Gooner lost out to Greatness today at home, you would have thought manager FMR would be scathing at this loss but it is not so. The Gooners manager is more than happy with the way things have panned out and although the game was lost today, valueable DV was picked up. Every p[layer has already played a game for Gooners and they are top of the table after five games.. its not to be sniffed at.
Last season things fell apart with the mid season purchase of Anelka, which caused form to drop too far and it bacame unrecoverable. No such risks will be taken this season and when players need to play they will play! Although after buying Anelka he got injured and his career as a Gooner was wrecked the player was sold on for 1.4 mill profit, every cloud has a silver lining!
The target for Gooners is top three finish, title would be nice and they are pushing for it obviously but, player development comes first as always! Any cushion made will be used to play any players struggling with development. Todays game saw Overmars and Wiltord start and the manager will feature his young stars more than ever this season. Akinfeev although not ready for this level yet has been promised many starts, along with Wellington Silva who impressed massivly on his debut. The manager has already spoken of his desire to build around Fabregas, Silva and Busquets and early signs look exciting for Gooners fans.
Next up is Carthage and Gooners should have everyone available again, including their young Talisman Fabregas.. who could not be risked last game as he looks certain to make the jump to a 8 skill barring any long injuries. Training is well underway and form should have recovered nicely for this fixture... and FMR will be looking to increase the players form and confidence with an away win!
