Honours even at The Western

Going into this game Wortley afc were in great form and they hosted Mighty Mojos a side who find themselves in great form too. New manager Joshy has a good record against title chasing and promotion chasing sides yet to suffer a defeat home or away.

As the action got underway the game soon became a game of cat and mouse as Wortley afc chased The Mighty Mojos as they the visitors sat back. The visitors defensive style seem to do the trick and things looked promising for the visistor as manager Joshy seemed to have this team and match tatics spot on. Tempers became short for the home side as the visitors kept breaking up the flow of play not allowing the home side time to find their stride. On the 13th minute tempers almost over boiled as Edmund Izzet was floored had he not been able to continue he might of searched for redemption but Kieran Drynan replaced him. In the 17th minute Nigel Krippner was booked as the visitors frustrated the home side even more. Wortley afc's day was going to take another bad twist on the 23rd minute them found themselves a goal down. Grigory Kunitsyn's corner found the head of Timotei Buta who headed home for the visitors. Mighty Mojos were able to make it to half time still 0-1 up as Wortley afc left the pitch a few boos could be herd.

As the second half got under way it soon became clear Joshy's half time team talk must of been something along the lines of the same again please. Mighty Mojo's kept Wortley afc at bay in the early stages of the second half. 5 minutes after the hour mark though Wortley afc equalised. Paulinho Santos placed the ball down for a direct free kick which he dispatched into the top corner. 1-1 the score and on lookers might feared for the visitors. Wortley afc had a lot of possession but failed to create much infront of goal 5 chances in total Mighty Mojos hanged on for the point though as the game finished 1-1. After the match Joshy had this to say...

" Today our game plan was spot on. I don't think the score line is a fluke we didn't come here expecting to loose but to get something from the game. My team gave it their all and you can ask no more of them. My defence tightly marked Paulinho Santos and kept him quite except for his freekick which was world class no stopping that kind of effort. Now we focus on our next match which is away to Rolling Thunder at Cloud Nine. "
