Hornets To Nurture Larvae?

With chances of promotion now mathematically impossible, and Division 3 status guaranteed, in-Glory-ous boss Greg Perkins is expected to blood some of his younger Hornets in the next couple of weeks in an attempt to see who makes the cut for next season. However he was quick to point out that his team were "not throwing in the towel".

"Absolutely not," he asserted, "Wortley AFC come here today needing 3 points to keep their promotion hopes alive, and we have no intention of giving them away. They've got injuries to 2 key strikers, so we're looking for 3 points. The youngsters chosen are there on merit: look at some of the performances from young Lionel Monk this season."

Monk (21) has bagged four goals this season, compared to Elliot Malloy's 3 goals, and Eustace North who hasn't found the net this campaign. While hardly setting the league alight, the youngster's pace, height and powerful shot, coupled with his work ethic, have made Monk a cult hero at the Yellow Brick Road, and many are hoping he will feature for the Hornets for years to come.
