The Perfect Round

Gooners made the headlines for all the right reasons in round 12 of the RM Invitational Div 3, after problems with injuries and games where it was really two points lost rather than one point gained, they finally set their season alight and will no doubt make their rivals now take them seriously.

Gooners were away to EspÅda ® a team they beat in round 11 although with no real conviction, it was a cold wet afternoon at Hucö Mundö stadium but it didnt dampen the spirits of the crowd as they readied themselves for more attacking football from the flamboyant Gooners. Gooners already on an eleven game unbeaten run were surely favourites and as the the players came out from the tunnel the away supporters got their first look at Yanuar Kembung their latest signing a 35 year old midfilder thrown straight in at the deep end. This player is a real show man and he didnt dissapoint doing a lap of honour whilst kissing the badge and playing up to the cameras.

The truth be known this player wasnt first choice and came in for a small fee of one million econ so no one knew anything about him, but this manager usually has an eye for a bargin and all this was about to change. The away fans also gave a massive welcome to Isak Råberg their number one who was badly injured recently and today made the bench... a massive boost to Gooners season as they aim to start hitting the form they are capable of. Although Råberg was back in training the manager decided to stick with Felipe Lima who after a dodgy introduction then kept a clean sheet in round eleven and has hit some real form of late. In the earlier press conference the manager had asked his player to finish more of the chance they make and noted this as a weakness... as although the defence has only recently been put together they have gelled immediately only letting six goals slip past them.

Well the game kicked off and Gooners played their usual pressure game going man to man in a bid to over power their opponents and the home team seemed to stutter like a rabbit in the headlights. Gooners made the pressure work and managed many a chance all of which were saved or hit the post.. it was beginning to look like another one of those days. In the twentieth minute Kyle Lang picked up a yellow and you could clearly see the anger as he knew now he would miss the round thirteen tie with Alsancak F.C his previous club (this must be a sale they now sorely regret) but Gooners didnt get frustrated and kept the ball well having all the possesion the manager seemed to have got the tactics just right and was barking orders constantly from the touch line. Their new signing Kembung was really up for it and central to everything and in the forty first minute it all payed off when Kembung flighted the perfect ball for Shilton to head home. Many of Gooners goals have come from the head and teams are having real problems with that aspect of their game. After the first goal the nerves settled and they continued to keep the ball and were constantly attacking.

Although it wasnt until after the break that they really came alive, whatever the manager said to his players it really seemed to get them firing right from the whistle. One minute after kick off Shilton scored again with a violent shot from long distance. This really fired up the crowd, who were cheering "THERES ONLY ONE BRODERICK SHILTON" this in turn fired up shilton who was now determined to get his hatrick Iniesta scored from a corner on the fourty eigth minute to make it 4 - 0 and Shilton got his hatrick in the fifty fourth minute with a close range shot. With the score at 5 - 0 the pressure continued at the same pace with manty more attempts on goal! All that was missing now was a goal from debutant Kembung and he finaly got his chance in the seventy seventh minute with a unselfish assist from Kevin Royale.. he went mad the crowd went crazy and the manager seemed to take it all in his stride. The home fans could only clap in appreciation at what they had just seen, right now they are playing some fantastic football but if they want to take the title they will need to remain unbeaten all season.

We caught up with the manager as he was presented with his first ever manager of the round award and he had this to say... Today was a perfect day for us in every aspect to win away from home in such style was amazing. Kembung has warmed immediately to the fans and our confidence and experience grows ever larger. The only downside was Kyles card and i feel for him but all thats important now is keeping this form and steering clear of injuries. I would also like to point out during this 12 game unbeaten run we have used all the squad and everyone in the team has been fantastic but as always i only ever look to the next game and were out to prove something against Alsancak F.C.
