Last Game Try-Out

'I've only ever played a 4-2-4 3 times before and have a split record of won 1, drawn 1 and lost 1. Today was effectively a trial for the players and management.'

Juventus were gunned down 2-1 in an exciting and very even match, which saw Lance Tomlinson win man of the match for the home team, a very fitting tribute to a great footballing servant.

Interviewed exclusively for The Capital Wasteland news straight after the match Lance said:

'Obviously today made me feel very honoured, a great club has let me end my career here and the fans have received me so well. I just wish we could have payed their kindess and welcoming nature back with promotion, however missing out by 2 points is very upsetting. Every perfomance counts and we underperformed for some games this season. And for that I apologise on behalf of the players.'

When asked if this was how he wanted to go out Lance said:'My last words as a professional player? Let them be; we have a strong core of players, HH will strengthen and most of all HH will be here for next season so his tactics can help guide The Lone Wanderers to Division 1. That is going to be the aim for next season.'

In other news it has been widely rumoured that HH is being looked at for the vacancy at New York City, however this was bound to happen due to his perfomance in his maiden season in the RM Invitational series. The board at The Capital Wasteland stadium were unavailable for comment however one insider has said 'a full decision will be made by HH by Monday'.

This could be a kick in the teeth for the club as they aim to recover from a tough season with the pre-season cup and challenge for promotion next season.
