Totaalvoetbal succumbed to their second straight 3-1 defeat against West Brom Strollers as the fans started to reach for their panic buttons.
While the game was closer than the first between the sides there was still a big enough gulf for the result never to be in any real doubt.
West Brom were quickly out of the blocks and had already seen Brendon Baston toe-poke over by the time Rex Rimmer had to save well from Tony Brown’s powerful header.
An injury to Baston didn’t seem to bother the Strollers as Robert Koren fired in the opener on 23 minutes from some way out. With Totaal completely becalmed West Brom finished the half on a high and took a two-goal lead into the break courtesy of a clinical Cyrille Regis header.
Totaal did start the second-half brightly and Shivan Preetnav shocked the stadium by bringing them back into it with a header of real quality. Unfortunately for Totaal, though, it was a case of good news, bad news as Rodney Shuttelwood suffered a serious-looking injury to stop any momentum they might have gained.
Tony Brown tried to capitalise immediately but Rimmer held well from his curled effort while Preetnav hit a similar shot at the other end to demand excellence out of Tony Godden.
West Brom sealed a deserved win on 82 minutes as Regis proved too powerful for the home defence once more to place an effort beyond Rimmer and into the net. If only West Brom could play them every week.
Meeblind was in an honest mood at the press conference:
"We are in a bad position right now and it won't be helped by having Metelo, Juffing and Shuttlewood out of our next match," he began.
"It looks like it will get worse before it gets better.
"On a positive note, though, I'd like to wish Dinky all the best for his big day on Friday. It seemed only right that I gave him six points as a wedding present. I'm sure his better half will be delighted with such a gift."
