Reflection

The gentle breeze and the quiet of the now empty Shiek Zayed Stadium, made even the glaring stadium lights seem peaceful by comparision to just an hour ago when it was full of roaring fans surging emotions. I opened my buttoned suit jacket to let the breeze cool down my sweating body and watch as a piece of debris drifted across the open field and quietly contemplated the days events.

Well another day, another loss. The Shiek is gonna be pissed. Its a good thing he's not a screamer.

Leaning back against the cold bench I stretched out my arms and legs to keep them from getting too stiff and sore.

You know despite that being one heck of a game, I mean the winning goal in the 80th minute!, it seems like somethin is missing. Like its just not the way it ought to be.

Its Mahon you know. You miss him.

Ah yes thats it. I'll miss that kid. People like him don't come around very often. That kid was gonna be the crown jewel of this team. The crowd loved him too.

The Shiek wasn't happy about it either.

Yeah well he can suck it. He's the one who got me stuck in a place where I had to get rid of Mahon in the first place. Ah well, whats done is done. Time to get this team back on track.

With a creak and a groan I lifted myself off the bench and started the slow walk back to the locker room and the irate team and staff that surely awaited me.
