5 star Vikings Display
The Vikings dominated Liverpool in a match that demonstrates the two teams changing fortunes since both being promoted last season.
The intent was clear as early as the 7th minute when Bonavia hit a shot just over on 7 minutes. He then found the net with a piledriver of a shot on 10 minutes after being picked out by Tolley. Bonavia was the only man involved at this point and he shot just wide on 12. Bonavia continued his domination of the first half when on 36 minutes he chipped in his second after a ball by Strachan. 2-0 half time of a Bonavia inspired first half.
The Vikings midfield was bossing the game and it was inevitable more goals were coming. Crouch got on the score sheet on 47 nodding home a corner from Ahlm. Liverpool then suddenly woke up and Keane pulled one back from a Riera corner on 55. Babel then hit the crossbar on 57 as Liverpool looked to launch an unlikely comeback. Keane then narrowly missed on 67. MAcfinlay then also hit the bar on 73 as Liverpool at least showed some spirit. Any Vikings nerves were settled on 76 as they were awarded a penalty, with Liverpool pushing hard it was decided regular taker Tassiopoulos would have responsibility despite Bonavia being on a hat-trick. Tassiopoulos confidently put the penalty away to seal the game. Crouch then headed to close to the keeper om 82 as Liverpools spirit was broken. There was just time for the impressive Bonavia to seal his hat-trick with a long range effort on 89 after Crouch had found him in space. 5-1 at full time, with 8 chances to 4 and 60% possesion in the Vikings favour.
Eaglesrjh was still in cautious mood despite the big win saying "It was an important win against a team in the relegation zone and that is still our main concern, we must win these games and have enough points to be safely clear of relegation before considering if a promotion push is possible."
