Stanley Back From The Dead

Stanley showed there fighting spirit to come from 2-0 down to clinch a 3-2 victory at Santos FC. Santos set off like a house on fire racing into a 2 goal lead after just 26 minutes , with the Santos fans expecting more goals which is the norm in these games Stanley had other ideas with the inspirational Garry Molseley pulling one back for Stanley just before half time , Markham`s half time team talk did the trick as Stanley put Santos under pressure and the pressure told as Santos gave away a needless free kick which Matts Wallman fired a superb free kick which left the Santos keeper with no chance. Stanley had the scent for victory and as the Santos players tired up popped Jon MacClintock to head home from a Cal McMac cross to sead the Stanley fans into raptures . The win was slightly tarnished by an injury to the luckless Luke Riou .
