Cressex Cruise

Cressex continued to show much improved form in an excellent 4-1 away win at Real Madrid. The sides exchanged early chances with Samvel Mortanian heading wide for the hosts while Tryggvi Valsson had his shot blocked by Nigosian. Lauro Poggi then struck a free-kick wide for the visitors while Mortanian shot wide at the other end as the match continued to too-and-fro. Cressex would eventually make the breakthrough on 27 minutes with Tomas Tiribocchi heading precisely into the corner of the net and the lead might have been doubled had Pasqual Arellano shown a cooler head in front of goal. Madrid served warning that they were still dangerous when a Kapo Kachadorian header brushed the post on 33 minutes. A key moment of the game then unfolded four minutes later as Lagerstrom was shown red for committing a foul as the last man and Madrid had to face up to playing the rest of the contest with 10-men. Cressex nearly took advantage of this before half-time as Valsson hit the post with the goal beckoning. Chances continued to flow in the second-half and it was Valsson who would make it 2-0 with a strike from distance. Madrid, however, would show great character in hitting straight back via a Mortanian header but they couldn’t prevent chances at the other end. Poggi had a free-kick saved for Cressex before Mortanian looked to bring Madrid level with a low shot which struck a post before Davit Ohanesian shot wide. Madrid continued to show great commitment but Gabriele’s luck was out with a shot which hit the angle and Cressex dominated the closing moments. Poggi made it 3-1 with a toe-poke while Luca Scolza came within inches of making it four as his header brushed a post. The fourth goal did arrive courtesy of a diving header by Poggi and, although Madrid had a late free-kick go close, Cressex ran out comfortable winners. Villan_RAS now has his side winning games and if they can find form to go with this they will be a tough proposition for the remainder of the season. FredRizzo will not overreact as he knows how important the sending-off was to the game but he will hope his side suffers no adverse reaction for Friday’s game.

White Hawk moved up the table as they dispatched The Lone Wanderers 1-0 at White Stadium. The home side would dominate play but Adan Donahue couldn’t direct two free-kick opportunities on target in the opening 14 minutes. The Wanderers briefly broke away but Deano Elmes couldn’t make the most of his chance and Hawk soon regained the initiative. Ryan Dharmsingh was the next to have a chance but he shot straight at the ‘keeper and the half-time score would remain 0-0. The game continued to be littered with injuries and yellow cards but it wouldn’t stop Hawk from remaining on top. However, a lob from Clyde Nageswar wouldn’t bring the opening goal and the tension in the crowd was obvious. Another Donahue free-kick passed without troubling the ‘keeper but Hawk did eventually find the breakthrough. It came as Mario Asongie lobbed a header home from a corner to break The Wanderers' resistance and make sure the home side emerged with the points. Hooraymee has now seen his side go unbeaten in three games and they are moving into a promising position as they halfway point arrives. HH will be keen to recover from illness quickly so he can set about moulding his side into the unit he craves.

Charlottenburg edged out Futsal to maintain their grip at the head of the table. Paul Scholes missed an early opportunity for the visitors as he put a diving header wide and Darren Anderton would head at Mizumura as they continued to press. Futsal had a chance of their own but Rowley Forrester couldn’t find his range from a free-kick and this would prove the last effort of the half. Samson Heskey put a header well over as Futsal started well but they would find themselves behind on 55 minutes. Kevin Phillips stunned the home crowd with a brilliant diving header which flew into the net to illustrate just why they are top of the league. Rick Tuttle tried to respond in kind at the other end but Paul Robinson was well-positioned as was Miumura when Scholes headed on goal late on. Still, Potsdamerplatz will be happy that his side maintained their unbeaten run and kept their lead intact at the top of the table. Jake has seen his side drop into the relegation places and will want his players to respond with a victory at the first available opportunity.

These Charming Men put in an excellent home performance to leave Kroklund Kings pointless in a 3-0 win. A strong first-half showing formed the basis for their victory with Vaios Pakaltsis forcing the best out of Tolvanen on 17 minutes. A free-kick saw their next chance with Tord Jakobsen demanding Tolvanen tip the ball over. TCM would take the lead on 29 minutes but it would come from a fortuitous source as Toini Vasama put past his own ‘keeper. Chano Delgado kept up the pressure by producing an excellent diving header which made it 2-0 moments later and Pakaltsis and Streicher had efforts go close. Aatu Vuokki nearly gave the game a different complexion but his effort struck the bar and Pakaltsis forced Tolvanen into further work before half-time at the other end. The second-half would slow down somewhat but TCM maintained their superiority. Constantino Gris and Shaun McFadden both had efforts easily saved by the ‘keeper before the home side did make it 3-0. Again it would come from a brilliant diving header by Delgado as the visiting defence once more failed to pick him up. RDCM spoke of it being ‘another good win’ and stated that his side are coming together ‘slowly but surely.’ Bossebong has seen his side slip down the table on the back of the defeat but they are still well in touch with the promotion battle and they will look to rectify matters with a home match against Futsal on Friday.

Juventus edged Los Samgeles Kings by the odd goal in seven as they put on a show for fans at the Staples Center. The Kings would start fast with a Torben Kummel header proving too powerful for Fuentes in the Juve goal. Orlan Canito missed an opportunity to level for the visitors before Jacobo Chacros curled home a free-kick to make it 1-1. Derek Armstrong was denied as the Kings responded and they would retake the lead as Dustin Brown flicked a header home. The Kings then pressed the self destruct button, though, and Tom Preissing levelled the playing field when he headed past his own ‘keeper. In keeping with a breathtaking opening half Brown had a goal disallowed just before the break for offside and the sides went in level at 2-2. Chacros had one early effort go wide before he put Juve into the lead on 54 minutes when he steered the ball past Cloutier. However, they weren’t to hold onto the lead for long as Ladislav Nagy headed home seven minutes later. Chacros would prove the match winner, though, as he shot home following a corner on 71 minutes although both sides would have further chances. Canito had been shown a red-card for elbowing before Nagy was denied an equaliser by Fuentes. Eliakwu looked to make the game safe but couldn’t get enough power on his side-footed shot and at the other end Nagy was desperately unfortunate not to equalise when he saw a free-kick hit a post. Stripy’s side are now back in the drop zone and they will need to tighten up defensively to push up the table. SuperJuve sees his side move out of the relegation zone following their exciting win and they will hope to build on the performance in a home match against Madrid.

Mortimer Wainman put in a stunning individual performance to lead Internazionale to a 5-0 win at Norfolk N Chance. He set Chris Sutton up for a long range opener on three minutes and would go on to have a hand in all of the visitor’s goals. Edip Bayrak forced Olausson into a save as Inter looked to make it 2-0 while Norfolk saw Tajo Juanjo get his effort horribly wrong at the other end. Leopoldo Valadao did force Matua into a save as Norfolk improved although they did nearly gift the visitors a second goal as Rowan Whitlow misdirected a header onto his own goal. Sutton thought he had made it 2-0 with a perfect lob just after the half-hour but he was clearly offside and they had to settle for a 1-0 half-time lead. The goals did arrive in the second-half with Favio Polonia finishing off a clever breakaway on 57 minutes. Philip Calderwood steered in number three as the hosts began to tire. Dan Ruffer fired well wide for the hosts before Sutton made it 4-0 from a breakaway and a clinical strike from Calderwood completed the rout on 91 minutes. GarethLloyd was pleased with a ‘great performance’ from Wainman and claimed that ‘it was a great display of pure football’ from the side. Things don’t change for Norfolk who continue to prop things up without any goals but they will be judged on future seasons.
