River be Damned

Two games to go and Crimea River look well set to weather two or three or eleven seasons in the RMI third tier. Despite an unusual struggle to maintain any kind of form the all important DV values look reasonable across the board despite some sides, not mentioning any names @peace, baffling decision to play 'bruise' (and pressure) in a game they were certain to win and with only three games of the season remaining.

Bristol City in Struggle to Stay Up

Bristol City manager Stevenson is today counting the cost of the 10 drawn matches this season. Level on points with AJ Rovers, the manager has confirmed that he needs to win his remaining two fixtures away against F.C. Greatness and Kensington Boys Club to stand any chance of staying up.

'AJ Rovers have an easy game against the African Imitators for the last game of the season and so they are nearly guarenteed 3 points. One win would be enough with our superior goal difference but I feel we need two to make absolutely sure'.

Bomb scare at Holgate

Holgate's ground was evacuated ahead of their home game this week with Legends following a bomb scare.
Suspicion was aroused when a suspicious package was delivered to the managers office. The large brown unmarked envelope had eastern european postal markings and office staff reported a distinct smell of plastic so they immediately called police.
Manager Riverside Shep apologised for any misunderstanding regarding his adult interest internet purchase and lilo lil is settling in well as assistant manager.
Anybody got a puncture repair kit?

Home sweet home

Flare United had a great week at the Sunburst Arena as they defeated first Real Madrid FC and then Pahang United, both by a reasonably comfortable 2-0 margin. Ernie Ormondroyd has been on fire even in the worst of form as his freekick from a Cristiano Ronaldo foul sealed the win over Real after Ruben de La Red had initially put the ball into his own net in the 10th minute. He then went on to net two beautiful freekicks against Pahang United to bring his season tally to 12 goals.

Flare United next travel to AFC Stanley before hosting The Vikings, fixtures from which they need 2 points in total to seal their place in the top flight next season but will prove unimportant if Splott Rovers fail to win their final two games against tough opposition.

FMR Finally Makes Good On Promises

"A fantastic moment for everyone involved, not only the players out there today but also for those that started the ball rolling back when I arrived... which feels like an eternity in all honesty. I'm also chuffed for the likes of Bergkamp, Lang and Henry who from the day I arrived, showed they had something extra special, the like of which I had not seen in my short time managing before. I have always mentioned their names amongst the greats of the RMI and now they finally have their chance to go toe to toe with the best!

The plan was always to arrive in the top flight this coming season, with Henry, Lang and Bergkamp almost at their peak development and have two or three cracks at the title before they retire. To actually reach our goal on schedule and see the whole thing become a reality is fantastic! As for next seasons hopes... I have not had a chance to look further than beyond this point in all honesty, all my focus has been on getting to here... certainly it will not be easy and we haven’t set any targets yet. What I can say is we are very serious about doing the best we can and as such have decided to sit out the pre season cup this year and focus entirely on the club and the squad, it has no benefits for the team and is sadly a luxury this club cannot afford looking at the task that lies ahead of us.

We haven’t attained any silverware to date and obviously some will judge us on those merits, but i personally feel we have done something more than put a trophy in the cabinet...Gooners was a great team going nowhere, had this team received the tlc I have simply provided I’m sure there would already be a few trophies already in the cabinet. The speed of the turnaround for me says it all... these are players that just needed their chance to shine and have made much of my job very simple. Sadly my arrival came too late for some and there was also one or two we had to sacrifice along the way, who I wish were here to share the moment. The clubs future has been dramatically changed whilst achieving at least some form of success in the way of top flight football. We didn’t say that’s it this lot are past it and start over, the club kept faith in the key players here and rebuilt around them gradually while maintaining pace with the other top clubs in the league. To combine the two things is not so simple and it makes this final promotion seem that much sweeter.

When you look at our skill ratings, performance ratings etc we are never even at the races... it is our average ratings that are key... it is team work and desire to win that has got us this far. We had exceptional players and all I have attempted to do is add to them, whilst keeping that desire to win. There are no passengers at Gooners, it is my philosophy that every player should be contributing something, whether it be goals, assists or defensive player ratings well above their skill level... there are many ways to look at this game and my focus is geared towards post match performance ratings rather than a players standard skill rating. Every first team player we had here has been given ample opportunity to play well consistently and if they cannot then we move them on. Consistency is the key!

I would always take a seven skill player who plays a ten consistently and scores ten goals a season... over a ten skill player who plays inconsistently and scores one or two if at all in his entire career(it is something throughout the team which is noticeable at Gooners). I have said many times Bergkamp is the heart and soul of the club and the team may never be the same the day he retires, he is the standard by which I compare all others! It is also nice to know exactly what to expect from the eleven you pick, and that helps massively when deciding exactly how far to push the opposition, hence why we never change things dramatically.

The point is... that is why in my opinion we have been able to keep pace or stay above what are clearly stronger squads and nothing will change. Yes I could off load Busquets and Fabregas after the change report and possibly match anything in the top flight skill wise. That’s not our style though and we will be looking only to let one player leave and we are hoping to bring in two. It is no secret we are looking at our keeper options and we are already watching a certain midfielder closely... whether we can prise him away remains to be seen.

As for the end of this season, nothing much changes here also... I feel we gave it our best shot but for a couple of badly timed injuries things could have been very different... but I feel now is time to focus on certain players rather than the title. Of course anything can and usually does happen but we won’t be sending out our strongest eleven in either of the remaining fixtures... far from it. Greatness has been a great competitor and I am sure whoever wins the title will have deserved it, and we look forward to playing them again next season.”

Oranje Hit the Front

Totaalvoetbal found their scoring touch this past week to hit six goals and gain six vital points in their quest for a second RM Invitational title.

A tricky looking match at OAP Pop Punk saw the home side in a very aggressive mood going forward. However, it would be Pierre van Diemen who made the difference in the match-up. A header just before half-time and a crisp strike after the break saw Totaal go 2-0 ahead and look in control. To their credit Pop Punk quickly pulled a goal back courtesy of a Tony Adams strike from distance and went close to levelling on several occasions. Nevertheless, it would be the Dutch side who would emerge triumphant as van Diemen netted his hat-trick goal minutes from time to clinch an important win.

Totaal would be back at Metelo Park on Friday with fellow title contenders Kirkbride Strollers in opposition. Both sides knew a win would be crucial to their challenge and attacked the game from the off. Stephen Robinson made the first breakthrough for the visitors with a fine header but this was cancelled out before the break as Bosse Bong broke from midfield to finish well following good work from van Diemen. It would be van Diemen himself who would then put Totaal ahead after the break before the match had an exciting finish. Robinson netted again for Kirkbride with a brilliant free-kick to level matters but a Bong strike from some way out would clinch the win for the Oranje.

The result left Totaalvoetbal a point clear going into the final week but with a tough match at Splott to come on Tuesday the title is still as far away as ever.

Promotion Secured

PSV fans are i celebratory mood after securing promotion to divsion 2. In a season where we expected to just ease in to the division and settle for mid table. We have brought a young team and challenged for the title. Congrats to Juve there was never any doubt the title had their name on it.

Special praise has to be given to 'Norvald Tollefsen'. The 34 yr old veteran has done exactly what we needed from him. In the past 4-5 games he's been dropping in man of the match performances just when we needed and experienced head to guide us.

As for next season we dont plan to sign anyone. For 3 reasons that is.
1. We dont have any money.
2. We're hoping for a good CR. So the team will only get better.
3. Im happy with the sqaud

Committed To The End!

Faust Baronchelli is going to miss his young daughter's birthday as it clashes with the team's next away match. This makes him very unpopular with his daughter, and his wife isn't impressed either, as she wanted help organising the party. However, Faust Baronchelli is a professional and doesn't allow this to affect his performance, so his form is unaffected.

Youngsters impressive!

Milan just about secured the win in todays game but they had to wait till the 87th min before scoring the winner.

The youngsters put in a very impressive performance whilst the older players backed them up. Another tough weak worth of form training is costing the teams another million econ but the manager is hopeful it'll be worth it come the end of season change report.

Another Harsh Defeat

Arsenal were again feeling a little hard done by as they suffered a 1-0 defeat by OAP. Brown was left wondering if he should of gotten more from that game but these things happen. OAP boss is a good lad and a good manager.

Up next is Kirkbride, a tough game indeed but Brown has wondered for a while what their DV is like when they keep playing 5 at the back?

