Yesterday Gooners played Kings in a crucial fixture, Gooners looking to gain important match experience for their young strikers whilst still getting the required result. The boss will sleep easier tonight after grabbing all three points, in a game where they dominated for 90 minutes but only found the net once through a Thierry Henry goal. Among the players was new signing Borja who put in a decent shift despite missing the many freekick opportunities Kings gave them, it wouldn't suprise us if Bergkamp resumed these duties against Wortley, since he has been banging them in previously.
Gooners must again win away at Wortley if they want to avoid finding themselves under too much pressure in their remaining fixtures against Dream Team and Bayern. Although on the other hand should they lose then they have ample opportunity to resecure a promotion spot. With that said Fridays round of games will see Charming take on Bullies and if they were to draw Gooners would go one point clear and if Bullies could win, then Gooners have a real chance to steal the title away from both. Whatever the outcome everything still rides on Gooners getting results against Dream Team and Bayern... not an easy task, yet not impossible. The focus must remain on on promotion and a decent change report though and Gooners boss has stated his intentions to use the Wortley game to play Overmars to complete his games this season.
Henry also has a yellow card hanging over his head, which means there is a real risk of him missing either the Bayern or Dream Team fixtures. This would be a hammer blow to Gooners plans and all eyes will be on the tempermental striker to see wether he can keep it together in the coming games. Also Seaman has been found wanting this season and as we enter the squeaky bum pahse of the season, FMR will be hoping he can pull out some performances that made him a fans favourite last seaon. Everything is still up in the air in division two and I doubt anyone will be sitting comfortably in their chair until after the final whistle on the final day. The Gooners boss remains optomistic though as they know there is alot in the tank and will be recalling faces such as Ljungberg, Fabregas, Dixon and playing Henry in his favourite role, with the added potency of Borja there is still much hope around the Gooners camp.
