St Omer 0 - 5 The Vikings

Viking Land News

Vikings gain expected victory.

The Vikings won the game in good style as expected against the young St Omer side and moved back into the promotion places at the same time.

Papakostas got the Vikings off to the perfect start in the 3rd minute as he headed in a Maladenis corner. Thorbjörn Lind then scored his first goal for the club after a big money move from AFC Stanley as he slotted home in the 5th minute after a defence splitting pass from Ahlm. The game was then all over as a contest in the 13th minute when the same combination for the first goal connected again with Papakostas again getting on the scoresheet. St Omer did get one chance as Prestmoen headed to close to Connely in the 25th minute. The Vikings responded and Lind saw a 26th minute header well saved. The 4th goal was always coming though and Papakostas was again involved as he slipped the ball between defenders and Portway lobbed the ball over the advancing keeper. 0-4 half time and all over.

The second half only provided one goal as the Vikings eased off a little. Lind saw a 50th minute shot saved before Tassiopoulos shot over on 57. The Vikings did score a 5th as Ahlm rose well to get a flick header on to a cross ball from Milic in the 87th minute. 0-5 final score.

Eaglesrjh was a satisfied man after the game. "Well it was a game we expected to win and i'm again pleased to win it in style whilst giving some of the youngsters another run out. Thankfully most of the kids have played all the games they have to so we can 100% concentrate on winning games for the rest of the season. Next up is our nightmare opponent as we look to overturn our voodoo against Manchester United"