Advice from Izuka

RMI league assistant Izuka earlier today paid a visit to the Flare United training ground to interview himself for advice for his fellow managers. Here's what the young Malaysian manager managed to convey to the young Malaysian reporter for his article without a single word said during the whole interview:

"If I were you, I would form train my players tomorrow to prepare them for the final game of the season and give them a slight average form and development value boost if they need it. That would be my final actual form training for the season, perfectly timed to start my pre-season plans. I would then save my econs and make sure the players I plan to keep next season are free on the 22nd of this month for form training, just so I can get my form training done on the day right after the change report, righting most negative form tendencies from the change report as fast as possible and getting a quick start to preparations for the next season.

Of course, that's just if I were you, though, but I'm not, so it's up to you, really."

New season

With the season coming to its close, St Omer manager Cony Tottee today spoke about his plans for the future.

Cony said 'It's been tough playing with so many youngsters in the team, but we will keep going although we may have to reduce the size of the squad to try and keep the development up'.

Into 3rd place.....

A mixed week for Thes Charming Men saw RDCM's men gun down the Gooners 4-0, before losing 2-1 to Cathalio's Bully Boys.

RDCM made it clear that althought promotion would be great, in truth development comes first.

Next up is a tough trip to West Brom Strollers, to commemorate the game Chano Delgado has changed his name to Steve Bull by deedpoll.

Gooners News

Everything is going according to the script... that was FMRealism's view, he said of this weeks events. Knowing they could not beat Charming with a much weaker side away at first looked awful according to Gooners boss... we then looked at Greatness fixture and decided there was a big possibility they may not win that game, Kensington have been the stand out team in the second half of the season and are on title winning form, they will certainly be a force next season.

We fielded a team which included Busquets, Akinfeev and Overmars.. they are wild cards, in reality they expected to lose but in all honesty with those guys anything could have happened. FMR knew the midfield wasnt going to force the issue so Gooners attempted to play on the counter and soak up the pressure. Obviously it all went pear shaped but the important thing was Greatness also collected no points and Gooners young players got another game under their belts!

After this game Gooners were now feeling threatened by Charming aswell and we needed to go and win the next game, and the two players who they needed most, returned for the game they needed to win the most up to this point. Borja and Henry are very key and the difference is blatent when they are on the field. Kensington was always going to be a difficult game to win.. and all they could hope for is that other teams had left their DV games late in the season, and it would seem luck would be on their side yet again! Kensington fielded a much weaker side and Gooners didnt need asking twice to make the most of the opportunity on offer, Greatness meanwhile had a freak result at Rovers and both Gooners goal advantage and three point lead was restored.

It does not end there though, if any Gooners fan was to write a script where they had a glory season and taking the title... we are sure it would include a blockbuster do or die fixture against old rivals Bully Boys. So with everyone returning to fitness and in apparently very good form.. it could only be a home fixture to Bullies next... with everyone fit and Gooners record against Bullies under FMR there can be no excuses! Should Gooners win against their old rivals it would mean just one more win needed to secure the title FMR always said was first on his list of things to do. Both AJ Rovers and West Brom are difficult games but with so much at stake and with confidence gained from another winning run you have to fancy them.. should they overcome the next game.

FMRealism himself refuses to talk of such out comes yet and knows Cath will do everything in his power to stop Gooners in their tracks... FMRealism is happy to have secured a promotion place to top flight football and stated he is more concerned currently with his players that were injured and making sure they come through the change report without losing skill. That is the real pressure according to FMRealism... making sure Gooners are able to compete next season, he went on to say " of course we would like the trophy aswell but we are not expected to win it and have already achieved our goal.... lets just enjoy the moment and play without expectations".

Too little too late?

With that mid season slip up with the old gaffer being chucked out and me being brought in may have been ultimately a costly mistake since there is only 3 games left and a gap of 4 points to make up.

"We need help and its out of our hands, we fudged up when we were in a strong position and now we face another year of being the best man but never the groom .... although untill its mathematically out of our hands then I won't be giving up any time soon....

VIVA LA NEEDARESTY!!!!"

oh dear

Splott Rovers could only manage a draw against Pahang United which leaves them just above the relegation zone on goal difference. This means Friday's game against The Vikings is a must win if the team are to have any chance of staying up. With two tough final fixtures after this the future doesn't look bright for Splott

Just 3 More Points

With promotion at first attempt looking more likely for the young PSV side. Kadri has called for concentration. We only require 3 more points to make it mathematically impossible for our opponents to catch up. "I'll gladly settle for 3 more draws in the final 3 games"
In other news PSV manager Kadri is being tipped by the fans for manager of the season.
"I wasn't even aware that competition was still on till I checked the forum earlier today. I won't lie it would be good to win that"
For now tho lets just focus on our next game and hope our rivals slip up. I would really like the final 2 games to be pressure free for us.

Tight bottom

half of the table.

The relegation dogfight continues to rumble on as three sides go toe-to-toe in a battle to survive in division 2. Special Ones MK II, Worltey afc and ALLORNOTHING are seperated by one point and goal difference in a hard fought affair that is likely to go to the wire.

All the sides have managed to turn on some form over the past few matches, and neither team wants to be the first to blink in a real battle of nerves.

A likely deciding game is up next as Special Ones MKII take on ALLORNOTHING. The away side certainly have the skill advantage, and perhaps ajtrader100 knows that a single point would be a decent result.

Finally!

Arsenal finally broke thier awful run with a solid 3-1 win over The Thundercats. Brown fielded his youth players in a bid to get their DV up but getting the win aswell was a massive bonus.

Brown feels he made a massive massive mistake buying someone so late in the season when on some druken mission to sort his defence out. The whole club has a feeling he will decrease in skill come the CR. What a waste of money!

Bonkers

This team just keeps on doing it, one minute they are good, the next they are @>?;21!!! poor. What can a manager do? Either way, there is no chance of the team making the promotion spots (having been there for the first half of the season. Lucky the poitns gained early on mean that the team is more than likely going to make it to mid table glory. Chins up Bonkers, at leat it wont be two demotions in a row!!! The manager justs wants to shake his head a start complaining about refs, injustices, vuvuzelas...like a normal footballer...

Arsenal Go With Youth

Arsenal boss Brown has came out and stated he intends to use the rest of the season to field his youth players. A poor run has seen them fall from the top and more or less out of the title race. Training the youth players is their main target now.

Bristol City edging towards relegation.

Bristol City manager Stevenson is this week rooing the bad tactics he played against the West Brom Strollers which cost them the game. 'We lost 2-0 and it was all my own fault. We are now one place above the relagtion zone on goal difference only. It appears to be a two way fight to avoid the drop beteween us and AJ Rovers and so we need to start scoring goals and winning. I have been relying on the youngsters but now eveyone has to step up to the mark and start scoring. Hopefully we can start a mini revival against the almost certainly relegated Yorkshires Amateurs this week'.

Manager offloads veterans

Wynfor Roberts and Joshua Fisher depart before the transfer window closed.

Club veterans Roberts and Fisher found themselves sensationally offloaded before they succombed to what would be a very bad change report for the pair. The manager decided that the 2 Million Econs would be favourable, and leaves the manager with just one goalkeeper and a bunch of teenagers as replacement strikers.

The 'youth only policy' now being enforced at the club leaves the side wide open to a few hammerings before the seasons is out, and this risky tactic could backfire as they are only just out of the dropzone on goal difference.

A win Huzzah

With the 1st win under the new boss done and dusted, a sigh or relief could be heard a mile off at the post match press conference.

"*sigh*"

And with that the steaua manager Bundy got up and left the interview room. The press were left with the idea that he's after turning into a man of few words .....

Performance Tuning

With the RM Invitational season rapidly slinking to a close Crimea River head coach Ithaqua ploughs headlong into deploying madcap formations to top-up the all important DV values before the end of the final game. And all apparently heedless of racking up some impressive defeats on the way.

With only four games of the season left and the club coffers dwindling the River coaching staff will no doubt be hoping that one or two players develop above expectations and leave for mighty coffer-boosting transfer fees.

Still in with a shout

After an important away win to bully boys, Carthage have kept up the promotion chase after struggling to find form, with the main issue of the team still being the very low average age, it was always going to be an uphill task to gain promotion.

The next few games are key and Blakey0500 believes it will all come down to the final game of the season.

Slowly Ticking By

The end is near. With 4 games left and 12 points up for grabs. We need 5 points or more to guarantee ourselves promotion in what has so far been a fantastic campaign.
This week was really important. Cressex are one of the teams closely behind and they dropped 3 points against us. Also the like of Anime All Stars stuttered.
It would seem our early form in the season (whilst others were still finding their feet) is beginning to fruit.

Stroke of genius bails out Flare

With 5 games left of the season, it looked like Flare United were just about ready to give up and resign themselves to life in Division 1. However, with 4 games left now, they look to be in a decent position to survive after a narrow 1-0 win in a very important match against fellow top flight strugglers Splott Rovers.

