News from Scatcherd Park
Speaking after his teams 2-0 defeat at the hands of Carthage FC, Morley manger Leeg21 admitted that the remainder of the season is just an extended pre-season as he prepares his players for the demands of next season. It certainly showed as an unfamiliar Morley lineup took to the field against Carthage.
Leeg21 decided to give his youth players an opportunity to impress and also give them some vital experience with the change report a matter of weeks away. Dustin Wotton, Vivian Kwekeu, Eric Brent and Tomas Brolin were all handed rare starts to boost their match experience.
The squad at Morley was also trimmed before the transfer window closed as out of form midfielder Mikey Horrocks and disruptive striker Anthony Carden were sold. The team now looks much happier since the exit of Carden, the mouthy striker upset virtually all his fellow players with his outspoken views and confrontational nature.
The sales also gave a welcome boost to the clubs finances ahead of next season, Leeg21 confirmed there may be more departures once the results of the change report are known, and there will definately be some new faces in the Morley lineup for next season, Leeg21 refused to let the media know who he is targetting.
Up next at Scatcherd Park are Southampton, it will be a very tough game for Town as Southampton inflicted the first defeat of the season on runaway division leaders White Hawk FC.
