Tough times at Gooners have seen them slip from the top spot, it would seem that teams in division one are willing to use any means necassary to win. The Gooners manager stated he had never seen so much heavy handed tactics in a season and we are only just under way.
Three long term injuries in five games has shown the weaknesses of the Gooners squad but the young guns managed to grab an all important point away against Hawks. FMR is still confident as apart from the home game against Carthage important points have been gained in many games. Many of those being away... looking at the next group of fixtures and the afore mentioned points, aswell as the players coming back from injury and in training... things could change dramatically again for them.
A win against Bristol is vital and if secured they could yet gain a cushion at the top, and the manager will be happy if his team can keep picking up points from games they shouldnt come end of season. There are few new faces that have done well and one that has failed to make his mark as of yet. Busquets has been assured by the manager that he is still central to his plans and to keep giving 100%.
FMR was quoted as saying..
"Things look worse than they are currently, we have nicked important poiunts in most games... lets see what happens when everyone is fit and I feel confident we will be in a good position again after the next four games. We have survived this tough period well, no one had us down a title challengers and we love nothing more than to prove people wrong. We have players that havent even hit 50% of what they can do yet, as always we will continue to focus on our own season.
Our defence has been outstanding and in great form, the injury to Dixon was disappointing but the others have coped well, we also have a young lad we are about to promote so there is more cover. Keown is also now back to his old self. Fabregas is continuing same as last season and his injury barely made him flinch.. and i did nt know better id say the Wellington an Fabregas were related! Form and ability wise they are very simular. Sometimes you see a player and you just know!
Wiltord is now key to our season and he was well worth waiting for and nay combination of attackers is going to be a handful for any defence, I feel blessed with strikers although another youth wouldnt go a miss. The only player we are considering putting on the market is Overmars but we would need six mill to replace him so this may have to wait until later in the season, so he has his chance to make his mark in the mean time."
