Hornets Boss To Be Smoked Out?

Glory Hornets boss Greg Perkins is facing fresh speculation that his job is under fire.

In a hastily-assembled press conference, Perkins admitted that he had been on gardening leave attending to "personal matters", including his Coaching Licence.

The battling Yellow Brick Road players have somehow managed to gain 8pts from a possible 15 with Perkins only occasionally at the helm, but it is understood that both fans and the club hierarchy are growing restless with the manager's "hands-off" approach, which is costing the club sponsorship money and other finances. Sources also indicate that the manager's Xpert Coach Licence rating is now below that necessary for a league of the Invitational's calibre.

"I fully intend to see out this season with the Hornets," Perkins announced, "but if I'm not [Xpert-] rated by those that count at the end of the season, I'll step down. This is a cracking club and I'd hate to see them suffer because of my personal life."

Up next for the Hornets is a trip to Tír Eoghain, as Perkins tries to restore some faith in his ability.
