EspAda Glory

EspAda clinched the Division Three title as they eased past St Omer at Five Percent Stadium. With Omer looking forward to the end of the season this match looked like a formality and it would prove that way. They would enjoy the perfect start as Patric Torebring headed them into the lead on nine minutes and then survived a mishit shot by Dennis Bogarde at the other end a minute later. Diego Maradona would see a header of his own strike a post for EspAda but they would still go into the break with their lead intact. Omer began the second-half with an Enrico Montecinos shot which needed blocking by Kerrigan and the ‘keeper would be tested once more on 59 minutes; Timmy Svenson curling a powerful shot on target only for Kerrigan to produce a brilliant save. Torebring would then rub salt into the wounds for the home side with a fine shot to make it 2-0 and then moments later drove in a superb effort to make it 3-0 and game over. Torebring looked for a fourth on 65 minutes but his shot was saved by Hamshaw before a lob by Maradona went well-over. There was still time for Zihni Demiray to hit the woodwork with a clever lob but EspAda wouldn’t mind this miss and shortly afterwards were crowned champions. Crismorena can now look forward to Division Two football after a brilliant first full season in charge of EspAda. CT will be looking ahead to next week’s change report and will then start looking towards the next stage of their development.

Crimson Tigers edged closer to promotion following a 1-1 home draw with AFC Boo Boys. With Crimson trying to keep Anime at bay they knew a positive result against Boo Boys was important to keep them in control going into the final day. Boo Boys gave the hosts an early scare with Sergei Zubov chipping over but Crimson responded in fine fashion with a back heel from Dante Allegri which put them in front on 15 minutes. Andy Howe would then see a strike skim the bar before Michal Handzus headed the visitors back into it with a fine finish. Dan Scuderi nearly doubled the pain for the hosts with another header but it brushed a post and went safe. At the other end Marcelo Allegro had a free-kick steered round and the sides went in level. The second-half saw Crimson force the only chances as they sought what would have been a vital goal. A free-kick on 58 minutes saw Allegro only denied by the acrobatics of Cloutier in goal before Miroslav Burkhart headed over late in the game. Paul will now steel his side to pick up a point at RRS on Tuesday safe in the knowledge that even if they don’t only a big change in goal difference could see them denied. Skoolyou will expect his side to finish strongly at Tottenham before building for a tilt at promotion next season.

Anime saw their promotion hopes nosedive as they were beaten 1-0 at second-place Morley. It was always going to be a tough ask against a strong Morley side but Anime put up a great fight in a close contest. Asuna Kagurazakaa hit a powerfully curled shot straight at Gaughan with the only chance of the first-half for the visitors. Morley would improve after the break and Zacharias Ashe had already seen a header go close by the time Adolf Munzberg thundered in a free-kick to put them 1-0 up. There was to be late drama with Johnny Douglas firing a free-kick too close to Gaughan for the visitors while Florian Arnautu hit a powerful low shot wide for the home side. What this meant was the 1-0 score remained and Morley had secured the points. However, with EspAda winning, Morley are now certain to finish second but it has been a successful season nevertheless. Joshy will know his side have to go goal crazy on Tuesday to have any chance of overhauling Crimson but they are sure to give it their best.

Alsancak enjoyed a good 2-1 home win over Pink Bus Riders. With just a point separating the sides it had the makings of a tight contest but it would be the hosts who would gain an edge. A free-kick on five minutes saw Andrew Taylor put a shot off-target before Fraizer Campbell put a lob over as the hosts started strongly. Eliott Malloy did put a tame header straight at Cirkovic at the other end but the pattern of home attacks would resume minutes later when a penalty saw Rory Burston put Alsancak 1-0 up. This would prove the last of the first-half action but both sides would see further chances after the break. Fabrice Muamba quickly looked to have put Alsancak 2-0 up with a fine lob but saw it disallowed and Stephane Aoudou made it worse with a chip at the other end to level the scores. R Burston would fire wide for the hosts before Campbell missed with a diving header. Aoudou put a free-kick just over for Pink and the home side would capitalise with a fine strike by Mark Noble which put them ahead once more. They might have added another goal on 83 minutes but Zinnari held Taylor’s free-kick. It wasn’t to matter, though, as they held on for three points which sees them move back into fifth. Wienersnitzel will be hopeful of them finishing there as they travel to Thunder on the final day of the season. Kilie will already have his sights on next season where he will be able to truly put his stamp on the team.

FCR Cressex would also enjoy a fine win as they edged out Reggae Reggae Sauce 3-2 at Cressex Astro. With Sauce having endured another troubled campaign the home fans came hoping for a win and they would be rewarded in an exciting game. Cressex’s first chance came on seven minutes and Craig Levein struck an unstoppable half-volley which put them 1-0 ahead. Sauce’s response was a Franciszek Kamiski header which was punched away by Martinzon before Tomas Tiribocchi had a header saved at the other end. Tiribocchi would also have another effort saved moments later but Cressex would go 2-0 up when Richie MacCosh hit home a penalty on the half-hour. Tiribocchi would resume his battle with Mullen before the break but the ‘keeper would save once more and the half-time score remained 2-0. Dan-Ake Rothflod quickly had the hosts 3-0 up with a header as the second-half started as the first ended but Shivan Preetnav would finish a decent breakaway to bring Sauce back into it. Cabbar Saatcioglu did try to re-establish the lead for Cressex but his lob went well-over before Tiribocchi was stopped by Mullen again. Tiribocchi would finally beat Mullen on 67 minutes but saw his shot strike a post and Stefan Counago then had them worried when he headed home to make it 3-2. Metin Sikel nearly levelled by putting through his own net but was saved by his ‘keeper while Christiano Torres had a header saved as Sauce looked a point. Emil Rojas saw a header comfortably saved at the other end but Cressex had done enough to seal a narrow victory. Villan_RAS finishes with another winnable home match against Omer and they can then look ahead to an improved campaign next time out. Xpertelevener has an important match against Crimson to finish with before trying to find the formula to get his side out of their long-time slump.

Rolling Thunder and Tottenham played out a 1-1 draw in the division’s other fixture. With both sides looking forward to the break the game had little riding on it. Spurs had the first chance but Robbie Keane shot just wide and the rest of the half passed without incident. Spurs would make the breakthrough on 55 minutes with an excellent chip by Luka Modric but they were quickly pegged back as Jovan Gagic headed home. Spurs went looking for a winner, though, with Keane having an effort stopped before Wilson Palacios saw a lob tapped over by Jorquera. Palacios would also put a shot off-target while Tom Huddlestone powered a header wide as Spurs’ efforts would ultimately lead to frustration. Ocs will be pleased by his side’s latest effort and hopeful it is a sign of things to come. Vehsusheia will hope his side improve markedly in the change to signal an upward move next term.
