After former manager Baz left the club for a much better job with the Thundercats some players were left feeling abandoned and isolated especially with the club almost certainly doomed to relegation. Despite new manager Paddy Mckeever coming in and restoring the players spirits, the whole squad have had one eye on this fixture since Baz left. Some players are keen to see a friendly face of a former manager they were very fond of and some players are keen to dent Thundercats position near the top. With sentimental feelings and revenge in the air and Bryan Adams desperate for points on the back of a defeat to Manchester this should make for an explosive match up!
We caught up with a strangely sober Paddy Mckeever for his thoughts on the game and to ask where he's been this last week "I've been in rehab, the club didn't mind having an idiotic drunk in charge while we were winning but immediately after the match they packed me off for my monthly stint in rehab and I've never felt better! I can honestly say I won't eat any more candy floss until after the game. I can see us pulling off a result against Thundercats but I'm expecting a defeat as we're away from home and tactically and form wise we're not quite right yet, we're more than capable of winning as a thanks to Baz for leaving us in this predicament but I guess we'll have to see, he's a great manager and he's got a good team at Thundercats so we'll have to wait until after the game as this result is definitely not a foregone conclusion"
Eloquent and complimentary about a fellow manager? Paddy Mckeever must be sober, shame we can't see it lasting long!
