Viking Land News
You would think that Vikings manager Eaglesrjh would be a happy man after the start to the season.
2 wins and a draw, a pools win and improving form all point to a good season and good times at Viking Land but the manager has other things on his mind.
Yes it's been a very good start to the season and you would think i'd be happy. 2 home wins and a point away at AFC Stanley which I certainly would have taken at the start of the season. However it's becoming apparent that we have a problem converting penalties, 2 missed in the last 2 games and that can cause problems. Ok in the last game it didnt affect us much but in the Stanley game it cost us the match. We should be sat on 9 points and 3 wins from 3. 2-1 up with a 90th minute penalty and I was chalking the 3 points on the board. Penalty missed and to rub salt into the wounds they equalised very late on.
Since then a portion of every training session has been devoted to penalty taking in order to try to find a player who can shoulder the responsibility. We tried Gourmas as he is the highest skilled player in the squad, we tried Papakostas as our top scorer and coolest player?, neithe rmanaged to net so we need to work out who can!
Overall though the manager is happy with the season so far but rumours in the club are that he is unhappy with having 5 strikers and one of them could be looking for alternative employment soon!
