Hawks Flying Again

White Hawk FC beat Kroklund Kings 3-0 to continue their move up the Division Two standings. Keeping the visitors under wraps, Hawk created numerous chances en route to victory. Matts Perman wasted an early one as he lobbed a header over and fared little better with his next effort which was tipped over comfortably by Kangashaka. Hawk continued their indifferent finishing when a Charly Chan Jet Soe volley went flying over and with the half-time score 0-0 they may have been forgiven for wondering if it was to be their day. Hawk would then take some time to get going in the second-half but would cut loose late on. A powerfully hit long range shot by Ryan Dharmsingh sent them on their way as he left Kangashaka helpless. Perman continued his headed woes as he misplaced one when well-positioned and Adan Donahue was unfortunate with a cheeky toe-poke. Dharmsingh, though, was operating on a different plane to the rest of his team-mates and a cleverly placed effort defeated the ‘keeper to make it 2-0. Giovanni Jap A Joe crashed a low drive into a post as the attacks kept coming and Dharmsingh had a super volley well-saved by Kangashaka before shooting straight at him. The forward wouldn’t be denied his hat-trick, though, as he powered in an effort in injury-time to leave the visitors well beaten. Hooraymee has his side within striking distance of the promotion area and they look full of confidence and goals. Bossebong won’t be happy with the final 30 minutes which saw his side capitulate but he will undoubtedly get better out of them in their next match against Charlottenburg.

Internazionale hit the top spot thanks to a 4-1 home victory over Juventus. Juve would actually have the first chance of the game but Jacobo Chacros hit a lob well over. Chacros would do better with his next effort but Mantua was the equal to it in goal and Inter survived. Inter would emerge from this slow start with Mortimer Wainman having their first chance with a good header which needed some theatrics from Fuentes to keep out. Inter would then have to cope with an injury to Stephen Lorimer but they did so in style to fire themselves into a two-goal lead. The first came from a looping header by Innocenzio Filippinetti on 31 minutes and just moments later Elton Hills also found enough room to plant a header beyond Fuentes and into the goal. Hills continued their aerial dominance at the start of the second-half but could only watch on in dismay as it came back off a post. However, they didn’t have to wait long before it was 3-0 as a penalty was duly dispatched by Philip Calderwood. Edip Bayrak went close with a lob before Juve struck back through a header by Chacros. This didn’t have any sort of impact on the game, though, and Wainman made it 4-1 with a super half-volley. Inter boss GarethLloyd laid down the gauntlet to future opponents by saying they would ‘have to think up betters tactics’ to beat them. SuperJuve has seen his side slip into the relegation zone and will know they have to perform better than this to move up the table.

Charlottenburg FC slipped from first place after being held 1-1 at The Lone Wanderers. A bright first-half opened up with William MacAvish brushing a post for the hosts while Matthew Upson fired a free-kick wide at the other end. Max Jekyll might have done better with a toe-poke and Niall Hedges was denied by Robinson as the home side tried to assert themselves. However, Charlottenburg would hit them with a sucker-punch as Leonardo Zico fired in from a narrow angle to put them ahead. Deano Elmes didn’t waste any time in bringing the hosts level, though, as he let fly from range to leave Robinson stunned. The second-half was quieter with a chance at either end. Upson brushed a post with a quality free-kick while from a set-piece at the other end MacAvish had the misfortune of hitting the angle of post and bar. In the end both sides would have to settle for a point apiece as they continue their respective campaigns. HH thought his side ‘deserved to win’ although he appreciated how dangerous the visitors could be. With future restructuring coming at Charlottenburg it remains to be seen whether Potsdamerplatz can lead his side to a long-awaited title but they still have every chance.

These Charming Men remained in the hunt after they took a point from an exciting game with Real Madrid. In a game of exceptional finishing both sides would net three out of their five chances to keep the fans thoroughly enthralled. Loran Rajabi would set the tone for the visitors with a brilliant diving header after three minutes which gave TCM the lead. TCM nearly gifted this advantage straight back to Madrid, though, as Tord Jakobson hit his own post with a dangerous back-pass. They wouldn’t escape for long, however, as Pasi Lintu placed his shot beautifully beyond Avellino to level matters. This would be the last of the goalmouth action until the second-half where TCM took a hold of the game. After surviving an early chance from Lintu, TCM began creating some good opportunities. Shaun McFadden struck from inside the penalty area after being put through by Jordi Rodri before firing over minutes later. Their third goal wouldn’t be long in coming as Linus Streicher produced a well-placed finish beyond Nersesian to put TCM two goals ahead. Rodri might have made things worse for Madrid with a powerful low shot but it went well wide and the hosts hit back. Samvel Mortanian curled home a free-kick to give them hope before he shot home from a tight angle with ten minutes to go to level matters. Both sides played out the rest of the game conscious of not wanting to give their point away and the fans would give them a standing ovation at the final whistle. RDCM was a ‘little disappointed’ after giving away a two-goal lead but was ‘happy with a point against a strong Real Madrid side.’ Madrid remain in mid-table and, despite their comeback, will want even more from their trip to Futsal on Friday.

Futsal FC didn’t prepare for that match in the best fashion as they were outplayed at Los Samgeles Kings and went down to a 2-0 defeat. Evgeni Malkin might have given the Kings an early lead but placed his header straight at Mizumura who made the save. The chances would keep coming for the hosts, though, with Ladislav Nagy firing in a free-kick on 28 minutes to open the scoring. Derek Armstrong brought the best out of Mizumura with a headed chance before the second goal did arrive. Dustin Brown was the scorer as he showed great composure to round the ‘keeper and slot in on 40 minutes. A flick header by the same player was easily held by the cat as they looked for further goals and Mizumura was on hand again to deny Nagy with a brilliant save from a free-kick. The Kings continued the onslaught in the second-half but Brown couldn’t really test the ‘keeper and Anze Kopitar then gave the cat a chance to make a theatrical save from a diving header. Derek Armstrong was sent-off for elbowing for the hosts and Futsal did have a free-kick effort from Rowley Forrester but it went well over. The Kings might also have added further goals but Nagy’s header went over before he blasted a free-kick against the outside of a post. Stripy will be delighted his side have moved out of the drop zone and if they can put back-to-back wins together they can maybe start to look up the table. Jake’s side appear to be struggling at present and they will put a big emphasis on taking three points in their next game to begin some progress up the table.

Cressex strolled to a routine win over the young Norfolk N Chance side to open up a little gap on the relegation spots. Norfolk suffered an early injury to Leopoldo Valadao and might have gone behind had Tomas Tiribocchi been able to direct his header a little better. They were behind on 13 minutes as Carasario Falcioni directed a shot past Olausson to open the scoring. It was 2-0 with Cressex’s next chance; Lauro Poggi powering home a low long range shot to give them a comfortable advantage. Falcioni might have added a third but Olausson produced a good save however he was powerless to save a strong shot from distance by Roque Guiterrez. Cressex were a little disappointing after the break as Norfolk managed to close the game down to prevent further goals. Nevertheless it was a successful evening for Villan_RAS who will now hope his side can continue their improved form. Howemiester will continue his act of patience as he nurtures his team onto the hope of better things.