Earlier in the week, United crashed to a 2-0 loss against Santos FC. However, Izuka came up with another of his unorthodox but brilliant tactical manoeuvres, such as his unpredictable but successful usage of the 5-2-3 formation at times, to topple Splott Rovers.

Lining up in a 5-3-2 formation, Izuka had his midfielders and forwards make up a back five with his defenders making up the other half of the team for kickoff. It worked as the Splott players, surprised by the sudden reshuffle of the United players, were beaten by a combination of United's veteran defenders, Roger Ellerman and Philipp Bitzer, Ellerman setting up Bitzer for a breakaway goal. Right after the goal, Izuka had United defend for their lives, and that's how United ran out 1-0 winners.

"I respect Carbonmonoxide, he's a good manager and gave me lots of problems when I was setting up my tactics. However, if one of me, him, and DBYC has to go down, it's not going to be me!" said Izuka after the match.

Anime scared by the Boo Boys

Going into this game Anime knew nothing but a win would do and sadly for them it never came. They travelled to the AFC Boo Boys Stadium where they saw their promotion dream unravel before their eyes. On th 11th minute Dan Scuderi scored the only goal of the match as AFC Boo Boys scored via a well worked free-kick. Both teams enjoyed 2 decent chances but Anime failed to use any of theirs and it finished 1-0. Anime recorded only their second defeat on the road this season but it puts a huge dent in their promotion challenge. With just 12 points left now for Anime to win and they are still 11 points off the promotion race. In the post match interview Joshy had this to say...

" Untill we can no longer be promoted mathmatically we shall push on for promotion. Once its impossible we shall give our youngsters the lime light but i would like to see us fight till the death. We have not won enough games this season and we have drawn too many which is way we are lagging behind we have only been beaten 4 times this season which is a good record hopefully we can take this battle to the last day of the season. "

Totaal in Fourth with Four to go

Totaalvoetbal endured a frustrating week as their title challenge spluttered along.

A trip to AFC Stanley was first on the agenda and when Pierre van Diemen shot home from inside the area things were looking good for the Oranje. However, Luke Riou levelled after some poor marking from a corner and Totaal would not be able to regain the initiative. Indeed, things got worse as Shirsh Vajpayee was sent-off late in the day to add problems to a midfield already shorn of Bosse Bong due to injury.

Due to this Totaal would face up to league-leading ThunderCats in a 5-2-3 formation. Ultimately it produced a decent performance albeit without a cutting edge. They would survive an offside ThunderCats' goal which, on second viewing, looked legitimate and the sides would go away with a point each.

Totaal would sit in fourth following the week’s results just two points back but the reality is, with Santos looking in awesome form, they might just need four wins and still have to hope for some help from elsewhere.

Bad to worse

Things are just getting worse and worse in the Arsenal camp. A string of bad results, the latest a bad 3-0 defeat, season ending injurys and drunken bidding on players with only 4 games remaining.

Brown is left feeling down as he is out of the title race, out of money and has brought a player with only 4 games left, a mighty task to try and get some decent DV for the lad.

He is just sat praying for the season to end so they can start again next season

Clark Kent flies off

After 109 games and 13 goals, Holgate Pathetic midfield general Clark Kent has finally decided to hang up his boots and retire gracefully.
Injury has taken its toll on Kent this season and it has become clear that his footballing development would be going backwards rather than forwards at the close of the season.
Kent has also been causing some trouble around the stadium recently, claiming that he could fly and had x ray vision. This has caused ladies team some concern and Kent has been moved on before a law suit could follow.

Capdevila inspired TCM destroy Gooners

These Charming Men gave one of their best performances of the season to beat top of the table Gooners 4-0.

Goals from Constantino Gris, Steven Lane, Linus Streicher and Clemente Alvernaz ensured the victory, which was aided by a poor performance from Gooners rookie keeper Akinfeev.

Mauricio Capdevila set up 2 of the goals and ensure hes continues to revel in his new legendary status.

Next up a real 6 pointer against Bully Boys, should be a great game....................

I couldn't finish the press without mentioning something about 532 though :D

Tactically Outclassed!

It very rarely happens but when it does AC Milan manager djoxy1983 is full of plaudits to the manager who achieves it. So he offered his congratulatoins and hand to Riversideshep who tactically outclassed him in today's match as his team Holgate Pathetic ended djoxy's undefeated run since arriving at Milan.

Though Milan's formation was predictable due to suspensions the rest of tactics were spot on and djoxy clearly got the visitors tactics all wrong guessing the formation, playing style and playmaker all wrong which probably helped to Milan's cause of losing the game.

Milan will try to put this step backwardss behind them and focus on getting back on track in their next match agains the special ones!

Promotion flame still burning

Anime Allstars FC's hope of promotion are still alive despite being 11 points off the pace. With just 15 points up for grabs Anime will soon be asking other teams for favours. Anime can still be promoted out-right but if they do not win their 5 remaining fixtures you get the feeling that the race is over.

In their last match they kept the flame alive with a narrow 1-0 home win over Steaua Needarest. On the 40th minute Sonsaku Hakufu headed home the only goal of the match from a well worked corner. Anime had 3 good chances but only took one, the visitors were unable to even create a single decent effort infront of goal and in the post match interview Joshy had this to say...

" This season has not gone to plan and we are lagging behind in the promotion race. We now need to win our 5 remaining matches to give ourselves any realistic chance of promotion this season. The youth are coming along nicely and we are expecting another good change report and our plans for next season have been made simple as only one player has put in a request for retirement. "

Win Win Win Draw

Kensington Boys Clubs excellent winning streak was ground to a halt by White Hawk FC who decided a draw was all KBC would get out of their team on their own ground. But it would take until the 95th minute until Ryan Dharmsingh shot one past Sampson who looked distraught.

Now the great FC Greatness await and it will be a great home fixture for eager KBC fans who have missed out on the last two games. Very few could afford the trip to Malaysia.

Draw

Cony Tottee was pleased with his young sides performance this week as they managed a 2 - 2 draw at home to Rolling Thunder. Both teams created lots of chances in what was a very entertaining match, with St Omer grabbing an equaliser with only three minutes left.

big game

Splott Rovers take on Flare United tomorrow knowing a win will take them five points clear of them in the relegation zone. This is a massive match and the boys know they have to try and win to give ourselves a chance of top-flight football next season.

Rebuilding

Arsenal appears to be shifting a few players before the season ends. Sources tell us that Brown has decided that with their current form they are out of the title race and that some players are being sold to raise funds so they can rebuild their defence. Arsenal have already brought in some promising players and it all rests on a half decent CR. Brown has already informed us he will be focusing on his younger players for the rest of the season.

Franco Baresi was walking down the street when an old lady asked him to help her cross the road. He kindly obliged and was rewarded with a big hug and a peck on the cheek. He marched off whistling to himself and feeling good, blissfully unaware that the old lady had stolen his wallet. Like most players today, he is hideously overpaid so his form was not affected.

A Legend Leaves

Pahang United manager and one of the originals of this league, True Blue has today left his team after a great spell with one of the most known names in the league.

Pahang United started at the very bottom of the RMI in the Division 2 but over the past 6 seasons made their way to the top division. True Blue was a class manager and a great lad when on the scribble and will be missed.

Details on the next manager of their team will be released soon.

We wish TB, a loyal manager, the best of luck in the future!

Every Cloud...

Gooners had a roller coaster week of fixtures which included, their second largest victory, an injury to a key player and a slender loss to Greatness. FMRealism refused to talk about the Carthage fixture, stating the reason ... he did not want to get in trouble with the FA for his opinions on their conduct. The game did throw Gooners a life line though after the loss of their only experienced striker, when they increased their goal difference to ten.

The injury to Henry meant that Borja who was fit for the Greatness game and you have to feel may have made the difference if not only for his dead ball abilities could not be risked... as it would have put the rest of their season in jepordy had he become injured again! They probably deserved a point from the game but as things stand, a nine goal difference to rivals Greatness will be seen as a good result at this stage of the season.

FMRealism took the positives from the week:

"As always my players come first and Borja is now back, it is fantastic news.. not only back but in amazing form and this means we have many more options when deciding upon tactics and formations. Henry looked to be beyond repair but a huge win bonus combined with some well timed training means... we look to have rescued both his career and possibly our season. Its still early days but all signs are loooking positive and we hope that he will be back in action very soon, with a possibility to finish the season strongly and fingers crossed increase in skill.

