Vikings hear no thunder!!

The Vikings bounced back from defeat away at Goals Aloud with a comprensive victory at home to Tropical Thunder.

Clint Bonavia got back to scoring ways on 13 when he headed home a ball from Tassiopoulos, then when almandis struck home an excellent freekick on 18 the Vikings were already looking very confident. Tassiopoulos then made it 3 goals from 3 chances when he struck home on 33 after being picked out in the box by Almandis. 3-0 half time with the Vikings in total control of the football.

Thunder came out the second half looking a bit bewildered but managed to create an opportunity on 55 but Dainelli missed the target with his header. Almandis then hit a freekick to close to the keeper on 66 as the Vikings looked to extend their lead. Irwin then also headed to close to the keeper on 68. The Vikings then became quite happy to conserve some energy and see out tnelli he game with minimum fuss the only chance falling to Dainelli on 77 but his lob sailed over. There was time for Falcioni to pick up a second yellow card on 80 minutes but the Vikings saw no need ro push on and punish Tropical Thunder any more. 3-0 full time with the Vikings midfield dominating with 63% possesion.

Eaglesrjh was in good mood after the game saying "We needed to bounce back after the disappointment of the last game and the boys did this well, it was a great first half perfomance and a professional second half one." When quizzed about murmurings from other areas that the Vikings might be promotion challngers he responded "I'm more concerned that that is now ove a third of the season gone and we are 8 points clear of the relegation zone! We were only promoted last season so lets just concentrate on consolidating our position just now. That said we look to win every game and if we can be in a position with a third of the season left then we will push hard" "there is more positive news as well, Justin Portway is almost match fit and may be included in the match day squad for the game against Pahang."
