerful strike late on but again couldn’t find the target and Charlottenburg succumbed to a routine 3-0 defeat. The win will have come as a relief to bossebong whose side are now six points clear of the relegation zone and look much more comfortable. Charlottenburg fans will have been delighted with the quick appointment after the game as Carbonmonoxide brings with him a reputation for taking sides up through the divisions.

Cressex and The Lone Wanderers combined for eight goals but it was the visitors who would emerge victorious to remain in the title picture. A first minute header by Stephen Julius gave the visitors a 1-0 advantage while Lauro Poggi fired wide in response at the other end. Cressex would have another chance via a Poggi free-kick but Ibehre made the save. Ibehre and his opposite number Stoker would be kept busy and they kept out Julius and Ghita Ahmataj respectively. Tryggvi Valsson was the next to try his luck but his effort wouldn’t find the target while Tomas Tiribocchi also put a header over as Cressex struggled to find an equaliser. Mark Rosbottom then made their pain worse by heading in number two for the visitors but the lead was quickly reduced. Poggi would finally make one of his chances count as he shot home after a corner but in keeping with a crazy game Rosbottom shot home for 3-1 to the visitors on 24. Tiribocchi swiftly responded with a clinical header for 2-3 while the Wanderers missed a chance through Arsim Kule while a William MacAvish shot was disallowed for offside. A free-kick by MacAvish needed saving but there was nothing Stoker could do about Rosbottom’s hat-trick header on 43 minutes which made it 4-2 to the visitors. The same player might have made it 5 but his lob went over and a breathless half came to a close. Albert Scully chipped over as the visitors looked to extend their lead but a power shot at the other end by Valsson put the game back in the melting pot at 3-4. Kule lobbed over again for Wanderers while Poggi did likewise before Boccaccini struck a post with a shot. A volley by Ahmataj also went over as Cressex’s opportunity passed them by. Rosbottom added his fourth of the game with an excellent header to put them 5-3 up and Ahmataj missed a diving header to complete a frustrating evening for the hosts. HH admitted that his side ‘are in a great position’ but was still trying to keep everyone’s feet on the ground by admitting they weren’t ‘aiming for anything more than a solid season.’ Cressex are still hovering above the drop zone but they will try and take the positive of scoring three goals against a tough defence.

Juventus kept up their recent scoring form with a 6-1 win at Norfolk. Alberto Morante headed in well after a minute to signal the worst for Norfolk but they produced an inspired spell in the following minutes. Evgeny Kuryanov had a headed attempt before Norfolk got the chance to equalise from the spot; Trevor Fazackerley making no mistake with their first goal of the season. Claude Blanquet ensured the home fans wouldn’t be celebrating for long, though, as he shot home in the penalty area on 13 minutes to restore the visitors lead before Orlan Canito followed suit but was clearly offside. Mairthin Foley had a header saved before a mishit shot by Canito did make it 3-1 on 19 minutes to give Juventus some breathing space. The chances kept coming and Blanquet had a looping header go over before he made better use of his next headed chance to make it 4-1 on 23 minutes. Obadele Eliakwu side-footed a shot wide a minute later and he was unlucky to hit the crossbar with a flicked header on 32. Canito would make it 5-1 a minute later, though, as he finished clinically in the area and although Blanquet had a header saved Foley would make it 6-1 before the break with a fine header. Norfolk bravely battled on in the second-half and would have the only opportunity but Tajo Juanjo’s volley was saved and they finished well-beaten. SuperJuve has his side in striking distance of the top three and while they remain in good goal-scoring form they will be a threat to anyone. Howemiester will have raised a glass to celebrate his side’s first goal of the season and will be happy just to chalk off another game ahead of the change report.

Real Madrid secured their first win in seven to leave Futsal still deep in relegation trouble. Futsal would enjoy the better chances in the game but Rick Tuttle set the tone as his header was saved by Nersesian. A bicycle-kick by Freddy Kennedy fared no better as the ‘keeper positioned himself well again to make the save. Their third chance of the half proved to be the most unfortunate as Tuttle looked to do everything right in lobbing Nersesian only for it to crash back off the angle of post and bar. Madrid would improve after the break and Ashod Marderosian gave them the perfect tonic with a headed goal on 56 minutes. Kevin Gabriele couldn’t repeat the dose on 63 minutes as his diving header went over but Futsal missed their opportunity to level when Rowley Forrester’s free-kick was saved and Madrid recorded a vital victory. FredRizzo’s side have eased their relegation worries but it might be a case of having drawn too many to force their way into any battle at the top. Jake will be eager for his side to pick up a win soon to get themselves out of the relegation zone but they remain well in touch with Cressex who occupy the last safe spot.