It is maybe the best out come we could have hoped for.. of course we lost by one goal, but that means we still have the cash to spend and with development looking very good hopefully we can improve upon that and form will be key in the remaining games. On the subject of development we will use the Charming game to play almost all our fringe players, many fans may frown upon this decision but as I just mentioned we are looking at an excellent CR on the whole and with forms very high the timing is correct.

Yes we may lose the lead in the title chase, but hopefully the young lads playing here will continue to put in the kind of performances we have seen recently and make a game of it. If there is any team of those in the chasing pack we would rather give the three points to, my choice would be Charming and the games are maybe the ones I look forward to the most every season... I'm hoping they can hold on to the third spot for sure.

We have our own agenda aswell of course and with the return of Henry around the corner and with Borja back we have a real chance in the remaining fixtures with many being played at home.. and with many teams visiting here needing a win, it should allow us to play our game. The nine goal difference is where my focus is now... yes we may drop to second but with player development all but finished and under no expectation to win.. we could put another run together. Aslong as we remain within touching distance of Greatness I feel the pressure may get to them. There is also a tough game in Kensington for them Tuesday, Patrick is on a good run currently and we have been very impressed.. it is all still to play for."

Milan stride to victory!

Milan gave Crimea River fans all the opportunity in the world to ball their eyes out today when Milan thumped them 3-0 and dominated the game.

The only dissapointing thing for Milan was the keeper's rating who got a 6 performance even though he didn't have to touch the ball.

Sometimes the game doesn't make sense but regardless it was still a good performance and Milan will be hoping for more of the same against Holgate next though they are expected to be much tougher opponents.

manager storms out

arsenal boss brown stormed out after the game. sources have told us that not winning has really bothered him.

this is understandable given arsenal had an attacking rating of 13, nearly double that of the visitors defence rating.

Franco Baresi was walking down the street when an old lady asked him to help her cross the road. He kindly obliged and was rewarded with a big hug and a peck on the cheek. Change is a foot?

New Boss Bundy has implemented his 1st round of change since taking over the club.

It started with the new owners coming in and rebranding the club - Steaua Needarest, and talk about new signings have been quickly dashed.

"Yeah them so and so's lied to me, they promised money galore, signings the calibre of Robert Green and Yakubu after their World Cup performances. I should have known they were taking the mickey. Those two were crap at the WC ffs. I'm surprised that the team was as high as it was. If it means 1 step back to take 2 steps forward then so be it."

Reporters seemed a tad puzzled by that comment so tried to investigate further ....
"Yeah - Just saying that relegation could be in sight should I not like any of the players here .... I'm just saying is all"

Bristol City gain another valuable point

Bristol City manager Stevenson is again a happy person this week after two draws against good opposition. The first draw was against Carthage FC in which wonder youth Rankine scored yet another goal. 'This was a sweet draw because Carhage Blakey0500 was in the press this week saying they were going to easily beat us. They certainly did not do that'.

The second draw was against These Charming Men. Although only a 0-0 draw, this match showed why Bristol City have the best defensive record in the division. If only they could score a few more goals.....

Stanley News

Manager Markham33 had his team in for extra training following there 1-1 away draw at The Vikings .
Thats the last 3 games we have drawn we need to find that cutting edge and quick, games are running out and we need to beat the teams that are below otherwise we will be in trouble, said Markham
Next up is a home game against old friend Totaalvoetbal where Markham joked he`d take another draw now if offered

Down and Outs

Six games to go and Crimea River look to top up those all important development values. With 'keepers Jarle Ekwald and Kenneth MacBryne maintaining impressive DV ratings the news is less rosy throughout the squad as several players suffer the effects of short and long term injuries picked up earlier in the season.

In other news back-to-back defeats leave the Crimea River collection of street thugs and juvies a few points from the mathematical certainty of the pre-season definite certainty of relegation. Though somehow they still managed to cobble together two points. And five goals.

Horrid week

Flare United have had a bad week, taking only one point from their home encounters against Arsenal DV and Kirkbride Strollers. United are barely above the relegation zone and will need to pick up points quickly with a revitalised OAP Pop Punk breathing down their necks.

"Philipp Bitzer will be back soon, so that is a good sign for the club. We've been missing his influence badly at the back, and I believe with his return, the team will be able to focus on the attack more," said Izuka to reporters earlier today.

not good

two defeats on the trot have left Splott Rovers one point of the relegation zone and it looks like they could be heading back down to Division One unless the players can step up to the plate. The manager hasn't been of form of late either and the team need to get back on track soon

The Ones need to be Special

Division 2 strugglers have an epic challenge on their hands.

The distance between Division 2 and 3 football is a gnats bollock, goal difference is all that seperates the teams in and out the dropzone. Two defeats fr The Special Ones have meant a slide towards oblivion and unless the side step up their game, the chances of staying in this tier are gradually being eroded.

The side have a tough run intot he end of the season, and the manager is less than optomistic.

"With s few games to g, and against tough opposition I can't see a way out for us. We need to scrape some draws against tough opposition, that's all I can hope for."

Anime, the thorn of Division 3

Going into Anime's latest match spirits were high following a string of decent results. In the reverse fixture Alsancak F.C were lucky to get a point from the match as they needed a 90th minute penalty to level the match. Going into this match Alsancak F.C had one their last 6 matches in a row, as for Anime they had only lost one of their 7 previous matches which included home and away visits to Juventus and PSV.

Anime had their work cut out and the match itself proved to be another tatical battle and in the first half both teams were able to produce just the single effort on goal as it finished 0-0 at half time. The second half would see Naru Narusegawa limp off on the 57th minute. The game became a deadlock as both sides showed a great defensive display, Alsancak F.C had just the once chance in the second half which they wasted. Anime the visitors were able to create another two more chances on goal but failed to convert them and the match finished 0-0. Joshy had this to say...

" It was a solid display and we fully deserve our point. Alsancak F.C were on a roll and i was concerned this game might slip past us but we were good value for money today. Once again we have stopped another team on a run our last victims were Juventus we are fast becoming the thorn of this league for quite a few managers as we are hard to break down. We have only lost 3 times all season and won the silly season cup with our defensive record. Up next we face new outfit Steaua Needarest and we have no idea what to expect all we know is the former club was a tricky place to go to so we will take nothing for granted. "

Totaal Inspired by Oranje

Totaalvoetbal manager Robin Meeblind took a gamble yesterday and saw it pay off as his side moved back to within one point of top spot in the RM Invitational.

Having slipped to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at a surging Santos, Meeblind knew his side could not afford anymore blips.

The Santos game proved a tough encounter but it would be the home side’s more attacking style which would ultimately win the day. Pushing Totaal back late in the game they forced a crucial error out of Jaap Cruz which resulted in an own goal and three points going to the Brazilians.

Forward to yesterday afternoon and a crucial day in the title race. Meeblind would normally have his side focused on the task at hand but instead sat his Dutch troops down to watch the Oranje in action against Brazil.
“It seemed to have the desired effect,” offered Meeblind.
“They were relaxed and buzzing going into the game following The Netherlands’ victory.”
Indeed, Totaal rocked the Madrid woodwork twice in the early stages and although they lost Bosse Bong to injury they always looked the likelier winners.

So it was that Totaal legend Pierre van Diemen opened the scoring with a clinical strike in the area on 68 minutes and when Antonello Ballarin delivered a trademark free-kick just four minutes later the points were secured.

However, Totaal and Meeblind will know there is little margin for error with another four sides competing hard in a compelling title race.

Holgate revival continued

Steve McQueen scored a bullit of a shot against Morley to secure a 1-0 win for Holgate Pathetic. Wally West showed superhuman pace to get down the wing and set up McQueen for the forwards first goal since his recent signing.
Holgate have won 5 games and drew 1 since Riverside Shep took over. Shep takes little credit for this as he has yet to leave his office since realising the club had a dodgy sky link and access to all the channels, including the "adult interest".

Reaguard provide point!

AC Milan once again faced the league leaders this morning in the form of Legends. Milan knew going into this game they were going to have to play very well to get anything from a far stronger side.

Thankfully for Milan though the manager got his tactics spot on again and the performance of the teams defence ensured that Milan walked away with a point.

Legends will be dissapointed at the lack of opportunities they created considering their amount of possession. But with both teams being cautious over a very strict and skilled refereee neither side was willing to take the chance required to win the game.

AC Milan next visit Crimea River where they hope to be able to get back to winning ways..

Squeeky Bum Time

With only 6 games left and 4 points keeping us afloat of the promotion spots, we really dont care how we win as long as we do. Last week result was a big set back considering the circumstances. We didnt want to go into free fall so it was crucial to win today.
We've been amongst the top 3 all season (top 2 for most of it) so we do not want to choke at this point,

Santos Rock Arsenal

Arsenal were left shell shocked as they were well beaten by a strong Santos team.

