Despite manager Paddy Mckeever leading the club to 4th place in division one, whilst overseeing an overhaul of a terrible squad into a competetive one all within tight financial constraints, the clubs new owners Angry Badger PLC particularly new chairman Flavio Badgertorie have decided to sack the mercurial manager.
Fans are said to be in uproar at this decision as Mckeever has consistently blooded the young talent and performed miracles in the transfer market despite the board reneging on an agreement to resign Logan Macanish and cutting his budget at the last minute meaning the fact he's managed to get such highly skilled players to the club is a miracle.
We managed to catch up with Paddy at the training ground as he was loading his training gear of a blow up doll, some cones, a bag of footballs and a shetland pony as well as a box full of the canteens finest silverware:
"I'm shocked to be honest, me and Flavio had a bit of a falling out over the Macanish situation but they seemed happy with all the wins I was getting them, I know there were claims in the press I'd headbutted Luigi Mckeever but he's my cousin, that's how we say hello! anyway I'll be seeking compensation via tribunal and whilst I'm sad to leave Padston I'm looking forward to not having to get up early once a week to visit the training ground and not having to deal with that race fixing idiot Flavio"
A black cloud has desended over the Badgerdome today, with many fans laying flowers outside the ground as if a relative or a hero of theirs has died. Tough times ahead for Padston unless the new owners can be forced out.
and what of Paddy Mckeever? what's next for this outspoken but brilliant manager?
