Town News
Morley continued their winning run with a comfortable 3-0 win against 1863 Munich, that now makes it five wins in five league games. Morley have now scored an incredible 15 goals in those five wins whilst only conceding one goal.
Dustin Wotton was handed his frst start of the season in a bold 3 pronged attack and his managers faith was thoroughly repaid as the young striker put Town into an early lead, ArnĂ£utu picked the ball up out wide and delivered an inch perfect cross which Wotton powered home to open his account for the season.
Daly should have equalised seven minutes later but the strike went for power over precision and the Morley 'keeper was able to make a comfortable save, three minutes later Munich suffered an injury to their 'keeper Zinnari and with no reserve 'keeper on the bench Munich had to bring on defender Ruiz as a makeshift goalkeeper.
Morley immediately sensed an opportunity to punish Munich for their decision not to name a 'keeper amongst the substitutes but Munzberg contrived to hit the bar with a diving header when scoring looked far easier. Velez didnt make the same mistake though with Morleys next chance, his header sailed past the motionless Ruiz in the Munich goal.
Six minutes later Wotton grabbed himself a second, Ruiz was miles off his line and Wotton took full advantage with an exquisite lob, Daly nearly pulled a goal back for his team on the stroke of half-time, he beat the offside trap and slipped the ball though the 'keepers legs but his shot rolled agonizingly wide.
The second half failed to live up to the dizzy heights of the first period, Munzberg wasted a string of chances for Town but Morley never looked in any danger of conceding a goal never mind their lead, Morley face bottom side Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night where they will hope to continue their winning run.