Brown decided to go with an attacking 3-4-3, something that is rarely done away from home, this is clearly why.

"We never really play that attacking away from home but Santos took us by surprise, they played a 5 man defence against TV so we expected the same. Maybe they showed TV more respect then us, which is strange given the position we were in at the time"

"The lose has hit us hard, form is low all over the team, i think are title chase is over now. We dropped to 4th, thats how tight it is at the top now. KS have been on a good run, they deserve to be at the top but my money is still on TV for the title, it has been all season"

"We have learnt a lot today, we won't make the same mistake twice, are goal was to win the league in 3 seasons, this is only my second season, so we are on course i think"

Striker for sale.

Cony Tottee this week placed star striker Dennis Bogarde on the transfer market as he looks to try and raise some cash.

The striker, whose current form is 18 would be an asset to any side and Cony is hopeful a few bids will come in before the deadline.

Arsenal might suffer at the back without Almunia in goal but Arsenal's attacking line-up should be much better now with the recent acquisition of Fahlström, who will enjoy testing his international teammate. TCM deny Imitators

A one sided game in which a young looking TCM side dominated, ensure These Charming Men were victorious with a 4-1 victory over African Imitators.

Brian Higginbottom showed what a good player he is developing into scoring a hat trick and making the most of his chance whilst Chano Delgado is injured.

Gooners Boss Plays Down Title Hopes

After thumping White Hawk 3 -0 at home with a weakened squad the Gooners boss was being cagey about his teams title ambitions and keeping the entire clubs feet firmly planted on the ground. It was a emphatic victory with Gooners seeing eleven chances on goal and keepeing another clean sheet but, with a extremly tough run in towards the seasons climax the boss was far from smiling.

It was a one sided affair but Gooners didnt manage to capitalize until the 55th minute, mainly due to another poor performance from Busquets, in fairness he found the space and right positions... but is yet to find the confidence required to do the damage required. Bergkamp was the player to settle the Gooners nerves, back on freekick duties due to Borja's injury, he again showed why FMRealism rates him as the best player in the RMI. The game was all but over when White Hawks cracked under the constant pressure and found their own net and Overmars made sure in the 87th minute by bagging his first in a Gooners shirt.
FMRealism had this to say, after his 7th successive win:

"It's nice to pick up my 8th manager of the round award, I guess it is always nice to have confirmation that your doing things correctly.. although I doubt I will be picking up many more this season. Having said that if we were to win the division I guess we might be due one for each of the rounds to come. What I mean by that is every fixture bar one will be a cup final game and we need everything to go our way to come out on top. Obviously the win was vital to us, but at the same time it just gives hope to every team we are about to face making the task seem that much harder.

Going into the Carthage fixture I wanted to see a little more from upfront if I am totally honest, Busquets is a player that we are about to see alot more of and why there is no denying his potential.. if we are to be successful some of that potential needs to be realised in the final few games of this season. It was nice to see Overmars grabbing his first and in fairness he has contributed well to the season so far, but we were hoping Borja might return for the next game but sadly it is not to be. Training has been good but I think it is advantage Carthage in the next game and it will need something special to take all three points. The lads have been terrific and theres not much more we could have done this season to make the gap between ourselves and Greatness any larger considering, but I think it is a massive ask to remain top of the table for the remainder of the season.

Obviously we will give it our best and we look in good shape, the sale of Vermaelen will allow us to keep form high, Borja will return for the Greatness fixture and will be a huge boost to our promotion hopes... maybe there are still some twists that may go in our favor but I think we may find ourselves chasing Greatness again in all honesty. We will continue to take each game as it comes and reassess the situation on that basis. I do however feel confident we will finish in the top three and for sure we will be stronger next season."

Spotlight: Round 15

Round 15 was a thrilling round in Division 3 of the RMI with Steaua Needarest - Juventus, Alsancak F.C - PSV Eindhoven, and Ely City FC - FCR Cressex all ending in narrow 3-2 wins. Talk about a baptism of fire, with new RMI managers Albaroo and T0MS both putting in great fights against a couple of top sides in the division.

Division 3: Steaua Needarest 2-3 Juventus
Albaroo made his RMI debut with Steaua Needarest, looking to get them back into the promotion zone with a win over the league leaders. In a game of equal possession, the hosts started out better with Juventus' Li Hiroi picking up a booking in just the 2nd minute. Steaua Needarest captain Lage Eskengren soon followed suit, though, with his own booking in the 6th minute. His Juventus counterpart then picked up an injury in the 8th minute, leaving Juve with a weakened back four. The absence of the captain showed as, just 4 minutes later, Fabrizio Gualtieri carved open the Juve defence with an inch-perfect cross for Milivoje Berber to head in. The league leaders took their time to get back into the game, but did it in dominant style, Bahador Aprea levelling the scores with a 36th-minute long range shot before Li Hiroi scored in the 39th and, right after the restart, in the 46th minutes to give his side a 3-1 lead with two beautiful headers. Seth Eaves managed to reduce the deficit for the hosts 6 minutes later through his own header in the 52nd minute. With lots of time to push forward for the equaliser, the hosts threw everything into their attack, but could not do much in the final third with just a single striker after Lois Farrington got himself sent off in the 63rd minute. Juve were content to sit back and draw possession back to a level plane, and ultimately, went home with all three points.

Division 3: Alsancak F.C 3-2 PSV Eindhoven
This game took a little more time to get started, the first goal only coming in the 23rd minute when PSV Eindhoven's Claudio Collauto cracked a beautiful freekick past Leopold Frost. The hosts were cool and determined, though, and in 10 minutes found themselves level when Gabriel Agbonlahor found Gabriel Baldwin in the box. The defender isn't well known for his goals, but even he couldn't miss the target from that sort of position. The hosts suffered a minor setback just before halftime as captain Mark Noble was taken off injured and replaced by Lee Cattermole. However, things turned around quickly as Cattermole turned out to be the one who would earn his side the lead, his 48th-minute shot from just inside the penalty area beating Loki Weston in the PSV goal. Andrew Taylor could have made it 3-1 had he converted a 52nd-minute penalty, but he missed it, and PSV managed to draw level on the hour mark as Collauto headed in a Drasko Mrdjic cross. With time running out, Howie Colby was again instrumental in securing an Alsancak win, this time turning provider as his cross was headed in by Agbonlahor in the 86th minute. Alsancak F.C move up to second after that result.

Division 3: Ely City FC 2-3 FCR Cressex
In the final match to be covered in this round, T0MS was unlucky to have been handed such a hard task in his first game in charge. Hosting FCR Cressex, the hosts looked to be headed for a decent result when Tomas Master earned them the lead in just the 2nd minute with a beautiful curled effort from a dead ball situation. However, Tomas Tiribocchi levelled the scores with a 24th-minute header before his 40th-minute shot from a similar situation, both his goals coming after corners. Cabbar Saatcioglu then made it 3-1 as he latched on to a through ball from Tomas Tiribocchi and easily found the net in the 82nd minute. Tomas Master would not give up, though, and scored a second goal in the 88th minute to set up a nervous finale, his sheer determination helping him to beat a couple of Cressex defenders in the air to head in an Aaron Lennon cross. However, Ely City were unable to find a late equaliser, and FCR Cressex would go home happy.

Defensive Flare

Arsenal were left relying on other results to maintain their place at the top of the RMI after being well held away at Flare Utd. Brown had a feeling they might play abit defensive so he set out and attacking 3-5-2 formation, this allowed them to attack abit more while giving two of the younger MF’s a game.

Brown also noticed after the game that he didn’t update the playing style and was still set to cautious, something he never does when playing an attacking formation but what difference this made it more then likely little as Flare defended well.

With TV dropping points against Santos, Brown can relax a little for the time being, but come game time it will be tense as they face an away trip to Santos, the same game TV just lost and with Kirkbride and Thundercats flying high I think Arsenal’s run at the top will soon come to an end.

Stalemate!

AC Milan put in a decent performance away to Bayern Munich this evening getting a deserved 0-0 bore draw. It wasn't the result we wanted the manager stated but it's satisfactory. If we continue to pick up points away from home that can only be a good thing.

AC Milan proved they are more than capable of matching the best teams in the league but may have to rely on some luck to get the results they want. Next up the challeneg doesn't get any easier as Milan enteratin the new league leaders following todays results. Legends!

Can Milan knock another league leader off the top of the table?

Builders From Hell

Bob “Izuka” Builder has been named and shamed on a LIVE episode of Builders from Hell which was aired on Sky channel 999 at 3am this morning.

