Gooners Bite Back

Round nine of RMI saw Gooners take on City, after taking so many poundings from rival teams this season FMR demanded his normally footballing side get tough. This they did and won what might turn out to be the most important win of the season according to the manager! It means they have more than survived the toughest period in the first half of the season, and will now look to regain the top spot whilst Greatness scrap it out with the other contenders.

Gooners scored all three goals in the City game, the final score was 2 - 1 and Sol Campbell the unfortunate party to score the only goal for the away team. With Busquets still unable to find the net... although coming close and putting in a decent performance. Decisions didnt go the way of City, our guess is that Gooners lack of reputation for foul play served them well, with the ref giving them the benefit of the doubt. City were furious mind as their future starlet Rankine was stretchered off and is not expected to return any time soon.

With two of the biggest clubs recently losing their managers, rumour has it that both clubs have been on the phone constantly to FMR's agent, afterall he is the hottest property currently in RMI. Having taken Gooners from the brink of extinction to back to back promotions since his first season incharge. Having an 18 game unbeaten run along the way and more recently distancing himself for his fellow managers in the ratings.

Heres what the once modest coach had to say, on this weeks events...
"Firstly, my thought are with Rankine that looked a horrendous injury, and we would like to help cover the cost of his recovery... I hope that City manager Pbstev will accept my generous offer to take Lipscombe off his hands to help cover the cost... under the circumstances it is the least we can do.

Secondly, thank god i did not get another manager of the round award today... the west wing of Modeste manor is still being extended to make space for my enlarged trophy room. As for todays game I think it could have possibly been the most important game of our season. Form has not dipped below managable levels and as we come through our tough period of games we are still in touching distance of those that must now fight it out over the coming weeks. We feel confident that we can regain both our form and pressure the others into mistakes.

As for any rumours connecting me with other so called big clubs, I have no interest in any offers they have made to my agent. I have extremly long term plans at Gooners and the only deal I am interested in is the one that has kept players like Lang, Bergkamp and Henry at the club... My promise that they would play top division football before they retire! We also in my opinion have and are looking at what I think will be the best players in the league! Currently we are struggling through making the most of what we have, In a season or two's time we will be at full strength and for a club thats struggling we havent done to badly. The fans can rest assured neither myself, or any of the players key to my plans are going anywhere...

As for an update on the squad, Borja made a suprise return in the City fixture and came through it very well indeed and will return to normal duties. Dixon is well on the road to recovery but may not make the next fixture... We have promoted Vermaelen to the team and he looks to be a long term addition to the squad. It is true I have listed Overmars, although we are asking for a premium and any interest from within the league will be dismissed. He will be sold and all funds from his sale will be spent on a replacement come the end of season. This will allow Wellington to gain experience he needs, and provide the funds needed to add another young talent."
