Building for the future

The Yorkshire Amateurs lost their first game in 11 when they were beaten by Crystal Palace earlier this evening. In truth the game could have gone either way but Palace’s superior finishing was the difference between the two sides.

Amateurs boss Danlufc13 told the waiting press that he had made the decision to prepare for next season rather than waste too much energy on the remainder of this.

“The boys have done me proud this season. Having avoided relegation on the last day of last season we have made huge strides to be sitting comfortably in mid table. I’m looking for progress year on year and I expect us to be challenging for the title next season.

For our final games I’m taking the opportunity to play some youngsters and improve some player’s form who haven’t played too regularly. I never like losing but it’s all towards a greater good as we will be ready from game 1 next season to take on the top 3”.