Undercover reporters uncovered a massive cowboy operation where Izuka has been found to be using cheap material and inferior tools to get the job done while push out high invoices to the customers.

This story is being hyped up by the good old British media with some front page head lines such as “Bob the Builder… No chance in hell” and Bob the Builder… can he get his fix…?”

More to follow

Bob the builder....

YES WE CAN! ;D

Watch out, Arsenal DB!

Experience counts...

Holgate Pathetic manager Riverside Shep today unveiled two new stars signed at bargain prices late last night.
Steve McQueen is a skill 7 28 year old forward with an eye for goal who should have a big impact up front.
Eric Morcambe is a cool skill 8 29yr old defender who the market had listed as skill 7 so was a real bargain.
Both players will bring experience and ability to the team, helping to develop the clubs youngsters. The total price of 3.5 million kept the boardroom happy too!

Riders and Tottenham Receive Boost

Tottenham Hotspur and Pink Bus Riders FC supporters were given fresh optimism over the weekend as their board appointed new managers.

The first arrival was T0MS who took up the vacant Tottenham post and, backed by a new board, quickly had the club renamed Ely City FC. The immediate task looks a tough one for the young manager but, with a plethora of youthful talent at his disposal, the fans will be hopeful he can lead them to brighter things.

Pink Bus Riders FC followed suit last night as Albaroo was appointed to steady the ship. The manager wasted little time in stating his ambition to have the club renamed in due course and, in an ominous warning to the playing staff, stated “there will be some personnel changes in the off-season.”

Exciting times indeed for these budding clubs and I’m sure the managers of the RMI will join me in wishing the new boys all the best.

Back to their old tricks

Anime had to come to terms with the fact promotion hopes are already starting to fade for them, with that in mind what better match then a trip to a title chasing team which came in the form of PSV.
Anime were able to hold PSV in the reverse fixture in a thrilling 2-2 draw so no one was expecting a dull game here. Once again the fixture delieved a fantastic game of football. The first half was not too thrilling but Joshy was left the happeir manager Anime denied PSV any meaningfull strike on goal and came closer of the two teams. The second half exploded into life and just 3 minutes in the visitors took the lead. 19 year old Ruri Sarasa's pile driver rippled the back of the net as Anime danced by the corner flag. As the match went on Anime started to think that perhaps all 3 points were up for grabs. PSV came close on 4 occasions and on the 76th minute made things all sqaure, Claudio Collauto showed Anime the piece to their puzzle that they are missing as his sweetly struck freekick floated into the back of the net. At 1-1 it was anyones game but neither team were able to find their elusive goal. Full time soon arrived and things finished 1-1 but more importantly Anime might of finished PSV's chance of winning the title. Joshy had this to say in the post match interview...

" It was another close match, today we came close to stealing all 3 points however PSV showed us why they are chasing the title. They came back from a shock goal and also came close to winning all 3 points themselves. Perhaps a draw was a fair result, We always carry a thret on our travels and today PSV got stung. We used our old tricks and showed gritt and determination to win a vital point in our currently loosing battle of promotion. Now we are 11 points off the pace perhaps they are just dreams ? "

New Boss New Beginnings?

After being confirmed as the new boss of Pink Bus Riders FC, there was a brief statement read out by the new gaffer.

"First off thank you for this opportunity, I don't want to flush the history of this club down the swanny but the name will have to be changed when the club is taken over by some eccentric gazillionaire from Kenya in the next few days. Also - there will be some personal changes in the off season - some of the established stars will be chucked out and a new breed of player will be brought in .... hopefully a better bunch of misfits."

Bristol City edging towards relegation

Bristol City manager Stevenson is a very worried man this week after seeing his team lose 1-0 to a good Gooners team. In a game they could ill afford to lose, the manager played his most experienced goalkeeper and defence and and still saw his team conceed four attempts on goal. 'This is just not good enough. We are 2 points above the relegation places and with West Brom Stollers in very good form below us since their new manager took over, we really need to win a couple of games to drag ourselves out of this mess'.

Draw-some

A largely unexpected second point of the season saw Crimea River climb to the heady heights of 12th in RMI division 2.

A stirring 0-0 draw against wortley AFC on Tuesday ensures that River will finish the season with 2 points more than almost every pundit predicted.

Any suggestion of a turnaround in fortune was quickly quashed on Friday as River returned swiftly to loosing ways with a narrow 4-0 loss to EspÃ…da ®

Gooners Remain Strong

Gooners held their nerve as they continued their winning run against Amateurs and City, they have been in fine form recently scoring for fun but Borjas second long term injury had put their season under threat. The young guns held their nerve in both fixtures this week though and as many expected Gooners found some space at the top of the table once again. The real threat was from Bristol City and with both teams boasting a good defensive record, the game was decided in a moment of magic from a rare set peice goal! Bergkamp with the delivery and it was Rocastle who decided the outcome yet again with some fine finishing!

With Gooners looking like heading into the top division and with the manager making public his team plans for next seaon... it would seem certain players are now desperate to remain part of this squad. We have no other explanation for the recent performances of players such as Seaman, Rocastle, Overmars and the immense Akinfeev this season. Wether any can sway his opinion reamins to be seen but they will take hope from the Campbell saga last season, last season he was on his way out and this season he has been ever present and looks to be developing into quite a formidable player.

Overmars is the player that the manager is currently relying on to fill the void left by Borja, as Rocastle struggles to remain fit and he has done a fine job, although FMRealism will be hoping that Borja is back in action ASAP. Borja himself had only just recently admitted he had fallen in love with this club, and that before arriving at Highbury he had considered retiring. He had all the media attention before his second serious injury after a clumsy challenge just last week, and was keen to make his feelings known.

Although Gooners are no ordinary team and if there was any club that was going to revive his career, then playing under FMRealism could yet be the best career choice Borja has made to date. The Ecuadorian left sided midfielder was tracked by FMRealism for along time before he finally got his man and it is this kind of persistance and belief in specific players that has allowed him to attract players that would normally have turned down a club outside of the top flight.

Borja himself had this to say:

"As I have already said last week this has turned out to be the right move for me, it is a fantastic club with a brilliant footballing philosophy and many talented players. I had considered retiring previously but FMRealism had made public his opinion about me many times and when he came calling I was compelled to find out what was on offer.

I previously had a wonderful spell at Thundercats but for may different reasons things took a turn for the worst, I then moved onto Pop Punk and had a poor season by my standards and found it hard to have the same kind of influence on the game. When I spoke to FMRealism he knew so much about me and my career it was really flattering and his desire to win comes accross immediately, he made it clear that I would be central to his plans and that in his midfield I would again find my lost desire for the game, and most importantly to me when he says Gooners will play top flight football you do not doubt his words for a second.

I think the results are there for all to see, in almost every game I am having some kind of influence or am able to have the deciding kick of the ball. It makes your job alot easier when you look around and see players like Dennis or Kyle and when you look up it is alway nice to have someone of Henrys quality to aim for. With players like these you know there will be chances and aslong as we remain strong there will always be a moment to find the net waiting around the corner.

To pick up two serious injuries this season has been awful not only for myself but also the team... the staff here are brilliant though and I have kept my form well through both injuries and tonight we are waiting for the results of the final scan. I am pencilled in for the Greatness game but tonights scan will decide wether I can make an earlier return for the Carthage fixture. I am dieing to get back into action so I can help the team realise the dream of playing in the RMI, there are many players here that deserve to be playing at the top level.

Having played in the RMI already myself, I am also sure that the way this team is shaping up it will have a good first season and possibly with some minor changes and extra funds we could be challenging immediately. We have the seven point cushion and now it is all ours to lose, what the players must realise is that not only must they give everything on the field but also in training... we will be massive under dogs if we are promoted and out gunned in both skill and club funds. If we want to be challenging next season every player must be giving 150% now in order to level the playing field.

As for myself I hope that even after these two injuries, I am still able to achieve some form of development, I have held my form well and am able to do light training. Wether it be the Carthage or Greatness game that sees me return to action... for sure I will be able to give everything!"

Into the promotion spots.

Carthage FC have finally found themselves in the promotion spot. After a disaster start to the season, gaining 1 point out of the first 12. Carthage have gone from strength to strength and finally leapfrogged their rivals into 3rd place.

Pressure is on for this young squad to remain there for the second half of the season, and there are some difficult and important games on the horizon. It is all to play for and then next game is at home to Bristol City, a win is expected but Blakey0500 is certainly not taking anything for granted.

A strong line up is expected after the recent weeks which saw the youth being given the chance to shine.

