Scraped Through

Kirkbride Strollers survived a late scare to claim all 3 points at The Bush today. Reserve goalie John Orr was the hero early on saving brilliantly from Eadbhárd Liffeys penalty before The Strollers took command with three goals in a spell either side of half time. Stephen Robinson grabbed two and Mally Graham the other to send the Strollers fans wild. There was, however, to be a nervous finish to the game for the home fans when Mlynarz and Altieri combined to score two goals in the last 12 minutes. The home side saw out the few minutes of injury time though and sent manager Jazza1958 to the pub happy.

" We weren't at our best today and had big John Orr to thank for the victory with his brilliant early penalty save. Robinson took his goals well and we will take heart at scoring eight in our last two matches. The Bush has been a fortress so far with three wins from three games but we must look into improving our away form with only one point taken from a possible twelve. Our match next Tuesday at Underdogz Utd won't be easy and we will have to tighten up at the back to have any chance of a positive result. We will have a couple of key players back after injury including promising keeper Ted Hill who will go straight back into the team despite 18 stone John Orr's performance today. Anyway now it's pub time so bottoms up"
