Team Canada Gold!

After taking a break from hectic events from the RM Invitational, manager Sean7 flew back to his home country to view the gold medal hockey game between Canada and the United States. The atmosphere was lively from the get-go, and one could feel the whole continent's eyes on the oval ice rink. Things started well in the Canadians, jumping to an early 2-0 lead.

In the second period however, the Americans fought back with a goal of their own slicing the lead in half, as well as the cheers, for the home crowd could sense something.
In the third and final period, with 57.1 seconds remaining, the U.S. once again poured enormous pressure on the Canadian net, and eventually tied the game. The crowd was shell-shocked. Things were going into over-time.

At this point, with two consecutive goals, the crowd could sense that the U.S. had momentum going into overtime. However, after the intermission, Team Canada saw differently. Jarome Iginla threaded a pass to Sidney Crosby's stick. Time stood still, goosebumps, wide eyes, breath stopped...

The black puck flitted the mesh net as the horn sounded. Canada won the gold medal! General Motors Place had reached new levels of pandemonium, fans crying, cheering, happy, and above all...exhausted.

A Santos reporter had also happened to be within the confines of Canadian hockey's historical moment, and spotted the manager in his red and white jersey, soaked in cheap booze, hair ruffled, and a minx on either arm.

The reporter quickly caught up to the manager to give some insight on this game.

'This was a good lesson for me, in winning. I've felt these same pressures when coaching my squad, and I want the team to learn from this game. Applying pressure, gritty defence, bending but not breaking. The lessons..imparted by...'

Suddenly, the manager took off his jersey swung it wildly in the air, exclaiming

'Oh who am I kidding, we WON!!!!'

No report yet as to when the manager will be back to resume his managerial duties. Hangovers can be a tricky thing.