The Pundits: Round 15

RM Invitational: Santos FC v Totaalvoetbal
Team aims: Santos are in a difficult position in the table with nothing really to aim for. About the same distance from the title and relegation, Santos will want the points to ensure their safety as well as mount a difficult push for the title, or at least a more respectable position in the table. Totaalvoetbal are chasing the title and are just a point behind league leaders Arsenal DB. This could be Totaal's chance to take the lead in the title challenge as Arsenal DB will be travelling to Meteor Ground, where Flare United are known to clam up against tough teams.
Players: The main driving force for Santos will be Sandström who will look to keep things tight at the back while Fajersson would like to pop in a couple at the other end. Midfielder França will be missing through suspension. No such problems for Totaalvoetbal, who have a full, allrounded squad to choose from.

Division 1: Kensington Boys Club v West Brom Strollers
Team aims: Kensington and West Brom would both like to distance themselves from relegation.
Players: Kensington have a nice, allround squad, but if anything, their standout players will be defenders Wilde and MacRanald, who both like to get forward while being able to keep things tight at the back. Both are dangerous from dead ball situations while Wilde also boasts dominance in the air. Veteran striker Aubrey de Vere will be missing for Kensington through injury. However, Kensington's three skilful young strikers who can all replace him. West Brom do have problems up front, though, with Hughes suspended and his usual strike partner Regis nursing a light injury. Talinmer may pack a strong midfield led by Robson behind Regis to take the burden off his shoulders.

Division 2: FC Bayern Munchen v AC Milan
Team aims: Bayern are on top in the league table and would like to distance themselves further from Legends and EspÃ…da ® while Milan are far from the title this late in the season but could still mount a challenge for promotion.
Players: Star defender Marvin is out injured for Bayern so goalkeeper Syväluoma will have to be on top form today. Forward Pelizzoli is also suspended so Dimentis is left with only one proven striker in Billy Bob. Unless Longcroft plays his first game this season, Bob will be on his own with a strong midfield behind him. New Milan manager Djoxy1983 has a full squad to choose from, but half of his players are young and relatively inexperienced. McCarthy and Grigoriev will protect Mathis in goal while Spina and Lormor will provide extra cover. Sandholm will need help up front but Berg could quickly establish himself in the first team after a brace in his first game of the season against ALLORNOTHING this week.

Division 3: Alsancak F.C v PSV Eindhoven
Team aims: Both Alsancak and PSV are chasing promotion, PSV in second with 31 points, just a single point ahead of Alsancak. Juventus lead with 34 points at the moment.
Players: Both teams are very young. Wienersnitzel will have a headache with Alsancak with defender Rodwell and midfielders Burston and Rose suspended while midfielders Noble and Cattermole are struggling to be fit in time for the clash. Beckett, Muamba and Holby, fresh from scoring his first goal for the club, will be Alsancak's fittest midfielders. PSV have defender Toneletto suspended, leaving them with only four fit defenders. Kadri may want the experienced Pepe Reina in goal after leaving him out for the last two games, while the veteran Tollefson will be Collauto's main source of support from midfield.

Oranje Within One

Totaalvoetbal reduced the deficit at the top of the table to just one point following two home matches over the past week.

Iz’s Flare United made the journey to Metelo Park on Tuesday and their ultra-defensive set-up worked perfectly to take away a point in a 0-0 draw. Try as they might, Totaal just could not find the necessary creativity to feed their forward line and the game ended in frustration.

This left them in the situation of going into the crunch clash with leaders Arsenal DB knowing they almost had to win to rekindle title dreams. The first-half seemed to go to plan for Dom’s side as Arsenal frustrated Totaal and also created the better chances. However, the score remained 0-0 and when Antonello Ballarin came good from a set-piece just after the break you could sense the relief in the Orange shirts. Zlatan Izuhimovic was rewarded for his fine display with a goal late in the game and talisman Pierre van Diemen also netted to complete a 3-0 win which sees the title race simmering nicely.

Ricky give the Ones the Routl-edge

Crimson Tigers catch a glimpse of the talented striker.

He doesn't have the highest score rate, but the 20 year old striker, Ricky Routledge, has bundles of class and ouzes promise. The 7 Million econ rated forward picked up a brace of goals after a failry one sided affair.

The win brings the Ones out of the relegation zone (again) but with a string of tough matches coming up the boys i blue will need to keep their heads and grind out more draws away from home and wins back at The Reccy if the team are to survive.

Spotlight: Round 14

After a week's absence, Spotlight is back again, having been expanded to review a game from each division in every round.

RM Invitational: Totaalvoetbal 3-0 Arsenal DB
Earlier in the season, Arsenal DB recorded a narrow 1-0 victory over Totaalvoetbal at The Emirates. This time, Totaal were out for revenge lined up in an attacking 3-5-2 while DomBrown chose one of my personal favourites, the 5-2-3. The hosts were content to sit back and try to patiently break down a packed Arsenal defence in the first half. Their only chance came when Ballarin almost beat Almunia via a direct freekick, while they were caught on the break twice and very nearly gave away goals but Leemans saved his side both times. Totaal then came out strong in the second half, quickly scoring the opening goal through a Ballarin direct freekick in the 51st minute. Totaal's dominance showed and they would romp to a 3-0 win in the final minutes, Verona redeeming his two earlier mistakes as he set up Izuhimovic for a Maicon-style goal before the midfielder again played provider, assisting Van Diemen for a beautiful long range goal which left Almunia stunned. With that result, Arsenal's lead at the top has been reduced to a single point.

Division 1: Bully Boys FC 1-2 Kensington Boys Club
Bully Boys FC would have loved to pick up all three points yesterday to get themselves more into the promotion fight. However, the erratic Kensington Boys Club were also looking for points to distance themselves from relegation and did well with perfect teamwork in midfield being the key. Bully Boys dominated the first half, but for all their efforts only managed to convert 1 of their 6 chances, and then only by way of an own goal from Maurice Jacobs. Kensington then took centre stage in the second half. With possession staying roughly equal, Kensington's midfield was the difference with first Lockwood smacking a long range shot into the net in the 63rd minute before Jacobs redeemed himself with a header after a corner in the 65th minute. Rumours are that Jacobs has become increasingly unneeded at Kensington this season, only playing 5 games so far as age catches up with him while Patrikpatrik's lads start to mature. Jacobs has been a steady source of goals and assists throughout his seasons at Kensington and could be on his way to another club this summer.

Division 2: AC Milan 3-0 ALLORNOTHING
Djoxy1983 had a triumphant start to life in the RM Invitational as his new side, AC Milan, romped to an easy 3-0 win over ALLORNOTHING. LIVERMOZ has been missing for a while now and his players were in disarray, Heffer for some reason placing himself in defence while star defender Sullivan did not even show up. The hosts quickly took the lead with Berg sending a long range shot past Stancu in the 10th minute. Captain Lormor would follow suit in the 62nd minute before Berg wrapped it up with a second long range shot in the 78th minute while Milan goalkeeper Mathis was literally having a tea party with his defenders at the other end of the pitch.

Division 3: Juventus 3-5 Alsancak F.C
This week's biggest thriller in all of the RMI was the Division 3 match between league leaders Juventus and promotion chasers Alsancak F.C, who got themselves into the promotion zone after this impressive result. The hosts looked to be heading for an easy win after a 1st minute goal by Eliakwu, Namli providing the cross for the midfielder's header. However, Alsancak were level within 5 minutes as a long range shot from Agbonlahor caught Tonetto in poor position. Messi would then put the hosts ahead again with a shot from an Eliakwu corner. However, both sides would go into the break level as Taylor smashed a beautiful freekick into the net in the 41st minute. Alsancak went into the second half with an advantage, though, after Noble had to be taken off injured in the 43rd minute. Young and fresh, Howie Colby came on in his place looking to score his first goal for the club. Once again, the hosts would take the lead through a Li Hiroi penalty, only for the visitors to once again bring the game back to level terms with an Agbonlahor header from a Rodwell corner in the 74th minute. Just a minute later, Alsancak F.C would take the lead for the first time in the game through their own penalty, earned and converted by Burston. Juventus would seal their own doom minutes from time as Canito, who was earlier booked for a rough tackle on Noble, was shown a second yellow, leaving Juve with two tired midfielders. Inside injury time, Colby would finally score his long-awaited first goal for Alsancak as Rose sent an inch-perfect cross into the box for his fellow midfielder.

Difficult To Beat

Once again the All Stars have proven to be thorn against us. They would have probably won that game. But I felt the game was a vital example of why Free Kick takers are always useful.

The BIG news tho. Juve Lost. (I know we wont catch them but it's still nice to know they're not invinsible)

Next up is a tough trip against Alsancak.

