Henry In Miraculous Recovery!?

The division three table once again has a familiar look to it with Gooners reclaiming top spot after the most highly anticipated fixture so far this season. Gooners coach (FMR) played a big part in this win and at the final whistle the every single player ran straight to the coach, it was clear how much this victory and the manager himself means to each and every one of them. FMR came to the RMI only last season as a rookie coach and has never looked backwards taking Gooners to the next level and changing their fortunes almost immediately.

Ever since then the team has played to their highest levels consistently and has an air of confidence and a mental strength that has attracted much attention from all quarters of this league. Not to mention the interest certain players have attracted from top flight clubs, although anyone wanting to steal his stars away would have to move heaven and earth to get them! This is a team that never knows when to give up and has never rolled over and taken defeat easily, so the match versus the so called Bully Boys was always going to be an interesting one. Bullies had stronger form, a more powerful line up and an "apparently" far superior and more experienced manager. What hope for Gooners then?

The match had recived much hype in the weeks building up, FMR & Cathillio instantly entering a battle of minds, much had been said both publicly and behind closed doors. Both managers approach the game in very different ways and seemed to clash as soon as they were drawn in the same league. Had this been last season FMR may have crumbled under such pressure, but after last seasons war of words with the former Dream Team coach... Cathillio should have realised, that both FMR and his players need little ammunition to find the desire to make life as hard as possible for such a rival. Ammunition there was though in the bucket load and one must wonder, would FMR have gone to the lengths required to win had such public comments not been made dismissing his team as lucky and the manager as inexperienced?

When the line up and formations were announced it was obvious the lengths FMR had gone to to win this game and quieten the Bully camp, permanently. According to FMR's press conferences and interviews, Gooners shining star and main goal threat Thierry Henry was out of form, out of sorts and being rested for this must win fixture. It came as a shock to everyone even the fans that Henry alone would lead the line, in a 4-5-1 formation. This places everything on one man and one man alone.. as the commentator for the game read out Gooners line up he almost choked on the name and proceeded afterwards with "this manager really does have a touch of the Jose's about him!".

The match was delayed as Gooners seemed to take an age to come out from the dressing room and Bullies were left to face a hostile crowd for a good five or so minutes. Gooners fans have been most unimpressed with Cathillio's thoughts on both their manager and club and this was their time to express it. The next five minutes must have seemed an eternity to Bullies players as 60,000 fans chanted "WE WILL, WE WILL, ROCK YOU". Eventually Gooners did make their way to the pitch and FMR turned and applauded the crowd. It would seem Cathillio had done nothing but fuel a fire and reignite Gooners season and FMR was loving every moment of it.

As the match got underway it became apparent that after all the talking up of Bully Boys by their manager they came to park the bus and play on the counter and with Gooners pushing high up the pitch it only took four minutes for the game to get it's first goal. Bullies would strike first and had their manager jumping for joy. Gooners never drop their heads though and although the majority of players had tired legs, it was a certain young set of legs that the manager has put much of his trust in this season that made his running pay off. Cesc Fabregas left everything in his wake as his charged up the wing and delivered a superb cross to Henry, there was only ever going to be one outcome.

Bullies would reply with some fine football of their own but had their celebrations cut short after being caught miles offside. Bullies did control much of the play but showed little in the way of creativity and the game seemed dead locked for an eternity. Cue Gooners young Cesc again.. showing great vision to pick out Henry who pulled the trigger from long distance to kill the game off and Bullies never looked like recovering and Gooners saw the game out quite comfortably.

FMR had this to say:

"Today i told my players we needed someone to step forward and be a hero, two players have answered my call today and Cesc is proving to be worth every penny of his transfer fee. He is still young and always improving, he is a special player with very special qualites and i feel he will go onto be a legend among RMI players. As for Henry (wry smile). As for Cath I have much repect for him as a manager, this was my hardest battle to date."
