Hun Haters remained a point clear at the top of the table after a superb 4-2 away victory at 23rd Professionals. It was no less than the leaders deserved as they attacked their hosts with both purpose and intensity. Alexandr Prohazska firing in after just 9 minutes to send the following support wild. Two goals in quick succession all but confirmed the win. Don MacArthur thumping a shot in from long range before Prohazska got his second by rounding off a swift breakaway move. Harald Roeder briefly put the hosts back into it with a well-taken penalty but when MacArthur added the fourth before half-time the writing was on the wall. The second-half was a closer affair but you sensed that was because HH had already wrapped up the points. Dorian Sullivan managed to add a consolation for the hosts as their battle to avoid the drop took another dent. Hun, meanwhile, have the title in their own hands if they win their remaining games.
Keeping them honest are Totaalvoetbal who duly won to keep the pressure on. Glasgow Rangers were the opponents as Horacio Metelo put in a magical midfield display to lead last season's Division One Champions to victory. The game was settled during a first-half demolition job. Metelo put the visitors in front in the very first minute, heading in a Vajpayee corner. When he lobbed home after 14 minutes quickly followed by a Lars Boeckx header the three points were already heading to Holland. Pierre van Diemen added a fourth before half-time and then Metelo completed his hat-trick and the rout by scoring another header at the beginning of the second-half. The loss saw Glasgow Rangers' relegation confirmed while Totaalvoetbal stay just a point behind Hun Haters, "We are happy to be in with a chance of winning the title with just three games to go." stated manager Meeblind.
Slipping five points behind were ThunderCats F.C after a surprise 2-1 defeat to EASTHAM FC. The win saw EASTHAM ease their relegation fears and put a massive hole in the title aspirations of ThunderCats. It took until the 49th minute for EASTHAM to take the lead, Rex Victory shooting home after the home side had forced a corner. With the away side seemingly stunned by the goal it was quickly 2-0, Elton Barkworth shocking them further with a cracking free-kick. Silvio Falcao did pull one back for the visitors but it wasn't enough. Manager Meelas took responsibility for the defeat by admitting he "forgot to change his team the night before."
Doncaster Rovers continued to give themselves hope of avoiding the drop with a 4-2 win over Crystal Palace. They had fallen behind to a Carl Fletcher header but then proceeded to play some of their best football of the season. Tyrone Barratt equalised from a breakaway move before half-time giving them a platform to build on. Build on it they did as Noel Mawson shot them into the lead before Barratt, with his confidence sky high, let fly from distance to make it 3-1. Palace fought until the end and got a goal back through Cornelius Orndal but the game was settled when first Hilario Laranjeira was sent-off and then Tony Norman finished off a free-kick move. The win sees Doncaster six points off Palace as they look to pull off the great escape.
Yorkshire Amateurs continued their unstoppable run by defeating AS Roma 3-1. Yogender Amarparm gave them the ideal start after 7 minutes before Roma hit back just before half-time through Potsdam Erplatz. Kit Bigelow restored the home side's lead on 67 minutes before the brilliant Hans Riegler fired in a free-kick to seal the win. Potsdam Erplatz went full circle in the game by being sent-off late on much to the dismay of his fans. Meanwhile, Amateurs boss Danlufc13 was in fine spirits, "I have some great lads here and it's a pleasure to work with them." exclaimed the thrilled coach.
