One thing you can almost guarentee when these two sides meet are goals , and the fans who turned up were treated to a goal fest again.
Santos raced into a 2-0 lead and Stanley looked dead and buried until a strike right on half time by Garry Molseley gave them hope. Whatever was in the half time cup of tea certainly worked for Stanley as 2 goals in 4 minutes after the break put Stanley 3-2 in front , Santos drew level on 68 minutes , then 3 unanswered goals from Stanley broke Santos`s hearts.
After the match manager Markham said " I just rip up the tactics when i play Santos , the best form of defence is attack as there are so good going forward i just have to match them going forward and hope we score more goals than them and it worked, offensively we were superb today with Luke Riou and Garry Molseley a nightmare for the Santos defence to mark"
After the match Stanley refused to confirm or deny damage to the Santos dressing room , after what it would appear damage to a wall caused by a flying boot.
