Fans got their value for money this Tuesday evening at the Drought Circle. An interested match was unleashed on their senses when African Imitators met Bonkers. The managers might be family but this was a battle royale not a sunday luncheon. The result was always going to be interesting as the first head to head between these two teams saw Bonkers thumping African Imitators 6-1 earlier this season. Both teams required points but for different reasons. African Imitators are promotion hopefuls but Bonkers are staring down the barrel of the religation gun.
In the first minute Bonkers opened up the lead and it looked like it was going to be another thumping for the home side. But it was not to be, aggressive play from the home side saw them dominate the possession and soon drew level. Minutes later they were 2-1 up but that was not the last of it. They soon put in a thrid to take a two goal lead before the half time break. Bonkers was not down and out though, the second half saw them getting numerous chances but only to see the deficit extended to 4-1. They soon scored a second and the away fans were screaming for more. Alas, it was African Imitators to score a 5th, Savo Milosivic netting his fourth in the game a truely inspirational performance to earn him man of the match. But it was not over, Bonkers desperate for points came back to score a third. It was too little too late for the away side, the final whistle going as the man of the match tried to net his fifth goal of the match, some how not satisfied with four. The whistle brought to an end a match to remember for both sides, one for the record books of how not to defend and how to score goals. The goalskeepers may need a well earned rest after this clash....
