Win was for the Gaffer!

WBS overcame Totaalvoetbal 3-1 at The Hawthorns this evening. In a dominant display Strollers created 12 chances and enjoyed 61% possession.

Things didn't start too well for Strollers though as they fell behind to a Van Diemen penalty. Strollers hit back on 31 minutes Robert Koren firing past the keeper. They then took the lead on 40 minutes Richard Sneekes hitting a ferocious shot past the helpless keeper. Strollers picked up their usual injury, Darren Moore the victim. It didn't put Strollers off their stride though as they continued to pressure and were rewarded on 73 minutes when they were awarded a penalty. Tony Brown cooly converting from 12 yards.

Far from the rantings and raving of a few days ago, reporters struggled to hear the goings on in the WBS dressing room. The players emerged all smiling after a well earned win. again only club captain Robson passed comment, "the gaffer told us thats the kind of performence he expects from us. We told hjim the win was for him. As players we need to stand up and be counted"

A tired looking Dinky did spare a few words "i'm delighted with the performence levels today, every player earned their corn. Thats what i'm looking for from these players, this is what their capable of"

The return tie next week and Strollers will be looking for a similar result
