Boys No Match for Men at Top

These Charming Men struck a massive blow at the top of Division Two as they defeated Bully Boys 1-0 at Irregulars Arena. With the sides locked on 37 points neither wanted to give ground but the home side would fully warrant their three points. Mauricio Capdevila got them off to the ideal start with a clinical strike on four minutes and it might have been even better but Gerard Caffert saw his shot miss the target. Capdevila would mishit a shot when well-placed and watched as it trickled against a post before Tord Jakobson hit the ball beyond his own goal at the other end. The half-time interval would not see a change in the game as TCM continued to search for more goals. Linus Streicher would see a curled shot excellently saved by Kangashaka before Stuart Cooksey did find the net only to see it disallowed for handball. Streicher would then see a toe-poke go over the bar before missing the target with a header on 78 minutes. TCM still had time for one further chance but Jakobson’s free-kick was saved. Ultimately it wouldn’t prove costly as they saw out time on a vital victory. RDCM was happy with the victory and added ‘6 points out of 9 should secure the title.’ Cath will now have to refocus his side as they look to get back on track following this damaging defeat.

Gooners would stay in third as they were held to a 2-2 draw at wortley. With wortley fighting for their life at the other end of the table this game was always going to be keenly fought and it wouldn’t disappoint. Jake Shiver would head wortley into a lead on 31 minutes and Marc Overmars couldn’t bring Gooners level before the break as he put a header wide. Indeed, a penalty on 50 minutes saw Brandon Hiller put the hosts 2-0 ahead with the Gooners facing a tough challenge to get back into the contest. However, Thierry Herny would steer home a fine shot just after the hour-mark to give them hope although they did have to survive a Paulinho Santos free-kick which needed saving by Seaman. Leonardo Borja would then curl a beautiful equaliser for Gooners to salvage a point which may yet prove crucial in the final equation. FMR claimed there was ‘nothing more (he) could have done today’ but will now have to get his side ready for the massive clash with Dream Team. Thegtreatlordbags will be delighted with the point as his side continue to battle against the drop and with the bottom three struggling they will fancy their chances of surviving.

FC Bayern Munchen would capitalise on The Kings’ struggling form to win 4-0 and move level on points with Gooners and Bully Boys. With Munchen the form side of the division they were confident of victory going into the contest and they wouldn’t disappoint with a fine performance. Billy Bob would put a free-kick wide on seven minutes while Billy Ray Bongle chipped an effort against the bar. The bar would be in action moments later as Bob Country’s header bounced back off it but Munchen would take the lead on 43 minutes as Bob volleyed in from distance. The second-half saw more chances for the away side and Bob placed home a fine shot to make it 2-0 on 56 minutes. Bob would see a header saved as he looked for his hat-trick while Marshall Mayhem’s long range strike was held by Fitzsimmons. Bob did net his hat-trick goal on 82 minutes as he chipped expertly over the ‘keeper before he put a free-kick wide. However, he would have the final say with a superb strike from distance to net his, and his teams’, fourth goal of the game in an easy triumph. Dimentis will be growing increasingly more confident regarding promotion and a home win against wortley would put them in an even stronger position. Hitman will put this result to the back of his mind and will surely know that anything less than a victory over PSV will signal relegation for the troubled side.

Dream Team are also well in contention following a 3-0 home success over Crimea River. With River marooned in mid-table the extra desire of DT was always going to prove decisive. Garry Gain hit a shot wide with the first effort and he then saw a goal disallowed as they endured a frustrating start to the contest. Warren Wish would put them ahead, though, as he shot through Fabianski’s legs and they would take this one-goal lead into the second-half. Crimea would enjoy the first chance after the break but Tomas Rosicky shot well-wide and they were indebted to Fabianski for keeping them in it with a decent stop from Wish’s lob. River would have another chance to level but Alex Song’s shot was saved and when Wish headed home to put DT 2-0 ahead you sensed it was game over. This was confirmed on 74 minutes when Mil Moody finished a breakaway and Dennis Delight should have done better with a chance moments later. Nevertheless, DT had kept themselves in the hunt ahead of a massive game with rivals Gooners. Nothing is likely to change for Crimea between now and the end of the season where Ithaqua will go about his business of moulding a side in his own making.

Abu Dhabi and Juventus were involved in a 2-2 draw as the visitors looked to give themselves hope of survival. With SuperJuve absent anything from this game would have been seen as a success by their fans but they would manage to take advantage of a youthful Abu Dhabi side. Ger Wattamaleo saw a bicycle-kick saved on nine minutes for the hosts and this would prove the only chance of a quiet first-half. The second-half would also start quietly but a penalty allowed Wattamaleo the chance to put Dhabi 1-0 in front and he wouldn’t disappoint. This quickly became 2-0 as Potsdam Erplatz flicked home a header but Juve would respond with spirit. Kristoffer Lindfors would shoot home after a corner wasn’t cleared to give them hope and when Jacobo Chacros drilled in a free-kick on 90 minutes the comeback was complete. However, the Juve fans won’t be celebrating anything just yet as a home match against TCM does not promise any return. Tal will be continuing to assess his side ahead of next season as they look to continue their excellent development.

The other game of the division saw Special Ones MKII defeat PSV Eindhoven 3-1. With neither side having much to play for an open game was hoped for and it would be delivered by the sides. A free-kick on two minutes gave the hosts an opportunity to net but Rowley Forrester saw his effort saved. Robin Barratt would fare better for the hosts, though, as he shot home after a corner and a breakaway on 28 minutes finished with Rick Tuttle rounding Reina to make it 2-0. Forrester would see a further free-kick saved before Tuttle did add a third with a fine header to put the hosts well in control. Petrut Vrabioiu did have a header saved for PSV but they went in with it all to do. A breakaway on 71 minutes saw Ezequeil Avila place the ball home to pull a goal back for PSV but a further chance from Timmy Simons and a penalty by Rory MacFinlay brought little joy for the visitors. Forrester did have time to hit a tame free-kick at Reina but they had already done enough to secure an important three points. Aj will be in confident mood ahead of next season following a successful time since joining the club while Kadri will also be confident that his side will develop as hoped in the change report.
