Yorkshires Amateurs boss Danlufc13 has faced a grilling in the press this week over his choice of line up against Kirkbride Strollers. Some have accused the Amateurs boss of devaluing the competition by not playing his strongest side. Derek Naples, Vince Brightwell and Amadeo Caviedes were all left out in favour of younger players.
Manager Danlufc13 told the gathered press, “I did choose to play a more inexperienced side against Kirkbride because in all honesty I did not expect to win the game but I am trying to build for a future when I can challenge to the top sides on a regular basis.
I have some promising youngsters who need game time and there will be some games when I have to utilise my full squad.
It’s a tough balancing act but I’m the boss here and I’ve the long term interests of the club at heart because one day we want to win this division”.
