Dejected Totaalvoetbal fans were given a boost this morning in the shape of Jaan Makelele.
Having lost the last game of the season after slipping out of the title race in the previous game, Totaalvoetbal then saw an average change report worsen their mood while the Pink Bus Riders manager still throws accusation after accusation at Meeblind as his obsession grows.
‘He’s everywhere,’ began Meeblind in reference to Kilie.
‘You read about stalkers in the papers every day. I never thought I’d reach the stage where I had one myself. I’m starting to fear for my safety, the man is clearly infatuated by me and who knows what lengths he will go to get hold of well......my length shall we say.’
Meeblind quickly refocused to speak about the change report:
‘It looks average no doubt about it but every player bar one improved so it’s probably a little misleading. A couple might be on their way out of the club but we’ll see what happens.’
With all that said the manager then introduced Makelele to the reporters:
‘This lad could be special. We are told he can be a little moody but we can tap into that and make it work in our favour.
‘He is versatile, has the knack of a headed goal and has pace to burn. At 17 he could develop into something special.....or bring in 5m to the rather empty club coffers.
‘It has given the club a boost, though, ahead of the off-season training camp.’
And with that Meeblind left the press conference with a spring in his step that hasn't been seen for sometime.
