Tottenham Hotspur won their first ever match as an RMI side by edging Reggae Reggae Sauce 1-0 at White Hart Lane. With both sides going into the contest in poor form an edgy encounter was expected but Tottenham displayed plenty of drive to deserve their win. A free-kick on two minutes saw Tomas Master hit well-wide but it served to get the crowd into the game. Robbie Keane would then have a header saved by Mullen before Wallace Albright had a steered effort held. The second-half would see the game have chances at either end as the teams looked for a rare three points. Deni Capeta would open the scoring for the hosts by thumping in a stunning long range shot on 58 minutes. This brought a response from RRS but Christiano Torres’ shot was held by Gomes while Master’s free-kick was kicked away by Mullen at the other end. Master would have another opportunity on 74 minutes but Mullen made a comfortable save while Franciszek Kamiski’s half-volley was easily saved for RRS. Capeta would waste a good headed chance to give RRS a lifeline but Torres could only head against a post with their last chance in injury-time. Ocs was delighted with his side’s win while also declaring himself ‘chuffed that they created a few chances as well.’ Xpertelevener’s side find themselves at the foot of the league now but it remains to be seen whether the only way is up.
Meanwhile, at the top of the division Morley were held for the first time this season by an impressive Crimson Tigers side. With Morley perfect for the season going in and Crimson fielding a young side all the pointers were towards another home win. Crimson enjoyed the first chance but Marcelo Argello missed the target with a free-kick. Morley would have an ideal chance to open the scoring on 29 minutes but Dustin Wotton put a free-kick wide before Reno Robredo hit the woodwork with a thumping header just before the break. Crimson would have a penalty chance of their own to start the second-half but Miroslav Burkhart put it wide much to Morley’s relief. Byron Greening would have the final chance of the game but his header couldn’t find the target and both sides took away a point each. Paul admitted it was ‘probably’ a good point before adding that his side are ‘ahead of schedule this season.’ Leeg21 will be disappointed with his side’s inability to perform to the standards they have set so far this term but with 28 points out of a possible 30 no-one at Morley will be too distressed.
EspAda would gain ground on Morley after overcoming Rolling Thunder 3-1 thanks to a dramatic finish. Having lost their last game everyone at Huco Mundo was demanding a return to winning ways in the hope of chasing down the impressive leaders. The first-half would be relatively quiet with just one chance. However, it would bring with it the opening goal as Patric Torebring headed in accurately from a Demiray cross. The second-half would see more goalmouth action as the game intensified. A free-kick saw Andreas Sommer hit the angle for the hosts before Diego Maradona had a shot saved by McArraway. Sommer would try his luck again on 63 minutes but his free-kick went wide before Ezequiel Garay had Thunder’s first chance saved by Kerrigan. Thunder would indeed level on 85 minutes as Erland Hangeland rounded the ‘keeper to slot home accurately. This only served in stirring the home side into action, though, and Andrea Gualco hit his straps from distance to restore the lead. Frederik Smit would then lob in a third on 89 minutes to cap a fine home triumph. Zihni Demiray would miss a late chance for the hosts but with the three points secure Huco Mundo celebrated. Crismorena can return this focus to catching the leaders now and they will travel to 1863 Munich in good heart. Vehusheia will expect better from his side in a home match against Anime as they bid to close the seven-point gap at the top.
Alsancak still complete the top three but they were frustrated by a good away display by Anime Allstars. Having won their last game Anime travelled in good heart but were up against a side who had exceeded expectations so far this term to hold a promotion spot. The visitors would enjoy much the better of the opening 45 minutes as they produced some good football. Sonsaku Hakufu placed a shot against a post early on before he tried his luck again with a powerful shot but found the bar in his way. Kuriko Kazetsu would waste a late free-kick chance for the visitors and they went in slightly disappointed at 0-0. The second-half would be a role-reversal as Alsancak produced the better attacking football. Fraizer Campbell’s side-footed shot would be saved before Danny Rose lobbed high above the goal. The hosts would have one final chance to pinch the victory but Gabriel Agbonlahor put a power shot well-wide in injury-time and the game finished goalless. Wienersnitzel leads his side into a double-header with Tottenham now knowing two wins could go a long way to securing a promotion place come the end of the season. Joshy will be pleased with the form his side is showing and will be hopeful of continuing this on Friday in a game against Thunder.
AFC Boo Boys moved into fifth courtesy of some good finishing in a 3-0 home victory over St Omer. Boo Boys were looking to bounce back following a defeat in the previous round while Omer were in optimistic mood after securing some much-needed wins over the first-half of the season. Boo Boys would enjoy the perfect start as a diving header by Derek Armstrong gave them a lead on two minutes. Arne Seiffert looked to level for the visitors but couldn’t direct his header on target and they would go in behind. Omer began the second-half well but Jorn Schone’s lob was punched away by Ersberg and they found themselves two behind when Torben Kummel powered in a shot from some way out. Lennox McCarroll would have a header saved by Hamshaw as Boo Boys looked for more goals while Dennis Bogarde brought the best out of Hamshaw at the other end after a spectacular volley looked like reducing the deficit. Boo Boys would seal the win on 68 minutes, though, as Ferran Roteta placed the ball through the legs of Hamshaw. Bogarde would have a final header saved at the other end and Omer went home goalless and pointless. Skoolyou sees his side sit five points off the top three but a double-header against RRS gives them every opportunity to close the gap. CT in an interview with the league admitted the ‘short term aim is to ensure every player has a decent update and to win a few games’ along the way.
FCR Cressex would win the other game in the division as they edged 1863 Munich 3-2 in a cracker at Cressex Astro. With Munich still missing Anderson, Villan_RAS will have sensed this was the perfect chance for his side to return to winning ways and so it would prove. A free-kick on three minutes saw Ubaldo Andre strike the ball just over before Tomas Tiribocchio looped a header home to put Cressex 1-0 ahead. Andre would then lob a further header over and Seth Eaves made them pay by levelling for Munich, albeit somewhat fortuitously through a mishit shot. Adrian Fontenla would then complete the turnaround as a header found its way into the net and he might have added another but saw his shot saved on 32 minutes. Cabbar Saatcioglu would then produce a clinical strike on 43 minutes to level the game once more after a frantic opening 45 minutes. Tryggvi Valsson opened the second-half with a header which was saved by Zinnari while Stephane Aoudou couldn’t make a free-kick count at the other end. Cressex would strike the front again on 69 minutes as Andre volleyed home emphatically. Andre would then put a free-kick over but it wasn’t to matter as Munich could create no further chances at the other end. Villan_RAS now faces his biggest challenge of the season as they face a double-header against Morley over the next week. Munich acted in the aftermath of the game to sack Anderson and begin the search for a new boss to take them forward.
