Vikings suffer home defeat.
The Vikings suffered a home loss in a game they may feel they did enough to get at least a point out of.
It took 29 minutes for there to be an attempt on goal, Giggs getting forward well for Manchester but seeing his header saved by Lees. The Vikings first attempt came on 36 minutes but Almandis put his freekick too close to the keeper. Manchester then took the lead in the 43 rd minute with Rooney heading in a corner by Giggs. the vikings looked to hit back straight away but Bonavia put his header over the bar. 0-1 half time, level on chances and the Vikings just shading possession.
The second half also started quietly and it was not until the 58th minute that we had another chance, Crouch putting his header well wide. Gourmas then also missed the target a minute later with a long range effort. Manchester were not about to let The Vikings have things their own way though and Ronaldo followed the recent example shooting wide on 60. The Manchester keeper was at least called into action on 63 from Crouch's shot but it was a routine save that he made to look a bit fancy. Da Silva hit the bar with a header on 64 as the game was very open. Crouch was getting forward well for the Vikings but again headed wide on 79. Ronaldo then missed the goalmouth with an 80th minute freekick. Almandis then at least worked the keeper with his 83rd minute freekick. Almadis then put the games last chance wide with his 86th minute freekick. 0-1 full time but 8 chances to 5 in the home teams favour.
"Yes we could have got something out of the game" said the manager "but if you dont hit the target you dont score and thats what happened in this game!"
