Wienersnitzel from Alsancak FC
Welcome Wienersnitzel, and welcome to RM Invitational!
Q: First of all, let me ask you what your very first reflection was, gazing upon your squad for the first time. Anguish or hope?
A: To be honest it was somewhere inbetween anguish and hope but at the same time I quite enjoy a bit of a challenge.
Q: You´ve been a busy buyer with 5 purchases in 3 days particularly strengthening your midfield. Whilst many managers struggle to really make a winning team out of the players presented to them, are you happy with the team your actions in the market at the present?
A: I needed to bring in a few new faces as well as clear out players who just would not feature, but overall I am reasonably happy with what I have considering I did not have any money to spend, maybe I will unearth a hidden gem.
Q: Parker Sutherland gave you some well needed econs when you sold him but this has left you with only the one goal-keeper in Cameron Peyton. Some managers have stressed the importance of a skilled second goal-keeper whilst a few take a chance with just one. Do you have any substitute goal-keepers coming up through the ranks right now or what are your thoughts?A I always have two keepers but I felt the two I started with where to simular, I prefer to have a younger less experienced second choice keeper to bring on, I will have a second Keeper in place for the start of the season but at the same time I will not be rushed into any rash signings.
Q: The team has been engaged in three pre-season friendlies, the 3-1 win against Chelsea by far the most successful, have these in any way helped you determine your chances in the coming season?
A: I always like to play friendlies but I don't take them to seriously, I tend to use them to give fringe players a game as well as looking at weakness points within the squad, as for this season I will be looking to finish mid table and move on from there.
Q: Your favoured formation in your career has been a straight 4-4-2, and you can now draw from a steady midfield to handle the ball between the offensive and defensive lines. Without hinting too much of your tactics – explain this love affair between you and the 4-4-2.
A: I have always favoured 4-4-2 I dont know why but it just feels right almost comfortable, all of my teams play that formation and they have all been successful, but at the same time I am not fixed on that formation I do on occassion like to throw a spanner in the works, it keeps my opponents guessing.
Well good luck Wienersnitzel from us at the RM invitational, we wish you the best and are happy to see you join the league. The Alsancak F.C name alone has already provided you with the first place in division 3.
