Gooners Dream Result

In round three of the RMI Gooners faced a strong Dream Team side managed by @peace, FMR's brother and it was @peace's first game in charge of the team and if these facts alone didn't make the tie exciting enough! Gooners and Dream Team have a very strong rivalry which goes back some way, Gooners do have the upper hand in previous fixtures but last seasons 4 - 1 defeat at the hands of Dream Team was their worst result ever! Sol Campbell was mostly to blame in that crushing defeat and had some ghosts to lay to rest in this tantilizing fixture, the scene was set for a cracker of a game and with so much class on display goals were always on todays menu.

The game was never going to disappoint and straight from the kick off things got very heated inside the FM Arena with four yellows being shown it was looking like the ref would decide the outcome of this fixture yet again. Of the four cards shown, three were to Dream Team players Merry 3rd min shirt pulling, Delight 21st min dangerous play and Gain 38th min for a sloppy tackle but it was the fourth card that really decided the out come of the game with Kris Krafy being red carded in the 55th min for brutal play.

After the sending off with Gooners at home in fantastic form the outcome was always going to be a formality especially with Gooners five man midfield versus Dream Teams three, with that said Dream Team defended well for a long period but they still looked frustrated and were making rash challenges all over the park. It was no suprise to anybody watching that the first goal came in the form of a penalty in the 75th minute, cue Dennis Bergkamp with a hundred percent record from the spot, the captain didn't batter an eye lid as he dispatched a powerful spot kick that almost took the net off. Then in the 80th min Lang would score with a very uncharacteristic header and Rocastle who was picked again despite having a not so good debut last round, made it 3 - 0 with a stylish lob header. Dream Team would not go quietly though and Warren Wish blasted an unstoppable shot past Seaman in the 88th minute to make the final score 3 - 1.

It was a fantastic result for the Gooners and means they come through a difficult run of games with maximum points and look to be living up to all the hype that has surrounded this team since a fantastic first season under FMR. Every player they pick seems to perform at 150% and their transfers have been spot on and it looks to be money well spent. The thing that must please FMR the most though is how quickly these player have adpted to the RMI and slotted straight into the team, and for sure the performances can only get better as they find full match fitness and spend more time together on the training pitch.

We spoke to the cheerful manager after todays game:

Todays result was brilliant for us and at this point of the season after this set of games to be top of the league feels fantastic! As for the game itself I felt Dream Team were harshly treated and in a derby game the ref has to take into account the desire to win but on the other hand last season a simular thing happened to ourselves and as always in football things have a habit of balancing themselves out. Before the game today i reminded all the lads of last seasons result and to keep their heads and stay on their feet, it looks to have been that alone that won us the game and fair play to Dream Team they seemed to play well both before the sending off and after.

I still feel that Dream Team are a huge threat to our title ambitions and @peace will have them back in the mix very shortly im sure, we have already spoken about whats needed to win this league and they can expect to make changes the team very soon. Looking at other results today i was very impressed with Abu Dhabi and quite pleased by Charmings result obviously. As for us i feel we have come through a tough period of matches and can now try to put some space between ourselves and the others before we enter another tough string of fixtures. Next we face Wortley and have a score to settle, it's a game we will take very seriously and the objective will be to score as many as possible, in a bid to increase our goal advantage and to sink Wortley even further towards relegation!

Lastly I would like to comment on somethings being said by Bully Boys manager Cath, who made some very strange public comments just recently. Firstly he said im a new manager!? This is a very strange comment to make as i have been managing for over six months and have completed four seasons and read all material there is to read. As a matter of fact the only thing im still experimenting with is advanced tactics with special quality players. Something Bully Boys dont have, they are infact tactically very one dimesional. He then went on to say that my team does not bother him, yet we have had to apply for an injunction after many of my players felt they were being stalked by him everyday. Actions speak louder words imo....
