Stanley defeated there nemesis FC Greatness on Friday by 2-0 , in a tight first half marred by an injury to Thorbjorn Lind Greatness had the only 2 chances of the half , whatever Stanley manager Markham said at half time certainly did the trick , the loss of inspirantial captain Halldór Valþórsson seemed to spur Stanley on even more and 4 minutes later a thunderbolt of a free kick by Matts Wallman fired Stanley into the lead , Greatness had there chances but Stanleys defence as they have been all season were superb and thwarted anything Greatness threw at them, Stanley pressed and deservedly sealed there victory with a long distance strike by Alan Martindale.
On the final whistle the mutual respect between both managers was plain to see as Stanley remained in contention for the title
