Manager forced to speak!!

Viking Land News

After weeks of avoiding the issues Viking Land News reporters finally got hold of manager Eaglesrjh and after sobering him up they forced him into an office and got him to speak about the season thats just gone.

Well let me first say it was a great season, we did not really expect to win the title but we showed that if you believe and just keep going and have good team spirit just what can be achieved. It's an unbelievable feeling to be crowned RMI champions and forever have our name on the league intro page, as manager i'll take some credit but in truth credit goes to the players as it was those guys who won the matches.

It was an incredibly tough season this year, the rmi is filled with top managers and top teams and we would like to thank them all for a great season, special mention should of course go to RobinMeeblind and his Totaalvoetbal team, they really did push us all the way and we are sure that they will be up there and challenging again next season.

As for us we dont plan to change much for next season, why change a title winning side? Nicholas Irons has left us after limping up at the change report but unless a very good bid is received or we see a player that we feel will add real quality to the side then there are no plans for any other personnel changes at the club.

The change report was good enough for us to believe that the current squad can do well again this season, we are especially pleased with the progress of midfielder Milbourne who gained 2 skill bars, he looks a promising player for the future.

As for next season we will obviously be trying to defend the crown, but i think we are now there to be shot at whereas last season we where still seen as a bit of an underdog, 3 quality sides and managers come up from Division 1 so the Rmi will be tougher than ever. The Vikings will continue to do their best though and at least keeping a stable squad is good for the number of players who have feelings for the club and will also help with teamwork values.

Right now we are focusing on the cup and using this as an avenue to build form towards the new season, we believe this is the correct thing to do, some cash is available and some training is taking place, we believe that Justin Portway has already signalled his desire for the new season with an incredible 4 goals in one game.

In short, we are delighted to win the title, we thank and applaud all those who competed with us last season and you can bet we will be doing our best to be up there again this coming season
