Milan crushed in double header

Three Lions FC crushed AC Milan in the mid-season double header this week as the Whites moved up to fourth place in the league table. It was a tricky trip to the San Siro early in the week, Izu Casillas scoring the opening goal from the penalty spot in the 10th minute. However, Jonte Sandholm equalised for the hosts shortly before the halftime break. The Whites took their time but eventually came up with the winning goal in the second half, Zlatan Izuhimovic breaking away from the Milan defence to pick up a José Bosingwa through ball and fire past Julian Speroni in the 53rd minute.

The return leg was far easier for Three Lions FC, as Izuka opted to rest both Izuhimovic and Casillas. The hosts wasted no time in getting their first goal as Luca Tonizu combined with fellow young striker Fernando Mello to score in the 5th minute. Robin van Izu then latched onto a Cesc Izukas through ball to score in the 26th minute, before Izukas himself turned scorer in the 28th minute, combining with Izuael Clichy to carve apart the Milan defence and slip the ball past Speroni. Another 3-minute period in the second half yielded yet another two goals as Nani set up Mello for a 25-yard breakaway run before Izukas scored his second, heading in a Luca Tonizu cross in the 53rd minute. The only silver lining for AC Milan will be that their captain for the day, Victor Moses, scored a consolation goal in the 81st minute.

"They may have been Italian champions and European champions, but AC Milan have not yet beaten Three Lions FC in a competitive game. I think we have a pretty decent chance of surviving in the top flight this season, but there are no guarantees so we must keep working hard," said Izuka to reporters after the game.