Good result, however another injury

These Charming Men performed well to get a 2-0 home victory over bottom 3 side AJ Rovers.

The match didn't start well with Chano Delgado being stretchered off with an injury which puts him out for 5 games, The 3rd long term injury of an influential player this season!

Despite allowing the away side much of the possession in the first half RDCM's men got a 36th minute opener through Gerrard Caffrey set up by the young Higginbottom.

Second half TCM took charge and it was only a matter of time before they got their second Caffrey returning the favour and providing a delightful throughball for Higginbottom to hit home.

Next up are bottom of the table African Imitators.

Too Strong

Arsenal were sent crashing back to earth with a solid defeat by the hands of RMB. Brown tried his best but they are just too strong.

There is only 1 point between them at the top now and they are the same on GD. No one can afford to drop points, but they will along the way

Milan take it All!

AC Milan treated their game against ALLORNOTHING just as their opponents name and got the all. Milan dominated the game from the managerless opposition and ended up with the expected result. As for Milan's 2 debutants the manager was pleased with the performances, with their new striker bagging 2 goals and midfielder putting in an above skilled perfromance.

Milan will have a much tougher fixture next though against the league leaders FC Bayern Muchen.

New manager

Djoxy1983 has taken over AC Milan in Division 2, who seem to have been doing well recently without a manager. Djoxy has presumably come to the RMI after leaving the MSE Premier League and he has inherited a side brimming with youthful talent. I knew little of Djoxy over in the MSE but he seems to be good with youth teams, and hopefully he's just the man to take AC Milan to new heights.

Welcome Djoxy and good luck with your new team!

Deal or MASSIVE Deal

Arsenal pulled off a major bit of business as they managed to recruit a 20/8 GK that is estimated to be worth 12.5 million for just 5.2 million! To make the deal even more sweeter, the young GK started his first warm up match this morning and his form is through the roof.

Brown was said to be seen rolling around on his office floor laughing with tears in his eyes after pulling off such a deal.

Sadly this has opened the door for one of the other keepers to leave Arsenal, an offer has already been received for Almunia and at 36 years of age, Brown was amazed he could even list him.

Arsenal are also waiting on their new striker, a much needed players to give them more attacking options for the remaining fixtures this season.

curious...

Anton Zernov is going to miss his young daughter's birthday as it clashes with the team's next away match. This makes him very unpopular with his daughter, and his wife isn't impressed either, as she wanted help organising the party. However, Anton Zernov is a professional and doesn't allow this to affect his performance, so his form is unaffected.

i wonder how my 19 y.o. players already has wife and kids??

Djoxy1983 arrives at Milan!

AC Milan announced a new manager today as Djoxy1983 took the realms. AC Milan have been left in the dogs bollocks finacially as it apears the last manager was either not the most clever, or was up to no good as he wasted all the teams finances on pointless tactic reports, for games at the beginning of the season for many teams in the division.

Djoxy is having to start from scraps but we have a couple of decent promising players who we can possibly build the team around. It looks like the team relied on older players for quite some time so it's definitely a case of time to rebuild and then invest in new players during the nxt pre season.

A New Admin and a New Face!

It now seems almost certain that our league admin Solongsuperman will not be returning to the game in the near future.

So after discussing the situation in depth with Robinmeeblind in particular amongst others I feel the time is right for me to step up to the helm....assuming noone has any objections.

Eaglesrjh asked me to consider taking on the role when he was forced to walk away from the game due to real life responsibilities, at the time I stood aside however in the absence of Paddy I now feel that I can continue RMB's, Eagles, and Solongsupermans excellent work in making this one of the most enjoyable leagues on the site.

As a couple of you know from playing in The Elitists League, I am not an admin who likes to overstate the position and in truth don't have the time to be hands on and do everything myself, however we've got some excellent assistants and managers who run some great little competitions and write some excellent articles and hopefully that will continue and make my role that little bit easier.

In truth its the members of the league who make it a fun place to be and always has been, so I will be happy to just ensure that the league ticks over nicely, is run fairly; and continues to be active and a friendly place for all.

We have a superb bunch of managers and my initial aim will be to ensure we have a full quota of bosses again as quickly as possible.

One last thing I will mention is that much of my activity is by mobile phone, so often I will view mails etc "On the go" and will reply as soon as possible when back at my computer.

The above post from the forum is now official and I have taken over the admin position in the RM Invitational.

Also please join me in welcoming Djoxy1983 to the league who has taken over the vacant AC Milan position, Good Luck with your new club :-)

Juv gotta be kidding me ?

Going into Anime Allstars latest test they faced the league leaders in the form of Juventus in the reverse fixture, it has been a hard draw to play the top 2 teams twice over in 6 matches. However only after the third match have the plucky Anime team suffered their first defeat to a team from the top 2. Confused ? i know i am so lets look back at how Anime fell victim to the run away express train better known as Juventus, oh and a ref who cannot tell the time !

Luck sometimes can play a big role in a game of football and Anime knew they would need a slice of good luck if they were to see off the title favourites for Division 3. The first half was a dull afair, Anime sat deeper than a sea dwelling creature and prevented the traverling Juventus a single effort on goal for the entire first half. Their facial expressions comming off at half time said it all. Just after the re-start and defender ace Mai Tokiha limped off her match was over, manager joshy showed great concern for his fallen defender. on the 64th minute Li Hiroi lobbed John Sapienza to give Juventus a much deserved lead but the celebrations were cut short when the ref ruled out the goal for handball. Anime's preys had been asnwered and they got their slice of luck. The clocked ticked down and Anime wasted their only 2 efforts on goal. Time added on ticked away and Anime were on the verge of winning another point. Cue the drama for in the 94rd minute Anime's luck had run out. Li Hiroi was mocked after his 64th minute strike was rulled out home fans gave the unfortunate player a roasting in verbal abuse but the last laugh would be his. Li Hiroi's thunderious strike rippled the net and Anime were undone. 0-1 swiftly arrived and several Anime Allstars heads dropped, the side had come so close but failed at the death. Joshy had this to say...

" We were holding them out well for a large portion of the match our dull and defensive tatic was working. In the second half we had 2 chances to cause an upset but failed to do so and deep into time added on we payed the ultimate price. On reflection perhaps Juventus deserved the win but never the less coming so close and yet so far and loosing on the 94th minute is a bitter pill to swallow. The only question i am left with is where on earth did the ref find 4 minutes from we barely created efforts on goal let alone merit 4 minutes of injury time. Its a shame that we got punished in such a matter but we just move on the games are rolling in thick and fast now and they don't get any easier. Up next we face a tricky away trip to PSV who are hot on the heels of Juventus. They know we will come prepared and know how we play, i feel this match will be a battle of tatics just as much as it will be a game of football. All i know is we have the tools and the players to give PSV a headache or two.

In other news i have herd, yet to be confirmed that the league will under go another FA admin change, this time RDCM will take over in the hot seat. If this plans out to be true i wish him the very best and feel he can be the right man for the right job, hopefully he can buy the refs from this league set up new watches ? Im sure my loyal supporters will agree with me here ! "

Bore draw as United creep towards safety

Flare United were content to put all 11 men behind the ball yesterday as they played out a bore draw at Totaalvoetbal's Metelo Park. Izuka's game plan was clearly to get a defensive freekick which he would expect Ernie Ormondroyd to convert in a Paul Robinson-like manner. However, the biased referee did not give anything United's way even with men in red dropping like flies all over the pitch. Miquel Oriol finally went in with a crunching tackle on United's newest signing Philipp Bitzer in the 80th minute, but even then he only picked up a booking and the resulting freekick went Totaalvoetbal's way.

A sickening way for United to inch towards top flight survival but Izuka will be glad for the point all the same. On the plus side, the quality of the hot dogs being sold in the Metelo Park stands have drastically improved since the last time Izuka was there.

Arsenal 4 Points Clear

Arsenal went 4 points clear at the top of the RMI after a hard win over The Vikings. They were clever and marked the only striker they knew we could play, it nearly paid off but on the 5th attempt the ball was finally in the back of the net.

Up next is a season defining match as Arsenal face Totaalvoetbal away. The strongest team with one of the best managers, not too much to ask eh!!

Arsenal are hoping to have 2 new signings by then, a striker and a new goalie (more details to come after the deal is done)

3 Points

At this stage of the season I dont care how we get the 3 points, just as long as we get them. The teams in 3rd 4th 5th and 6th position are chasing us quite aggresively. There is no point worrying about Juve so we have to watch out behind us. Next we play the Anime boys. Last time we played it was a good game. I expect a better team to show up. There will be no under-estimating them.
