Internazionale made it three wins on the bounce as they put in a solid away performance to defeat Cressex 1-0. Inter had the perfect start as a lob from Joel Weymouth gave them an early lead to protect. They managed to do this without alarm for the remainder of the half and went into the sheds in confident mood. Two nasty injuries marred the second-half as Karahira of Inter and Scolza of Cressex were taken off and now face a period out of the game. In between Tomas Tiribocchi forced Hawke into a good stop in the Inter goal as Cressex looked for a way back before Philip Calderwood lashed a free-kick over at the other end. Cressex would have one final chance but Pasqual Arellano’s lob went over the bar and the points were Inters. GarethLloyd explained that ‘it is always nice to win a match away from home’ and claimed ‘everyone is happy’ as they sit in second. Villan_RAS will expect his side to bounce back from this defeat as they travel to Norfolk on Tuesday.
White Hawk continued to move in the right direction as they ended Charlottenburg’s undefeated start to the season with a 3-1 away victory. It might have been a different story had Rob Lee’s early volley been better directed but it would be Hawk who would take the lead. The shrugged off an injury to Glenn Rijssel as Matts Perman toe-poked home in the area as the home defence struggled to react. A lob by Michael Owen failed to bring the equaliser and Hawk extended their lead as Adan Donahue calmly side-footed home in the penalty area. The second-half saw Hawk extend their lead through Donahue; following the award of a free-kick the midfielder left Robinson motionless as he curled it round the wall and into the net. Paul Scholes did manage to pull one back for the hosts with a fine header but Hawk might have made the victory more emphatic as Perman and Byron Somaroe wasted late chances. Nevertheless it was a great victory for the Hawk who now sit in fourth spot and just three points behind the top three; having led his team to promotion before, Hooraymee might just be getting the taste for something special again. Potsdamerplatz will be disappointed with the defeat and will want his side to move on quickly as the chasing pack close up.
These Charming Men remained in the hunt with a confident 3-1 home victory over Los Samgeles Kings. The home side were unlucky not to take a twelfth minute lead as Tord Jakobson’s free-kick crashed back off the angle of post and bar. Ladislav Nagy tried to take advantage of this reprieve but his shot was nowhere near the target and the game remained goalless. The visitors would hit the front, however, as Derek Armstrong flicked a header home on 22 minutes to stun the home crowd. TCM were stung into action by this setback, though, and were quickly level; Vaios Pakaltsis producing a piece of class with a lob which left Cloutier watching the ball go over him and into the net. The second-half would be a different story as TCM dominated. Linus Streicher had the first chance of the half and made no mistake in placing the ball past the ‘keeper to put the hosts 2-1 up. The home side were now in confident mood and Loran Rajabi doubled their advantage by powering a header home from a Gerard Caffery cross. Alexander Frolov saw red for the visitors who were indebted to Cloutier for keeping the score respectable as Rajabi and Jordi Rodri tried to add to the home tally. RDCM was satisfied with a ‘good win which keeps us in the top 3’ and the ambitious boss will surely be eyeing Division One football in the not too distant future. Stripy will be aware of the need for his side to get a win soon as they sit next to bottom but he will be confident they have enough to get themselves out of the situation they are in.
Kroklund Kings returned to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 home victory over Futsal. The visitors started well and Rowley Forrester had a free-kick go wide before having a second attempt saved by the ‘keeper. Kroklund burst into life on 28 minutes as Curt Elliott flicked a header on goal only to see it rebound off a post and the game would remain goalless at half-time. Futsal had the first chance of the second-half as Jermaine Asher had a powerful effort but he would miss the target and they would pay the price. Elliott was the tormentor at the other end as he put a lob over Mizumura to give Kroklund an 80th minute lead. Trudell Conway tried to make it 2-0 but hit straight at the ‘keeper while a late Danny Shorey header threatened to save a point for the visitors but Kangashaka made the save. The win sees bossebong’s side move up to fifth and, with just three points separating them from top, promotion remains a possibility. Jake will be worried by his side’s run of results but everyone at the club remain confident that the young coach will turn their fortunes around.
The Lone Wanderers kept themselves in the right area of the table with a 4-0 triumph at Norfolk N Chance. Norfolk came flying out of the blocks but Erik Gall couldn’t direct his header very well and Dustin Digby hit a free-kick at Peyton as their attacks ended in disappointment. The visitors would have more success with their first effort as Nana Adella produced an accurate header to put them 1-0 up. It would be 2-0 with their next chance as William MacAvish placed the ball expertly through the legs of Olausson to boost the visitors going into half-time. The sides traded early chances at the outset of the second-half with Stephen Julius finding the ‘keeper well-placed as he looked to extend the visitor’s advantage before Arthur Norton shot wide at the other end. The third goal did arrive for the Wanderers courtesy of a penalty with MacAvish making no mistake from the spot. MacAvish would complete a personal triumph on 70 minutes as he scored his hat-trick goal with an excellent diving header. He tried to add his fourth but the crossbar denied his powerfully curled effort and the Wanderers would settle for a 4-0 win. The win keeps them in and around the top and with HH back the club is said to be ‘overjoyed.’ Howemiester will be pleased with a more attacking performance and will be doing his best to keep the side upbeat as the matches pass.
Juventus and Real Madrid fought out a competitive 1-1 draw at the Delle Alpi in an intriguing game. Juventus had the first chance of the contest but Sandro Manetti missed the target with a half-volley. They would be unfortunate with their next effort as Claude Blanquet hit a volley which left Nersesian beaten but thankful for his crossbar which came to his rescue. Madrid shook their hosts as they took the lead with their first effort on target; Samvel Mortanian planting a header into the far corner to give them a half-time lead. This lead would only last minutes into the second-half, though, as Adalberto Di Cintio thrashed an effort into the goal to level matters. Kevin Gabriele looked to put Madrid back in front but he saw his diving header strike wood. Both sides had a further chance to win the game but neither Raf Tudisco nor Stu Mackay could get the necessary accuracy on their efforts and the game would end level. SuperJuve has his side unbeaten in their last three matches and and he will be hopeful they can continue this form and move further away from the relegation zone. FredRizzo will be pleased with his side’s response to their defeat last time out and a couple of wins will have them right back in the thick of the title race.
